Gray lay in his bed, shirtless.
He sighed, the corner of his mouth have dry blood, same as the end of his eyebrow, his forehead, nose, and hand. A large bruise shown on his chest and bicep, he'd clearly been in a rough fight. He heard knocking, but he didn't bother getting up.
He was tired, didn't want to be near others. Hitting Juvia stuck in is mind, he didn't want to hurt anyone either.
Today was Friday, the day Juvia would leave with Lyon.
His phone began ringing, but he left it to go to voice mail.
" Gray? "his voice was called with the creaking of a door. He recognized the Voice getting up. He opened his bed room revealing himself.
Juvia was there to his surprise yet... He didn't show any emotion this time. It was like nothing did happen.
" Gray, I was worried. "she admitted, sighing on some relief.
He stared at her. She looked up at him.
" Gray, your face... What happened? "she asked, coming closer as she grabbed the handkerchief. See turned into his kitchen and wet it and then came back to him, dabbing his bruised face.
" Oh, Gray... "she sighed in the silence.
He stared down at her as she cared for his injuries.
" Didn't you have a date with Lyon today? "he asked, finally speaking. She nodded and smiled sadly.
" I already went... He asked me to travel with him but I'd never have come back to all my friends. I also realized I could never leave you when you're like this. "she admitted.
" I'm fine-"
" Don't lie Gray, I already know you're not. I don't know what Lyon said to you to provoke you, but I know somethings wrong and something happened to have you change from your normal behavior. "she stated. Gray staid silent again, just standing there, letting her treat his wounds. She placed a bandage on his eye brow and began wrapping gauze around his hand.
" he said he was going to bring you with him... "he said, she stopped with the gauze, looking up at him." You wouldn't return... I don't want you to leave... Juvia. "
She was very much surprised by Gray's words.
" I'm sorry to have had you worry... You should've just gone with Lyon. You love him, after all. "he said, looking away from her. She placed a hand on his cheek, turning his gaze back to her. She was crying, yet smiling at the same time." I made you cry again... "
Juvia shook her head and wiped her tears." No... I'm just... So happy to hear you say that... "she admitted." I thought you didn't care anymore... But it turns out you really do. I've been wanting to hear you say 'stay'. "
He staid silent as always. He leaned down, wrapping his arms around her waist. She hugged around his neck, smiling on his shoulder.
" Juvia... "he mumbled. He hands clenched to her clothing, preventing her of leaving anytime soon. He wanted her to stay there, needed her by his side. He loved her, and it took him this long to realize it. But did she still love him?
He could say or ask... Afraid she'd reject him. But keeping everything for years, all they way through high school, to today, it hurts, it hurt so much.
" Juvia... "he said, louder than the first time he called to her name. She pushed off him, looking up to his eyes. He clenched his teeth, just now noticing her cheek was very red. He must've slapped her hard.
He slipped his hand on her cheek, then dropped his stand, stand straight. " Juvia, you should go. "he said, pushing her further away, their gap between each other increasing. He let go of her and took a step back." You'll just get hurt... "
" Gray, I'm staying. "she said firmly." I don't care if I break my neck, I want to stay with you! "
That sounded a lot like a confession. Gray stared at her, confused.
" Gray... I didn't realize this sooner, and oh Mavis I wish I did.... "Juvia frowned." Gray, I don't know if you feel the same, but as long as you know, I will be happy I was able to get it off my chest. "
She took a deep breath, he continued to gaze at her. Both of her cheeks now bright red.
" Gray... "she took another breath in." I-I... I love you, Gra-! "
Gray took her roughly in his arms, but placed a gently kiss onto her sweet lips.
He'd hoped she'd felt the same, and she did. Nothing could bring this day down.
