Mr. arrogant or Mr. handsome.
Chattering with his best friend Umayyad Kenz, Barq drove to one of his restaurants. Today, he had a new batch to welcome with his motivational speech. "How's life going with your little monster?" teased his best friend, knowing how much Amayra throws tantrums.
"It's going fine, man. Sometimes I wonder if she's really my daughter. I wasn't that stubborn," Barq said, chuckling and remembering his own childhood memories. He wasn't a very good boy, but he was a bit of a troublemaker. His best friend chuckled and shook his head.
"Anyway, did you prepare your speech for the new batch today, Chef?" asked Umayyad, smirking as he knew Barq had totally forgotten about it.
Barq hissed and shook his head, he was so busy spending time with his daughter that he totally forgot about the new recruits. "Don't worry, your handsome friend is here, I have written a really good speech," said Umayyad proudly.
Barq scoffed and said, "Huh? You? I'm sure you must have written something stupid but don't worry, I won't let the new recruit get traumatised, you just leave it to me." Saying this, he dialed his PA's number, commanding her to prepare the speech. After a long drive, they finally reached their restaurant, which they built together by working hard.
They had been together for the past 19 years, and their friendship grew stronger with each passing day. Umayyad was a constant supporter through thick and thin. Their bond was unbreakable. As they arrived at the restaurant, Barq hit the brakes and turned to Umay, saying, "You go ahead, I'll park the car." Umay rolled his eyes and replied, "Yeah, sure. Can't you tolerate me for more than a minute? Sometimes I feel like I'm your stepbrother." Umay pouted and got out of the car, marching into the luxurious restaurant.
Barq simply shook his head at the dramatic person in his life. He parked his car, grabbed his coat and phone from the dashboard, and hopped out of the car. Allowing the wind to envelop him, he put on his sunglasses and noticed the new recruits rushing around. A few memories from the past flashed through his mind, causing him to smile at them. The recruits greeted him with a cheerful good morning, to which he responded politely and gave them his most charming smile.
The new recruits squealed upon seeing such a handsome man. Little did they know, he could be a beast when it came to work. Meanwhile, a girl in her early 20s suddenly arrived and rushed through the crowd. She had a white scarf around her neck and was dressed casually. She pouted as she dialed a specific number, but rolled her eyes when the call went unanswered. "This girl can never arrive on time!" she muttered, looking around for an available elevator. The first elevator was occupied, so she turned around and saw another lift with a broad-shouldered man entering it, all alone.
She knitted her eyebrows at the small note stuck on his coat. Curiosity aroused her naive mind, and she followed him into the lift. Barq was busy typing on his phone, paying little attention to his surroundings. He felt a tap on his shoulder and turned around to find the most beautiful pair of eyes he had ever seen. This was the first time he had ever noticed a girl. Meanwhile, his phone rang, distracting him.
He quickly answered the call, but his eyes kept wandering back to the girl standing next to him. He couldn't help but be captivated by her charm. As the lift reached their floor,
His call finally ended, causing her to give him a cute glare. "Excuse me?" she said, placing her hands on her hips.
"Yes," he said, turning around as he was about to exit the elevator.
"A beautiful girl is trying to talk to you, and you're ignoring her loudly?" she said, glaring at him. He put his hands in his pockets and raised his eyebrows at her.
"I wasn't ignoring you, I was just attending a business call, you know?" He said with pure sarcasm.
"Whatever, was that a sticky note on your coat? And I have no interest in talking to such an arrogant man! You're just riding on your father's job," she blabbered the last part to herself, but he heard it. He raised one eyebrow. "What did you say?" He said, crossing his arms over his chest.
"You heard me," she said, rolling her eyes.
Barq was fed up with her audacity and backtalk.
He clenched his jaw and balled his fists. "Watch your tongue, miss," he said, making her blush. "Oh my god! You look so attractive when you're angry. Let me take a selfie and tease Nora," she said, squealing and taking out her phone from her handbag.
Barq rolled his eyes at this girl. He shook his head and marched out, while she frowned and quickly ran after him. Trying to keep up with his pace, she said, "Can you at least give me your number? What's with the attitude?"
"Huh, I'll see you later," she said, glaring at his broad back. Pouting, she asked one of his team members to escort her to the main hallway where all the new recruits were supposed to be present. Taking her seat, she dialed her best friend's number again, "Hey, where are you? When will you come?" She said, glaring at the phone, as her best friend was always late.
"I'm coming," said Nora from the other side, and soon the announcement was made that the CEO himself would show up.
Noya was busy capturing everything on her phone. She was a bit more excited about the idea of being a part of Barq Restaurant. But little did she know that her life would take a 360° turn. They were introduced to various head chefs, sous chefs, commis chefs, and chef de cuisine.
Cooking was never her cup of tea, but she was good at baking. With the strong pressure of her best friend, she had decided to join BR.
Her phone slipped from her grip when she saw the same handsome man who turned out to be the CEO of the restaurant. As Barq Ilhsan held the mic with confidence, Noya was left in awe.
Barq held his speech with increased enthusiasm, confidence, and shared even more motivational words with his new recruits. He strongly believed in the combination of luck and hard work. Noya was captivated by his words, and his extensive knowledge about culinary transported her to a fictional world where a man cooks food for his lover. She couldn't contain her excitement and let out a squeal, receiving strange and questioning looks from the other recruits. Nervously, she smiled at them. As soon as Barq finished his speech, Noya stood up and clapped with joy.
