The whole residence is filled with pink and silver balloons in honor of Sahirs sisters Saafas 18th birthday. The decoration is in the same color with everything looking magical. The whole house is buzzing with friends and family. Still, Sahirs eyes keeps searching for the one and only person who seem to be able to hold his attention these days.

During their phone conversation Sahir was fuming and blurted out a lot in anger which he now regrets. He is still angry though but a smile is plastered across his face. Chatting a bit with Sias family and then other guests it is time for cake cutting.

His younger sister is looking charming and gleeful. After singing the birthday song, cutting the cake, making wishes and feeding the birthday girl Sahir leaves frustrated to his study room. He isn't kin in illuminating the room and walks straight to the window without turning the lights on. From there he stares out, waiting for a certain someone while leaning against the frame.

When half an hour later his eyes registers his wife coming out of a unfamiliar car his mind starts to rant. With a frown his eyes follows his cheerful and all smiling wife.

Sia doesn't want to enter the party in her casual work close and bites her nails in nervousness. She browses her phone and calls her mother-in-law. Mrs. Khan is thankfully a really humble mother-in-law and understands Sia. She quickly gathers Sias dress, jewelries and makeup box to head towards the room closest to the main door. She opens the door for Sia and rushes her to the room before anyone notices her. After quickly getting dressed Sia graces the party with her presence. Greeting guests and hugging Saafa tightly she goes to meet her family. Hugging them she feels at peace while her siblings fools around with her.

"Sia, are you sure it won't be a problem at home for your delay?" Sias mother corners her and expresses her worry.

Sia smiles and hugs her mother sideways. "No, mom don't worry. They're understanding." Sia partially tell the truth as Sahir is another story. "Have you seen Sahir?" She finally questions as her eyes roams around in the crowd.

Sias mother smiles. "He was here but left awhile ago." She enlightens her distraught daughter.

"Left where?" Sia instantly questions anticipated.

Her mother smiles warmly. "Inside the house, might be in your room?" Sia nods and excuses herself.

She finds her room empty and walks to the only place she can think he is in. What surprises her is that the study room is also empty. However, she can sense that he was present here as faint fragrance of his cologne reaches her nostrils. Closing the door she turns to head back to the party but halts seeing the door to the terrace com garden open.

Walking up to the door she peaks in to see her hubby dearest sit on the swing. Sia sits down beside him and the cold breeze makes a shiver run down her spine. Sahir doesn't spare her a glance and continues staring out over the city. "I am sorry Sahir, I really am." A hurt Sia tries to break the ice.

Sahir finally shifts his gaze towards her. Seeing his wife decked up in a beautiful black top and red skirt, showing off her flat tummy he can't look away. Even though she has a matching scarf, hanging from her shoulder, it is barely covering anything. Gulping down he takes off his blazer and covers her as she is shivering. Sia accepts his sweet gesture gratefully with a smile.

"Who dropped you?" Sahir slowly asks making Sia both alert and nervous at the same time. "It was Sameer wasn't it?" Sahir continues with a raspy voice when he doesn't receive any answer from Sia.

Sia looks at him surprised and finally manages to gives a short nod. "Yes." She sighs and before they can continue on the topic a group of Sahirs friends enter to join them.

"Are we disturbing the love birds?" One of Sahirs friends, Arjun, jokes and Sia gives a soft smile.

"In fact you were." Sahir shrugs and Sia shakes her head at his bizarre answer while his friends burst out laughing.

Chitchatting with Sahirs friends into midnight and a couple of hours after that, the house turns empty and awfully quiet again. Wishing Saafa the best in life ones again with hugs and kisses the couple goes to their room, both of them drained out of energy. Sia is just happy knowing that Saafa had a blast with her friends and family.

A few steps into their bedroom and Sahir continues from where they had left off. "Wow, so is it really a coincident or should I be smelling something fishy?" He comments and Sia messages her temples in a attempt to calm herself down.

Sameer was his usual self today, he flirted but he was in his limits and he didn't speak ill of Sahir which was one of her conditions before accepting his offer to drive her home. He told her about his business, a bit about himself and talked about random topics. "I really don't know Sahir, what do you think?" Sia questions him tiredly.

Sahir didn't expect that kind of reply. "Why did you even need to ride with him? Where's your car?" He instead asks confused with crossed arms as if it is a shield to protect him from whatever may come.

Sia tuck away her hair behind her ears. "I took the bus today as my car is in for service." She says and takes off her heavy earrings.

Sahir frowns and changes to his casual clothes. "You couldn't tell me that or take any of my cars?" He inquires while he puts on a white shirt.

Sia shrugs. "In the morning you were in a hurry and no it felt wrong without your permission." She says while taking of her necklace and bangles.

Sahir narrows his eyes at her and runs a hand down his face in frustration. "Firstly you don't need my permission as you have it. Secondly it didn't feel wrong to take lift and that to from Sameer?" He inquires aggravated.

Sia snaps now. "I didn't take a lift! He offered me! I declined but he insisted and wanting to reach her as quickly as possible I accepted the offer. Sahir he is actually nice! I consider him as a friendly acquaintance." She tells him honestly and Sahir fumes.

"He wants you! Can't you see that?" He snaps back at her with his hands in the air.

Sia pinches the bridge on her nose and sighs."He doesn't want me and even if he does then it doesn't matter as I don't want him! Stop being so jealous over nothing." Sia notify him annoyed.

Sahir gives out a humorless dry laugh and then turns serious. "Nothing Sia? Nothing? So if I bring a girl home you won't be bothered?" He questions disgusted and Sia keeps a plain expression.

She bores her eyes into his dark ones. "No, not at all." As soon as her words leaves her lips Sahirs eyes fires up.

"Fine." He growls running down his hands over his face.

Sia shakes her head. "Great." She mutters.

"Marvelous." He tells sarcastically.

"Shut up Sahir." Sia tells him frustrated as she is craving for peace.

"No I won't, what will you do?" Sahir challenges and Sia gets a headache.

"Get out!" She crosses her arms over her chest.

"What?" Sahirs brows furrows.

"I can't bear you right now and you're not sleeping here tonight." She enlightens him with a shrug.

"This is my room." He throws back at her and crosses his own arms making sure his muscles are well evident beneath his shirt.

Sia has a hard time looking away but manages to force herself to keep eye contact with him."No, don't you remember? You have given me the authority over everything so this room is mine. So be a man who sticks to his words and leave." She gives a small smile to annoy him.

"Fine." Sahirs voice booms and Sia instantly regrets her words.

Sahir leaves the room fuming while Sia sits down on the bed hurt and frustrated. She can't believe she kicked him out of his own room and guilt is now swallowing her. Running a hand down her hair she decides to get ready for bed. She is too tired to think.

Sahir on the other hand storms into the guest room close to their own. He clenches his fist and punches the pillow in anger. He can't believe that she used his own words against him. Running a hand down his smooth black hair he lays down on the bed and sighs frustrated.

Sia closes her eyes and tries to find herself a comfortable position. While Sahir twist and turns but feel cold even though he has the duvet covering him. Sia sighs heavily and places her arm over her eyes and tries to sleep. Sahir places his arms on his abdomen and tries to push away his thoughts. Both of them can feel that something is missing and however hard they try to push aside their thoughts their subconscious is pricking them. This is going to be a very long night.

After twisting and turning over more than two hours Sia has had enough. She is tired and needs to wake up early. Pushing away the duvet she tiptoes out of the room. Slowly walking in to the guest room she stares surprised at the empty bed. Where is he?

Suddenly a hand covers her mouth from behind and her screams get muffled. She is tossed around and positioned in front of the wall. "You?!" He says and Sias eyes closes while she instantly calms down realizing that it is her stupid husband. "What are you doing here? At first I thought you were a thief." Sia narrows her eyes at him.

"Thief?" She tries to say but her word gets muffled under his hand while her soft lips caresses his palm.

Sahir gazes at his hand and then shifts his focus to her eyes, Sia realizes their approximity and gets nervous. He is so close to her that his warm breath is fanning her. With both of their hearts drumming fiercely Sahir decides to take a step back and let his hand drop. Sia gulps and inhales a sharp breath in relief.

"What brings you here?" Sahir questions with intensity in his eyes.

"Why are you still awake?" Sia asks instead as she somehow knows he is having a hard time himself without her.

"I asked first." Sahir persists crossing his arms.

Sia plasters a fake smile. "Fine, I couldn't sleep." She honestly tells him and Sahir smirks amused.

"Mind telling me why?" He inquires with a raised eyebrow.

Sia mimics him and raises her eyebrow while crossing her arms. "The same reason as why you're still awake, don't act smart." She throws at him making him shake his head.

He looks up at her with glee in his eyes. "Is it so hard for you to say that you can't sleep without me?" Sia cringes hearing those words.

Sahir holds back a chuckle seeing her expression. "Don't say that, it sounds awful. Let just go to bed." She says and turns around but Sahirs words stops her.

"No, I am a man of my words." He tells her smugly and Sia turns around with a 'are you kidding' me look.

Sahir shrugs seeing her expression and Sia blinks her eyes astonished. "Sahir, just come to bed. No tantrums, I need to wake up early tomorrow." Sahir shakes his head indicating a no and Sia frowns at his stubbornness. "Fine, serve yourself." she sneers frustrated and turns around to leave but Sahir grabs her hand.

Sia turns her head around to witness a amused Sahir with gleaming eyes. "I can't sleep in my room but you can sleep here." He tells her smugly and Sia shakes her head at his silliness.

"Whatever." She sighs and lays down at the empty spot next to his.

Sahir joins her and encircles her in his big warm arms to pull her closer. "Good night Fiona." He smirks while planting a kiss on her forehead.

"Good night Shrek." Sia mumbles with her head resting on his shoulder and her arm around his torso, this time it doesn't take long for them to fall asleep neither does it take long for Sandman to visit them.

At the evening the next day Sia comes home tiredly and orders a pizza. Munching on it she sits down in the living room and watches Tom and Jerry which is on air. The house feels awfully empty as Mrs. Khan and Saafa has gone out of town to visit some relatives. When Sahir finally arrives Sia gets thrilled but seeing the lady beside him her smile drops.

"Hi Sia ma'am." Hazels mock of a greeting slaps Sia across the face.

Sia plasters a small smile. "Hi." She shortly replies and turns her attention to Sahir with narrowed eyes.

Sahir keeps a kin eyes on Sias every expression. "We are going to work on a project." He slowly says.

Sia gives a amused smile when she isn't feeling even a bit amused. "A project huh, really? Have fun." She says and walks to the kitchen where Linda, a friend and helper around the house, is located.

"Sia is everything alright?" Linda asks with worry evidence in her soft brown eyes.

Sia nods with a smile. "Yes, perfectly fine. We have a guest so can you please fix a tray with some snacks and drinks?" Sia politely asks and Linda agrees.

Walking out with the tray to the living room she finds Sahir and Hazel next to each other on the couch with the laptop. As close as Hazel is sitting next to Sahir her bare slender legs in miniskirt is touching his legs. Why not just sit on his lap? Sia thinks for herself annoyed. She places the tray on the table with a thud grabbing their attention. "Sorry." She politely offers while Hazel has a bored expression.

"Thanks." Sahir says with his gaze on her while Sia faints a smile and walks away.

Even though Sia is acting nonchalantly she is burning inside. She sits down on the couch in their room and calls Sanaya to chitchat. With Sanaya all her worries vanishes, she laughs freely and the time flies by. When Sahir suddenly graces the room with his presence, after Hazel has left, Sias laughter dies. She tells Sanaya that she'll call her later and cuts the call short.

"So you really don't care?" Sahir inquires perplexed.

Sia shrugs. "What's there to care about?" She doesn't budge and stares at her phone.

"How can you be so unaffected?" Sahir asks her disappointed with hurt evident in his black eyes.

Sia raises an eyebrow. "Because it is way too obvious that you're trying to make me jealous Sahir." Sia enlightens him rolling her eyes while he stands there with a childish scowl and pouts. "Seriously, off all the people you could bring home you decided to bring the one I can't stand?" Sia inquires baffled.

"Yeah and for that reason it should have worked." Sahir blurts out his mind.

Sia stands up and walks up to him. "What should have worked?" Sia crosses her arms and questions him.

Sahir shrugs. "I wanted to make my point come across, that you won't be unaffected if I bring a girl home." She bores his dark intense eyes into hers.

"Sahir you're just so dense." Sia shakes her head while heaving a sigh.

Sahir scowls. "And you're stubborn, can't you just admit that you care and do get affected?" He tells her straightaway making her surprised.

Sia composes herself and glares at him. "Sahir I am sick of this topic. Just take what's yours and get out of this room. I don't want to breathe in the same room as you right now." She demands with hands in the air.

Sahir ponders for a few seconds before surprising Sia by picking her up. He then throws her on his shoulder in a swift move while she screams. He secures her by holding his arm across the back of her knees and holds her hand in his free one. "Sahir!" Sia screams and hits him on his back. "Put me down!"

Not budging Sahir walks out of the room while Sia keeps screaming and scolding. "What? You told me to pick up what belongs to me and you belong to me!" Sahir says while walking to the guestroom.

"Sahir you're mad! Just put me down." Sahir sighs and does as she says.

Sia is a bit dizzy and holds on to his shirt while Sahir looks at her worred. "Are you alright?" He inquires and Sia pushes herself away from him.

"Yes, fine." She says. "What do you want Sahir?" She sighs tiredly.

"Sia I just." He starts. "Don't you see what I want? Don't you see that I?" Sahir doesn't continue as realization hits him.

Stunned he takes a step back from her. "Sahir?" Sia whispers furrowing her brows but a pale Sahir just turns around and storms out of the room leaving behind a surprised Sia.

From beside the wall of glass she can see Sahir drive off. She sits down on the couch worried for his safety and her heart drums harshly in her chest. Agonized Sia strolls back and forth in her room, her anxiety starts to flare up as the hours starts to pass.

Bad thoughts makes a shiver run down her spine and a tear escapes her eye. What if something dreadful occurs? The door suddenly flies open startling Sia. Turning around she runs to Sahir and stops a few feet away from him distressed noticing his condition. The strong scent of alcohol hits her and he fumble with his steps.

"Why can't I keep myself away from you? Why do you effect me so much?" Sahir slurs with a raspy voice while Sias heart starts to pick up its speed. "Why do I adore the little things you do? One simple smile of yours makes me want to kiss your dimples." Gulping Sia takes hold of him and helps him to bed while holding back her tears, she believes that it is her fault that he is in this condition. "One simple tear off yours make me forget everything I stand for. Why are you making me feel that stupid emotion?" Sia stands there shell shocked of his next words. "Sia love can't exist in my dictionary. I'll end up hurting you too. Just like mom being hurt. I have cheating and betrayal running in my blood. That's why I am trying to treat you like a friend, nothing less nothing more. Then why do I end up feeling different for you. I need to stay away from you but then again I don't want to and I can't stay away." With those words Sahir falls into unconsciousness while Sia can't move from her spot.

She stares at him as if she just witnessed a ghost. What just happened? His words keeps replaying in her mind and she starts to cry. She didn't know that Sahir had locked up so much emotions inside of him and that there might be more to him that has formed him to the person he is today. Getting out of her trans she pulls away his jacket from him, undo his tie and takes off his shoes. She seizes his mobile from his hand to keep it on the bedside table and accidentally presses a button so it lights up.

She furrows her eyebrows and takes a second look at the phone. Gently taking it in her hands she stares at his background picture with a drumming heart. It's a picture of her sleeping with a peaceful smile etched to her lips and her dimples showing off perfectly. Gulping down the pain in her throat she places his cell on the table and smiles while a tear softly rolls down from the corner of her eye. Running a hand down his soft hair she places a tender kiss on his cheek, right above his dimple.

The next morning Sahir growls while waking up clutching on to his hurting head. Opening his eyes slowly and letting his eyes adjust to the light, he finds Sia sitting beside him with a soft smile. He heaves himself up and sits down on the bed leaning his head back. Sia hands him a glass of water and a aspirin which Sahir gladly accepts. "Thanks." he mumbles after swallowing the aspirin and last night slowly unfolds in his head.

"Last night you were saying things about your past, what was that all about?" Sia softly questions and purposely avoids the topic about his rants about her.

Sahir sighs. "I don't know. It must have been the alcohol." Sahir replies curtly and throws away the duvett of him. "I need to get to work." he claims and walks away to the washroom to change.

Sia sits there with a blank expression, she isn't going to push him on the topic. Before walking out of the room he grabs the wallet on the table and drives off to work. He has a severe hangover and curses himself for losing his composure, taking a glance at the wallet he had thrown on the passenger seat he frowns. "Crap, that's not mine." He growls and sees a corner of a piece of paper sticking out.

Walking to his office he opens it to place the paper intact so it doesn't fall out and is surprised at what he finds. His eyes darts between himself and a beautiful Sia, they are staring into each other's eyes. He stares at the picture in front of him with admiration visible in his eyes. The picture is from Arnav and Sanayas wedding. Sahir sighs and runs a hand through his hair while he is ashamed of his own antics. He calls a driver to his office to order him to drive back Sias wallet and bring back his own.

That night when Sahir arrives home and sits down to work on his laptop Sia comes in with two cups of hot chocolate plus a lot of cookies. She then forces Sahir to sit down with her on the floor.

"I am working Sia." He tries to reason with her but Sia doesn't budge and drags him by his arm.

Sia adjusts her short black dress. "And I don't care. Shrek, you owe me this much. We're going to talk. I want to know more about you." She demands pouting and Sahir gives up seeing his adorable wife acting childish.

Sahir sighs. "As you wish madam." He sits down with her on the carpeted floor in front of the wall made of glass. They gazes over the city and the star lit sky at the same time. Sia takes a sip of her warm drink while asking Sahir about his younger years and Sahir replies to her questions one by one.

With Sahirs description it gives away that, during his younger years, he used to be a goodie two shoes and used to breathe his course books. "Wow, you pretty much used to be a bore." Sia comments astonished which Sahir rolls his eyes to. "You know when I went to collage I was a total tomboy. I even used to beat people up." Sia chuckles at her own memory.

"Well, I used to be reserved and avoided fights as much as possible." Sahir frankly tells her with a shrug.

Sia looks surprised. "Really? I used to pick up fights for some odd reason. There was this one time that a boy had just looked at me and smiled." Sia takes a pause as if trying to remember the story correctly. "I actually jumped on him and punched his nose till he bled." Sia is now literally lying on the floor starring at the night sky and laughing while sharing stories with Sahir about her childhood.

She is twirling a strand of hair around her index finger which Sahir smiles to. "Wow, I am glad I didn't meet you back then." Sahir jokes with his hands raised as if he is backing off when Sia narrows her eyes at him.

Sia chuckles and tucks away a strand of hair behind her ear. "Well, back then you wouldn't be able to handle me. Actually, not now either." She teases and Sahir smirks back.

"I am sure I could and can, you know girls faint just by my presence." He boasts with his head held up high as if he is very proud of that accomplishment and Sia rolls her eyes.

She heaves up and takes a sip of her cocoa to then lay down again. "Of course, I mean you know Shrek and odor." Sia freely laughs with a wave of her hand and Sahir savors the moment as she happily continues talking about the past.

That's what mesmerizes Sahir. When she is laying on the carpet with messy hair, laughing at a memory that occurred years ago with her dimples displayed and her eyes twinkling, that's when she is the most beautiful. Sure Sia is beautiful when she is fancied up and tries to impress on people but this is just something else. Sahir can't take his eyes of her when she is just herself, comfortable and beaming.

Without thinking Sahir comes forward and takes her hand. In a matter of a second he pulls her up in to his arms and rest his hands on her back. Sia stares at him with wide eyes surprised at their approximate as she is sitting a mere inch away from him letting their breath mingle and become one.

Both of their breathing hitches as Sahir eyes her intensely while Sias hands are resting on his muscular arms. Sahirs mind tells him to stay away but his heart tells him something else. Sias heart is leaping violently in her chest and she wouldn't be surprised if it any moment jumped out.

Sahirs hand slowly finds its way to Sias cheek and caresses it. His thumb then slowly strokes her lips. Sia closes her eyes and shudders under his touch while Sahir doesn't give a second thought before leaning in to finally grace her soft lips with his own.
