Seventy-one
Couple Days later
I...have not lectured All Might on his training methods, yet. But I am kinda planning to, ice I get more time or more organized with my time. I haven't even decided yet date for Hawks' interview! Good thing I didn't give him a timeline of when it will be.
I sit on my bed, waiting for Izuku to return from his work study since I finish work early Tenshi is asleep on my lap while I run my fingers through my slightly longer hair, it's almost as long as Shoto's was before the haircut.
We had both agreed to have the same style, that's not the hard part, Sho said that I get to choose it since when we were little he got to choose.
I swipe through my Google search if different hair styles looking for more unisexual styles that will work for our duel hair. There are so many options but most of them I don't think will work, or I am being picky.
I know I want hair long enough that I can do something with but not too feminine on Sho. That's all I am asking for right now.
"Hey Azula." I look up to see Izu coming through the doorway with an almost tired look on his face. "Hey, you okay?" I ask sitting up more. He shrugs "Tired I guess." he tries to smile, but I know there is more to it than tiredness.
I gently pick up Tenshi before getting up myself. "Wait here." I tell him, placing a kiss on his cheek as I walk by to put Tenshi in her crib.
"What's wrong?" I ask him as I sit down beside/behind him on the bed. The normally bright boy gives a sadden shrug, not looking at me. "Hey," I say softly, gently turning him toward me "you can talk to me. We're partners, if there is anything going on you can tell me."
"I know, just-" he pauses like he is thinking, the boy's cheek resting in my hand. After the pause, Izuku takes a light breath "Okay, have you heard of Overhaul?" he asks me, I nod, there isn't someone associated with the undergrounds that hasn't. "I ran into him today on patrol, or I saw him." he says before explaining what happened in those few minutes from when the girl that was with the villain running into Izu and Togata on patrol to the former two leaving.
By the end Izu had his head on my lap as I run my finger through his hair. "There was nothing you could do." I tell him "If you did there there might not have been a chance that any of you would've gotten out." not very encouraging, but true. "I know, but I still feel guilty about letting her go." he tells me. "I am sure it's only temporary." I say.
"Which part? The guilt or her being used by Overhaul."
"Both," I answer without a doubt "I don't think Sir Nighteye would leave a little girl in the hands of a very dangerous villain, and I think with time you will come to terms, or you'll get her back." I give him a smile that he normally give others.
I see him give a smile, a more him smiles "Thanks Azula."
"Glad to be of service." I reply putting a kiss on his forehead, this brings more of a smile from the greenette. He takes a hold of my left hand, the one that wasn't playing with his hair, and rubs his thumb across the top of my knuckle. There's something else on his mind. I ask him if there is anything else he wants to talk about. He nods "Yeah, I'm still curious about the scars on your wrist."
Oh. I think a bit of discomfort must've shown because Izuku starts doing his hand waving thing saying that I don't have to tell if I don't want to.
I take his hands in to my owns, "It's fine, just" I let out a breath "the story behind them isn't the greatest."
He gives me a quizzed look, bringing me to give almost the same story that I had told Katsuki months before.
Time skip, if you want a refresher please go to Fifty-one more towards the end.
Once I finish, the crickets starts playing their tunes as Izuku process my words. He had sat up in the mists of it, so I have my knees sort of pulled up to my chest.
Why is this time more nerve wracking than when I told Katsuki? Because it's someone you love. "Azula?" a third voice entered the conversation, almost scaring the shit out of me. "Sho-" Oh God, did he hear me? I look down, my chest feels tight and my vision goes blurry from tears wanting to come. My right hand subconsciously goes to push on the pressure point on my left wrist, not that I would feel it much with the number of times I've done so.
But two pairs of arms find themselves around me, Shoto's and Izuku's.
I hug them back, words failing with what was already said.
And the hugs are better than words at this point.
After a few minutes of hugging Izuku sits down besides me and Shoto in front of me. Though Izuku takes captive of my hand "Does anyone else know?" Sho asks, thankfully the door is shut. I nod slowly "Katsuki knows, and Toya only knows about the depression." I tell them, not mentioning that Toya told Dad. "When did Kacchan find out?" Izu asks me.
"After the licensing exam. He saw the scars and figured part of it." I did not mention in any form that I cut more recently, that would probably make them worry. Sho nods before giving me another hug "Love you Sis."
"Love you too Bro." I reply, hugging him with one arm. "I'm going to get you some soba." he says, releasing me. "You don't have to." I tell him.
"Don't care." my twin gets up and leaves. I roll my eyes a little once he left as I rest my head on my boyfriend's shoulder.
Silence filling the room aside from our breathing until Izu asks "Are you going to be okay?"
Good question "I think so. I mean, I'm doing better than before." I tell him, even though I am unsure myself.
Izu place a kiss on my head "Just remember that you can talk to me if you need too, okay?"
I smile the best I could as I reply "I know, and the same applies to you too."
The Next Day
I walk into the agency with my bag in hand, ready for what hell sends my way.
"Morning Kiki!" Cell waves, as I enter. "Good morning Cell." I smile softly, the events of yesterday all but forgotten but invisible to others.
"Did you hear the news?" she asks me as we walk into the locker room. "What news?" I did not do much yesterday evening, aside from eating Soba.
"Then I won't tell." she smiles, walking away from me and to her locker "Meanie!" I yell like a little kid. I quickly change into my costume before heading up to the office area.
One my desk is a simple packet. Curiosity takes hold as I sit down and start skimming through it. The first dozen pages or so filled with polls and results from the brackets on Monday, then I reach a page with the ranking of each sidekick within the agency. Now is the time to read, first is Cell, no surprise there with her skills and how long she has been here. There's a bit of an explanation on why that I can already figure out on my own. I go to the next page only to see what Cell meant by news:
Number two sidekick: Kiki
I am in shock, I'm at the fucking top even with my burn! I lean back in my chair, not even looking at the rest; I already know I had a bit of a harsher rubric than the rest with me being new and his daughter, though I did fight Dad with a crisped arm and I still kicked his ass.
But still I got the number two spot. I will have to tell Izuku later. I put the packet aside and begin with my assigned work.
"Kiki!" Cell calls, I look up and the sidekick motions me to follow her. I do so once I locked my computer. "Where are we going Cell?" I ask once we are in the elevator. "On patrol, didn't I tell you that there will be less paperwork the higher ranked you are."
"Yeah, but I didn't think I would get second. Unless it's Dad's genetics." I shrug bringing a chuckle from the number one sidekick "Maybe." she replies as we leave the agency.
There's people that stops and wave at us, I waving back with a Deku smile. Luckily it's not as much publicity, unlike my last patrol.
After a few blocks, everything is peaceful. Until I heard a scream behind me.
I whip around to see a man holding a woman in a chokehold while pointing a gun at Cell and I. "Sir," I say "I'm going to have to ask you to let that woman go and put the gun down." My tone firm as I stand my ground, taking control of the situation. "I don't think so, Missy." he snears, aiming the gun more toward me than Cell "You see, you have something that I don't."
"Common sense?" I ask, majority of the citizens have backed away so I create a ring of fire around me and the gunman, and hostage. More an oval than circle to keep Cell out of the line of fire. The fire isn't high enough not volatile enough to ignite anything else, more to serve as an incentive to keep people away. "Ha!" the man sounds "You think you're funny don't cha?"
"I try to be."
"You got fame!" he yells as the woman struggles to breath. "You can have it." I take a step forward, but I see the barrel pointing at my face. "Don't you fucking move." he says.
"Then let her go, she has nothing to do with this." I say "Let her go and we can talk, okay? You want me right?" my voice is a little more gentle than before. The man is hesitant before he let the woman go. She runs towards me, shaking but able to breath. I part the flames behind me to let her out before my full attention to the man. "Kiki, your father is on his way and will be here in ten." Cell tells me in my head. That's all the time I need, I side step taking a bullet in a thick wall of ice as I jump over the wall. I grab the gun and twisting it out of his hand as I pin him to the ground. "Congrats!" I say "You are going to get your fame, for shooting at a fifteen year-old."
I let the fire die down and the police comes in and take the man into custody, the gun into evidence.
I take a few deep breaths to calm my heart, I melt the ice and look at the bullet. It doesn't look like an ordinary bullet, the end has what looks like the tip of a needle. I pull out a pair of tweezers from my shirt, a cop notice me and brings over a bag for it. "Thank you Ms-" the office stumbles a bit wanting my name. "Kiki, and I'm glad that I was able to help. Be careful with that bullet, it has a point." I say. The office nods, thanking me again before leaving.
"Nice job out there." Cell tells me, "It wasn't much." I reply as I see Dad coming our way. I give a wave toward the man, causing Cell to turn around and see the man too.
"Is everyone alright?" he asks. "Yup! One is a little bruised around the neck and a bit shaken up, other than that everyone is okay." I report to him. He nods as some media comes over for some questions in regards to what just took place, I answer the majority of them to the best of my ability before continuing our patrol.
"That was entertaining to say the least." I say a few more blocks away. "You are acting like you weren't just shot at." Cell says. "I wasn't," I retort "the ice was." the older woman shakes her head "Try not to get shot at again. I don't think your brothers would appreciate it if you were to."
I rub the back of my neck "Yeah, and Fuyumi would probably lecture me like she has been meaning to since the USJ incident." Cell gives a slight shake of the head with a small smile "I still can't believe you are in high school."
"Is Toya in high school more believable?" I ask as we turn the corner. "Nope." she responds.
Okay, if I am being honest: I was almost in tears after Azula told Izuku and Shoto then my heart was racing with the gunman.
Is it a good thing if the author is getting the feels as they write the story?!
Also, I am watch the Spring Festival episodes right now. I am cringing a little at Miro and at the Gentle Criminal but I am getting ideas for it!!!
Anyways, thanks for reading!💜
