Sophia POV

"Tano I'm tired" I was exhausted he had me sprinting . Doing jumping jacks , man I just wanted to go sleep.

"Nope , I've given you two days to relax and heal . If I'm gonna train you , the sooner the better" he scratched his head "you're not really .. you know"
I squinted my eyes at him.

"No self defense anything so yeah the sooner the better . Hopefully you'd at least get to punch someone correctly" he smiled sheepishly.

"Ha ha funny"
I took a seat and drank some water.

"Alright let's work on some self defense moves"  I groaned getting up to stand in front of him.

"Let's say I'm about to punch you in the face.." he made motion to do so" what would you do?"

Without knowing I covered my face like a scaredy cat. When I uncovered my face he look astonished .
"Oooh we have work work to do"

"Woow okay"
He raised his hands "punch my hands"
I started punching his hands . "Is that really all you got ?"
I tried punching harder

"Oh my gosh, punch like you're hitting one of girls you've seen Aiden with" I couldn't believe he went there but it actually made me angry and I actually put some more energy into it.

"Alright that's good"

"Let's try it with your feet"  I looked at him sideways "what ?"

"Hit my hand with your feet , raise your feet with force and hit my hand"

Tano POV

Training Sophia is like a dog chasing it's tail.
We have so much work to do.

"Come on" I urged her to kick my hand. She did but poorly.

"You need to do more running" she sighed and began pouting " I don't wanna"

I fake sighed and sagged like her " Well you gotta" I said mocking her and pouted.

"Can we take a break?" She took a seat "yeah , 5 minutes"

I went inside to get my phone Incase Aiden called.

My heart skipped a beat when I realized I had a missed call from him.

I dialed the number back and he picked up the phone "Why the hell didn't you pick up the phone when I called ?!"

"Sorry boss I left my phone inside"

"Tano... Kings men could be lurking we never know if they know she survived , so when you don't pick I begin to think that they found you"

"Sorry boss-" he cut me off "put Sophia on the phone"

"So-" scaring the hell outta me she grabbed the phone outta my hand. "Hey babe"

She walked away .. two seconds ago she was outside how'd she even get here. How'd she even- she got spider senses right when she doesn't need them.

Lightbulb.

"I miss you too, bye"

"I love you too"
She hung up and she turn to give me my phone and her cheeks was red. Oooohh my boyyy. Sweet talk his girl.

"Alright let's make a deal , you make quick progress over a few things I'll sneak you in to see Aiden" her eyes opened wide.

"Deal!"

Over time
She was running these past few days.
Her strength was definitely boosting.
She was determined. Beyond determined to see Aiden.

She learned how to fight back slowly . "Come on Sophia , hit me harder"

"But I don't wanna hurt you" she whined and I laughed "hurt me ? Trust me , you won't"

She rolled her eyes. She was still hitting me but not hard enough. "Get angry Sophia , something but give me power in your fight"

"I can't do this" I sighed. "Yes you can"

"No I can't!"

"You can if you put your mind to it, now come on"

" I don't want to!"
I was confused , and a lil annoyed. I thought she wanted to see Aiden this is only so that she can protect herself when we can't.

"I don't want to be a monster!" She finally let out.

"All of you just kill people and hurt people and strip them of life , but what about their families?! Have y'all ever thought of that ?! Huh?!"

Sophia POV
I been holding that in my chest for a while but seeing Tano's face had me feeling like I should've kept my mouth shut.

"I'm not proud of what I do, I'm really not but where I'm from this is how I survive. My father had problems with some people he owed money to and they came over to try and kill him but I was in the way he was gonna shoot me but my father did first. It's either you kill them or they kill you. You get to chose. Because they're not going to think twice about killing you"

I sighed thinking about this. He had a point. Those people never thought twice. They came to kill. It's why I need to continue learning.

I got in position again. "I'm sorry , you're not a monster. I don't even have a right to call you that since I have no idea what you have been through. I'm ready to continue training."

He sighed. "Maybe we should start again tomorrow"
He got up and went inside. I felt super bad now. I got inside and took a shower. Night fell and There was no sign of Tano.

I got dressed and I saw a shadow passing around the house. I immediately got scared.
I thought about the things Tano thought me. I passed the kitchen and quickly took a knife.
And I tried following up to where the shadow was going and it led to the door. There was a window right next to it and he attempted to open the window.

I stood with my back against the door and once he got the window open his hand came in and attempted to to turn the door knob and that's where I stabbed him in the arm. I heard him yell but I grabbed his hand and pulled it so he would ram up against the window and then I did it again and he yelled.

"Woah! Woah! Woah!!" Tano came rushing in with his eyes wide open.

"What are you doing?!" I looked at him confused "what do you mean what am I doing ? He was tryna break in !!"

"Sophia! Stop he came to bring us food!" My face flushed and I stopped. I felt my heart sink in my stomach.

I let him go. "Well if he came to bring us find why didn't he just knock or call you ? He tried to break in!"

"Sorry miss abuser , Tano wasn't answering so I thought you all were asleep" Tano checked his phone. "Oh sorry hermano"

"Yeah" he mugged him.
"Sophia this is my brother Mario , he just came by to bring us some food" he explained. Oh. I blushed in embarrassment "I'm so sorry!" I ran in the kitchen to get the first aid kit.

"No worries , I've experienced worse. Atleast you know how to defend yourself. Aiden picked a feisty one didn't he?" He chuckled. I watched his hand and I felt bad all over again.

Tano started fixing up hid hand while I sat back and watched.

"Don't be sad princesa I'm fine, no major damage. I might not feel my hand for a few days but" he joked making me smile a little shaking my head. "Don't worry you did good"

"You thought someone was trying to kill you you went in attack mode which is good"

"Which makes me think of something.." Tano says smiling.

Tano POV
Spider senses

"Okay so this is what we're gonna do, because some people are gonna try sneak up on you"

I covered her eyes with a bandana and tied it. "What in the world.."

"You have to still everything in your mind and just listen. Listen for any movement. If you feel anything defend or attack."

"Hermano are you sure about this?" My brother asked. She had shown some skills on this earlier.

"Yes I'm sure" we started to creep up on her as silent as ever .

"This is creeping me out Tano" Mario shushed her. "Focus"
"Focus on hearing any movement"

"Did he just shush me ?" I rolled my eyes. Sometimes I really just wonder.

I was creeping on her from the back cause that's mostly where they'll get her from.

She swung her hand back but I caught it and I locked it but she found a way to come out and kicked me by the knee hard enough to bring my knee down and then punched me.

"Well damn" Mario said from in the back.

"Did I do bad ?"
I shook my head but then realizing she couldn't see it anyway "no you did good"

"Let's try again"

"Kay"

I encircled her until I decided to come at her from the front. She blocked my "punch" and tries to do what she did before but this time my knee didn't budge and she kicks me in the balls.
"Santa Maria!"

"Eww What was that ?" I fell to the floor holding on to my buddy. While Mario is out of breath just laughing.

She took the blindfold off and covered her mouth in shock just before she tried holding in her laugh.

"Nice one" Mario said in between laughing.

"Anyway it is past my bed time and my wife is gonna kill me , she's already sending me pictures" Mario said his laugh dying down.

"Ouuu" Sophia said wigglin her eyebrows.
He looked at her confused. "It's pictures of her knife collection, she's literally gonna kill me"
He was about to leave "it was nice meeting you even if I won't feel my hand for a few days , hermano put some ice on that" he chuckled again and then stopped "oh princesa here, give this to him when he's up, said it was a gift"

She took it and bid Mario bye bye and walked over and stooped down on her knees.
"We're going to see Aiden?!" I nodded though in pain. In so much pain

"Oh my God! Thank you so much" she kissed my cheek. I was shook for a second. It was a good thing I was already in pain so she wouldn't see my cheeks turn pink.

"I should probably go get something from the freezer"

So I tried a thing🤗🤷🏽‍♀️ just for y'all to see what they were going through while Aiden and the rest were traveling and plotting against king. Connecting some dots.
