Chapter 17: Zoey's Boyfriend

Hey everyone - Clippy checking in again! So, what happened, what happened...oh yeah, Gabriel threatened his son for the thousandth time.

Such a great father.

Okay, 100% joking about that, he's the worst man alive. (Well kinda alive cause he doesn't exist) But anyway, enjoy!

(Also why is Adrien shirtless in that picture - I had to edit it for the cover)

"It's Wednesday again~" Plagg taunted his owner. "And?" "You're going to see you're psychiatrist again," he snickered. "And...?" Adrien remarked as his kwami rolled his eyes.

"Come on, have some fun," "Have some fun fake laughing at your attempt to annoy me?" Adrien glanced to the left, "No thanks,"

Plagg rolled his eyes as Adrien rinsed out his mouth. "Here, and you should probably use some mouth wash," Adrien commented. "Nu-uh," "You mean yes." Adrien rubbed his eyes, still not awake in the slightest.

"Come on, just get to school on time," Plagg flew into his jacket pocket as Adrien left his room. He quietly went down the stairs and grabbed an apple from the kitchen before leaving. "Is Mr. Popular driving himself to school?" "Oh, shut up,"

"I thought that you needed a parent in the car with you," "It'll be fine," Adrien turned smoothly onto the street. He got to the front of the school, parking his car in one of the spots still available.

Spots...

Adrien thought of Ladybug until a familiar girl tapped his shoulder. "Marinette," Adrien smiled warmly, "How are you?"

She shrugged, "The question is how have you been?" she remarked with a confident smile, "Your sessions going well?" "Good, and yes," "That's good..." Marinette trailed off, the tension building between them. "I-I have to head to class now, so," "Yeah, go ahead," Adrien was a tad disappointed to only have a few seconds with her.

But, he still had to keep the fact in his head that he had a crush on her. Or, maybe Zoey was mistaken on that, or...

He tried to think of something else. Well, he could always just ask Zoey later today if he had more questions.

"She what?" "She needed to go to a doctor's appointment, so I'll be filling in for her," Quinton tried his best to be easy-going. "Why aren't you with her?" Adrien asked, then realizing he was being a bit mean.

"Oh, she wanted me to get to know you better," he smiled, "Since, I'll be filling in a lot for her in the future,"

"Yeah," Adrien fumbled with his thumbs, trying not to let the disappointment show. His expression softened as Adrien sat down. "So-" "So, how did you and Zoey meet?" Adrien interrupted.

"Oh, we went to high school together," "We started dating in tenth grade," Adrien looked down. "Look, I'm sure that you are not in approval of me," "I'm still not in approval of me," He added, resting a hand on his shoulder.

"And I'm sure that you care about Zoey a lot, but you must understand that I do as well," "W-We're getting off-topic," Adrien remarked, glancing the other way. Quinton sat down opposite of him, resting his heel on his knee, crossing his arms.

"Okay, so I don't understand, why did you become a psychiatrist?" Adrien asked. He asked the same thing of Zoey, and she answered him - he hoped this guy would do the same. "Well, Zoey got me interested..." his expressions tipped down.

He was only doing this because of his girlfriend - how typical. "But, as well, the fact that I wanted to help people who were like me," Quinton added. "What do you mean?" Seriously Adrien? He obviously's been depressed himself.

"Well, I've been severely depressed myself," he rolled up his sleeves.

Were those...scars?

Adrien's eyes widened - he prayed every night that he would never get that bad. "I-I..." he felt so bad for giving him a hard time. He softly smiled, "I hope to help lots of kids, including you," Quinton breathed. "H-How are you alive?" Adrien stammered.

"I met Zoey, and my life started going uphill, and she gave me reasons to feel happy again," he smiled widely. Adrien smiled softly, "T-That's nice," he whispered.

"How was your lesson?" Zoey's enlightening voice chimed Adrien's ears. "Oh, Zoey," Plagg quickly flew out of Adrien's jacket to greet her. "Hey, Plagg," she handed him a slice of cheese. "Taking care of my boy?" she asked with a smile as he nodded.

"Hey Zoey," Quinton pecked her lips, "How was your appointment?" "Great!" Zoey exclaimed with a smile. "Everything seems great so far," "That's a relief," Quinton released a breath. "What is going on here?"

Everyone turned around, just to see Gabriel Agreste standing there.

"F-Father!?" Adrien stammered as he rested a hand on his shoulder. "Mr. Agreste, nice to meet you again," Zoey extended a hand as he shook it. "And this is?" he glanced to Quinton. "He is my boyfriend and a trained psychiatrist. He took over today's session," Zoey replied.

"I was not informed about this," Gabriel remarked. "I tried to get in contact with you, but you had never replied with any of my methods," Adrien looked at his feet. The truth was, Natalie used to answer the phones and check his father's inbox.

"I understand your frustration, but you have to understand you were unable to reach," Quinton jumped in. "You had to tell me. Where were you anyway?" he turned to Zoey. "Not that it is any of your business," she paused, "But I was at an appointment,"

"Is there anyone to confirm you were there - any note of any sort?" "Mr. Agreste, I wouldn't lie about something like that," "Unless you're trying to get paid for work undone," "Mr. Agreste, calm down," Quinton concluded.

Adrien quietly stared at the ground during this argument. "I expect that Miss. Cunningham is the one to be attending the sessions," Gabriel's voice deepened. "Good day,"

"Wait!" Adrien called as his father looked back. "I...I think Quinton would be a good back up," Adrien remarked as Quinton smiled softly to himself. "Oh really?" His father walked up to him so he could be that much taller.

"Get into the car, I'm going to talk to your psychiatrist," Adrien opened his mouth to talk back, but quickly shut it, getting into the passenger's seat. He saw everyone arguing, as Plagg flew out of his pocket.

"I-I should've just left in the first place," Adrien quivered. "It's my fault they're fighting again!"

POOR ADRIEN!!! At times like this, I just want to hug him. Is anyone interested in joining the #AdrienProtectionSquad now?
