Black, White, and a Little Gray
The strong smell of morning dew and sickly sweet flowers danced in the air, the once green leaves on trees turned into fairy tale treasures with golden leaves, ruby apples, and sapphire flowers swaying gently in the crisp morning wind.
Among this new fall scenery, only one thing was out of place.
And that would be the tall, muscular boy with black and white hair stumbling around lost.
"Ehhh? Momiji said the house was along the south trail..." He muttered, walking along the north trail.
"Also past a little clearing..." He mused, walking past an area filled with trees.
"And off a little to the right..." He sighed going left.
"So why am I still lost...?"

A harsh knocking on the door startled a young brunette who was washing dishes.
"Momiji were you expecting anyone?" She called out.
"Um no?" Momiji walked into the room into the room, wrinkling his nose adorably and scratching the back of his blonde hair.
"What about you Yuki?" He called.
"I don't think so." Yuki called back.
Suddenly Momiji stiffened.
"Momiji?"
"Oh god it might be the Shino twins." He whimpered.
Hinata blinked, "The Shino twins?"
"Ayaka and Hikari Shino, presidents of my fan club." He choked out.
Hinata barely suppressed a surprised snort, which if her brother was here, he would've commented how unladylike it was but whatever, "You have a fan club?"
"Yes." He groaned, looking at the door warily.
"Hinata please answer it and tell them I-um-I...went to go buy...miso! Yes that's it!" Momiji grinned victoriously.
"Okay..." Hinata trailed off, giving him a look that said, this isn't going to work you know?
"Trust me!" He beamed and ran off.
Hinata grumbled under her breath as knocking grew more vehement.
"Coming!" She called softly, the knocking, more like banging, went still.
"Sorry for the wait." She said, bracing herself as she slid the door open and almost had a heart attack, literally. Weak heart remember?
A tall male loomed over her omniously. White hair with black along the back, pale skin, and gray eyes bore into Hinata as a flash of color exploded across her eyes as soon as their gazes met.
A horrible lurching was in her chest. She gasped in pain and tried to touch it, however it seemed she was immobilized by an unseen force.
It was nighttime, why was she in the middle of a forest?
A quick glance told her she was 14 maybe 15.
So why did these woods look so familiar?
"Yuki? Tohru? It's getting late." The words escaped her lips involuntarily.
Hinata mentally wrinkled her eyebrows.
Who was Tohru?
"Okay Hina-chan!" A sweet voice called back.
Hinata froze, her heart pulsing painfully. She wanted to go to that voice. A voice filled with love, warmth, belonging, familiarity.
She knew this voice.
Suddenly finding control over her limbs, she stumbled through the forest, branches and thorns cutting into her but she didn't care.
She wanted to be with this voice.
She wanted it so much but she didn't even know why.
Hinata's heart ached but she forced herself to pause.
She finally realized why this forest looked so familiar.
It was the same one she was living in.
A sharp crack alerted her she was not alone.
She whipped around to see the boy she had met only moments before.
"Ah, are you lost too?" He drawled.
Hinata slowly nodded.
Yes, she was lost. What was going on?
"My name's Hatsuharu Sohma. What's your name?" He drawled.
"H-Hinata Honda." Was forced from her lips. Honda?
"Ah," his eyes brightened, "so you know?"
"About the curse?"
"Yes."
"Um yes."
Gray eyes bore into her own with intensity before he gave a lazy smile.
"I think I like you shortie."
Inwardly Hinata fumed, she wasn't short in real life but she supposed that her 14-15 year old body was pretty small so she would let it pass.
"How did you get lost?" Hinata asked.
"I have no sense of direction." He said unashamed.
They went quiet as they began to walk.
Hinata was confused and even afraid.
What was happening? She had only looked at the male and suddenly she was here.
Suddenly she realized something.
What if she was so desperate to remember everything, to have more connection with this friendly family, to have had importance in their life...her mind was creating false memories to appease this?
Why was she doing this? She had known for less then a week!
Hinata sighed inwardly and vowed to just let this play out and never mention it to anyone.
The warm glow of the house became visible and a girls excited voice called out to her, a boy yelling at her for getting lost gruffly, ditzy laughter, calm chiding that sounded exactly like Yuki's voice.
Hatsuharu paused and gave her a half smile.
"You shouldn't really wander off like this, you have a lot of people who care about you." He ruffled her hair before going back to the forest.
"Where are you going?" The younger girl asked.
"I'm going to the school to set up some traps." He winked, "That stupid cat is in for a surprise."
He waved and left.
"Hinata there you are, let's go inside." The girls voice was closer, right behind her.
Hinata whipped around trying to see the mystery girls face but just before she could make out blue eyes, her vision went black.
As the girl collapsed, Hatsuharu picked her up easily. Her skin was heating up rapidly, too rapidly to be healthy.
"Momiji." Hatsuharu called.
The blonde wonder walked into the room but picked up his pace when he saw her passed out.
"What happened?" He asked seriously.
"She looked at me and then passed out." Hatsuharu shrugged.
Momiji touched her head and flinched at the warmth but a small smile slowly sneaked up.
"Her first memory was you, huh?" He mused, a little hurt that it wasn't him.
"What are you talking about?" He asked with a wrinkle of his nose.
"Put her on the guest room bed, I can't." He said a little longingly, "I think I have some explaining to do."
