A New Friendship
A/N: Hello everyone. I'm back with another fic. As you can see in the title as well, this one's an AU. I'm not gonna get into explaining as to what it is since I am afraid it'll ruin the fun of it. I will try my best to refrain from making the characters OOC but please forgive me if that accidentally happens. One last thing, Inazuma Eleven and its characters do not belong to me. The story and it's plot belongs to me so please do not copy or repost without permission. That's all. Hope you'll enjoy the story. :)
The afternoon sun shone brightly in the sky with all its fury but the young prince was unaffected by it. He rested nonchalantly under the shade of a giant sakura tree in his huge royal garden which was full of all kinds of beautiful plants and flowers. Some of the items there were so extremely rare and exotic that they could not be found anywhere else in the country. They were collected from all over the world to be added to the royal garden. A huge fountain was located in what seemed like the center of the garden. It was hard to figure out the exact center as the area in which the garden spread seemed to be unfathomable.
The prince looked around to find a new thing of interest since he was bored with continuously kicking the ball around which he had been doing for the past hour. This ball was a gift from the Emperor, his father, on his eighth birthday. He had specially ordered his people to bring it for the prince from a different country when he noticed that nothing was able to keep the prince's attention for long. Fortunately, this did the trick and he didn't get bored with it in a day. Even after weeks, he was still playing with it and he showed no intentions of leaving it anytime soon.
Suddenly he heard some rustling in the nearby bushes of Chrysanthemums. He was startled a bit but he maintained his calm demeanor.
"Who's there?!" He said in a loud voice, trying to sound authoritative; but he succeeded only as much as an eight year old can. To his surprise, it wasn't anyone threatening that came out of that bush. It was a girl about his age with long brown hair and brown eyes just like his. Her clothes were ordinary and did not look as shiny and new as the prince's gold lined red robe. She looked a little scared, probably because she thought she had angered the prince. Looking at her, his frown turned into a smile.
"Who are you?" He asked politely.
"M-my name is Riye. My father works for the emperor..u-umm...your father that is." She replied a little incoherently, avoiding eye contact.
"What were you doing in those bushes?" The prince tried to further the conversation.
"I was looking at those flowers. They are very pretty." She answered with some hesitation and added quietly, "This garden is very pretty."
"Well you can come here anytime. Nice to meet you, Riye." He extended his hand as a sign of offering his friendship, "I am..."
"Everybody knows who you are. You're the prince of inazuma kingdom." She replied with a grin while taking his extended hand in hers. In that moment, a friendship was struck between two kids, innocent to the differences between them, and their destinies.
"Want to play with me?" He said while kicking the ball again, "look it's so fun." She looked intently at the ball. She hadn't seen anything like that before; no one in the entire kingdom had. She tried to understand the way he was kicking it around and found it interesting. Seeing her interested, he kicked the ball slowly towards her giving her a chance to play. She hesitated at first but then kicked the ball with all her might. It went farther than expected, hitting a porcelain bowl full of water that was kept there to attract the birds. It tipped to a side, spilling some water but to her relief, it did not break.
"I am so sorry for that. I did not mean for it to happen." She frantically started apologizing.
"It's alright." He responded not fazed by what just happened. "Let me teach you how to do it properly." He added and went on to demonstrate how to kick it so that it doesn't cause any destruction. She carefully followed all his instructions and they kept playing like that for a long while. Suddenly a voice interrupted them.
"Kira! What are you doing here?!" Exclaimed a man.
"F-father?" She mumbled, looking in the direction of the voice.
"I thought I told you to work on your archery. How did you sneak in here?" He asked angrily. Then he turned to the prince and he bowed down, sitting on one knee, in front of him, "Forgive her your highness for behaving so disrespectfully to you."
"N-no she wasn't..." The prince muttered but his sentence melted into silence as he was confused about what was happening.
Her father then took her hand and hastily took her away from there. She glanced back one last time and found the prince looking at her distancing further away from him with each step. He smiled when he saw her looking back and in return, she did too.
A/N: Sooo I was totally ready to make this a reader fic but when I actually did start writing I felt like the blanks (f/n,h/c,e/c) will ruin the flow of the story and I was too lazy to make an OC for the readers again so as a last resort I used my own OC. If that bummed ya out,I'm sorry. Please don't hate me or this story.
