"wow, the town looks so dead" Isabel mumbled in shock as they stood on the path at the outside of the fallen apart town.

"Is everyone already" Armin started to ask in a weak voice as he saw no signs of life in the town, not even a rotten body.

"This town was moved to a safe point when the sickness first came to be known about. The moved the whole town to a further town away in hopes to stop the sickness from becoming to close to the academy" Moblit explained with a small smile calming the others from their darker thoughts. 

"We were rather lucky being told the news of the sickness unlike other places around the world where it just ambushed them without warning. The goverment got this town empty in hopes the academy would be safe and all alone away from any sickness" Hanji mumbled as they started walking, following an old warn muddy path around the town. 

"Then why don't we cut threw the town if its safe, it safe us an hour walk" Eren asked as he turned to the teachers who turned to the other. 

"Idiot" Jean huffed as he slapped Eren arm.

"Don't forget the school already had a student catch the sickness. Remember what they told us, you can only catch it from someone who has the sickness meaning someone must have caught it and got it to the school. Just becuase this town was cleared doesn't mean it is now" Marco replied with slight worry and Mikasa gave a slight nod in approval.

"But I still want to know how the student got infected, wouldnt the school notice someone else having the sickness before her or did she really sneak out somehow meaning she must have caught it by someone between the academy and this town. It only took her four days to turn meaning four days ago someone with the sickness was around the area we just came yet we saw no one or no bodies. Why didnt the infected person follow her back to the academy or did a guard shoot them but then they would notice the student. Meaning the infected person chose not to go near the academy" Farlan rambled with a hand on his chin as he spoke his thoughts. 

"So what, you think the infected person let the student get away just to infect the school. Knowing she get in having no clue she now had the secret sickness and pass it to all the students. I know mikasa said they targeting souls just to kill the gifted off who being sent to war or to kill them but I thought they had no control over their hate filled minds .. Could they actually plan such an attack" Levi spoke up in slight surprise as he turned to his taller friend before looking to Mikasa.

"This is top secret, one out of hundred seem to be able to think a little. They still have hate filled minds making them want to kill anything and everything but they sly about it. They make semi traps and plans, some even act like leaders and attract other infected people to certain areas where a safe camp been made or towns untouched so far. This is why Safe camps have gone in true hiding, we have to make sure they not easily found even by those not sick. But the public can't be told about the Alfor infects as we call them otherwise it lead to more panic and well someone will act stupidly getting everyone else killed" Mikasa replied in her cold voice but it seemed slightly softer. 

The group walked at a steady pace making sure to keep the sound level low making only whispers allowed. Most of the reason why was becuase Mikasa got fed up listening to the others talk about anything and everything and the other main reason was so she could listen out for others. The town might have be evacuated just over a month ago but people move and so did the infected, she needed to keep an ear out for trouble.  

Half way threw the walk around town they met an issues .. one of the cabins wall had collapse right over the muddy grass and a single tree kept the wooden wall up slightly. The bushes were too over grown and prickly to just walk threw behind the tree.

Mikasa would just get the other to crawl threw the small gap but it didnt look steady enough to hold if someone caught it with their backs by mistake. She tapped the edge wondering if they could just walk over but the wood was rotten and barely sticking together and  she couldn't risk someone falling threw it and having wood stuck in their leg or foot .. the blood my leave a trial.

Glancing to the barely standing cabin that now had half the front wall left, she knew they would have to climb up and go threw town until they can jump back on the bushy muddy grass path again. 

"Look, let me go first and pair up while we walk. The town might be fully safe or it could hold infected inside hiding up. If we do meet with someone who has the sickness then keep your distance and run but keep in pairs or groups .. it easier to kill a single person" Mikasa explained before jumping onto the wooden cabin floor. 

"What about you" Farlan asked uneasy as he jumped up next with Levi before helping the others up.

"I'll do my job and kill them but I can't fight while babysitting you lot" Mikasa answered as she walked over to the other edge looking over the small area of town she could see from her point. 

"But where do we run, your the only one who knows where the safe camp is" Armin asked with worry as he stood with Eren everyone paring with their soul and gifted since the sickness would be trying to kill each other half. 

"I'm sure she meet up with us" Eren replied trying to clam his soul down.

"Or we keep heading in the direction we'll been walking" Marco spoke up as he walked over to Farlan and Levi who stood a little behind mikasa.

"Lets just stop thinking about the worse case or we jinx each other" Jean sighed.

"Is it clear to jump down" Isabel asked as she watched Mikasa jump down since the small steps were broken.

"Seems so" Hanji giggled as Mikasa gave a slight nod.

"I have a bad feeling over this" Moblit mumbled.

Oh how much did Moblit want to say 'I told you so' but as an adult he had to keep it in his head while helping to keep the students and Hanji back while someone crying out was heard. Now normally they all run over to the voice but like they said, the town meant to be empty and the only people close to the town should be those in the academy .. so why would someone else be here. If any survivors who been surviving during these two months should know better then to just be in a town.  

"What should we do" Jean asked as he looked to the two teachers.

"We should help them, they might be hurt if they crying out like that" Isabel replied with worry.

"But why would they be in such a place, we left the academy six hours ago and we already know a town wouldnt be safe" Armin frowned as he looked to the older red hair. 

"could it be a trap" Marco mumbled as he rubbed his neck.

"Lets all clam down" Hanji smiled slightly as she raised her hands a little.

"Being calm wont give us a needed decision" Eren huffed as he crossed his arms.

"But we not soldiers, your all students still in training who hasn't trained for this type of survival" Moblit replied and looked to Mikasa.

"Stay behind me and follow me, its my duty as a soldier to help other survivors and bring them to safety. But its almost my job to kill anyone with the sickness before they fully turn and kill more" Mikasa spoke up as she pulled out her hand gun before turning to the others and pulling out her trench knife that was in the sheath on the back of her belt.

"Your knife" Levi asked as mikasa held her knife out to him.

"Here, if its the infected then run east for a couple hours. You should reach the basic patrol and tell them Mikasa sent you. The knife be for protection, its better then nothing" Mikasa muttered as she Passed Levi her knife. 

"Lets just hope its nothing too bad" Farlan weekly smiled as they started walking.
