Chapter 11
Not proof read.
After two days of getting discharged and resting at home, Jeongguk was ready to get back to work and he couldn't be more excited. Excited to meet up with Taehyung and talk. He was expectant that they would settle a deal between them. Of course he knew he would be a very bad person by trying to make a married man cheat with him but he wanted to be selfish for once. If Taehyung could be selfish for his happiness why couldn't he. These were the thoughts with which he was trying to justify his future actions. Today was special so he had to dress extra special. He decided he had to look more manly and titillating. His actions have to suggestive, and bold in order to convince Taehyung to agree to his deal.
Jeongguk put on a black deep v-neck shirt that exposed his slightly toned chest. Pairing it with black skinny jeans, that hugged with legs tightly, defining his thick thighs. Jeongguk did work out quite a lot. His wolf that always rejects him stating that he wasn't strong enough for him, pushed him to edge. He did everything in his power to get stronger, but everything was in vain. It gained him nothing but some muscles which were quite contrasting to his baby face. But Jeongguk couldn't afford to look like a baby today. So he said goodbye to coconut head as he parted his hairs and set them I place using some hair spray. His makeover was done for the day and he was satisfied with his work. What he was concerned about was how to good to the summer school looking like this. He would be scolded for dressing inappropriately and Goddess knows he can't afford to get fired. That would loose him, his one chance at seeing Taehyung. So he decided to throw a blazer on top of his shirt. And perfect! He looked like a top notch billionaire ready to swoop girls and guys off their feet. No idea about dressing inappropriately, but he was definitely over dressed. But anything for love he thought and left for work taking a deep breath.
Jungkook could safely declare rain check on all his plans as he saw that it wasn't Taehyung who had come to drop off Taejung today but some elderly man in his late 50s. His mood dropped as he frowned in disappointment. But that same frown started curving up in a smile as he saw Taejung running up towards him with a big smile on his face. Jeongguk strangely felt content at seeing the little the guy. He knelt down on his knees to be on level with Taejung and his eyes went wide in surprise as he was engulfed in a hug by him. His smile got wider as he wrapped his hands around the boy as well. He took a deep breath to whiff at the scent of Taejung and strangely he smelt like home. And right at this moment he felt like a despicable person, who was trying to wreck a happy family. A child's family who wrapped in his arms. He hugged Taejung tightly as he felt guilt eating at him.
"I'm sorry." Jeongguk muttered. Taejung had no idea what his teacher was sorry for.
"It's okay." Taejung also had no idea what he was forgiving him for. But it felt like his words were enough to put a smile on Jeongguk's face. They pulled away as Jeongguk patted his head.
"Why this sudden change of behaviour huh?" Jeongguk asked teasingly.
"I'm sorry too. I hurt you that day. I do wrong. You are not bad guy. But I'm a bad boy." Taejung muttered sadly with his head tilted down.
"You did nothing wrong. It wasn't your fault that the boar tried to attack you. You didn't ask me to help you. So don't blame yourself yeah?" Jeongguk assured him and Taejung nodded his head in reply.
"I see your Appa didn't come to drop you off today." Jeongguk said with disappointment in his voice.
"No he had work. Granpa drop me today." Taejung explained as they started making their way to class hand in hand.
"Oh. Your father must be busy with work I reckon. Seeing that he never comes to drop you to school." Jeongguk said as he took off Taejung's bag pack from his shoulder and placed it under his desk. Taejung seated himself on his small bench as he began to reply Jeongguk.
"My other Appa? How can he come, he not here with us anymore." Taejung stated.
"Is he out of town?" Jeongguk asked.
"Town? No. He's in heaven." Taejung answered truthfully.
"H-Heaven? What do you mean? H-He's very much alive right?" Jeongguk's mind was a web of confusion right now. He couldn't believe what he hearing right now. Taehyung's mate is dead?!
"No, A-Appa died before I came to world. Appa not here with us anymore." Taejung cried out sadly as tears started falling from his eyes. Jeongguk instantly knelt down as he started wiping off his tears.
"I'm so sorry Taejung I didn't mean to make you cry. Come here." Jeongguk said as he scooped him in his arms and started patting his head. While his heart ached for the crying boy in his arms, a part of him couldn't contain his happiness after hearing the news. He felt cruel at being happy about someone's death. But it was like everything was okay now. Hope was starting to plant its roots in his heart. He could understand why Taehyung lied about everything. He must be feeling guilty. He must be feeling that he will deceive his dead mate by being with him. He was not even a tiny bit angry at Taehyung. He could understand his feelings. He could work with this. He was going to make Taehyung understand that it was okay to give himself a second chance. Jeongguk was determined to fix everything.
By now, Taejung had stopped crying and had dozed off in Jeongguk's arm.
"Hey, Taejung" Jeongguk softly called out but got no reply in return. He heard soft, steady breathing and figured out that Taejung had dozed off.
"Okay class it's time to camp out in the field. You'll all work in pairs and I'll teach you how to set up your toy tents. If you guys will have any trouble in setting up the tent, you'll come to me." Their teacher Miss Areum announced as everyone started forming queues and rushed out of the class excitedly. Jeongguk walked towards her with Taejung in his arms as he didn't know what to do.
"Miss Areum, Taejung was crying and now he has dozed off in my arms. What should I do? Do we have a bed here where I can lay him." Jeongguk asked.
"Why was he crying?" Areum asked.
"Oh he hurt his toe." Jeongguk lied. He didn't feel like it was his place to tell her the truth.
"Oh poor baby. Well we don't have a bed here since it's just a summer school with three classrooms. So I guess you should just wake him up." Areum counseled.
"But he must be tired from crying." Jeongguk reasoned.
"Well then why don't you connect two benches and lay him there." Areum suggested.
"What if he falls?" Jeongguk asked.
"Umm then you can stay back and keep an eye on him"
"But the bench must he hard. What if it hurts his back." Areum was losing her patience by now.
"Then give him to me, I'll carry him" Areum offered, stretching out her arms.
"What if you drop him?" Jeongguk said as he stepped away from Areum.
"Then just carry him yourself!" Areum shouted as she stomped out of the classroom.
"Well I guess that's the best option we have." Jeongguk muttered to himself as he made his way to the field too. He stood silently and stared at the kids who were very much immersed in their camping activity. Now Jeongguk contemplated if he should wake Taejung too since he might feel bad for missing out. As Jeongguk was trying to make his decision, a kid walked up to him and poked at his legs.
"What is it?" Jeongguk asked.
"I'm tired Jeongguk Ahjussi. Carry me too." The kid said stretching out his arms in the air.
"No offense kid but why should I? I don't you sleeping." Jeongguk said with a shrug.
"I'm sleepy too." The kid muttered as he rubbed his eyes.
"Well then go sleep in your tent. What's the purpose of setting it up if you don't use it." Jeongguk counseled but that made the kid start crying. He was whining as he ran up to Areum.
"Jeongguk Ahjussi is not carrying me up but he is carrying Taejung. He say me to sleep in tent" The kid whined as wiped at his tears that were falling continuously from his eyes. Now Jeongguk felt bad. Kind of.
"Jeongguk-ssi you can't show favouritism so openly." Areum scolded coming up to him with the kid in tow.
"Sorry to say this but he's just being envious which is not healthy as his age." Jeongguk said in his defence.
"You're being insensitive that is not a healthy behaviour for a teacher." All the commotion woke Taejung up as he yawned and rubbed his eyes.
"Your shouting woke him up. Now that's very insensitive on your part too." Jeongguk retorted back.
"I.." Jeongguk cut her off as he started talking to Taejung.
"Are you done sleeping?" Jeongguk asked him to which Taejung nodded his head.
"Then should I put you down?" Jeongguk asked. Taejung nodded yet again to that. So Jeongguk put him down as he turned to look at the crying kid.
"Come I'll carry you too." Jeongguk said as he stretched out his arms and the boy immediately ran up to him. He lifted him up and started rocking him up and down to get him to stop crying. Which he did and he soon dozed off too.
"See, matter solved." Jeongguk said shrugging his shoulders, while Areum stared at him in disbelief.
"You couldn't carry Taejung last time. Luck is on your side, you can carry him now." Jeongguk said as he handed the kid to Areum who didn't get the chance to mutter a single word.
"Geez the drama. Let's go Taejung." Jeongguk said as held Taejung's hand and walked away from the scene.
"Teacher Jeongguk what are these?" Taejung asked pointing at a tent beside him.
"Oh it's called a tent. The kids set these up while you were sleeping." Jeongguk explained.
"I want to make one too." Taejung said in a sad voice. Jeongguk looked around to see if there was any tent left to set up and noticed three kids setting up a tent that was almost done. Jeongguk ran with Taejung towards them and stood right beside the tent. Stealthily he kicked at one of the corner of the tent making it collapse.
"Oh my would you look at that. It's collapsed!" Jeongguk exasperated.
"But don't give up kids, you should try again. Taejung here will help you too, wouldn't you Taejung." Jeongguk said turning to look at Taejung who nodded his head profusely. Jeongguk stood and smiled contently as he watched Taejung enjoying his time camping.
"This could work."
