Chapter 9

Word count: 3052. So of course, I couldn't proof read it. Tell me if you find any mistakes.

The bond between Jeongguk and his parents has always been very tender. The word "tender" defined how fragile things have always been with him. When they were gifted with such an amazing blessing that was Jeongguk, they couldn't be happier. They could never have asked for more. Maybe that was reason why they never tried to have another child. As silly as the reason was, they didn't want to share their for Jeongguk. They wanted to keep their undivided attention only to him. Of course everyone around them argued that once they have more kids they'll come to love them equally. But they didn't want to gamble when it came Jeongguk. They wanted to give him anything and everything.

And as time progressed they realised how right their decision was. As Jeongguk came of age when he changed into his wolf for the first time, they found out that he was an Alpha. Their happiness knew no boundry. They didn't believe into the orthodox that the child of two Alphas should also be an Alpha. They would have been equally happy if by any chance their son was to be a Beta or even an Omega. But being an Alpha wolf meant more power. A power to protect himself better from the dangers that lurked in this harsh world. So yes they were very pleased.
But their happiness was shortlived. Jeongguk's wolf left him as soon as he took control for the first time. Jeongguk was left heart broken. It wasn't the fact that his wolf left him that broke him, it was his reason for leaving. He left their son stating that he wasn't strong enough for him. And what could they do for him? Nothing.

After everything he was going through, he had to endure more. Jeongguk was in highschool when they found out that their son was being bullied. Of course the girl around him always fancied him. After all he was handsome, rich, kind, all the things that a girl desired in a guy. But that wasn't the case for the guys. They envied him for getting all the attention regardless of his flaw. They realised how pathetically they had failed as parents. Their son was hurting all this time and they had no idea. The instantly took all the measures. The kids who did that to their son were immediately punished. They moved him to a different school and ensured his safety all the time. They could maybe fix the physical damage, but what about the emotional scars he was left with? Again they could do nothing.

Their son was perfect. He was a little ball of sunshine. He never complained or threw a fit. Always ever obedient, always sweet, always respectful. He never did anything that could hurt others yet he was so brutally hurt by the Moon Goddess. They traveled around, visited every Witch, every Elder of renowned packs to look for a solution, a way to bring Jeongguk's wolf back but they only faced disappointment. They all said the same thing, that it's not like his wolf is dead so that they could bring him to life through some old magic. The wolf has chosen to leave. He will only come back if he decides to do so. And god knows it's been years and his wolf still didn't choose to come back.

Since that time Sangook and Hana did everything in their power to make their son happy. And even though Jeongguk told them he was fine. That he was happy. They knew he wasn't. They knew he blamed himself everyday for not being strong enough.

Things changed today though. A new light of happiness has shone upon Sangook and Hana. Their son had found his mate. They saw him smile again, genuinely for the first time in forever and Hana was determined to never let that smile fade away. She going to hold on tight to this opportunity Moon Goddess has given them. Her son was going to be happy again. She'll make sure to it.

"The Man who brought our son in... I mean the who brought the patient Jeongguk, he filled all the forms too right? The ones you make us fill before admitting a patient." Hana inquired the woman on the reception desk.

"Yes mam he did. What about it?" The woman answered politely. Hana mentally fist pumped herself in her head as an exciting spread across her face.

"Could you please give us that form. We never got the chace to properly thank him." Hana said, smiling sweetly, keeping her intentions to herself.

"Of course mam." The woman said as she rummaged through the file that kept all the forms. It was against their policy to share this information so she didn't see any issue with that. Since Jeongguk was admitted today only she didn't have to look much as she soon found the form and handed it to Hana who clicked a photo of the it and handed it back to her right after. Thanking her with a small bow, Hana and Sangook look their leave as they had a mission to accomplish.

"Okay we may more than we need but I won't be digging in too much. Calling him beforehand was be more sensible yet awkward. He may not even agree to seeing us cause he could be shy. So let's just go to his home." Hana spoke so fluently that Sangook doubted that was quite experienced in all this. Like she did this everyday. And honestly it made her even more adorable to Sangook. He chuckled glancing at her side in the passenger seat as he saw how concentratedly she was gawking at her phone screen.

"Okay I've entered the address in the GPS so just follow the directions." She said looking very proud by her work.

"As you say mam." Sangook said with a titter. Their way to Taehyung's house was filled with chatter. Or maybe one sided conversation? As Hana went on about how everything is going to change for the good now, how she herself will plan perfect dates for Jeongguk and Taehyung, all Sangook did was listen silently and hummed after every suggestions she made. It was good to see her happy. Sangook was already very fond of Taehyung. He is the reason his family is happy again.

They couldn't say it was easy to find Taehyung's house. Sure they did have his address, but there were several houses next to his. They had to ask around but their efforts didn't go to vain. They were now standing right outside Taehyung's house with anticipation bubbling in their stomachs. It was only after they rang the doorbell that they start getting nervous. As clean as their intentions were, they did kind of intrude Taehyung's privacy. Now that this realization dawned upon them, they contemplated if they should just go back now. But then they reminded themselves they were here for Jeongguk and backing up now would be stupidity. If they will end up facing embarrassment or accusations, they were confident they could bear that much for their son.

Hana almost shrieked when the speaker next to the surveillance camera outside boomed to life as a voice soon came out of it.

"I don't think I recognise your faces Sir and Miss. Who would you be?" Mrs Park spoke from inside the house as she tried to identify their unfamiliar faces.

"We have come to speak with Kim Taehyung. We are Jeongguk's parents." Sangook answered as he stared right into the camera installed outside.

"Y-You are who?" Mrs Park stuttered out. After working for Taehyung for four years Mrs Park knew quite a bit about him. Taehyung had spoken to her about his mate Jungkook on countless of occasions. He would often tell her about many precious moments he had spent with him. Although he did refrain himself from telling her anything about his family. About how he lost him. So seeing Jungkook's parents standing outside right now, was very shocking to her. She didn't recall Taehyung mentioning anything about their visit today.

"We're Jeongguk's parents." It was Hana who spoke this time. Mrs Park didn't think twice as he opened the gate immediately. She then rushed to open the door to the house as she didn't want make them wait anymore than already did. With hurried steps she hastily made her way towards them as she stood right before them.

"I'm really sorry Mr and Mrs Jeon to keep you waiting. I was just taken aback by your sudden visit."  Mrs Park apologize as he bowed in respect, while Sangook and Hana look at her in confusion.

"Jeon? We are not Jeon. Our family name is Gwan." Hana said as Mrs Park scrunched her brow in confusion. She didn't ponder much though and just invited them in. She didn't want to come out rude by interrogating them right away.

"Mr Kim is in his room. I'll go inform him about your arrival. Please take a seat." Mrs Park gestured at the couch in the hall. Hana and Sangook felt very pleased with her gentle behaviour. They felt as if she already knew who they were. Maybe Jeongguk told Taehyung about them and then he told her. That idea was even more pleasing. As Mrs Park made her way upstairs, Mr and Mrs Gwan took that time to let their eyes wander around the house.

Taehyung was still deep in his sleep with Taejung laying on top of him. As much as she hated the idea of breaking their peaceful slumber, Mrs Park had to wake him up. Taehyung's In-laws were waiting outside, and he would hate her if he found out later that she made them wait for him, while he was taking his beauty sleep. So with heavy heart she extends her hand to shake Taehyung awake. Being a light sleeper, Taehyung jerks up immediately, waking up Taejung in the process.

"I'm sorry to break your peaceful rest but Jungkook's parents are here Taehyung. They are waiting outside in the hall to meet you." Mrs Park explains while Taehyung starts rubbing his eyes with one hand to shake away his sleep while his other held held Taejung firmly who was still cuddled up to Taehyung while trying to open his half lidded eyes.

"Who's here?" Taehyung asks as sways Taejung from side to side while simultaneously caressing his back.

"Jungkook's parents." She said.

"Repeat yourself." Taehyung demands.

"Jungkook's parents." She repeated.

"Are you kidding with me right now? How can they.." As Taehyung went about to tell her that Jungkook's parents can't be here cause they're dead already, he's hit with a realization that Jungkook isn't the only Jungkook he knows anymore. There's a Jeongguk in his life now.

"It can't be. What are they doing here? How do they know where I live?" Taehyung mutters to himself as he gets up from his bed with Taejung still attached to him. He tries detaching Taejung from him to hand him to Mrs Park but he starts whining as he holds tighter.

"Taejung go to Mrs Park, Eomma will be right back." Taehyung tries to reason with him but Taejung shakes his head as he doesn't loosen his grip. Taehyung could feel that Taejung's wolf was still scared and restless. So Taehyung didn't try again and made his way downstairs while carrying Taejung in his arms.

As Taehyung ascended downstairs, Mr and Mrs Gwan whipped their heads towards him when they heard his approaching steps. With huge smiles plastered on their faces they stared fondly at Taehyung's figure.

"Oh we're very sorry to disturb your rest. We're Jeongguk's parents. It's so good to see, you look very lovely. And who is this Young Gentleman? Your brother?" Hana asked while Taehyung raised their brows at them. Taejung also turned his head to look at them.

"How do you know where I live?" That's the first thing Taehyung asks them.

"Oh! From the form you filled in the hospital, you know, to get the treatment for Jeongguk started." Hana answered with a smile as if it was the normal thing to do.

"I did?" Taehyung asked more to himself as he couldn't recall filling any such thing. To be honest with himself he didn't really remember anything at all. His mind was too messed up at the time.

"We never got to thank you properly. If it wasn't for you who knows how much more Jeongguk would have been hurt. We cannot thank you enough for what you did." Sangook said as Hana nodded her head fervently.

"H-How is Teacher Jeongguk?" Taejung stuttered out, seriously concerned about Jeongguk's health.

"Oh he's perfectly fine honey. We still didn't get your introduction. If you don't mind giving one of course." Hana spoke in a sweet voice as he smiled at Taejung.

"My name is Kim Taejung. I'm four years old. I study in kindergarten." Taejung quickly introduced himself as he had been taught to. Hana and Sangook couldn't but laugh at how cute he was. They were hit with the feeling of nostalgia as Taejung reminded them so much of Jeongguk. He even looked so much like Jeongguk.

"Oh my he's adorable. Is he your brother?" There were so many things that angered Taehyung right now. The fact that they had intruded his privacy without his consent. The fact that they had no ounce of regret and kept throwing questions at him. But most of all, how they called his son his brother.

"Brother?! No he's not my brother, he's.."

"Oh, then is he your cousin? Or maybe your nephew?" Hana asked playfully for the sake of Taejung.

"No?! Why would propose such thing. He's my son. My flesh and blood. He's mine!"  Taehyung didn't want to be rude like this, but you just don't test his patience with it comes to his son. He was the most precious thing in his life.

After his outburst, Hana and Sangook were starting at him in disbelief. And on the other Taejung was scared by Taehyung's sudden outrage. Taehyung noticed this and turned to Mrs Park.

"Take him upstairs Mrs Park. I'll be there when I'm done." Taehyung ordered in a voice that said "no place of argument". Even Taejung didn't utter a work of protest as he silently went upstairs with Mrs Park.

"Y-Your son?" Hana asked in a stuttering voice. Of course there was only one conclusion that could be drawn from Taehyung's claim but Hana didn't want to belive that. She wanted to lay her trust in Jeongguk's mate who she had only met today.

"Yes he's my son." Taehyung repeated himself. He wasn't even a tiny scared of admitting this. No, he was proud of being a father. No matter what judgement Jeongguk's parents might form of him, he was not going cower bank and lie.

"B-But Jeongguk...your mate...you only met recently...and he..." Hana couldn't form words. She didn't know herself what she wanted to say. What she wanted to ask. If Taejung had been a toddler or just a year old or something then they could have drawn a possibility that maybe he was his Jeongguk's son and Jeongguk lied about meeting recently. But the child looked about the age of 4-5, so that possibility was completely out of question. So there was only one thing Hana could think of.

"W-Was he an accident? You know a m-mistake. Did.." Taehyung was losing every whit of his patience. They had no idea the amount of self control he was trying to muster to not lash out at them right.

"You invaded my privacy, you kept throwing questions at me from the moment you stepped foot in my house, yet I would have forgiven you for all of this. But you dare call my son a mistake? An accident? How could you muster such audacity? You know what, before I lose my patience, leave. Get out of my house." Taehyung grit his teeth as he delivered his words as "calmly" as he could.

"So you're implying, you willing have a son from another man? That you're mated to someone else?" Hana asked as anger started building up in her veins.

"Yes, Taejung is the fruit of our love. Yes I'm mated to someone else. Yes, I'm in love with someone else." The sound of the slap resonated throughout the hall. The sound was so sharp that Taehyung was positive it was going to leave a mark. It also meant that they believed in each and every word of his.

"You're pathetic. How old are you? 22? 24? You couldn't wait some years for your mate? You could've dated someone and Goddess knows it wouldn't have mattered if you were a virgin or not. But you went as far as mating with someone else when you knew that one day you'll find your destined mate. Do you know how much you're going to hurt Jeongguk when he finds out about this? My baby is already so broken, but you want to completely shatter him. You're a pathetic man Taehyung, pathetic." Oh it hurt so much to hear these words. Taehyung felt like someone was piercing his heart. The slap could never compare to the verbal rebuke. But Taehyung had to endure it. He knew Jeongguk was through worse. And he was doing all this only for Jeongguk's safety. He has to push just a bit harder.

"When he finds out? Oh he already knows about this. Why should I keep it a secret? I'm not ashamed of what I did. I'm very happy with my mate. Your son can be happy too. Ask him to find someone for him as well. Goddess knows these bonds don't matter." Taehyung shrugged off as he turned away from them. Turned away so they can't see the pain in his eyes. Turned away so they can't see the tears building in his eyes.

"Oh he will. Moon Goddess will give him someone who will love and cherish him. Not someone pathetic like you. You don't deserve my son." That was the last words Hana said as she and Sangook strode away from there.

"I know I don't deserve him."
