Chapter 19

Hello beautiful!

So here is another chapter and I hope you like it. It is not proof read though :/ I tried to have a bit more of Sahirs thoughts in the beginning of the chapter. The thing is that I will be putting more of Sahirs thoughts in the future when some of his past will open up a bit more. For now it is easier to focus on the present.

Hope you guys like it this way also, and as always you can request things and I'll be trying my best to fulfill them <3

By the way, I have started to work so for two whole weeks I am working every single day. That's why you'll only get one update per week but they're kind of lengthy so hope it will compensate for that <3

Afterwards when my real vacation starts then I'll try my best to update more frequently.

Love you guys for your amazing support! <3 I wish you guys the best in life <3

The face is the mirror of the mind, and eyes without speaking confess the secrets of the heart. There are no secrets that time does not reveal.

Sahir is pacing back and forth in his study. Why can't Sia just let that one event go? He doesn't want to speak about that particular topic because that brings back wounds of his childhood. Can't she just trust him on the fact that he has nothing to do with the destruction of Sameer Jays factory? Does he really need to verbalize everything? Can't she see that the only reason Sameer Jay wants to drag him to court is because he is trying to ruin the reputation of his?

Sahir sits down on his black chair and leans back with a sigh. Messaging his temples he inhales sharp breaths. Yes, he might have been harsh on leaving Sia while she was crying but he couldn't see her cry and neither could he tell her about his past. He isn't ready for that and might never be. Pictures of Sias tear stricken face flashes thorough his mind and makes him cringe.

He decides to occupy himself in work in an attempt to subside his feeling of guilt, not to mention to distract his mind from a certain someone.

When he has succeeded in working past midnight he rubs his eyes tiredly, his subconscious mind hasn't left Sia for even a moment. Her radiant smile is always etched in the back of his mind. Deciding to walk back into his room he is surprised to see Sia awake on the bed reading a book. Pride and prejudice is written across the frame. Sias attention shifts to Sahir who is staring at her with a distant gaze.

Sia offers him a soft uncertain smile and Sahir turns around ignoring it. "I am sorry." She quickly says and sits straight up on the bed with a drumming heart.

Sahir believes that his ears are playing games with him and he takes another step away from her. "Sahir please." She says with a bruised ego and this time he halts. "I am sorry for pushing you. Whatever you are hiding is your secret to share and you're allowed to keep it with you as long as you like." She has been thinking and came to the conclusion that pushing him to tell her about something he doesn't want to talk about will lead to grudges.

This marriage is already different, rocky to be more precise, and pushing it will only lead to more arguments and problems which will eventually lead to more heartache. She has promised to act civil with him and so shall she do.

Sahir turns around and takes in her features. Soft chocolate rich wavy hair is cascading down over her baby pink night gown. Her soft eyes are looking worried which makes Sahir sigh.

He rubs his temples and hope to be able to think straight. "Sia you don't need to apologize. I am sorry for rudely leaving the room." Surprise is written all across Sia, she isn't used to hear Sahir apologize as it is extremely rare for him to utter those words. "I am sorry for walking away but I am not ready to talk about that specific topic." Sia nods understandingly, everyone has secrets.

Sia waves her hand. "Don't worry about it. We don't need to." She smiles and with a thoughtful nod he walks into his closet to change.

When he comes back to bed Sia has already put away the book and is gazing the pale ceiling. He gently lays down next to her and stares at her, which Sia obviously notices. Every time Sahirs eyes roams on Sia the skin beneath his gaze starts to burn. She tries to remain calm and breathe evenly under his scrutinizing eyes, not to mention sharp.

"What are you thinking about?" Sahir questions her, just seeing her makes his heart pump warmth to every corner of his body.

The emotions he is feeling for Sia is hard to ignore but he is damn good at hiding them. "Nothing." Sia whispers barely audible.

About me and you, she thinks for herself.

Sahirs eyes trails down to her plump lips. "How come you suddenly asked me about the fire incident?" Sahir inquires as curiosity takes over.

Sia inhales a sharp breath and continues staring at the ceiling. "Because Sameer visited me at the store today." On hearing that Sahir instantly stiffens, did she just call him with his first name only?

His jaw unintentionally clenches and his hands turns into fists. She tells him about the whole encounter as she doesn't want him to blow off if he ever hears it from a third partner. The room falls into a deadly silence and Sia momentary thinks that Sahir has fallen asleep.

She turns her head to meet a pair of dark eyes blazing in anger and Sias heart skips several beats in panic. Sahir holds her eyes in his intense ones and makes it hard for Sia to look away even though she wants too. "He kissed your hand?" His voice comes out harsh and slightly hoarse.

Sias raises an eyebrow, is he kidding her with that question?

Sia searches for something in his eyes, obviously that's the only thing he snaps up. The possessive Sahir is definitely back. As Sias mouth goes dry she only nods as a reply. Sahir continues to stare into her eyes and the feelings inside of him is slowly burning him down. He wants Sameer to stay away from Sia at any cost.

Taking hold of her hand firmly he holds it up. "Was it this hand he kissed?" Sia is actually scared of Sahir right now, not understand where he is going with this.

Sia slightly nods and Sahir gently shifts her hand towards him, he plants a kiss on her knuckles and Sias eyes widens at his gesture. Blinking several time she tries to get rid of the tingles he is causing in the pit of her stomach. He continues to plant soft kisses on every single spot on her knuckles and Sia lays there dumbfounded holding her breath with her eyes resting into his dark ones. "You're mine Sia don't forget that. I don't care what kind of relationship we share, I won't accept anyone else in your life beside me." He warns her and Sia is too shocked to even answer him.

He gently leaves her hand on the pillow beside her without leaving her eyes making goose bumps form all over her body. Sia clears her throat before being able to form coherent words. "I thought you and I am free from any bound." She says which makes Sahir frown.

"As long as your name is attached to mine, we are linked. That's it." He closes the topic. "Good night Sia." Sahir utters and turns of the lights in the room.

"Good night." She voices and tries to shake of the tingling feelings while fisting the hand he just kissed.

The room goes pitch dark but even then Sahir can't fall asleep. He finds himself wide awake as his insomnia kicks in. He turns left and right to find a comfortable position in his ironically comfortable bed. He tries to stop pacing around as he doesn't want to disturb Sia and tries to fall asleep on his back. Sahir end up staring at the weirdly interesting ceiling and doesn't know what to do, he instead decides to work on his project. "What's wrong?" He hears Sia verbalize before he can make his thoughts real.

"Aren't you asleep?" Sahir questions astonished.

"Of course I am, talking in my sleep is my drill." Sia answers sarcastically and Sahir rolls his eyes. "Can you now tell me what's bothering you?" She questions again.

"Nothing actually, I just have insomnia so takes time for me to fall asleep." Sahir shrugs.

"Yeah, hard to miss with your sharp breathings and turning back and forth." Sia shakes her head a bit and Sahir raises a eyebrow, should he feel offended? "You slept well the last two days?" She further inquires running a hand through her hair.

"I know but I have my days when I can't fall asleep." Sahir states bitterly, he is annoyed at himself for making Sia pick up his sleeping disorders and for disturbing her.

Sia sighs and gets up from the bed. "I'll be right back." She says and exists the room to Sahirs surprise.

Sahir browses through his phone bored while waiting for Sia, after fifteen minutes she is back with two glasses on a tray. Sia walks to the table in the more center of the room and places the tray on top of it. She sits down on the couch and turns her gaze towards Sahir. "Do you need a invitation?" She inquires with raised eyebrows and Sahir pushes away the cover from him.

Heaving himself up he walks towards Sia and looks at the white drink with slightly furrowed eyebrows. "What's that?" He asks and Sia takes hold of his wrist and makes him sit down beside her with a swift move.

Sahir ignores the sensation caused by the contact of her soft hand on his skin. Sia takes a glass and offers him one and takes one herself. "It is warm milk and is usually relaxing." Sia informs Sahir and Sahir grimaces.

"I don't like milk." He claims and Sia glares at him.

"And I don't care, you're drinking it and that's it." She shrugs as she won't let the milk go to waste.

"You can't force me." He utters grumpily.

Sia raises an eyebrow. "Try me." She challenges and Sahir accepts her challenge.

"I am not drinking it, let us see if you can force me." He puts the glass on the table and crosses his arms.

Sia sighs seeing her husband acting beyond childish. "Sahir, it is good for you. If you can fall asleep easier then it is beneficial for you, right?" Sia takes his glass again. "Okay look, one sip and if you truly don't find it okay to drink it then I won't force you." She pleads with her eyes while pressing the cold glass to his lips.

Sahir obeys and takes a sip holding Sias soft hands over the glass. Even though he grimaces he is enjoying the flavor. It is a different taste. "Not because it is good but because I want to fall asleep." He says with a shrug and takes the glass from her, Sias lips breaks into a smile.

"Whatever makes you sleep at night." Sia winks and Sahir chuckles seeing her eyes sparkle up childishly.

Sia takes her own glass and takes a sip of her now lukewarm drink. Sitting with her feet on the edge of the couch and her knees to her chest she rests her arms on her knees.

The sudden silence in the room makes them more alert of the presence of each other. Taking small sips from their respective drink they instead get more energetic. What's sleep again?

"When I was younger my mom used to force me to drink warm milk before going to bed." Sia suddenly reminisces cutting through the silence. "I used to hate it and sometimes I would force Soumya into drinking my glass of milk or make my brother Sagar drink it by emotional blackmail." She laughs while Sahir smiles while gazing Sia.

He loves how carefree and peaceful she is sounding right now. "Didn't your mom ever catch you?" Sahir inquires just so she can go on and he can watch her speak.

Sia chuckles at that with a far away gaze. "She did, then and now but Sagar always covered for me." She says and a tear rolls down from the corner of her eye while she smiles at the memory.

Before the teardrop can fall from her cheek Sahir subconsciously catches it and Sia looks surprised at his hand and shifts her gaze astonished to his eyes. Sahir is staring at the tear drop on his palm equally shocked, he quickly let his hand drop. "That's what brothers are for, I used to cover a lot for Safaa and then scold her as she deserved the scolding." He diverts the topic quickly and Sia laughs at that.

"Same as Sagar then." She says and they continue talking about nothing and all.

Sahir chuckles. "Remember the first encounter we had?" He questions her amused and Sia nods.

"How can I forget? The first ever spoilt brat that have behaved so rudely with me." She says shaking her head. "Do you know how arrogant you are?" Sia questions him.

"Excuse me? I saved you from falling and you pushed me away!" Sahir exclaims and they both remembers the fall where Sia ended up in his arms, Sia is glad the room is a bit dimmed as her cheeks are turning pink due to the blood rushing towards them.

"Oh please? You were rude! You pushed me to a wall, broke my bangles and even let the pieces pierce through my wrists!" Sia complains and Sahir grimaces, yeah he knows he was horrible but will he admit it?

"Remember the girl who bit me as if being a ten year old kid?" Sahir questions shaking his head.

"You so deserved it! You challenged me!" She says crossing her arms over her chest.

Sahir furrows his eyebrow. "Yeah like the time I challenged you to slap me for saving you from the drunk man?" He further reminisces.

Sia shrugs. "Well, you deserved it then too as you actually called him back to get me!" She says irritated at his rudeness.

Sahir stares at her without any expression. "Yes maybe because you were so ungrateful? And what about the train ride? I can bet you had your red week as much as you wined for a seat." Sia blinks several times and Sahir regrets the words as fast as they have left his mouth.

Sias eyes widens when his words sinks in to her system. "My red weak? What are you talking about?" She questions surprised.

"Nothing." Sahir says embarrassed as he also remembers that he had dismissed the thought of her having her week while noticing her white jeans.

Sia furrows her eyebrows. "You mean the train ride to Manchester?" Sia questions astonished and Sahir slightly nods embarrassed while rubbing his neck. "How did you know that I was on my red week?" She gapes at him.

Sahir stares at her. "What? You had your red week? Why were you wearing white if you knew you had it?" He questions her mortified.

Sia narrows her eyes at him. "Oh please, I will wear whatever I want but how did you know that I was on my red week?" Realization hits her and her eyes widens. "Oh my, don't say I had stains?" She says horrified and Sahir finds the situation amusing. "And hey! How come you remember what I was wearing?" She questions him and Sahirs amusement flies out of the window.

He stares at her as if not knowing how to response to that. "I just." He starts and then trails off. "I just found you so annoying that." He trails off again with a swift move of his hand.

"That you checked me out?" She fills in for him baffled.

Sahir shakes his head. "No, not at all. You were never my type." Sahir tries to defend and Sia furrows her eyebrows.

"What does that supposed to mean? You check out every girl who annoys you or girls who aren't your type? Or that I am your type right now?" She rants out her tangled mind perplexed.

Sahir shakes his head. "No!"

"What no?" She questions staring at him expressionless.

"I mean no I don't check girls out." He states with a grimace.

"But you did check me out?" She further pushes.

"No, yes, maybe. I don't know you were annoying." Sahir illogically blabbers and Sia starts to laugh while he turns warm.

"I don't know what to say, that really makes sense." She continues laughing and Sahir chuckles embarrassed.

Sahirs amused but embarrassed gaze sets on a laughing Sia. "How would I ever know that the girl who bugged me the most would end up being my wife?" Sahir suddenly verbalize and Sias laughter slowly dies.

Sia gives a small smile. "How would I ever know that I would be sitting here offering the guy I despise the most warm milk for his insomnia?" The fact that she hates him hits him hard, inhaling a deep breath he finishes his drink.

"The milk is calming Sia but it won't make me fall asleep, you go and take some rest as you have work tomorrow." He walks to the bedside table and takes his phone.

Sia is close behind and snatches his mobile from his hand. Sahir looks at her perplexed. "If you play with your mobile it will obviously get harder for you to sleep." She claims annoyed. "Lay down." She orders him and Sahir opens his mouth to protest.

"You don't understand." He starts but Sia interrupts him.

"Save it! Just lay down." She orders with a hand on her hip and he just sighs shaking his head.

When he isn't moving she takes hold on his arm and drags him to bed. "Sia this is just weird." Sahir states his mind while laying down.

Sia ignores his words with the roll of her eyes. She turns the light off and walks over to her side. She sits down with her back resting on the board and she starts messaging Sahirs temples. Sahir turns stiff under her touch but relaxes as soon as her fingers starts to dance around his temples making him loosen up. "I used to make Soumya fall asleep this way." She voices and Sahir mumbles as a reply while Sia plays with his silky dark hair.

Sia can't help but admire the soft texture of his hair and the lovely smell. After a few minutes Sahir turns around and encircles Sia which makes Sia go stiff. "Sahir?" She nudges him but gains no response which makes her realizes that he has fallen asleep.

Sia smiles seeing him sleep like a innocent child and let her hand run through his hair one last time. Who could tell that this is the same arrogant business tycoon Sahir Khan?
