Chapter 30: The Power of Spells

Hey everyone, Clippy here. Wow, so in this chapter, we get to see why Ladybug's yo-yo didn't purify the akuma. Let's hope that she will be able to do it! Or...what lengths will she have to reach to help Adrien?

Enjoy!

Ladybug watched in horror, the akuma piercing through Silver Bullet's skin, leaving a dark purple hue behind. He licked the blood from the cut the akuma had created, smiling darkly at the spotted heroine.

Ladybug's breath hitched, shivering. "What happened!?" Rena Rouge screamed, snapping Ladybug out of her trance. "I-I don't know-"

"Spell Arcevengant prevents a miraculous holder from using their powers," Silver Bullet snickered. "How did you-" He dropped the teared-up spellbook onto the ground, Ladybug cutting her sentence.

"Thanks for the book, Marinette."

Ladybug shut her eyes, Rena Rouge eyeing Carapace from the opposite side.

"So, you went through my things," Ladybug sighed, "you dumb cat."

Silver Bullet snickered, "what are you going to do now, Luckybug?" "Looks like your luck has drained out," he laughed maniacally, all the miraculous holders looking to Ladybug for a next step.

She was frozen in place. Ladybug felt only the slight shift of a pebble beneath her foot.

Silver Bullet tossed the butterfly miraculous into the air, Ladybug still frozen in place. Her hair covered her eyes, Ladybug not wanting to see the disappointed glares all directed at her.

Silver Bullet walked up to her face, "don't be sad, I already knew you could never beat me." "Where is Chat Noir," she breathed.

"What?" Silver Bullet backed up slightly.

"Chat Noir." Ladybug spat stiffly. "Where is he?"

Behind her back, Ladybug typed a message on her yo-yo. "He's gone," Silver Bullet spat with a dark smile. Ladybug continued to keep the act up. "I don't think so."

She sent the message, Rena Rouge looking on her flute to see the notification sent to everyone.

Grt the spellboik asap. I distact him.

Get the spellbook as soon as possible. I will distract him. Rena Rouge translated the sentence in her head. She looked to Carapace, who nodded and glanced to Queen Bee.

She called her Venom, just in case Adrien were to jump at them. "So many questions," Silver Bullet continued, Ladybug's eyes still covered by her hair.

"So, it seems you failed, Luckybug," Silver Bullet spat, not getting any reply. "I don't think so," Ladybug whispered. Queen Bee used her Venom on Adrien, Ladybug glancing up. "I need to do something," Ladybug breathed, "all of you keep watch on him."

They all nodded, Silver Bullet stretching out his arms and cracking his neck. "I've been itching for a fight," he ridiculed as the superheroines all followed Ladybug with their eyes.

"NOW!" Ladybug shouted from the distance all of them leaping into action as Silver Bullet summoned his destructive blast.

Ladybug sprinted on the rooftops scaling down a building side as she caught her breath. She tried her best to flip through the spellbook quickly and gently, de-transforming as Tikki found a cookie to snack on.

"What are you doing," Tikki asked worriedly. She smiled, tearing the page from the spellbook. "After I use this spell today, I will destroy it so it can never be used again."

"What spell?" Tikki asked, glancing at the paper. "Nectar of the Miracle Gods," she put simply, Tikki gasping. "No Marinette! NO."

Marinette sighed, "I know it is risky, but I can't use the two miraculous, since that has a consequence." "This spell was made by the god of purity, you, Tikki."

Tikki sighed, "Marinette, I don't want you to use the spell." "It still has a consequence!" Tikki squealed, "It requires a worthy sacrifice."

"Hopefully the guardian and best miraculous holder in history will be enough."

Tikki paused. "What-!"

"Tikki, I lost my parents and all family. The boy I loved and all my friends are all I have left. I can save them with this, and I can die doing what I love."

Tikki didn't speak, still unsure of the plan. "Don't be sad Tikki," Marnette smiled sadly, "make sure that you make Adrien the new guardian."

"ADRIEN!?" "Yes, Adrien." Marinette sighed, "there is no one else I love or trust more than him." Tikki still looked sad. Marinette smiled, "I promise, the next Ladybug holder will be as great as I could ever be."

"But it won't be you, Marinette!" Tikki squealed in response. Marinette looked down sadly, "I'll live in the legends, Tikki," she looked up, hugging her kwami. "I'll never forget you Marinette," Tikki cried.

Marinette smiled, "thank you for allowing me to be Ladybug, Tikki."

She transformed back into Ladybug, knowing this was the end of her being the spotted heroine. She knew this was the end, but it still felt so hard to digest. Hopefully, she could restore everyone's lives in exchange for her eternal suffering.

"Azaga ora nuca crayna," Ladybug muttered the spell over to herself, hoping to remember it. She tucked the paper spell into her yo-yo, just in case she needed a reminder of the phrase. She yo-yoed back to the fight, seeing Carapace get flung into one of the nearby buildings.

She ran up to him, lifting his head with her hand. "Nino, are you okay!?" She asked immediately. He nodded, reaching his hand out for her to help her up.

"We're doing okay," he breathed heavily, "glad you're back though." He fell back into the wall, Ladybug helping him steady himself. "I hope this hell can end soon," he breathed, "you have a plan, right?

Ladybug nodded, smiling. "You're reminding me why I chose my plan."

He glanced at her, confused. "Why?"

"For my friends, for my family," she breathed, "you're all a gift greater than the miracle god's power."

Oh boy, so Ladybug may be dying. I feel bad for her (even though I'm the one writing it) but if she sees no other way, I can't say anything else. Also, the akuma was once in the card that Marinette wrote for Adrien, but now it's in Adrien. F u n .

But, anyway, if you are enjoying, stay tuned! Let's see the power of the miracle gods ;)
