Prologue- A voice
Link
I heard a voice.
A familiar yet unfamiliar voice.
I heard it reach out to me.
And it did that in such a soothing whisper, which called out a little louder and louder each time it spoke.
But where was it coming from? I did not know.
And I would do anything I could to find out. But I felt literally powerless. So all I could do was listen. Listen to the faint, soothing voice that echoed through my ears in search of a response I could not yet give.
But yet, I couldn't hear the words the voice was saying. I felt numb, stiff even.
And I knew nothing...and could see nothing. Nothing but darkness. A perpetual darkness. That was all I knew in this moment.
"..Link..........."
There it was again. The voice. But now I could hear what it was saying.
"...Link....."
'Link'? Who was that? That was my one main question, along with a million other thoughts that crashed into my mind continuously, like harsh waves.
"....Link........"
And then I suddenly felt realisation hit me in the face. I was....asleep...? But I could hear, couldn't I? So I was... simply waking up? And this voice was calling out to me? But I felt so weird.
My mind played the voice over and over in my head again and again. It sounded like...a girl..? But the mystery of who it was behind the voice still remained.
And then I felt my mind shout at me of the 'more important things' once again...
Who am I?
along with a crash of other questions...
...
What was I doing here? what was I doing? And how did I get here?
And then my mind felt at ease again. The soothing voice had returned to call out to me.
Along with this cruel, never ending darkness, all I knew was this peaceful whisper. But....I still couldn't help but think...who was behind the whisper talking to me?
Deep down I hoped that they would help me.... because I couldn't feel anything. And I didn't know anything either. It scared me. This was the first emotion that I could feel today. Fear.
I hoped that whoever was calling me... was waiting for me and was waking me up from this strange slumber. Because this darkness of not knowing anything made me feel worse and worse. I couldn't bare another second of it.
I tried my best to not panic, and I felt like I shouldn't let my thoughts get the best of me. I decided to think properly to at least know what was going on.
I must be asleep, I suppose?
And if I was asleep, then that could mean that I.....was finding it hard to wake up..?
...
"...Link....open your eyes.."
And then I felt my body. I felt a feeling of relief wash over me. Because I felt myself finally move!
This voice....this beautiful voice...was guiding me.
I could feel myself. I was lying down...but where? My eyes still felt trapped shut in this cage of darkness and fear but I tried to ignore it because... I could feel....water? I felt a weird and surprisingly light liquid sway over my bare chest and even more thoughts crashed through my mind.
Was I in the ocean? No- This 'water' felt different. I didn't know how, but it did. It felt unusual and it made me feel strange...but surprisingly, not in a bad way.
I could feel the weird liquid ripple around my body. I felt surrounded in it. But not trapped in it like the darkness around me, so I didn't panic. I had also come to the realisation that it somehow calmed my nerves. And also made me feel...fresh? Almost like a new person. But I couldn't tell, because then again, I didn't know myself. And that was extremely odd and terrifying.
...
"Wake up, Link...."
After feeling calm enough I reminded myself that the voice was most likely talking to me. Maybe...I was Link? It was hard to tell what was wrong and right since the voice felt so distant, yet so close.
And so, I finally felt the strength to be able to do what the voice was telling me to do.
I opened my eyes.
A bright, yellow light blinded my eyes as I cautiously opened them, giving me the strangest chill I've ever felt- but then again, I didn't really know myself anyway.
As I did this, a ringing, eerie silence filled my ears. And I didn't even know that had a sound to it.
Besides the voice, It was the first sound I had heard.
And my eyes fully opened.
I could finally see where I was and examine my surroundings at last. All I could see was the ceiling to this strange room. I surprisingly had no recollection from it, which made me not feel as relieved as I had originally hoped.
I couldn't help but instantly examine the ceiling that I was facing as my eyes slowly focused.
It had strange patterns, with shades of the brightest, luminous blue and brown included. My eyes still felt heavy and blurry but my guess was that I was probably sleeping for a long time?
Well, it must of been a very long time then.

I'm so excited for this. Again, thank you to joshi_maceo for the ideas.
I will go in more depth and description in the next chapters and this was more of a chapter than prologue but oh well.
I'm mainly focusing on completing my story 'Zelda's Beloved' and my botw groupchat so check those out ! But dw, I have a lot planned for this so I'll take my time to make chapters perfect!
Thank you! ♡
