chapter 12
Author's pov
The next morning, everyone was discussing finding a solution. Noor is sitting quietly, controlling herself very hard. Not to lose her temper because Sarah literally begged her not to do something impulsive.
"I never expected such a thing from your son, Qureshi Sahab (Mr. Qureshi). It's a matter of my sister's life. How could he say such words to her?" Shahzaib said, controlling his anger. "My sister cried because of him."
"Shahzaib, but he liked Noor....." Inayat's grandmother tried to say it, but Noor cut her off.
"He doesn't like me. It's just the physical attraction he felt. Nothing else......" Noor is saying, but Shahana Begum glares at her.
"Noor." She said in a warning tone to keep her quiet, and Noor kept quiet with a clenched jaw. "Bde batt ker rhe hai na. (Elders are talking.)"
"Dekhe Shahana Begum. Humai Laiba bahut pasand hai lekin Ab bache ko Laiba pasand nhi to zabrdasti to nhi ker skte. (Look, Shahana Begum. We like Laiba so much, but if our son doesn't like Laiba, then we can't force him.)" Saad's grandmother said
"But..." Masooma tried to say, but Inayat's mother interrupted.
"Laiba will surely find someone better. But Saad like Noor." She said.
"That's why we are thinking about asking for Noor's hand for Saad." Saad's grandfather said, and Noor got up from her seat.
"It's not some kind of deal to negotiate." Noor said it in disbelief.
"Noor," Shahzaib said, giving her a glare.
"What, Noor Bhaijan? First, they talked with Laiba and built feelings in her heart for their good-for-nothing son. Now suddenly they want me? Seriously? After all this, you are letting them sit here and talk? Unbelievable." Noor roared.
"Ismai galat kya hai? Masla to ye hai na k shadi iss ghar ki beti se ho. To kya frk pdta hai, Noor ho ya Laiba. (What's wrong with this? The main thing is to marry this house's daughter. Then why does it matter if she is Noor or Laiba??" Saad's father said, and it enraged Shahzaib as well.
"My sisters are not some object, Qureshi sahab." He spoke in a warning tone.
"Per Saad....."
"Do the hell with your Saad. Who the hell is he? He rejected Laiba on what basis? His pathetic eyes found me more beautiful; that ungrateful person is ready to leave his own betrothed. OK then. I'm rejecting him." Noor roared.
"Ldki awaz niche. Kya kami hai hmare bete mai? Khud ko khushnaseeb smjho jo usne tumhai chuna. (Lower your voice, girl. What lacks in our son? Consider yourself lucky that he chose you.)" Inayat's grandmother said it arrogantly.
"Khushnaseeb? Huh?" Noor gave a sarcastic chuckle. "Aap logon ko apki hi zubaaan mai smjhati hu. Kami kaha na apne. Kami kya hai usmai? Toh khubi bi kya hai? Kya hai usmai jo wo meri brabri ker ske? Chle chode ek smjhdar insaan to wo hai hi nhi or na hi aap log. Toh ek sacha or samjhdar shareek-e-hayat kya hota hai aap nhi smjh skte. Toh mai woh kami btati hu jo aap jaiso ko smjh aae gii. Woh ghatiya insaan meri brabri ka hai bi nhi. Akele itna naam kmaya hai maine k Har shakhs janta hai Noor Alam shah kon hai. Puri duniya janti hai Noor k naam ko. Per apke doo kodi k ldke ko in chaar deevaro k bahr koi nhi janta. Kya ukhad rkha hai usne aisa jo wo meri jaisi or meri behn jaisi ldki deserve kere?"
(Lucky? Huh? I'll tell you all in your tongue. You said lack. What does he lack, right? Then what virtue does he have? What does he have so he can be equal to me? Let's just leave it because he is not a sensible person, and neither are you. So you all don't know what a sensible and loyal life partner looks like. So let me enlighten the lacks that can be understood by people like you. That wretched person is not equal to my status. Alone by myself, I gained so much name and respect that every single person knows who Noor Alam Shah is. The whole world knows Noor's name. But no one knows your so-called son's name outside these four walls. What he had achieved was that he deserves a girl like me or my sister.)"
Noor said, and everyone in her family is proud but shocked by her last words.
Shahana Begum is so proud of her granddaughter that she herself agreed and asked, "Please answer my granddaughter. You were all saying something?" She asks, but they don't have the words to say anything.
Noor didn't pay much attention to them and stormed out.
"Ye tarbiyat dii hai apne ise? (Is this what you taught her?)" Saad's grandmother asks, still arrogantly.
"She is not wrong, and I'll not marry any of my sisters to your son." Shahzaib declared.
"OK, then we broke Inayat's engagement as well. We only agreed to this relation so our both kids get married in the same family." Inayat's grandfather said, and Aadhil and Inayat are shocked.
"Dadajan?" Inayat asked in disbelief.
"If Noor can't marry your brother, then you can't marry her brother." Her grandmother said it arrogantly.
"We can discuss..." Aadhil tried to say something.
"Already so much is said and heard." Inayat's father interrupted and dragged her out. Followed by the entire family.
"Yaa Allah." Masooma cried and sat on the couch, holding her head.
"Ammi." Sarah is worried, and Laiba is just crying. Aadhil is shocked by what just happened.
"They were not interested in our kids. They were just interested in our name, fame, and money." Shahana Begum said.
On the other hand, Noor comes into the office fuming in anger, and a parcel adds more fuel to her anger.
The moment she stepped inside There is a parcel lying on her desk.
She frowned and opened it.
It's a cactus plant inside with a note.
Noor read that note.
"For genghis khan ki poti.
If I want, I can deliver it myself, but I'm couriering it. Just to let you know, if you refuse, then I'll come to you by myself because I know the address.
So to avoid all this, it's better if you come yourself this evening at 5 o'clock sharp in CCD.
I want to talk to you.
Come on time, and don't let me come to you."
It says. Noor crushed that note and threw away the cactus on the floor with a loud thud.
