Chapter 20: The Great Mistake

Hey everyone! What's up :P. So, I updated on time - but this chapter is a bit shorter than usual :(!! But, none the less, I still hope you enjoy it!

As always...Enjoy!

"Nice to see you in better spirits, Adrien," Zoey grinned, "If that's true...?" He nodded, his eyes drifting to the posters behind her desk. Plagg was sitting on the arm of the chair, his eyes glued to his holder.

He was silently waiting for his owner to admit what he had tried to do a week ago, but it seemed he wasn't budging in the slightest. "Have things at home been getting better?" "Sort of - it's pretty much the same,"

"Define your use of same," she clicked her pen, leaning back on her chair. He sighed, settling into his. "Like, he doesn't talk much, but it's better from before," Adrien lied more. Plagg had almost thought of going to these sessions as being exams.

Adrien tells Zoey what she wants to hear, never what actually happened. Plagg decided to keep quiet, but he really didn't want to.

"One second Adrien, it's a phone call from your father," Zoey grabbed the phone and left the room. "Are you going to tell her what actually happens!" "Plagg, shush!"

"Adrien, her goal is to help you! She can't do that if you don't tell her what actually happens at home," Plagg was caught in Adrien's hands. "Plagg, you aren't going to say anything," Adrien sucked in a breath, "Promise?"

"No," -Plagg flew out, crossing his arms- "If you aren't, then I will!" "Plagg-" Adrien look up when Zoey walked into the room. "Are you guys bickering again?" she smirked.

"Yes," Adrien replied quickly as she giggled. "Sorry for that, your father was just asking if he could pick you up early," Zoey tapped her chin, "For an appointment, I think?"

Adrien nodded, gathering his stuff. "Adrien, aren't you going to tell her!" Plagg yelled as the eyes were all directed at him. "Tell me what?" "Nothing, Plagg is just spewing nonsense," he mumbled.

"I'm not! Zoey, Adrien isn't getting better," "Plagg-" "His father is getting worse, and he is doing worse things to himself. He is not getting better," Zoey's eyes darted to Adrien. "Adrien," "Why do I have to hear this from your kwami?"

Adrien was still frozen in his stance. "I'll see you next week," he ran out ignoring Zoey's calls.

Adrien got into his room, Plagg circling around his head. "Adrien-" "Plagg, I don't want to hear it," he turned the other way. "I'm not apologizing, I did the thing you were too scared to do," "Too scared?" he scoffed, "I just didn't want to tell her in the first place!"

"Why not!?" "BECAUSE IT DOESN'T MATTER-" they both went silent after hearing Adrien's phone buzz. He quickly grabbed it, "Hello?" the kwami and his holder were not facing each other. "Oh, Adrien, glad I caught you," Marinette turned on her camera, smiling.

"We're all chatting on Datstring - want to join?" Adrien sighed. "I mean - sure, I'll just keep my mic muted," Adrien replied quickly. "Great! See you there," Marinette hung up as he resumed fighting with Plagg.

Plagg had already disappeared, so he just went onto Datstring and joined the voice call. "Hey, Adrien!" Alya's voice echoed as Marinette's camera glitched. He typed a 'hello' into the chat, not wanting to talk at the moment.

"Come on, turn on your mic," Alya groaned, "PLEASE!" Marinette squealed. He sighed, cleared his throat, and turned it on. "Hi," he said as his icon lit up. "Hey, Nino!" Alya's icon glowed as Nino joined the call.

"Hey, everyone," Nino groaned as Alya laughed. "Nino, you sound like you're drowning in cheese graters," Alya commented as Adrien checked the time. CRAP - IT WAS PAST 6 O'CLOCK.

"Uh, I have to go now!" Adrien and Marinette said in unison. "I'll see you guys," Adrien hung up, a bit flustered.

"Plagg claws out!" he called, as Adrien stood in one place. "Plagg!?" he burst open the bathroom door, looking for his kwami. "Where are you," he mumbled, looking under his pillows. "PLAGG!" he shouted, not caring if his father was going to call him insane again.

"Plagg, where are you!?" he checked his cabinet as Plagg flew into his face. "Adrien, you need to listen-" "Plagg, claws out!" he cut off his kwami's sentence, jumping out the window.

"Sorry, I'm late Ladybug," Chat stumbled onto the roof. "No problem," "Were you waiting for long?" "...It's been 30 minutes," she was still facing the other way.

He rubbed the back of his neck as she crossed her arms. "I...Are you getting too busy for this job? Because you can't keep being late like this," her voice was laced with pain. "N-No, I swear, this will stop,"

The duo went silent. "I'm sorry Chat, but if you're late one more time, I swear," the pain was replaced with anger. He didn't reply. "Is that clear?" she glared at him. "Ladybug- LOOK OUT!" Chat pushed her out of the way, getting hit by a victim.

"CHAT!" she sucked in a breath, "Why did you save me!? I was just yelling at you," he looked at his partner and smiled. "Because I love you, M'lady," Chat replied as Ladybug blushed.

It could have just been the akuma talking, but saying that to Ladybug didn't feel the same anymore.

Ahhh, that's a rip. That's what you get for losing your temper Ladybug :P. Eyyy Adrienette doesn't have a chance! Yay...

Okay, everyone, have a great week! And a great day/night!

Stay tuned ;)
