Chapter 8

Again. Point out the mistakes if you see any. Enjoy!

His pace was steady, yet his actions miscalculated. As Taehyung rang the doorbell of his house he became more aware of his surrounding. It was strange how he didn't remember how he got here. One moment he was lost in the sensation of kissing his mate and in the other, he stood here, waiting for the door to open. As the beautiful face of Mrs Park came into his vision Taehyung couldn't muster enough energy to greet her. He gave her a small tight lipped smile as he looked around the hall for his son. Not seeing him there didn't make him anxious as he could feel that he was close. As he advanced towards the staircase to go to his room but he was stopped by Mrs Park.

"Should I get you something to change into Mr Kim? You haven't yet taken your laundry upstairs so you still have some of your clothes down here." Mrs Park offered which made Taehyung look at her as if she had grown two heads. She said nothing in reply as she scanned his body with her eyes and Taehyung followed suit.

"Fuck!" Taehyung cursed under his breath as he noticed how he had been roaming around everywhere in nothing but a robe. A Magenta colored robe no less. He was surprised how he wasn't already arrested for being a fashion terrorist. His underwear did help him in hiding "something" at least. He sighed as he plopped down on the chair near him and brought his hand up to massage his temple to ease the headache that was suddenly more painful.

"Yes please." Taehyung said, and that much was enough for Mrs Park to leave the hall and come back with some sweats and t-shirt. Taehyung thanked her and made his way to the bathroom. While he was at it he even took a quick shower to wash off the exhaustion and blood. After he was done, he didn't waste a minute to make his way upstairs. He opened the door to his room very slowly in an attempt to not make any noise in case Taejung was sleeping. And indeed he was. This was not his bedtime, but Taehyung was grateful to see his baby rest. He knew it wouldn't have been easy to put him at ease with all the things he had witnessed today but this is why he was so thankful to have Mrs Park. She was no less than a mother to Taejung.

With small, inaudible steps Taehyung walked towards his bed and got in. He gently scooped Taejung in his arms and placed him on top of him. He then wrapped his arms around him as he took a deep breath to take in the scent of his son. Like every other mother he loved how his son smelt. Of baby powder and baby oil. Just "babyish" if he could say. The way the scent of their mother calmed a baby, in the same way the scent of Taejung calmed him. He smiled in contentment as he finally started to feel less stressed. Less tensed. His headache started to die down. His heartache started to hurt less. Being a mother was the best feeling in the world for Taehyung.

And so was for Hana. She didn't leave Jeongguk for a second after she was done with the paper works to get a VIP room in the hospital for him. She couldn't believe how careless his husband was for not carrying his IDs around with him. After Jeongguk was shifted from the ICU she kept stuffing his mouth with everything the nurses asked to feed him. She didn't let him leave a bite in his plate.

As for Jeongguk who kept fighting his groggy memories, slowly started to remember everything he saw in his half conscious state and before he left his consciousness. He could now recall that the big white wolf that saved him was actually Taehyung. He could remember how Taehyung placed him on his lap. The mere thought of being in such close proximity with his mate made blush. All the blood in his body flushed north, tinting his face red. But most of all, he recalled the sensation of having his mate's lips on his knuckles. His hands on his forehead. His lips against his.

He jerks up on his bed as he starts breathing a bit heavily. His heartbeat accelerates as the memory kept sending sparks throughout his body. He cursed himself for not opening his eyes when it happened. For not pulling him in. For not holding him still so he could devour the sensation a bit more while he could. Oh he hated himself right now.

While Jeongguk was making a trip down his memory lane his parents were surprised by his sudden change of behaviour. Their son was resting peacefully in his bed, then all of a sudden he sits up abruptly. Starts smiling like a fool for a while then begins to curse under his breath for no apparent reason. They were starting to believe that their son might have hit his head somewhere a bit too hard. Their suspicions went from, "Maybe it's just a side effect of his medication" to "Have our son gone insane to a point where he doesn't know two and two adds up to four?"

"He k-kissed me. Me! He kissed me!" Jeongguk shouts out of blue. Instead of being surprised, his parents sigh in relief. "Well a kiss is better than going insane." They thought.

"Congratulations!" They say in unison and soon realise how stupid that sounded.

"I..I mean who kissed you baby?" His mother asks for the both of them.

"My mate! He kissed me. He did it while I was asleep. Oh god I can't belive it." Jeongguk bounced in his bed in excitement while his parents looked at him with confusion and mixed emotions.

"Your mate? You've found your mate? Why didn't you tell us until now." Sang-Ook inquired while Jeongguk turned to face him with a huge smile still plastered on his face.

"Yes I found him. It's not been long since I did. And well, the topic just didn't come up." Jeongguk answered with his high spirits.

"Wait him? A male? Man?" Sang-Ook asked utterly confused.

"Yes him, he. So?" Jeongguk said with a pointed look. Things between his mate and him weren't good already. Who was he kidding? Things were horrible. So the last thing he wanted was for his parents to be homophobic.

"So nothing! No homo bro. Haha." His father joked while Jeongguk and his mother both narrowed his eyes at him with a disgusted look on their faces. Oh his sense of humor sucked.

"But wasn't your ideal type IU? I mean I can still remember your teenage years when you confidently claimed that she was your mate." His mother said.

"I was teenager a back then Mom. I mean did you actually believe I was going to end up with IU? She's an Idol." Jeongguk said recalling his teenage years. Oh he was definitely head over heels for IU. It wasn't until last week that he teared down her posters from his room. Of course he had to. He had met his mate. Everything felt stupid after he met him. His feelings for her felt like naivety. It made him laugh that how much of a fool he was to mistake his "fanboying" for love. Oh he never loved her. Infatuated maybe but love? No. Love is what he feels for Taehyung. He is whipped for his mate.

"Look at him smiling like a love sick puppy again." Hana said as she chuckled looking at his son. Jeongguk blushed harder, tilting his head down.

"I mean, if you meet him you'll be blown away. He's so beautiful. So mesmerizing. So strong." Jeongguk muttered the last words as he was reminded how weak he was compared to Taehyung. How unworthy. He was the Alpha among them yet his strength couldn't even be compared to an Omega. While his mate who was just an Omega wolf overpowered probably every Alpha in existence. He was perfect. While Jeongguk felt like he had nothing but flaws.

"He was the one protected me. He saved my life." Jeongguk said, his voice filled with pride for his mate.

"Saved you life? Oh my god, He was your mate?! Kim Taehyung?!" Hana exclaimed excitedly. Suddenly everything started to piece together. Taehyung being protective. Protecting Jeongguk even against them. How worried he was for Jeongguk. Now everything made sense. His each and every actions were completely understandable. Taehyung is Jeongguk's mate so of course he was being protective of him.

"How do you know his name? You've met him?" Jeongguk asked scrunching his eyebrows with confusion.

"Oh yes! He have. Honey remember the guy who tried to attack us when we came to see Jeongguk? Who you mistook for a woman?" Hana explained to Sang-Ook who soon recalled his face too.

"Oh yes I remember now." Sangook declared.

"Oh you're right Jeongguk. He is indeed very beautiful. And if I concentrate properly then probably the most beautiful young man I've ever layed my eyes on. A strange sense of fashion but that doesn't really matter. He is perfect for you." Hana spoke with adoration while Jeongguk's heart swelled with pride hearing his mother talk so fondly of his mate. But soon her words hit him. "Perfect for me? Oh I don't deserve him. He deserves so much better. Oh well, he already has someone better" Jeongguk thought in his mind as his heart ached at the thought of his mate being with someone else. He smiled bitterly as he turned his head away from his parents and layed down on the bed.

"I just wish he was here right now." Jeongguk muttered under his breath as he tried to satisfy himself with just the memories of Taehyung. He felt his eyes drooping as sleep soon succumbed him. What Jeongguk thought to be a silent whisper was something his mother heard very clearly. She smiled adoringly at her son as she got up from her chair. With a determination to fulfill with son's small wish she made her way out of the room as his husband followed her with a confused stare.

"Where are you going Hana?" Sangook asked.

"We were a bit late in getting here Sangook. So it was Taehyung who did the paper works for Jeongguk for his emergency treatment." Hana stated.

"I don't think I understand what you're trying to say. So what if Taehyung did the paperwork?" Sangook asked.

"That means he must have written his residential address in the form too." She explained again.

"And?" Sangook trailed off.

"And that means we know where he lives. Let's go get our son his mate for him" Hana said with a smile.
