The New Girl's POV

Hey guys! I'm the new girl in town... I had an obsession with Electric Ave and Rebel Coast. Realize I said had. Anyways, I was born in Winnipeg, raised there then moved to Toronto one year ago and all that jazz. I had one best friend back in Winnipeg, guess who that is!? Dane Bjornson. We were inseparable, as my mom puts it. We did covers together all the time and spent a lot of quality time with each other. But all that crumbled down when he made into the Next Star and blah blah, I'm pretty sure most of you know the rest of the story. Now, I'm in Toronto, living there, and yeah. I have a job at Starbucks and I'm living in an apartment with my mom and dad.

"Jess! Look!" Maddie said, rolling over.

She rolled onto my side of the bed and showed me a picture of Ryan from Rebel Coast asleep.

"It was his birthday yesterday! Kyle tweeted this pic." she smiled, scrolling through his tweets and favouriting almost every one of them.

"Ok, ok. I see it." I said, pushing Maddie aside.

"Oh look! It's Dane!" I heard Maddie say.

She always bugged me about Dane. She knew that Dane and I had a really close relationship, but not that close. Maddie would do anything for me to talk about him, I think she likes him. I sighed and rolled over, covering myself with my blankets and turning off my phone. I could hear Maddie giggle in the corner. But this giggle was the giggle that I should be careful about. It was like she doing something really bad. I rolled over and saw her on my phone typing something.

I quickly grabbed my phone from her and saw what she was doing.

"Hey Dane, I miss you a lot :("

She DMed Dane! I growled and got up, pushing her off my bed and trying to delete the message. Maddie bursted out in a fit of laughter. I sighed and looked at my screen. This cannot be happening right now. A few seconds later Dane replied.

"Hey Jess, I miss you a lot too :("

I sat up straight and glared at Maddie. She smiled at me and got up, getting onto my bed again. She read Dane's reply and smiled at me.

"So? How are you going to reply?" she asked.

"I'm not going to." I said, turning off my phone and putting it on my night table.

"Oh come on, Jess. You have to." she complained.

"No. I'm going to sleep. So either you go to sleep too or you're going back home." I replied, turning off my light.

"Fine..." she sighed.

I felt her get off my bed and walk over to my side of the bed and then walked to the bathroom. I eventually fell asleep, still not knowing why Maddie walked over to my side of the bed.

~The Next Morning~

I was woken up by the sound of my alarm. I grabbed my phone and turned off the alarm. Maddie was sleeping beside me so I decided to scroll through Twitter to see what people were up to. When I unlocked my phone, the Twitter app was already open. Right... I left it open last night. I checked my DMs and guess what I saw. Dane Bjornson. I opened the conversation and scrolled to the top. Maddie... I'm going to kill her when she wakes up.

"Hey Jess, I miss you a lot too :("

"Do you think we should meet up? I live in Toronto now..."

"You do? Why didn't you tell me earlier?"

"I...I just didn't want to. I'm sorry. :("

"That's okay. Now I know!"

"So, should we meet up?"

"Sure! You choose place and time."

"How about Starbucks at 10:30 tomorrow morning?"

"Sure! I'll see you then!"

Frick, frick, frick, frick, frick. 10:30 today. Maddie, what did you do to me? I got up and got ready. Slipping on my jean shorts and t-shirt, I checked the time on my phone. 10:00. I ran down the stairs and slipped on my Toms, running out of the house. I ran down the street to Starbucks and sat down on a chair. I was catching my breath when someone tapped my shoulder. I turned around and saw Dane standing there smiling.

"Hey Jess." he smiled.

"Hey Dane."
