Chapter 4: Psychiatrist
It's my birthday, so I originally planned to update early, but acc the update schedule landed on this date.
Well, .__.
Enjoy nonetheless!
Adrien shut his door, feeling the presence of sadness around him. He sighed as he sat on his bed, soaking in its softness. Plagg then sprang out of his bag and rested beside him, munching on some camembert.
"You okay, kid?" Plagg asked in between bites. Adrien shrugged. "I guess," he replied softly. "You haven't been yourself lately," Plagg sighed. Adrien turned to face him. "Are...you worried?" Adrien smirked as Plagg shook his head.
"I-I am not!" Plagg stammered as Adrien chuckled. "Like...mentally," Plagg asked. "Well, I don't know," Adrien looked away. "I think I'm okay, but I know I'm am not really," Adrien stared down. Plagg flew around to his face.
"You should probably tell someone, like your father," Plagg warned. Adrien then laughed. "He is not going to care unless it affects his appearance to the public," Adrien replied. "What about Ladybug?" Plagg asked.
Adrien shrugged. "She doesn't think anything is wrong with Chat, so I don't want to worry her about me," Adrien sighed peacefully. "Besides, I already have Marinette," Adrien reminded his kwami.
"She's like... my school Ladybug," Adrien said as he got no reaction from his kwami. "I know, I'm not making any sense," Adrien sighed deeply. "Marinette would get me though," Adrien said as Plagg chuckled.
He was then going to continue but was interrupted by a knock on the door. Adrien opened it, to see his father and Natalie by the door.
"We need to talk," his father said coldly.
***
Adrien sat in silence at the large table; the one where he usually sat alone. Natalie stood beside his father, and he was on the head of the table while Adrien sat opposite to him.
"I have something we need to discuss, Adrien," His father said sharply. Adrien didn't speak as he sighed. "I am concerned you have... a mental issue," his father continued as he shot up. "W-What do you mean?" Adrien asked, as his bodyguard stopped him from standing.
His father nodded at his bodyguard, as Adrien was shoved back into his chair. "There have been some... issues including your health that I feel need to be addressed," his father continued.
Adrien didn't speak up, since he knew it would get him into trouble. "For instance, you have shown many signs of being depressed," his father continued. "And, you seem to be talking to yourself," his father snapped as Natalie played the audio clips.
"I'm so happy, Plagg," "I really can't believe she rejected me again!" "I love having so many friends, but they can never know me as well as you do," "Plagg, come on! Stop eating so much," "I can't wait to see My lady,"
Adrien heard his voice repeated over and over. He was about to defend himself, but he could never tell his dad who he was talking to. "You have an imaginary friend named 'Plagg'," his father said his kwami's name, making it sound sour.
"You will soon be visiting a psychiatrist, and this will be kept in secret," his father concluded as Adrien's jaw dropped. "I don't want your mental health affecting any Agreste's reputation," his father said as they both stood up.
"F-Father please, I don't want to see one! I'm fine," Adrien begged. "My decision is final, you will see them tomorrow after school," his father said. "Maybe I would have to talk to my 'imaginary friend' if you were around," Adrien mumbled as his father wiped his head around.
"What did you say!?" he shouted as Adrien stumbled to the ground. "N-Nothing! P-Please," Adrien begged as his father walked out the other room. Adrien sighed as his bodyguard helped him stand.
He just ran to his room, and locked the door, and jumped onto his bed. Plagg came out, and Adrien turned his head the other way.
"Maybe this is a good thing," Plagg said, stroking his owner's arm. "No," Adrien spat. "I'm fine," he added.
"I'm...fine,"

Adrien sighed heavily as he walked to his car after school. Marinette offered to come with him, but his bodyguard quickly denied. She promised she would text him straight after his appointment to see how he was doing.
Adrien smiled at his friend and then shut the door, frowning once again. His bodyguard drove him to the destination, then dropped him off into the office. "Hello," a voice said from behind him.
He turned around and waved as she walked up to him. "You must be Adrien, correct?" she asked as he nodded, still not speaking. "Come this way," she led him into her office. There, he saw two chairs opposite to each other, and a desk in the back corner with a computer on it.
The room had big windows and displayed many posters and photos of the girl and her children and husband. Adrien sat down, thinking of a plan. He wanted to be very silent, and then maybe he wouldn't have to go to her anymore.
"So, Adrien," she asked as he perked his head up. "I'm just going to ask you some questions," she smiled sweetly. She didn't get any response from Adrien, but it didn't bother her at all. "So, from here it says that you are very smart, a model, a pianist, fencer, as well as being able to speak several languages,"
Adrien nodded slowly as she smiled for the second time. "You have a very busy schedule," she laughed as Adrien looked at his feet. "Your not one to talk, are you," she laughed again. "Okay, let me just asked some starter questions,"
"These are just yes and no, and in my opinion, are the easiest since you don't have to talk," she added. "So, Adrien, do you feel you are mentally stable?" she asked as Adrien shook his head quickly.
"What about...do you like superheroes? Like, Ladybug and Chat Noir?" she asked as Adrien nodded. "Which one do you prefer?" she asked as he had forgotten about how he was not going to talk. "Ladybug," he put simply as she scribbled something down.
"Why?" she asked as he shrugged. "Come on, your a smart boy, think a little harder," she pushed. "Because Chat Noir is always screwing things up. He does irrational things that often make Ladybug annoyed at him, or make a plan fail. He holds onto his grudges without focusing on saving Paris," Adrien spat as she leaned back in her chair.
"Why do you dislike Chat Noir so much, because of these points?" she asked. "I...guess. He doesn't deserve his fame, probably a screw up in his own life," Adrien looked down as she wrote something down for a long time.
"Well, I think Chat Noir is amazing. He is always there for Ladybug, and she would never succeed without him. He is funny, and never fails to make his fans laugh," she listed off as Adrien turned a bit red.
"You think so?" he asked, smiling, as she nodded. He then looked down. "I-I mean. Yeah, I guess," he saddened as she scribbled something down. "Very interesting," she whispered.
"What is?" Adrien asked as she smiled. "I have some research to do, you are free to leave. I'll see you for your next session, on Wednesday,"

Adrien took out his phone and texted Marinette. Hey Mari, he texted as he sighed deeply. Hey Adrien! How did your appointment go?? Marinette replied very quickly. It was fine. The psychiatrist was nice, and I have another appointment in two days, Adrien typed quickly.
Did you enjoy it? Marinette responded. I guess, I texted back. Well, maybe one of these days I could come with you. You would enjoy that, I think, Marinette replied as Adrien smiled. I would love that, Adrien texted back.
I have to go help Mom in the bakery, I'll text you later! Marinette replied. Save me some croissants :3! Adrien replied before she left. ^^ I will, Marinette left her phone. Adrien shoved his phone into his pocket, and his smile faded away.
Something about Marinette, surprisingly made him smile.
I sense that the Adrienette is strong in this chapter
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the chapter! Stay tuned ;)
