Chapter Four: A man and his daughter

My body jerked awake when I felt a hand on my shoulder.

I relaxed when I saw it was only Y/N.

"Relax will you?" Was how she greeted me.

"Sorry," I replied.

I got up and faced Y/N.

"How long were you there?"
I asked her.

"About five minutes, you're cute when you sleep,"

I blushed at her compliment. Trying not to show my red face I turned away to grab my things.

"Do you want to leave now or later?" She asked me.

"Now would be great," I replied.

I'm still not far enough,
I thought to myself.

"Okay, we can get breakfast downstairs and afterwards we can leave," She replied.

I nodded in agreement.

"Okay lets go,"

We headed downstairs, back to the bar we were at last night.

"They serve breakfast here?" I asked Y/N.

"Yep, now lets hurry before its all gone," She replied. .

A long wooden table was at the back of the bar, food scattered across it.
I swear I almost started to drool at the sight of all that food.
Y/N walked over and grabbed an apple and chucked it at me.
I quickly caught it.

"You need your strength." She told me.

I took a bite of the apple and watched as Y/N grabbed fruits, vegetables, and some bread.

"Do they have any type of meat?" I asked her when she walked up.

"Sadly not, we'll have to find that on our own," She replied.

We walked over to the same table where we talked last night.
I finished my apple and threw the core in a nearby wooden bin.
Y/N handed me a small orange she had already peeled.

"Do you like oranges?" She asked me.

"Love them," I replied.

Y/N wrapped the rest of the food up and put it in her bag for the road.

"Do they have any milk or something?" I asked her.

"Sadly not, there's a goat farmer nearby though. I can try and pay him for some goat milk and cheese," She replied.

"Sounds like a plan,"

After we finished breakfast I followed Y/N to where the goat farmer lived.

"Aye there lass, what can I do for ye' today?" The man asked us.

Before I could reply, Y/N spoke for me.

"I would like to buy some goat milk from you,"

"Ah, I ain't selling it. Sorry lass," He replied.

I decided not to speak, knowing Y/N would have a comeback.

"You need the money, don't you?" Y/N asked him.

"Aye, every man and woman needs money. I need my goat to feed my daughter,"

I felt a little bad for the guy, he didn't have the nicest home. It was small and very old, could fall apart any day.

"How old is your daughter?" Y/N asked him.

"She's five, why do ye' ask?"

"I have a present for her, may I please see her?"

"Sure lass," He replied before turning to his house.

"Aye Melanie! Come outside!"

A small girl walked out of the old home wearing dirty clothing. Her red hair was a mess, dirt hid almost all her freckles on her face.

"Yes Daddy?" The little girl asked the man.

"This woman has a present for you,"

I was a bit confused as to what Y/N was about to do, but now knowing her I learned she could be very kind.
The little girl turned to Y/N smiling, her two front teeth missing.
Y/N reached in her bag and pulled out a small brown teddy bear, fairly clean.

"I brought this from home hoping to find a little girl to take care of it, would you like to be that girl?"

Y/N is so kind. How can she be so kind, calming, intelligent, but also violent?

The little girls face lit up with glee and she hugged Y/N after taking the teddy bear.

"Thank you so much! I love it!" She cried.

I simply smiled at the little girl, something I didn't do often.

Y/N then turned to the old man who was watching out of shock.

"I can see this girl is without a mother. I can't be a mother to her but I can simply help you get started. Take this money and get a job, start selling your milk and cheese and get a better place where your daughter can grow up. She needs toys, but make sure she's still a hard working girl. Don't sell her off for money, otherwise you would be betraying your daughter and making her miserable and leaving you alone." Y/N told him handing him a small leather bag from what I could hear, had coins inside.

"Use it well," She added before turning back to me, getting ready to take off.

"Wait!" The old man cried.

We both turned back around to look at the old man.

"I'll get you your milk and cheese, thank you for helping us!"
I could see he had tears in his eyes, tears of happiness.
I turned to look at the little girl, she was happily playing with her teddy bear.

"I love you Mr Teddy!" She said, making the bear dance.

The man came out with two small containers full of warm milk and a cloth that wrapped up cheese.

"I added extra for your friend." He told us.

"Thank you," Y/N and I said at the same time.

Y/N put the milk and cheese away and smiled at the man.

"I wish you luck on your journey." He told us.

We simply just smiled at him.

"Young man, may I have a word with you for a moment?" He asked me.

"Sure, what do you need?"

"You got lucky, treat her well. Don't let anything happen to her,"

I didn't say anything, I just nodded and jogged up to Y/N.

"Okay let's go,"

Hai!
This chapter was really cute in my opinion. Eh I'm sorry it's short but this is the third chapter I've published this week so don't complain children!

And it's J-Hope's birthday today, or it is in Korea at least.
My son is so grown up *puts hand to heart, then realizes is just being Namjoon in Run*
I'm in class right now as I write this lol. My daughter is just sitting here next to me, I asked her if she wanted to say anything and she's being stubborn >.>

I love my son. The guy wearing glasses is Namjoon by the way. And the other one above that is hugging J-Hope is Jungkook. I love my sons so much XD
