Chapter 3

Many weeks passed, and Thunderburst's hope of the Autobot's rescuing her was diminishing. However, even with Starscream's relentless torture and questioning, she would not reveal the location of the Autobot base. Nor would she reveal any weaknesses. The Autobots were her family, and she would rather die than betray them.

Megatron knew this, and he was devising a plan to get her to betray them. He thought about it constantly, but every plan he threw out of his mind. None of them would work.

The warlord paced outside of her cell, trying to figure out how he would break her. He could faintly hear her singing inside the cell. It wasn't uncommon. She had begun doing that within a day or two of being trapped there. She mostly sang lullabies that carriers sang to their sparklings. Suddenly that gave him an idea. An evil, awful idea. A grin crept its way onto Megatron's face and he hurried away, to inform his subordinates of his plan.

Thunderburst let out a quiet breath when she heard Megatron hurry away. She didn't know if he realized that he was noisy when he paced outside her cell, but it always made her nervous. So she would sing songs that her brother often sang to her when she couldn't sleep when she was younger. She narrowed her eyes, more determined than ever to get back to her family. Her brother needed her.

She twisted in her chains, only to get the same result as when she tried the past several times she had attempted to get out of them. She froze when she heard footsteps approaching outside, and watched the door carefully to see if they were coming into her cell.

The door opened, and in walked Knockout and Megatron.

"Come to try and get more information?" Thunderburst spat. Megatron gave her what appeared to be a sweet smile, but Thunderburst knew better than to trust him.

"On the contrary, I am allowing you to have free reign of the ship. Of course, your weapons and comms will be disabled, and there will be two vehicons accompanying you the entire time, unless you are with me. You will also be given your own room."

Thunderburst's eyes narrowed. "Why are you suddenly being nice to me? What's your play?"

Megatron nodded to Knockout, who began his work on disabling the femme's weapons. "No play", he said. "I just realized that you might be more comfortable if you could move about freely than being stuck in here like this."

"What's to stop me from groundbridging out?" Megatron had an answer prepared as Knockout disabled her comms.

"All system's use is monitored by Soundwave, and he has to approve each and every transmission before anyone can bridge out."

Thunderburst glared at him. Knockout stepped away, and Megatron pressed a button on the control panel. The femme fell to the ground. She stumbled, but Megatron grabbed her arm to help steady her. She snatched her arm away and glared at him.

"I know you have something planned. I don't trust you", she spat. "So stay the frag away from me."

"Unfortunately, I will have to accompany to your quarters, and then you may go where you wish, as long as there are two vehicons with you at all times", Megatron said, almost sincerely. Thunderburst continued glaring at him.

"Fine", she spat. "Lead the way, Megabutt."

A brief look of annoyance crossed Megatron's face, but it quickly disappeared as he led her through the winding hallways of the warship. Thunderburst tried to memorize the path they took, but there were too many twists and turns to remember how things went. He stopped at a door, and pressed a button.

"These are your quarters", he told the femme. "The door will remain locked as long as you are in it, so no one can enter in here and use you for their own purposes. To exit, you must press that button, but the doors will not open until either I or two vehicons are outside your door."

Thunderburst stared around the room coldly. It was nice, compared to the cell. There was an actual berth, and it looked like she had her own personal washroom. There were a few shelves here and there, but for the most part it was pretty bare.

"If I'm going to stay in here, I'm going to need two data tablets", Thunderburst said. "One with access to the human internet, so that way I can listen to their music, and so I can keep myself slightly entertained, the other as a journal. You can monitor the one connected to the internet all you want, but my journal must remain private. You can even encrypt it so I can't contact anyone. I don't care, I just need something to do in here."

Megatron hesitated, before he nodded. "As you wish", he said. For some reason, those words sent Thunderburst's spark aflame, and she turned away from the warlord to hide her flustered face. Once she regained her composure, she spoke clearly.

"You can get the frag away from me now."

Once Megatron had left her room, she instantly began searching for a way out. Unfortunately the warlord had been smart and not given her any way to leave except through the door. Thunderburst groaned, and flopped against the berth, trying to figure out how she was going to escape. Any plan that came to mind, she knew Megatron had already thought of, and with Soundwave constantly watching, she wouldn't be able to contact the Autobots whatsoever.

Suddenly, the femme was wishing she took those hacking lessons from Ratchet. Too late now.

A knock on the door startled her out of her thoughts. She sat up, and stared at the door, unsure if she had imagined it or not. She walked over to the door and pressed the button, and sure enough, Megatron was there, holding two datapads, and an energon cube.

"Here are the datapads you requested, as well as an energon cube", Megatron said. Thunderburst narrowed her eyes at him. This was unusual.

"Why are you being so nice?" she blurted out. She mentally slapped herself, ignoring the fact that her spark was beating slightly faster. Megatron sighed softly.

"It was only a matter of time before you asked that", he answered, looking away from her. He fidgeted slightly, and Thunderburst realized he looked... nervous? Anxious? Something that was unusual for the warlord. "And unfortunately I cannot give the answer at this time."

Thunderburst watched him warily, before she stepped out of the way to allow him to place the items he brought down on her desk. He did so, and went to leave the room, but paused.

"Would you care to join me for a tour around the warship later?" he asked, sounding almost genuine. The femme knew better than to trust him.

"Get lost", she spat. Something flashed across Megatron's face, but he merely nodded and left the room. Thunderburst closed the door and leaned against it, letting out a heavy breath of relief. Her spark started to calm down, and her mind instantly went to the datapads. She rushed over to them, and opened the first one. The only thing she had access to was the human internet, which she realized that maybe she could use to her advantage. That was if Soundwave didn't catch on to what she was doing.

She opened the other datapad, and found that it had a notes app on it. Megatron had done exactly as she had asked. She frowned. He had to be planning something. There was no way he was just being nice to her for no reason. That wasn't like him.

She groaned, trying to figure out what was going on with the warlord. She ground her denta, frustration taking over her. "Fine!" she spat as she got up and hit the button repeatedly. There was no response, so she spun around again and sat back down at her desk. The energon cube sat off to the side, and she sighed, and took a sip, only to realize that she was actually really depleted. Megatron hadn't really given her rations previously. Just enough to keep her alive. She chugged the energon, her systems almost cheering in excitement about finally getting the nourishment it needed.

She set the cube down, and wiped away the excess energon that surrounded her derma. Exhaustion over took her, but she tried to keep her systems online. However, sleep eventually won, and she found herself stumbling to her berth. The minute her head was resting against the metal, she was passed out.
