chapter 6
Veer Singh Randhawa👇
Veer's pov
I arrived in Australia last night for a very important deal. I established my own business after college, and last year I also took over my dad's business.
Technically, Dad is not retired, but he gave most of his work stress to me.
I reach Mr. Hemsworth's office for a meeting.
Mr. Jace Hemsworth welcomes me. "Mr. Randhawa, good to see you."
"My pleasure, Mr. Hemsworth," I replied, shaking hands with him.
"Your partner in this project is on her way," Jace said.
"Her? Is she a lady?" I ask.
"Yes, and she is very hardworking and devoted. I consider myself lucky to work with her." Jace replied, and I'm impressed.
"Well, I must want to meet her then. I have so much respect for the ladies who work hard and stand on their own feet without anyone's help." I replied, and honestly, time changed my mentality. Yes, it is hard to believe, but it is.
"There is another specialty. She is from your country as well." Jace replied.
"Really?" I ask, amazed.
"Yes. Oh, here she is." Jace replied, gesturing towards someone, and I turned.
"No fishing way?" I'm shocked.
"YOU?"
"YOU?" We both said it together.
"Never wished to see you here?" I said mockingly, and she rolled her eyes. It's none other than my sworn enemy, Noor Alam Shah.
She didn't react but muttered under her breath, "Allah miyan sabar dain. (God, please give me patience.)"
"You both knew each other?" Jace asked.
"No."
"Unfortunately yes." She said no, and I said yes at the same time.
Jace chuckled and said, "Welcome, Ms. Shah."
"Thank you, Mr. Hemsworth," Noor replied, shaking hands with Jace but not paying any attention to me.
"Mr. Randhawa is your partner in this project. Let's go and discuss inside." Jace said, and her expression changed beyond shock.
Her big eyes will fall out of her sockets at any moment in shock, and I'm fucking enjoying it.
We go inside the meeting room, and we both give our presentations to Jace. First, I gave, then next she gave her presentation, and surprisingly, she gave a wonderful presentation. I'm impressed. What? Impressed? Never?
After the presentation, Jace discusses the project with us, and I can't digest the fact that she will be my partner. Why?
Agh!! But I want this project at any cost. So I have to bear her.
We both sign the contract and shake hands with Jace.
Now, out of courtesy, I have to shake hands with her as well.
So I turned to her and said, while putting a toothy smile on my face, "Haath Mila lo. Ise hmari dushmani pe koi shak na ho wrna hum dono k hath se ye deal jae gii (let's just shake hands. He shouldn't find out about our enmity, or we will lose this contract.)" I purposely said it in Hindi so Jace wouldn't understand a word.
With a blank facial expression, she shakes her hand with me.
Attitude? This Genghis ki poti will never change.
She left first, and I followed her. She is already in the elevator, and I don't want to wait, so I quickly get in.
"No, hi, and hello?" I teased her. She doesn't reply and keeps looking at her phone.
"When you left the school suddenly, I thought your family might admit you to some asylum or something." I mocked and still got no answer.
"So you did achieve what you desired." I said it again, and this time a response came.
"Haa or ye tum jaise mardon k muh pe thapad hai jo sochte hai aurtein sirf ghar sambhalne or bache paida kerne k liye hoti hai (yeah, and it's a slap on the face of those men like you who think women are only meant to do house chores and deliver babies.) She replied sarcastically, I know my mistakes, but never on this earth, I never let her feel that she was right.
"Always exaggerating, aren't you? You are not the only woman who has achieved something." I replied with the same sarcasm and stepped out of the elevator.
I know she might be angry and want to have a verbal argument with me, but nah. I'm not giving her any satisfaction, and on top of that, I'll annoy her daily for almost a month, although I hate her and don't even want to see her.
I drove towards my hotel and had some rest, but I'm feeling alone in this empty hotel room, so I decided to go to a nightclub.
I go to the famous club here in Sydney, and the crowd here is good. I ordered my drink at the bar and decided to stay at the bar counter because I'm going to be pretty drunk tonight.
"One vodka sunrise, please." I ordered the bartender. He gave me my drink, and I gulped it in one go. "Keep going." I said this to the bartender.
Then I noticed a beautiful redhead in a black short dress checking me out. I didn't pay any attention and kept drinking.
Then she came and sat next to me.
"I'll have the same thing he's having." She said in her sweet voice to the bartender.
"You won't be able to handle it." I said, gulping my drink.
"Try me." She replied in a challenging tone. I chuckled when she made a disgusting face while drinking the drink.
"Told you." Saying this, I headed towards the dance floor. I danced my heart out because the DJ was playing fantastic music.
I'm enjoying myself when the redhead starts dancing with me. She is swaying her hips seductively, and her body is brushing with mine.
I tried to back off, but she held my hand, wrapped her arms around my neck instantly, and enclosed the gap between us.
She never stopped grinding herself on me, and her one hand started sliding downward.
I instantly grabbed her hand in a firm hold and said, "You will not get anything from me. So it's better to back off."
"Why not?" She whispered seductively in my ear.
"I might be drunk, but not so much that I let any desperate slut like you get into my pants." I replied coldly and jerked off her hands. She seems offended, but as if I care.
I might be a party animal, but I never sleep around.
She looked at me dumbfounded, but I didn't pay attention to her and left the club.
