Chapter 7: Snitched

Adrien felt a bit better about the incident from the latest akuma. His father hadn't talked to him in the past days, but he had got used to the ignorance. "Adrien, your father needs you," Natalie spoke in a monotone voice.

"Of course," Adrien finished putting on his usual clothing. "Yes, father?" Adrien sat on one of the heads of the long dining table. "Miss. Bourgeois told me you had some food before your photo shoot," his father said as he froze.

"Y-Yes, my friend Marinette gave it to me. I didn't want to make her upset-" "So you did not think of making me upset?" His father interrupted, slamming his hands on the table. "I-I'm s-" "I don't want to hear it," his father got up as Natalie's expression saddened.

"You will not be having any breakfast, and I scheduled another photoshoot today,"

Adrien saw his plate got lifted from the table. Plagg rustled inside of his jacket as he sighed. "Yes, father," Adrien excused himself, trailing behind him. "May I ask what time?" Adrien spoke carefully. "Since, I was planning on doing a voice call with Nino today, from home," Adrien added the last part.

"I do not allow you, your friends are the reason you are gaining weight," His father said as Adrien felt his thin arms. "B-But father, the doctor said I-" "I DON'T CARE!" His father boomed as he stopped.

"Now, get ready for school," Gabriel left the room, leaving him there, almost in tears. Natalie felt tempted to talk to Adrien but left the room instead. "Are you okay, kid?" Plagg practically leaped out of his pocket as soon as Natalie left.

"I'm fine," Adrien said sternly, preventing a tear from leaking out of his eye. "You know, your dad gets stressed," Plagg added as he just nodded blankly. "Yes," Adrien said as he opened the jacket for his kwami.

Plagg wanted to stay and talk to his owner, but flew in, following his orders. Adrien sighed as he flew in; it was this start of a rough day. He took out his phone, and his first reaction was to call Marinette.

"H-Hello?" Marinette's soft voice echoed through the phone. "Hey, Marinette, it's Adrien," He said breathlessly. "Is everything alright?" she asked, sensing the tone of his voice. He sighed over the phone. "I... Not really," Adrien admits.

"I was just looking for someone to talk to, if your not busy," Adrien smiled, going up to his room, grabbing his homework. "Of course not, I'll always have time," He felt Marinette's smile through the phone.

"T-Thanks," Adrien felt himself smile at the thought of someone caring for him. "Aren't you supposed to be having breakfast right now?" Marinette asked something occupying her mouth. Adrien froze for a second. "Uhm, I finished early today," Adrien lied quickly.

"Oh," Marinette replied over the phone. "Can we talk more at school?" Adrien saw his bodyguard crossing his arms. "Sure! See you," Marinette hung up as he put his phone into his pocket.

"Chloe!" I almost felt like shouting at her. "What does your poor self- Adrikins!" Chloe's voice went to a high-pitch squeal. "Why did you tell my father about the croissant I ate!?" Adrien's expression fell into a deeper frown.

"I just said that Mari-trash gave you some very bad food and that I knew that it was probably garbage," Chloe filed her nails. "Anything else?" Adrien asked. "Also that you ate the garbage," Chloe said as he face-palmed himself.

"Well, I got in trouble because of you!" Adrien said as Chloe gasped. "I'm sooooo sorry!" Chloe practically kissed him. "Yeah, yeah sure," Adrien walked off as he saw Marinette crossing her arms and frowning from the other side of the grounds.

I waved as she smiled widely, waving back slowly. "A-Adrien! What a surprise bumping into you here!" Marinette's face was bright red. "At... school?" I replied slowly. "I-I mean... nevermind. Was there something you wanted to talk about?" her face went back to a nice fair tone.

Adrien felt very tempted to talk about his father's behavior, but he knew he couldn't do that. "No, I just wanted to talk to you," Adrien made a quick excuse. "I-Is that so," Marinette turned a nice scarlet hue.

"Of course. You're my best friend," he put an arm on her shoulders. "I...yes," Marinette smiled cheekily. His bodyguard honked the car, as everyone turned towards it.

"Yes?" Adrien said, looking at the tablet with Natalie's face on it. "Your photoshoot is scheduled in ten minutes, Adrien. Let us not be late," Natalie said as Adrien gasped.

"But, I thought-" "Get in the car," His father clicked onto the tablet for one second. Adrien did what he was told, not giving one glance at Marinette or any of his other friends. "Once you are told, you must do it," Gabriel's cold voice echoed through the car.

Before Adrien had a chance to reply, he clicked off the tablet, just the way he clicked off his life.

"Smile, Adrien," The photographer said as he did it widely. "SMILE," he repeated louder as Adrien smiled ear to ear. "Adrien," the photographer said in clenching the bridge of his nose. "We will have to get someone else," The photographer said as Adrien stopped himself from sighing in relief.

"WHAT!?" Gabriel boomed from the tablet Natalie was holding. "My son is as close to perfection that you can get," Gabriel said as Adrien half-smiled.

"He is leaving the studio," The photographer concluded. "He will come back next week, and he will beat out any other candidates," Gabriel said as his bodyguard grabbed his shoulder. Adrien had been warmed from the compliments, but Gabriel was far from being nice to his son.

"Adrien, I expect better from you," Gabriel said as he sighed deeply. "Perfection is what they want, and perfection is what they are going to get," Gabriel said, his furrowing his brows. "I will not be giving you dinner after school, you will continue your usual lessons, and if this ever happens again I will withdraw you from school," Gabriel said as Adrien had to stop himself from reacting.

"You will be perfect, now try and act it, do not be a disgrace,"

Hello Friends!
