Chapter 9
Hey guys!
All of the few readers I have, thank you for sticking by me. I have a lot going on so I am barely on Wattpad but writing have become a stress killer, or the tactic I use to avoid study.
I hope you enjoy the stories as much as I do writing them. As I am the writer I am bad in seeing my flaws. Sorry for any inconvenience and all suggestions and criticism is welcomed.
Love and regards

"This is not possible." Sia whispers striding back and forth. "This is not freaking possible." She panic stricken says while hitting the air with her hands. "This is just not possible!" She halts in her movement and frowns. "Or is it?" Doubting she shakes her head while walking back and forth again.
"OMG, no this is not possible! Sahir Khan can never do such a thing. He made his way to the top with great struggle, or so I have been told." Continuing talking to no one in particular and debating with herself she accidentally bump into someone. "Aoch!" Two hands catches her around her shoulders.
Looking up to find two smiling blue eyes which belongs to a police officer Sia gets a bit startled. "Hey, is everything fine?" The man in his twenties asks gently.
Sia have been standing in front of the police headquarters for a while now and been debating with herself. Looking up at the sign and back at the officer she gives a nervous smile. "I don't know." she says honestly.
The police officer seem alert now. "Do you want to talk about it?" He asks as if being worried.
Sahir flashes through Sias vision. One were he is smiling in a white shirt and one were he is glaring at her. Her heart fluctuate and she focuses her vision back on the officer who is studying Sia, calculating her every move.
She heaves a sigh and pulls her leather jacket closer around her. "Yeah, that would be great." Tiredness evident in her voice she strolls inside the police station with the officer behind her.
Sias thoughts have been a mess ever since she found out that Sameer Jays factory have turned to ashes. The whole journey she tried to convince herself that Sahir didn't have a hand in it. How hard she even tried she couldn't get rid of the conversation she had more or less accidentally heard. "Burn it down." Sahir voice echoed in her head. "Just do as I say. Every inch should be turned into coil." Flashbacks of Sahirs firm and loud words creeped Sia out the whole journey.
Texting her brother for advice but cleverly not mentioning about what or whom it actually is she came to the conclusion that Sahir might be the culprit. Sameer Jay and Sahir Khan are business rivals. They're both in the same field with textiles and fashion as their main focus at the moment. With much internal turmoil Sia dropped her suitcase at home and headed straight to the police station.
Letting a cold sip of water relax Sia she puts down the plastic mug on the officers table. "So now you know my dilemma, what's your opinion?" She asks Carl, the police officer she bumped into.
Carl looks at Sia with deep thinking wrinkles formed on his forehead. "So you're implying that Sahir Khan burned down." Sia interrupt him shaking her head.
"Na-a, I am not implying anything. I am simply telling you about what I heard. It is your job to judge if this need some investigation or not." Sia says casually, tired of her own overthinking.
Carl lights up in a small smile which make him young again. "The thing is, just one eyewitness won't be enough. Do you have anyone who can verify what you heard or the event?" He asks and Sia sighs.
She sits there quite for a while thinking what she is actually up to? Why is she in a police station? She haven't even spoken to Sahir about what she heard and what she is speculating. If she confronts him, would he tell her the truth? She doubts that. Why is her gut feeling telling her that he can never do such a thing? But would she be surprised if it turned out to be him? No.
Sia clears her throat and shifts in her seat. "I actually don't know Sahir that well so I can't judge his character. That's why I am uncertain if I should file a police report or not. However, if I do decide to file a report I do have people that can verify the event." She says while Carl leans back in his seat with his elbows resting on the arms of the chair.
Sia feels rather uncomfortable. "File the report." Sia turns stiff and looks at Carl expressionlessly. "It's better to investigate all possible theories and suspects. I am not sure how strongly your report will go through as they're still investigating if the fire was an accident or." He trails off and Sia takes a deep breath. "But yes, you should definitely file a report." He says with determination.
That night Sia could barely sleep. Laying wide awake in her bed gazing aimlessly at the moon from her window she thought about her decision. When she earlier came back home from the police station her family had asked her the million dollar question of where she had gone in a hurry, dropping of her bags at home. Smiling she made sure to hide her troubled thoughts.
She didn't want to worry them and lied that she had to meet up her friend Sana from university as she was in need of some catching up. The whole evening she spent time with her family and just enjoyed her break. From tomorrow she would be back to work again, back to reality.
Sahir is back in London after two days. The first thing he does is to head to his office to attend a business meeting regarding the expansion of his hotels. Even though tired and worn out he holds his enigmatic charisma in phase. Receiving one call after the successful meeting makes his temper flare up.
Fisting his hand on the table he glares towards Ella. "How can this be possible?" Sahir yells at his personal secretary.
Ella is a young beautiful and well trained brunet. She is both physically and mentally strong but in the presence of Sahirs wrath she turns into a mouse. "I am sorry sir." Ella looks down disappointed.
Sahir stands up from his black chair in his all white cabin and nonchalantly fixes his sleeves on his suit. "I asked you to deliver the samples last week. And now they're calling and telling me that the shipment didn't reach them. Do you know what that means?" Shair asks in a more calmed and professional attitude then before.
"Yes sir." She whispers. "The samples was meant to be sent but I don't know why they never left from our shipping department." Ella adds on the verge of almost crying.
Sahir looks sternly at her. "I don't care why or how they didn't reach them. For this act the potential investors for my new branch might withdraw from making a deal. The deal is important for my breakthrough in the world of fashion." He reminds more himself while turning around to look out over the beautiful London. "You're dismissed." He says without turning around and can hear the door close behind him.
The view of the setting sun over the city fills him with peace. It reminds him of Sia, she would have loved this. He remember over hearing her saying that she loves heights, even though she is afraid of heights. "Weird girl." Sahir grins for himself.
A phone call makes him turn around and pick up his phone. "Sahir." He answers with a hint of authority. "What?" Frowning he says baffled.
Ending the call he sits down on his chair and swings around with it to look over the city again. With one hand under his chin he gazes the glowing sun, reflecting the fire in his eyes.
The expected knocks on his door make him alert. "Come in." He calls out and the door opens behind him. "Welcome officer, how may I help you?" He says turning around to look at the young officer.
"Hi." The officer says and comes forward to shake his hand with Sahir. "Carl." He says and Sahir takes his extended hand.
"Sahir, but I guess you know that already." A slight arrogance is hinted in Sahirs voice and he gestures at Carl to sit down.
"I have a few questions for you." Carl starts without waiting anytime. "A few days ago Sameer Jays recent factory burnt down." Sahir nods without making out where the conversation is going. "Do you know where the factory is located?" Carl asks with his eyes twinkling.
Sahir furrows his eyebrows. "Excuse me?"
"Well, do you?" Carl asks again calmly.
"No. I don't keep track of my revivals locations." He shrugs bored.
"Where were you the day the factory burnt down?" Carl asks now.
"Well, the last few days I have been in Manchester." Sahir answers analyzing the officer. "Sorry officer, but I am not sure where we're heading."
"That would be the perfect alibi if a report hadn't been filled." Carl states ignoring the last sentence of Sahir.
"Alibi? Report? What are you talking about?" Sahir asks perplexed.
"There has been a police report filed against you." Sahir furrows his eyebrows. "A witness said that you might have been involved in the accident." Carl emphasis the word accident.
Sahir frowns now and anger starts to boil in him. "That must be a sick joke. I am not involved." He dismisses the accusation.
"That will be investigated in court. I have just come to give you a notice of a court hearing at the end of the week. As you are a public figure the media will go berserk over the news which will be official from tomorrow." Carl informs Sahir.
Sahir keeps quiet and tries to remain calm. He knows better than to argue with a officer but don't understand how someone can have reported him. "Just one question." Sahir says showing his index finger and Carl nods. "Who's behind it?"
The brown liquid burns his throat. That pain in his throat reliefs him from the suffocating pain he feels in his chest.
The name the police officers mentioned made him disconcerted. "Sia Malik." Carl said and Sahir instantly felt betrayed.
"How could she?" Sahir murmurs for himself and gulps down the rest of the liquid in one go.
With glistering eyes he moves towards his car leaving the noisy bar behind. Driving aimlessly for a while and suddenly halting in a familiar aisle he steps out of his car. Leaning on it for support he glances at the time.
As on cue he looks at the fragile figure walking out of the mall. She is as always radiating an aura, unaffected by the betrayal he concludes. Sahir looks on as she walks to her car and gets in. He wants to confront her but changes his mind at the last moment. In his opinion the battle will begin from the court as she has arranged but will end the way he will decide.
He will make sure to teach Sia Malik a lesson she'll never forget. That will make her regret ever crossing Sahir Khans path. "I am coming for you, Sia Malik." Sahir smirks with venom lacing on his words.
"Shit shit shit shit." Sia rants seeing the notice she received. "Sahir will kill me." She breathes in and looks at her sister Soumya while chewing on her nails.
Soumya had seen the court notice in Sias name in the morning and brought it to her without their family noticing. Soumya gives Sia an puzzled expression merged with worry.
"I don't get it, you didn't even ask him? You didn't even consider discussing with mom and dad before dragging him to court?" Sia sits down on her bed exhausted. "Wow, you're dragging him to court for something not even regarding you." Soumya adds fascinated.
Sia glares at her. "Shut up, I didn't even know that I was dragging him to court! I thought the police would investigate the matter and that's it." Her legs are shaking due to nervousness.
Soumya rolls her eyes. "Yeah, because that's how it works." It's written that even Sameer Jay and Sahir Khan has been called to court.
"Oh stop acting smart now and give me advice. Sahir will literally kill me if he sees me in court." Sia says worried by the thought of having to face him.
"Well, to be honest I think he already." Soumya can't even finish her sentence as a scream is heard from downstairs.
"Sia!" Their mother calls out and they look at each other panic stricken. "Sia, come down right now!" Did she find out?
They walk out of their room with Sias drumming heart. "Best of luck." Soumya says and starts to walk towards her room when Sia quickly grabs her arm.
"You're not leaving me alone!" Sia says baffled and Soumya try to pull away from her.
Soumya doesn't want to be a part of the drama knowing her mother won't be happy with all of this. "I am not getting involved in this!" She snaps and Sia glares at her.
"You're coming with me, I don't care." She orders and drags her while Soumya makes resistance, which increases Sias force on her sisters arm.
"Ok, ok, I am coming!" Soumya whisper yells as her arms hurting.
Sia sighs and they walk down to the living room where the sound of the television is echoing. Walking in they find their parents and Sagar fixated on the news.
They look pretty startled and Sia try to gain their attention by clearing her throat. Soumya nudges Sia and gestures her older sister to take a look at the screen. Sias head snaps towards the television and her eyes widen in shock.
A picture of Sahir is shown in the background while the old anchor speaks about the latest news. "It's being speculated that business tycoon Sahir Khan might have had an hand in the burning down of Sameer Jays factory." He says with his deep voice while Sia holds in a breath. "The speculations began as a police report was filed against him." This is not going to end well, Sia bits her lips. "The report was made by a young girl." Thank god, Sia lets go of the breath she was holding. "Named Sia Malik." Everyone in the living room gasps and eight pair of eyes turns towards her, crap.
Sahir and his mother are sitting in their living room where an silence has taken over. "Did you know about this?" Mrs. Khan asks Sahir after having turned of the television.
Sahir stares at the black screen where his reflection is staring back at him. He haven't been able to sleep the night before which can be confirmed by the dark circles around his eyes. "Yes." He shortly replies.
"And you let it happen?" Sahirs eyes doesn't leave his reflection. "This is not done Sahir, this is not done. You know, building up a reputation takes ages but crumpling it down is a matter of seconds. You're under constant public raider, small matters escalates quickly. This scandal might ruin the hard work your father has put in to this business." His mothers speech makes him feel furious over the fact that he let this mistake happen.
He knows that he'll never be able to step into his fathers shoes and never will be good enough, however he won't let a self centered brat ruin all the effort he has put into this business after his father died.
He has invested day and nights to make his dads dream live on and he won't let the expansion stop here. He has put in his life in this to someday be able to make his mother proud.
"How could you do this without concerning with us?" Sias mother scolds her while Sia sit at the corner of the couch devastated after all the bashing she is receiving from her family members. "I thought you were more responsible than this! You're an adult but sometimes you act as impulsive as a spoilt brat."
Her father is discussing with Sagar about how to emend the matter. "I am sorry! I have already told you everything, I wasn't thinking straight and did what I thought was right. What if it is the truth?" Sia squeals back.
"Oh please Sia! Stop acting like all the worldly matter are on your shoulders! Did you even talk to him? Did you ever try to find out what he was actually talking about? I am sure that he didn't do what you're implying he did." Sias mother scolds her and phases around the living room in her black maxi dress. "You're dragging him to court! I can't imagine how I'll be able to face Mrs. Khan." Mrs. Malik cries and Sia rolls her eyes.
"Sia you'll have to withdraw the case saying it was a misunderstanding." Mr. Malik suddenly announces and all eyes snaps towards him at the entrance of the living room with Sagar close behind.
"We'll have to apologize to Sahir also for the trouble." Sagar adds and take a glance at his baby sister.
This makes Sia furious. "This is ridiculous, how do you know that he is not involved? He might be!" Sia replies back confused.
"Sia, it doesn't matter. This is not your call. Don't forget that he is from our community, you just can't mess with him." Sagar warns her sternly.
Sia rolls her eyes. "You know what, you want me to speak to him and analyze the situation. Sure, I'll go and meet him right away." Sia stands up and walks towards the door while her family calls after her.
"Stop being such a child!" Sia hear her brother say and she turns around.
"This is my call and I'll go and do whatever I feel is right. I am the reason for this mess and I'll make sure that it ends." She says and walks out the door taking her mobile and car keys.
Breathing in the refreshing cold air outside Sia calms herself down. She is determined to meet Sahir and walks towards her car, when opening her car door she remembers an important factor which makes her sigh in frustration.
She walks back inside and finds everyone still in the living room staring at her questioningly. She clears her throat embarrassed. "Well, I don't know any of his addresses or whereabouts." She rants and sits down as a sack of potato between her parents.
Walking nervously out of Sagars car Sia reminds herself to inhale and exhale. "Are you sure you don't want me to go with you?" Sagar asks worried for the hundredth time.
Sia gives a small assuring smile. "No, just wait here for me." She says and takes nervous steps towards the huge building made of glass. The lobby is grand and elegant with a red carpet over the marble floor all the way to the reception.
"What may I help you with ma'am?" A young man asks, he seem to be of Italian heritage and have a Bluetooth attached to his right ear.
Sia had taken a chance and hoped that Sahir would be at his office. "I would like to meet Sahir Khan, and before you waste energy to ask, no I don't have any appointment." Sia smiles which leaves the guy chuckling.
"Sorry ma'am but sir is not in the office." Sia gets disappointed as she finally had decided to confront Sahir. She thanks the man and walks back towards the entrance aggravated at her luck.
Just as the door opens the cold breeze hits her and she suddenly comes face to face with the person she has been searching for, Sahir. However, he seem to be everything else than happy to see her. "Hi!" She gives him a small insecure smile while he stares at her with no emotion evident. Guess his business personality isn't enough intimidating that he also has to be hard to read.
As if looking through her he walks past her which leaves Sia baffled and a bit insulted. She stomps her foot as she remembers why he is acting the way he is. "Sahir!" She walks after him and takes a hold of his arm which make him halt in his movement. She tries to ignore her inner voice to ask about the soft texture of his black suit.
Sahir rigidly stares at her hand on his arm as a hunter keeps an eye on his prey. Sia quickly withdraws her hand realizing what she just did seeing everyone staring.
Obviously people don't stop the great Sahir Khan. "I need to speak to you, just let me explain once. It's important." She whispers pleadingly and Sahir does his best to keep himself composed knowing he is standing in his very own office lobby.
Sahir doesn't want another spectacle of his life and at least not live, the court case will be enough for a lifetime. "Follow me." He orders without even sparing a glance at a embarrassed Sia.
