Sahir tries to calm himself down and stands beside the passenger door where Sia is from the inside struggling to get out of his car. Cleverly, Sahir has put child's lock on the particular door which can only be opened from the outside.
Breathing in and out trying to forget the fact that anyone, especially a spoilt girl he dislikes, has slapped him he clenches his jaw. His eyes reflects the burning moon even though his eyes are as dark as the night sky.
"Let me out!" He can hear Sias muffled shouts and fidgeting with the car door.
Running a hand through his hair and fisting the other one Sahir without warning knocks his fist over the car making Sia jump in her seat startled. Sia can make out a small bump on the roof over her and puts her hand to her heart. Sahir has his hand still kept on the spot and leans his head on his black Audi. Taking in a deep cold breath he starts to move towards the driver seat. The cold wind swirling around him in an attempt to cool him down while the moonlight caresses his tense features.
He sits down in his car and closes the door loudly. Sia feel rather uncomfortable and moves as far away from him as she can making Sahirs grip on the steering go harder.
As the emotional mess Sia is right now she starts to cry as she feel helpless while Sahir ignites the car.
Sia shouts at him with a rusty voice which is ignored by him. "Where do you think you're taking me? Let me go!" She starts to pull and fumble with the door handle again till she is afraid that it will break. "Stop the car!" She demands but is not heard by anyone which makes her look at him with fear evident in her almond eyes. "I don't want to be around you! What's your problem?" She questions him and Sahir turns an deaf ear to her. "I said stop the car!" Sia tries again and again but Sahir doesn't budge.
When nothing seem to work to obtain his attention she feel frustrated and not knowing what to do she starts to shake his arm vigorously which makes Sahir stiff. "Answer me!" She demands at the same time being amazed at his driving skills.
No answer, just a rigid Sahir. His dark eyes focused on the road with clenched jaws and a deadly silence in the slightly warmed up car.
A new set of fresh tears leaves Sias eyes as she thinks of all the negative possibilities that can occur. "You're going to try to take advantage of me, right? If you do that I can assure you that I'll either kill you or."
"That's it!" Sahir snaps before Sia can fully threaten him. "Just shut up!" Sahirs voice thunders while he pronounces every word carefully making Sia go quiet even though she is itching to retort. "Please, you have already damaged my braincells and now you're chewing on my last functional one. For your information I am not going to take advantage of you! And stop being so full of yourself and get yourself a mirror, you're not even my type." He scolds her lacking patience.
"Obviously I am not your type as you prefer aunties!" Sia retorts with a frown as Sahir suddenly horns at someone.
Sahir glances at her sheepishly as if questioning if she is being serious. "Jealous?" He says instead.
Sia glares at him. "Disgusted." She replies shortly. "For the hundredth time where are you taking me?" She cries.
She looks out of the window not sure of getting an answer from him and hugs herself for comfort. "I am dropping you home." Sahir informs her calmly.
Sias head snaps towards him. "How do you know where I live?" She asks him stunned.
Sahir shakes his head. "For the love of God, I don't!" He snaps tiredness evident in his voice.
Sia furrows her eyebrows confused. Sahir takes a deep breath to calm his nerves.
"I have been driving in circles for about fifteen minutes! You were busy throwing a tantrum. To enlighten you I don't talk to people when they do that." He tells her appealed.
"I was not throwing a tantrum!" Sia objects. "Just drop me of here I'll manage." She says with a bit too much pride.
Sahir take a glance at her with disbelief. "That's what I am talking about, this attitude of yours will get you in deep trouble someday. Just tell me where you live and please don't start another drama. I had enough of it for one day." He utter not filtering his thoughts.
Sia is a bit taken aback by his choice of words. "The fact that you call my emotional outburst a drama even though you know what kind of a situation I was in a moment ago says more about you than me." She calmly responses.
Now it is Sahirs turn to be surprised and quite embarrassed as he realizes that he was being too harsh on her, not the first time. "Where do you live?" He gently asks now.
Sias gaze is fixed at the road in front of her. "I'll manage just drop me off here." She says monotonously.
Sahir sighs. "Everyone needs help. That's the human condition." He suddenly says.
"So you mean that you also need help once a while?" Sia questions him knowing his ego.
He narrows his eyes. "Okey, not everyone scratch that." He takes a pause to think through before continuing. "If one person sees another person in need and waits to be asked for help is as unkind as if he had refused it. Just let me drop you, you can think that I paid for the mess I created in the drugstore." He says instead and leaves Sia surprised.
Since when does Sahir Khan care if he is kind or unkind? If someone need help or not? When does he care at all?
Sia arches an eyebrow. "So you agree that you did that on purpose?" She points out accusingly.
That breaks a small smirk on Sahir. "Of course not, but I still had a hand in the accident." He says innocently.
Sia looks at him blinking her eyes to comprehend what he just said. "That was the most twisted confession I have ever heard." She finally states shaking her head.
Sahir holds back a chuckle. "So your address?"
After a decent fifteen minutes ride Sahir halts his car on Sias driveway. He walks to open her door and undo the child's lock. Sia stumbles out having the car door as support. She is quiet drained out of energy by the past events. Once out and stable Sahir closes the door. They look at each other a bit awkwardly but still with small civil smiles on their faces.
Sia tucks a hair strand behind her ear and tries to come up with something to break the silence while Sahir just stare at her beautiful face brighten up with the help of the streetlight.
"Well, I should be saying thanks but as you mentioned this way you paid for the mess in the drug store, so I guess we're even." Sia says with a playful smile and Sahir nods. "Would you like to come in? I guess only mom is at home so you can say hello to her." Sia asks politely as she has been brought up with the policy to always invite people in if their outside your house.
Sahir shakes his head slightly and clears his throat. "No, not today as it is quite late and I need to drive back home. I am actually a bit tired but give my regards to your family." Sahir says genuinely.
Sia smiles understandingly. "Good night then." She says.
"Good night." Sahir says with his eyes fixed on her.
Sia turns around and starts to walk towards their door while Sahir walks to his car playing with his car key. "Sia." Sahir calls while opening his car door.
Sia turns around slightly just to be able to face him. "Yes?" She is actually curious of what he has to say.
Sahir stops playing with the key while having his elbow on the door frame and looks straight into Sias eyes with seriousness written all over him. She feels a bit insecure and goosebumps emerge.
"I am nothing like that man." He says implying the man who harassed Sia a while ago.
Sia looks at him startled, her words clearly had hit him bad and lingered on him. Sahir doesn't wait for an reply and sits down in his car, her soft big almond eyes follows him and he catches them before driving of.
Sia stands there for a minute taking in what just happened. Sighing she turns around to unlock the door. Once inside her mother comes out of the living room in her maxi dress while Sia takes of her red coat and black shoes.
"Why did it take you so long? Do you know how worried I was?" Sias mother inquires finally coming to peace seeing her daughter.
Sia heads to the kitchen hearing her empty stomach. "Mom, trust me it would have taken even a longer time if I had taken the bus." Sia says casually and realizes what she just said.
She closes her eyes and frowns at her own stupidity and questions herself if she has any common sense. "Who gave you a ride?" As expecting her mother questions.
Sia washes her hands and takes a look at the food her mother have cooked. "Umm." She doesn't know how to reply and looks delighted at the chicken biryani her mother has cocked. "Oh my, any special occasion?" Sia asks taking in the lovely aroma making her stomach growl.
"You just changed the topic." Her mother points out suspiciously.
Sia rolls her eyes. "Omg mom, stop suspecting things." Sia says dramatically as she knows her mothers mind can cook up some great stories. "It was Sahir." She sighs while her mother sits down beside the dining table. "Where's Soumya?" She inquires about her younger sister.
Sia takes a plate and puts food on it, she won't be waiting for her brother and dad as she is too hungry or too tempted. "She's at her friend Dianas place, they're having a movie night. Your father will pick her up after work." Her mother says and Sia sits down beside the dining opposite her mother with a glass of water and the plate, which clings at the contact with the glass table.
"That's nice." Sia smiles and digs in satisfying all her senses and her stomach. "Mom, this is the best." Sia says and her mother smiles warmly with sparkles in her eyes.
"So who's this Sahir? I have never heard of him before." Her mother asks which makes Sia almost choke on her food.
She looks at her mother sheepishly. "Mom, Sahir. I am referring to Sahir Khan. We were all introduced at Sanayas wedding, remember?"
"Oh, that Sahir? How come you two are such a good friends all of a sudden? You didn't seem fond of each other." Mrs. Malik asks her daughter curiosity taking over.
Sia shakes her head. "We aren't, he happened to be at the same street so he offered me to drop me home. The bus was late and all so I just accepted the ride." Sia lies and looks down on her plate guiltily.
She has never lied to her mother. However, if she tells her soft hearted mother about the incident she surely won't be able to stop worrying and surely not be able to sleep at nights.
Her mother buys the white lie and seem rather happy. "Good, as that family is highly respected and we don't want to be anything less but a good acquaintance." Sia nods not knowing what to reply on that, she doesn't actually care.
After her dinner they make themselves comfortable in the living room. Sia rest on her mothers lap on the sofa and Mrs. Malik plays with her daughters long silky hair while watching a serial named Humsafars, meaning soulmates.
"Mom, I miss Sanaya." Sia says while texting her best friend.
"You'll meet her soon, don't worry." Her mother assures her while the female protagonist in the serial walks on coil to crush her old self right before marrying the man she love and hate at the same time, dramatic much?
"I know but still, the days feel so empty without her." Sia says with a sigh. "Are we going to their party?" She asks with hope.
"We won't be able to make it as your father and brother will be working. I am also already booked for a ladies night out with some friends and if I am not wrong Soumya have invited a couple of her friends to our place on the same weekend." She enlightens and all the expectations dies inside Sia. "But you will surely go." Her mother says with a smile.
"Me, but how? I mean it is whole families that are invited, without you I will feel so lost." Sia worries and puts down her mobile on her stomach.
Her mother strokes her hair. "Don't worry, you have Sanaya and her parents. It won't be a big deal. You'll enjoy yourself you'll see." Her mother says and Sia smiles at the thought of meeting her best friend.
"I love you mom." Sia says drifting of to sleep.
Her mother chuckles. "I love you too dear. By the way, if you feel lonely, why don't you also get married? Don't you think it is time?" She hears her mother.
"Mm." Sia mumbles while dozing of.
Two weeks later Sahir sits down on a crowded train from Easton to Piccadilly. Spotting the empty seat beside the window next to his original seat he sits down there instead. Setting his laptop in front of him while sipping on a hot cup of coffee he tries to brainstorm new ideas to add on his latest project to gain the sponsors for his next international fashion brand.
This time he will be introducing the next collection with a huge fashion show if he can gain enough investors. He is thinking of making the event a collaboration with a renown model agency and having a highly known face from the entertainment industry his showstopper.
"Excuse me! That's my seat." A high pitched but familiar voice snaps him out of his thoughts.
He turns around to face a puffy Sia. "You!" They both exclaim at the same time.
Sahir glances at Sia who seem to have run to catch the train which starts to move now. She is glowing with her cheeks having a shade of pink.
Sia raises an eyebrow. "You're not stalking me are you?"
Sahir frowns. "Shouldn't I be asking that? I was on the train before you."
Sia ignores him. "Would you mind? That's my seat." She says annoyed.
She is not in a good mood due to the traffic jam she was stuck in which made her almost miss her train. Her brother Sagar dropped her off to the station. Her annoyance escalates seeing Sahirs cup of coffee as she already was craving a creamy chai latte.
"Can't you just sit down here?" Sahir questions troubled referring to his seat.
"No, that's my seat and I want it." She points on the spot he has occupied. "I especially booked the window seat and I will be sitting there." She states making Sahir glare at her.
Sia ignores him and flips her hair back over her shoulder while lifting her huge bag to put it in place.
Sahir furrows his eyebrows. "Are you going to stay in Manchester for a month?" He questions confused.
Sia looks at him emotionless as he just reminded her of her struggle to pack and then run with the overflowed bag. "No."
"For how long are you staying then?" He asks curiously.
Sia sighs. "Just the weekend." He looks at her as if she is a lame comedian.
"You got to be kidding me." He blurts out.
She rolls her eyes at his expression. "I am serious."
He doesn't question her anymore. "That seem legit." He mumbles more for himself while standing up to let Sia take her seat.
He sits down next to her on the bright red seats and shifts his laptop to his side. "Thanks." She smiles brightly once settled and satisfied.
Sahir looks at her as if she is crazy and nods slightly before turning his attention to his laptop. She must be having her week, he thinks for himself but then dismisses the thought as he notices her white jeans.
Sia texts her family to inform that she is on the train and toss it on the table in front. She takes of her dark blue jacket and tries to not accidentally hit an stiff Sahir. He seem annoyed as he gets distracted by having her move around next to him.
Once settled and taking in the beautiful view of the landscapes she feel in peace, especially when seeing glistering water. The sun is shining brightly and gives her warmth. Mother Earth is indeed naturally beautiful. She turns her attention to Sahir as he is sipping on his coffee. Sahir can feel Sias gaze on him and tries to concentrate on his project.
Sia looks at him amused. "May I ask you something?" She asks before actually asking her question.
Sahir doesn't look up and replies with a nod.
"You are Sahir Khan right?" And now Sahir looks at her as if she has completely lost her mind. "I mean the Sahir Khan, one of UKs finest business man?" Sahir looks at her perplexed, is that a rhetorical question?
Sias almond eyes twinkle as she waits for his answer with anticipation. "Yes." Sahir confirms.
"How come you're in a train? You could easily have reached your destination by air or more private as a car." She asks curious.
Sahir furrows his eyebrows. "What kind of a question is that?" He asks confused.
She shrugs. "You couldn't even book yourself a window seat. How can you be a successful business man?" Sia states and insults Sahir in the process.
He glares at her. "Excuse me? I am Sahir Khan. If I want I can buy the whole train in just a snap." He defensively points out and Sia roles her eyes.
A smile plays on Sias lips hitting his nerve. "Ok rich boy. I got you, so why are you here?" She asks still curious.
He places his hand in front of him on the air. "Look, I can travel with whatever medium I want to. It is non of your business but for your information this was a last minute decision as I wanted time to finish some unfinished work." He enlightens her and Sia forms a 'o' with her mouth.
"Don't worry, I won't be bothering you." She smiles and gestures at her earplugs in her hands. She puts them in and slowly shift to a world of her own. Making herself comfortable she looks out of the window taking in every ounce of beauty the mesmerizing land has to offer.
"Sia." Sahir whispers. "Sia." He says and shakes his shoulder a bit. No response.
'End destination Piccadilly.' The voice of a woman breaks through the train.
Sia starts to move ever so slowly and breathes heavily. Rubbing her eyes she open them to be met with an almost empty train and furrows her eyebrows. It takes a moment for her to register that she is on her way to Manchester and another moment for her to notice that she is resting her head on Sahir.
With wide eyes she sits up straight quite embarrassed. "Ouch." She says and massages the back of her neck that obviously got sprained. "Just great." She mumbles for herself.
Sahir shakes his head seeing Sias discomfort. Sia had fallen asleep during the last hour of the journey. Her head fell on Sahir shoulders unintentionally for support and her hand tugged his arm. First he got annoyed and wanted to shrug her of. That thought changed by one glimpse of her angelic face. The sun caressed her smooth skin and he hesitantly tucked a hair strand behind her ear which had fallen on her face.
Awkwardly Sia stands up and wraps her jacket around her and so does Sahir. They walk out of the train together in silence.
"Oh, I forgot to ask. Where will you be staying?" Sia asks while they walk towards the exit after Sahir buys them a hot beverage each.
Guess what Sia is drinking?
Sahir looks at Sia as if she is rather slow. "Obviously where you're going to stay." He shrugs.
Sia furrows her eyebrows and looks up at him. "Excuse me?" She questions as if he is a stalker while Sahir runs a hand through his, under the sun, brown shaded hair.
"Miss drama queen, can you bring back your head from the clouds? You're here to attend your best friends party and so am I." He enlightens her and shakes his head while Sia goes quiet.
Obviously, she thinks for herself and mentally scowl at her stupidity.
They barley manages to walk out of the gate when Sanaya jumps on Sia and hugs her tightly. "I've missed you. I've missed you. I've missed you!" Sanaya chants and Sia giggles.
"And I've missed you so much more babe!" Sia hugs her friend back with warmth.
Sahir and Arnav clears their voices to gain the ladies attention. They finally break out from their hug and smiles towards them.
"Hello there." Sanaya says grinning at Sahir. "Welcome to Manchester." She says as if he has never been there.
Sahir just smiles. "Hi Sia, how have you been?" Arnav asks.
The wind makes her hold back her hair. "Great, and I can see that you have been more than great." She adds a wink to the reply.
Everyone except Sahir laughs, who just stares at Sia as if questioning her joke. They all sits down in Arnavs car with the ladies in the back seat and head towards the newly wedded couples home.
"When is Uncle and Aunti coming?" Sia asks Sanaya.
After the tour of their really pretty and five bedroom villa, some freshen up and dinner they're now resting in their living room while the men is at work in the office in Manchester, they'll arrive late.
"They'll arrive tomorrow morning with Arnavs parents receiving them, they'll all help out. Thankfully we have ordered catering service otherwise it would have been a headache." Sanaya informs with her signature smile.
Tomorrow is a celebration party for the couple to share a glimpse of their newly settled and cheerful life. Our plans for today is just a girls night with catching up, junk food, movie and face mask.
Walking around in heels inside is not something Sia is used to. The house is buzzing with people which makes it damp and as the backyard is open most people are enjoying the cold there. Loud music is pumping and Sia is doing her best to help out with everything. Wearing a long red dress with golden details she sways around in the house, giggling with Sanaya, her cousins and her relatives then and now.
After some time Sanaya, Anjali, Myra, Shetal, Neha, Sia and some other friends and acquaintances of Sanaya sits down in a circle on a side in the living room and goes through the wedding photos which just arrived.
"Oh gosh! You guys are so cute!" Neha compliments seeing the couples pictures. "Omg look at this one Sanaya! You're looking like a dream!" She adds and shows them another picture and the ladies agrees.
What throws Sia of guard is the act that comes next. "And look at these two love birds." Shetal winks at Sia and shows the girls a picture which makes Sia curious.
"Oh no! Ouch! That breaks my heart." Anjali acts out with her hands on her heart.
"How could you do this? You'll be shattering so many girls dreams." Myra says acting out like the drama queen that she is.
Sia raises an eyebrow. "What are you guys talking about?" Sia looks at them confused. "Show me!" She says and tries to snatch the photo from Myra but in vain, she takes it away from her reach.
"I can show you." She says and turns the picture in her hand and Sias jaw drops.
Sanaya giggles. "You have missed to tell me something I guess, but you look good together though." She wiggle her eyebrows.
The picture is of Sia and Sahir with the couple at the wedding when the former were bickering. Plot twist, Sia and Sahir is looking into each others eyes resembling a romantic couple. Pfft they wish, Sia thinks for herself and rolls her eyes.
Her cheeks heats up and gives double effect to the pink rouge she is using. "That picture is taken out of context!" Sia defends and tries to snatch the photo from Myra who gives it to Sneha.
Sia tries again but the photo is handed to Sanaya who quickly stands up and starts to run with the picture. "You'll get it after I have got out all the juicy information from you!" Sanaya teases.
"There's no information!" Sia says trying to get to her while Sanayas mother is between them. "Aunti tell her to give me back my photo." Sia wines.
"What kind of childish act are you guys up to now?" Sanayas mother giggles radiantly knowing these two.
"Should I show her?" Sanaya threatens and Sias eyes widen.
Sia shakes her head and warns Sanaya through her eyes. "Stop it! You won't show it to anyone." Sanaya wiggles her eyebrows again.
"Catch me if you can!" And she runs towards the other side of the sofa. "Was the train travel a accident or planned?" Sanaya says running around people and furnitures with Sia after her.
"Oh stop it!" Sia rolls her eyes.
"Do I smell a wedding soon?" Sanaya giggles and runs towards the main door.
"Sanaya stop it! Come back!" Sia says running behind her with her red dress swirling behind.
Sanaya suddenly rounds someone making Sia bump into the person with full force which makes her heel unstable and she starts to fall back with a mini panic attack. "Sia!" Sanaya gasps guilt ridden.
Sia closes her eyes to give in to the fall and feels a pair of hands encircle her waist effortlessly. She opens her eyes to be met with a pair of familiar dark eyes which is smirking at her.
"Hello there beautiful." He says and Sia shakes her head with a chuckle while hitting on his chest.
