Chapter 26
Hey my loves!
This chapter is a bit messily written and I know I need to edit the story after finishing it so bare with my faults.
Love you guys and hope you enjoy this chapter, there's a lot of Sahir and Sia ;)
P.S. I am going on a short trip again next week so I won't be able to update in a while. Hopefully back in ten days, but I don't know how it will affect my writing/updating yet. Sorry :/

Marriage is not only a relationship of the body. It is the union of the heart and the relationship of the soul.

Sahir stands beside the wall made of glass while gazing out in deep thoughts. Last night, he couldn't control his feelings for Sia. He did what he has been wanting to do for a very long time, simply kiss her. His fists clenches at his stupidity, remember you are his son? You are a reflection of him. No, I am not! I don't want to be. You're not worth love and no one can love you, remember what she used to say? You're worthless.
Sahir shuts his eyes and sighs heavily. Slowly opening them he let his teary gaze wander to a peacefully sleeping Sia who's looking breathtaking. Walking up to her with concern, Sahir caresses her hair which makes her stir a bit in her sleep. I'll never become like him and I'll do my best to keep you happy Sia, I promise. With those thoughts and determination he walks out off the room.
Sia rolls around in bed while stretching her arms and yawning widely. Laying on her back she slowly opens her eyes and finds a empty illuminated room. Slowly memories of last night finds Sias mind and her hand raises to her lips. The feel of her swollen lips makes her instantly blush and she runs a hand down her face with a soft smile. She remembers that after breaking from the kiss she had just buried herself in Sahirs shoulders due to embarrassment, or shyness, she isn't even sure. Sahir had chuckled and hugged her tightly, she could feel his violently beating heart against her chest. His heartbeats somehow soothed her.
The opening of the door snaps Sia out of her thoughts and in comes Sahir, speak of the devil, with his one hand behind his back. Sia doesn't know how to act and her heart picks up its pace seeing Sahir smile looking devilishly handsome.
"Good morning princess." He greets with a deep voice making butterflies fly in the pit of Sias stomach.
She tries to breath normally. "Good morning." She manages to say while running a hand down her hair. "What's behind your back?" Sia questions suspiciously with a raised brow while Sahir feels his mouth go a bit dry.
He scratches his neck a bit sheepishly and grins. "I just." He pauses not knowing what to say as everything he had rehearsed just flied out the window. "It is just." He stammers and Sia smiles at his cuteness. "See for yourself." Sahir finally says with twinkles in his eyes while slowly moving his hand from behind.
Sia looks on with narrow eyes while he slowly shifts his hand towards her. Her eyes widens with glee seeing the bouquet of large dark red roses. "Wow." Sia exclaims.
Sahir lets go of a breath he didn't knew he was holding seeing Sia smile excited. "You like them?" He questions and Sia nods grinning.
"I love them!" She tells him.
"Great, they are for you." He smiles widely and as if spellbound she takes them hesitantly from his hands.
"Beautiful." Sia whispers with stars in her eyes and she caresses the bouquet with her hand softly. "Thank you so much Sahir, but what occasion?" She inquires while inhaling the heavenly fragrance.
Sahir smirks. "Remember last night." He winks and Sias cheek instantly goes crimson. "Perfect." Sahir says while staring at Sia gazing the flowers with a soft shy smile.
"Thank you." Sia absentmindedly says again and Sahir smiles.
His hand slowly raises and halts beside Sias cheek. Sias eyes follows his hand closely while she holds her breath. He slowly tucks away a strand of hair from her cheek with his eyes never leaving her and a shiver runs down Sias spine. His fingers leaves behind a trail of burning sensations on her skin.
Sahir clears his voice. "My pleasure." He says and smiles. "Be ready tonight, I am taking you out for dinner."
"Where?" Sia inquires with anticipation.
"Surprise, wear a red saree though." He winks and Sia chuckles.
Sahirs heart fills with warmth seeing Sia happy and without thinking he bends down. He plants a kiss on her forehead while Sia goes rigid. When he leans back to take a look at Sia, she smiles at him softly. "See you tonight." Sia does her best to not make it awkward.
"See you." Sahir says and walks away with a satisfied smile.
At the evening Sia takes a look at herself in the mirror for the hundredth time. Her red saree, silver bangles, straight hair and red lips are on point but still she feels incomplete. She adorns a small stone bindi, which is a forehead decoration and takes a glance at herself. She grimaces.
"I am looking like a fool." She mutters under her breath and runs a hand down her hair.
Just then her mobile vibrates and she receives Sahirs text message.
Sahir: Fiona, your Shrek is at his service. Please, come down to grace him with your presence.
Sia rolls her eyes with a huge smile and with a last glance at herself she leaves the residence with her mobile in her hand. Sahir is standing leaned against the passenger door with his arms crossed, waiting for Sia. When the door to the main gate opens, a breeze blows at Sia making her hair sway behind her beautifully and upon registering Sia, Sahir gapes. He let his eyes travel from her head to toe and back to Sias mesmerizing face, she is simply gorgeous.
With each step she takes towards Sahir, his heart beats louder. Sia is trying to keep herself calm and not run the other way due to his intense gaze on her. When in front of him their gazes locks and Sahir does his best to act normal.
"Beautiful." He comments and Sia smiles shyly looking down, this girl has been blushing a lot lately.
"Thanks, you're not looking bad either." Sia winks to ease the atmosphere and to be honest Sahir always looks handsome in a black suit.
He opens the door for her and they drive off. At the parking Sahir tells Sia to turn around with a mischievous smile and Sia look at him sheepishly.
"Why?" She questions while Sahir takes a step closer to her.
"Do you trust me?" He inquires with a soft raspy voice and Sias heart stops at the sudden question.
Staring into each other's eyes Sahir notices the conflict in Sias eyes and Sia notices the sudden regret in Sahirs. "Yes." She blurts out taking Sahir by surprise. "I do trust you." Sia says to confirm boring her eyes into Sahirs with seriousness evident in them and consequently a overwhelming shiver runs down Sahirs spine.
Sia turns around without any further question and Sahir puts a black blindfold around her eyes. Sia can feel her heart rate accelerate as Sahirs warm breath fans her neck. Sia takes a deep breath when Sahir takes a step to her right while she is engulfed in a dark world. In a swift move Sahir picks Sia up in his arms and a small gasp leaves Sias mouth. She instantly encircles a arm around Sahirs neck while putting the other one on his chest.
The skin on Sahirs chest beneath Sias hand is burning in a different sensation and Sia can feel his loudly beating heart which she smiles to, she has an effect on him.
Sahir nods to the guard and the guard opens the gate. Walking inside Sahir finally halts and puts down Sia. He stands behind her with a genuine smile and opens the blindfold. Sia slowly opens her honey brown eyes and is astonished to witness the beautiful park com garden in front of her.
There's a fountain in the middle and behind it is a white mansion which more resemblances a castle. The whole area is decorated in helium filled heart shaped balloons in red, pink and silver while different candles as well as light is illuminating the garden which is mainly filled with roses. Beside the fountain there's a black framed swing with soft cushions. A little further away is a beautiful round shaped shelter with the floor made of marble and the roof made of glass, it contains a huge bouquet of red roses. Sia grins widely at the same time feeling overwhelmed with all the beauty surrounding her.
"Sahir, this place is surreal! Beautiful." Sia verbalizes delighted and Sahir takes her hand, planting a kiss on it.
"Yes, but not even close to your beauty." He verbalize and Sia goes crimson not expecting such compliment, thankfully the night sky is pitch dark with bright stars giving the full moon company.
Sahir and Sia walk hand in hand towards a table set for two beside the illuminated fountain. He pulls out a chair for her and Sia gratefully takes a seat. Sahir sends a text and in a minute the door to the palace opens and out comes waiters with silver platters as well as drinks. Placing the platters in front of them and taking off the lid, one of the waiters lights a candle in the center of the table.
A group of musicians starts to play live music for them and Sias eyes darts up to a smiling Sahir, both their eyes are shining. "Candlelight dinner under the open sky, not bad hubby." Sia compliments teasingly after the waiters are gone. "On second thoughts this kind of romantic evenings must be normal for you." She smiles but inside she is suddenly feeling a pang of jealousy wash over.
Sahir raises an eyebrow. "Sia, what kind of view do you have of me?" He inquires curiously.
Sia shrugs. "You're a young, and to be honest, attractive businessman so I wouldn't be surprised if you used to be a Casanova." She says while taking a sip of the fresh strawberry and lemon drink.
Sahir chuckles and shakes his head. "Sia, there's only one woman in my entire life that I have put some effort to please." Sahir announces and Sia raises a eyebrow.
"Really, and that's?" Sia inquires and her heart clenches.
Sahir bores his dark eyes into hers timid ones. "You, my beloved wife." Sias eyes widens while her breathing halts, she can't believe her ears. "I never had time, or the will, to flirt or play around as I was focused on reaching the top both in the academic field and business world. Also I can't stand fake and gold digging girls, they're too obvious." Sahir enlightens her truthfully.
"But I heard you used to go to parties with different woman." Sia tells him bluntly.
Sahir nods. "Yes, I either went with my client, colleague or just some acquaintance to not look odd." he shrugs and Sia takes a good look at her husband.
"So you have never before done such gestures for anyone else?" She inquires still suspicious.
Sahir shakes his head and smirks. "Believe it or not, you have made me do a lot of first timers." He smiles and Sia doesn't know how to act but a different kind of warmth spreads to every corner of her body.
The waiters comes back with desert, chocolate cake with different layers and whipped cream. It is placed between them with one single spoon and Sia looks at Sahir questioningly.
"Sharing is caring." He winks and Sia chuckles this time.
He grabs the spoon and feeds Sia first. "This is so amazing." Sia expresses savoring the flavors that dances perfectly on her taste buds.
Sahir shakes his head amused and takes another spoon full of cake to feed her but she stops him. "Taste it Sahir." Sia says and he smiles.
"I am not as much into chocolate as you are." He says and Sia rolls her eyes.
She grabs the spoon from him and places it in front of his lips. "Sharing is caring right?" She winks and Sahir smiles, he lets Sia feed him.
"It is actually good." He praises and Sia smiles widely.
"Told you so." She chuckles proudly.
When done eating Sahir offers Sia his hand which Sia takes smilingly and they walk towards the shelter. Sia gazes the huge bouquet of red roses which is actually taller than her. "May I have this dance with you?" Sahir inquires with his hand forwarded and Sia grins.
She takes his hand and Sahir pulls her towards him in an instant making them collide chest to chest. Sia gulps down when Sahir places his hands on her hips and a shiver runs down her spine. She places her hands on his shoulders and they suddenly sway in sync. "Sahir there's no music." Sia states the obvious and Sahir smiles.
He picks up his phone from his pocket and presses the play button. Suddenly a slow romantic music streams out of the loud speakers installed in the shelter and Sahir winks, he places his warm hand back on Sias hip. Locking eyes they start to sway to the beats. Sahir suddenly twirls her around and pulls her towards him again, Sias heart skips a beat in the process. He spins her away from her and pulls her so her back collides with his chest while their hands are in each others.
Sahir rests his chin on her shoulder and Sia closes her eyes, suddenly he nuzzles into the crock of her neck making Sias heart beat a thousand times faster than usual. Planting a warm kiss on her neck he spins her again and pulls her in to his arms so they face each other. Sia hands are clutching on to Sahirs shirt tightly with her eyes still closed. Sahir rests his forehead on hers closing his own eyes, both can feel each other's sharp warm breaths on their respective lips and their hearts are drumming loudly.
The sound of the sudden heavy rain smashing down around them and the glass roof snaps them out of their trance. Both opens their eyes and softly timidly smiles at each other. Sahir plants a kiss on Sias forehead before releasing her from his grip. Sia runs a hand down her hair not having a clue of how to act.
Sahir kneels down throwing Sia off guard and he takes out something from his pocket. Sahir slowly raises the corner of Sias skirt of the saree a bit above her ankle. Sia freezes to her spot and stares at Sahir with wide eyes.
Sahir encircles her ankle with something cold which makes her shiver and she gazes down to see her grandmothers anklet. Sia furrows her brows confused when Sahir puts a identical anklet on her other ankle. "Sahir, how can you have the other one? That one belongs to Soumya." She asks him hesitantly.
Sahir stands up with a soft grin. "The other one is custom made just for you." He enlightens and Sia stares at him in disbelief.
"But why?" Sia inquires not comprehending it.
"Because you said it was your grandmothers and I am sure she used it on both her ankles, now you can do the same. I just wanted you to have a whole set." He tells her honestly as there is actually no valid reason behind it, he just wanted her to have a pair.
Taking Sahir and herself by surprise Sia wraps her arms around him tightly. "Thank you so much! I have always wanted a pair and used to burrow Soumyas." She squeezes him with glee.
Sahir wraps his arms around her chuckling while nuzzling his face into the crock of her neck he inhales her flowery jasmine fragrance.
"You know when I first found it I had decided to never give it back to you." Sahir blurts out the truth and Sia pulls back from the hug.
She raises an eyebrow at him. "I can imagine, so sad that it wasn't your size. I am sure it would have suited you better." She teases him and Sahir narrows his eyes at her.
"Pardon me?" He shortly answers.
"You heard me." Sia rolls her eyes.
"Sia, it was because I wanted to get back at you." He defends himself and Sia bites her lip to hold back a chuckle.
"Yeah, yeah, is that the best excuse you can come up with? I am sure you used to dance around in it. There's nothing wrong with it Sahir, just admit it." She continues to tease him.
"Sia take it back or else?" Sahir warns her mischievous smirk taking a step towards her.
"Or else?" Sia challenges blinking her eyes with a smile while taking a step back from him.
"Or else I'll make you regret." Sahir says taking another step and she quickly takes another step back, Sahirs smirk widens as he knows she can't run out in the heavy rain.
"Make me." Sia dares him and Sahir takes another step to corner her but is stunned seeing Sia run down the stairs out in the rain.
"Sia it is raining!" He screams after her but Sia chuckles and shows him her tongue while getting drenched in the rain. "Oh no you didn't." Sahir says more to himself and throws his blazer on the bench at the side before running after her, his white shirt turning transparent by the second.
Sias eyes widens and she runs for her life toward the fountain. "Sahir stop!" She screams while running around the fountain as she can't stop giggle.
"Not until I have made you regret your words." He says mischievously and Sia continues giggling.
"Okay, okay sorry!" Sia says tiredly and stops behind the swing.
"Too late darling." He smirks and runs after her.
"Sahir no!" She laughs and Sahir catches her arm which Sia tries to wriggle out of. He pulls her towards him making her back collide with his chest and he falls on the swing with Sia on top of him.
Sahir starts to tickle her and Sia laughs hysterically while squirming in his arms, she can barely breathe. "Sahir stop it now!" She shriek between her laughters and Sahir chuckles seeing her state. "I am sorry!" She cries and finally Sahir stops.
Sia is breathing heavily in Sahirs arms and leans her head back on his shoulder to rest while Sahir holds her in his arms with his chin on Sias shoulder. Sias hands rests on his arms and both of them let the rain calm them down with every droplet pouring on them. Every inch of their body and skin is kissed by the tears of the clouds. The thin material of the red saree is sticking to Sias body as a second skin, as the same with Sahirs white shirt.
Even though it is cold, Sia and Sahirs bodies are working as heaters for each other. The moonlight is caressing their features and making their skin glow. Both of them feels a serenity they haven't felt in a long time and none of them has the intention to change position for the moment. Sahir and Sias souls fills with a soothing warmth upon feeling each other's heartbeats. Their shallow breathings are giving them a hard time to not feel the tingling sensations in the pit of their stomachs.
A fierce thunder makes them snap out of the trance and a small gasp leaves from Sia. Sahirs arms tightens on her while she turns around and hides her face in the crock of his neck with her hands on his chest gripping on to his shirt. Sia is not afraid of thunders but she is scared to be hit by a lightening.
Sahir gets worried himself by the sudden change of weather. "Come Sia, I think it is better if we hurry to the car now." Sia nods and slowly untangles herself from Sahir.
Standing up she runs a hand through her wet hair. When Sahirs eyes lands on her body kissed by the moonlight and the rain his eyes widen. Every inch of her curves are displayed, no part of her figure is playing hide and seek. Her stomach and chest is barely covered by the soaked material of her saree.
"Perfect." Sahir mutters under his breath and Sia narrows her eyes at him.
Sia snaps her fingers in front of Sahirs startling him. "Hey! Aren't you ashamed to check me out like that?" Sia scolds and raises a eyebrow.
Sahir gains back his composure and shakes his head. "No, actually not. Thankfully I have the right to check out those mesmerizing curves you're flaunting." He tells Sia honestly. "Aren't you ashamed to flaunt your curves?" He questions to tease and Sia goes crimson.
"Shut up, it is not like I have a option. I didn't bring a jacket with me." Sia tells him embarrassed and Sahir stands up from the swing.
He runs a hand through his hair and this time Sias eyes widens seeing his perfect muscles beneath his now almost transparent shirt. "You can check me out without gaping." Sahir teases and Sia forcefully slits away her gaze from his body, heat bolting up to her cheeks.
Sahir comes forward to her and leans in to whisper. "I don't mind you checking me out." He says with a wink.
"Shut up Sahir, there's nothing to even check out." Sia says to pull Sahir down from his high horse.
Sahir smirks and pulls her to him in one swift move. "One day you'll be the one to openly admire my body." He says with a raspy voice and a shudder runs down Sias spine.
"We'll see." Sia says rolling her eyes and Sahir smiles.
"We'll see." He repeats after her determined and Sia shakes her head at his overconfidence.
Sahir brings his coat from the shelter and puts it around Sia as she is shivering, the other reason is that he is constantly getting distracted by her drenched body.
Running a hand down his drenched pitch black hair they walk together towards the car with water pouring down on them. Sia is getting tired with her heals as her feet are getting sour and holds Sahirs arm for support. "What happened?" He inquires.
"Nothing just tired of my heals." Sia tells him and Sahir nods.
In a swift move she is carried by him and she gasps clutching on to his shirt. "Sahir put me down, I can walk." She says and Sahir smiles.
"I know but you're slow right now." He teases and Sia rolls her eyes.
She doesn't argue any further as she is actually enjoying being in his arms and she doesn't need to waste her energy on trying to walk properly, it can't get any better. Sia takes a glance of the park over Sahirs shoulder in awe while taking in the beautiful scenario, she especially loves the balloons and the red roses. She can't believe Sahir did all this, for her. Which girl doesn't love being pampered?
The next morning Sahir sighs heavily, he hasn't opened his eyes and can yet feel the bed empty as it is deprived of warmth. Running his hands down his face he opens his heavy eyelids, why is he shivering? Sia comes out of the bathroom with damp hair after taking her usual morning shower. "Good morning." She greets Sahir and he smiles seeing his charming wife.
"Good morning." He greets back but grimaces upon feeling his sour throat.
Sia stares at him alerted and walks over to him. She touches his forehead which is burning. "You're sick." She confirms to herself worried. "Not surprising, he was sneezing in his sleep." She talks to herself and Sahir growls.
"It is nothing, I need to get to work." Sahir pushes the covers from him weakly.
Sia pushes back the cover on him while staring at him with disbelief. "You're not going anywhere." She direct him and takes his phone.
Calling his secretary Ella, she tells her to cancel all of his appointments today and if necessary have conference calls but Sahir won't be coming to office today. Sahir is objecting from the side but has no energy to get up and fight with Sia. His nose starts to run too and he frowns disgusted. Sia hands him a box of tissues and he gladly take them, Sia bites her lip to hold back a chuckle seeing Sahirs state, he is looking like a kid who has been denied candy.
Sahir pulls Sia so she falls on the bed with a thud, Sia stares at him widely while Sahir just continues to hug her. "I am sleepy." He says and locks her between his fiery arms while nuzzling into her neck.
"You don't need me to sleep." She voice astonished.
"Yes, I do. I can't fall asleep without you." He states and a soft smile plays on Sias lips hearing that.
"Sahir, I'll just be back." She says and Sahir shakes his head not budging. "Sahir, give me a few minutes, I'll be back." He growls but let her go.
Sia brings him lemon tea with honey and ginger. With that she makes him eat a sandwich and makes him gulp down a glass of water. "Please let me sleep now." He pleads and Sia smiles.
"One second." She says and Sahir pouts which makes Sia smile in affection while she hands him a tablet. "Take this aspirin and hopefully you'll wake up feeling better." Sia tells him and he does as she says.
"No more excuses!" He says and pulls her to him firmly.
Sia chuckles and lays down next to him. He instantly encircles her waist and rest his head on her shoulder. Sia wraps her arms around him and plays with his hair until he falls asleep.
Sia takes care of Sahir the whole day. She even handles his business calls and do her best to solve every issue she is handed. When Sahirs fever gets up a notch in his sleep Sia gets a bit worried. She immediately tries to cool him down by dipping a small towel in lukewarm water and dab it on his forehead. She also tries to give him a sponge bath on the areas she can access. When doing that she has a hard time to not admire his abs, he actually got a six pack. Sia goes crimson and just prays that Sahir doesn't catch her in this state, she quickly pulls the edge of his t-shirt so it covers him.
When Sahir wakes up in the evening Sia brings him vegetable soup which she has made for Sahir. Sahir doesn't want to eat but Sia forcefully makes him sit up and feeds him herself. Sia can feel Sahirs intense gaze prick her skin as he stare at her in deep thoughts, he is loving the way she is caring for him.
When done feeding him she wipes the corner of his mouth with her thumb. "Sahir." Sia hesitantly says.
"Hmm?" Sahir looks at her, tired written across his face.
"I never thanked you for yesterday." She leans forward halting a inch away from his face, making sure that every sense in Sahir wakes up. Sia stares in to his sudden wide eyes with her eyes twinkling and a small innocent smile plays on her lips. She tilts her head and plants a small soft kiss on Sahirs cheek which makes Sahir hold his breath. "Thank you for making me feel special hubby." Sahir feels giddy and Sia winks at him.
She stands up but Sahir grabs her hand. "My pleasure." He says after composing himself and he plants a tender kiss on Sias hand. "Thank you for taking care of me, I am already feeling better." Sahir verbalizes with gratitude and Sia offers him a warm smile.
Sahir falls back to sleep due to tiredness. When Sia goes to bed that night she stares at a innocent looking Sahir who has his mouth slightly parted. She caresses his cheek and he stirs. "Good night baby." She whispers warmly. Smiling she switching off the light and tries to give in to slumber.
Sahirs body suddenly tenses. "No, please." He gasps in his sleep making Sia turn around frightened. "I am sorry." He cries and Sia switches the light back on not knowing what to do she just stares at him with a drumming heart. "I didn't do anything. I am not like him." He whispers and tears escapes his closed eyes and Sias heart clenches seeing him grimace in pain.
"Sahir?" She tries and runs her hand down his hair while her own tears starts to prick her eyelids, what's happening?
"No!" A ear piercing scream echoes in the room startling Sia, the impact makes her heart skip a beat in panic while Sahir sits up straight in bed. "Shit." Sahir mumble with one hand fisting his hair, he hasn't had this nightmare in a long time.
He breathes heavily while running his hands down his face to then bury it in them. Not knowing what to do Sia slowly engulfs him in a bone crushing hug. "It was just a dream, everything is ok." Sias soft trembling voice tries to sooth him.
Sahir stiffens in Sias arms, did she just witness that? He growls annoyed by himself. "Sahir, I am here to stay regardless of what you think or feel." Sia tries to assure him truthfully.
Sias words makes a pang of guilt hit him. He instantly wraps his arms around her and let her sooth him. Her violently beating heart, her fragrance, velvety voice, soft arms and body makes him calm down. "Sia, you know nothing about me. There's a reason why I have never wanted to get close to anyone romantically." He cringes at the word romantic and pulls away from Sia to once again bury his face in his hands.
Sia inaudibly sighs and runs a hand through Sahirs hair to calm him. "Sahir, I know who you are today and that's enough for me. You're my handsome caring Shrek, who has built a hard wall around him to shield himself from getting hurt. In spite of most of the time getting on my nerves I know you are good at heart as your actions speaks for you, that's all that matters." Sia honestly tell him a piece of her mind.
Sahirs head darts towards her. "How can you be sure that I won't be hurting you?" he inquires with creased forehead.
Sia smiles. "You won't. I just know." She confidentially states with warmth in her eyes which makes Sahirs heart clench in agony.
He looks down on his hands and then bores his dark eyes into Sias. "Sia, I am scarred and messed up. I grew up in a household with nothing else but war, my own mother despised me for years." Sahir shares with glossy eyes and Sia just stares at him astonished at the revelation.
