Dad's on his business tour, which left me all alone in this huge mansion, sometimes I hate scarlet for studying abroad. Thank God I have something to keep my mind busy, my first anniversary. I closed my eyes recollecting the sweet memories of last year while my fingers danced on the ivory keys of the piano.

I was excited and nervous as hell, I wanted to plan a big surprise for Rick, to make our day more special and memorable. I needed a few good pieces of advice for that, and guess what? I have nobody to ask for because I am in a so-called secret relationship. Ugg.. I hate this.. I stopped playing when the dirtiest frown plastered on my face. Just chuck the rules of Rick, I dialed Scarlet's number, a little cheating won't harm, right?

"Hey" Scarlet answered on a first ring, a big smile curved on my face.

"My lovely sis, how are you?" God, I missed her.

"Missing you sis" I could imagine her pretty face as she replied.

"Liar, if you really miss me then why don't you quit your stupid business management course?" I complained childishly, I know this was illogical though.

"I have big dreams, I want to be the biggest entrepreneur just like our dad. I don't live in a stupid fantasized world of dreams, Jen "Unlike you, yeah that's what she meant.

"Of course, you and your big dreams, and there is no space for love. How boring! Act your age Scarly. This is your time to take a chance and explore the feeling of falling in love " this was funny, being an elder sister I should have to lecture her on dos and don'ts, technically on don'ts rather than encouraging her to behave according to her age.

"Spare me from your fastidious love, true love doesn't exist, I find them interesting only in books, not in real life sweetie" I don't know what's her problem with love? I rolled my eyes, thank god she couldn't watch me.

"True love does exist, your heart will give you a sign when you will find the Mr. right, you just need to follow your heart, love. And trust me, feeling of being in love is one of the amazing things." I thought of Rick, how my dull life changed after he entered my life, Scarlet's suspicious voice broke my beautiful moment.

"Jen, are you hiding something from me? You sound hopelessly in love, I can smell it from here." I was astounded by her words.

"Umm..no" the broken words escaped from my mouth quickly in my defense.

"Don't you dare to lie on my face, I know you're hiding something. After mom's death, we promised that we will always remain at each other side." Her words made me feel remorseful for breaking our promise. No, this was wrong, I can't do this to my sister but Rick needed only a few months.

After a good pregnant pause, I answered "Scarly you are imagining the things, I was just encouraging you towards love as I know, you lack in that department" I tried to hide my nervousness in my teasing words.

"I know when you lie, Jen, I don't want you to make any stupid decision. You trust everyone easily." A clear warning reflects in her voice.

"C'mon I am the eldest, and I can judge people as well." I hastily answered, why she thinks I am dumb.

"It seems we both are on the same page now, Are we?" she caught me off guard, I squeezed my eyes in the realisation.

"I will tell you everything at the right time, for now just have faith in me and my choice" finally I admitted to Scarly.

"Why not now?' she impatiently asked.

"Firstly, we are on the phone and secondly​ he asked for some time" I admitted hesitantly.

"So, what we are on the phone? Wait a minute, let's talk on snap chat." She didn't ask for my permission.

"You are not going to leave this, right! Hang on for a minute" eventually, we were on snap chat, I could clearly see her concern in her worried eyes even on the laptop screen. Since childhood she was very protective of me, she didn't trust my choice as she believed I am too sensitive and naive for making big decisions.

"Now, tell me everything in detail," Scarly asked in her commanding tone, she has started interrogating me like FBI.

"Dear sister just wait for a few months or at least until​ you are here." I pleaded to her.

"I can't wait for that long. Who is he? What is he doing & most importantly why he wants you to hide your relationship?" she flooded the questions​ on me.

"You are impossible, you're making me nervous" I laughed at her.

"Don't try to avoid the topic, answer me" There's​ no way

"Scarly, he does not belong to the family of big business tycoons, he is from a well middle-class family, he thinks there is a huge status gap between us. He wants to raise his standard before making an appearance in our family." I was sure the pride reflected in my voice, I respect him for his self-respect and modesty.

"He sounds sincere but at least you can share his details with me, I am your sister." I know, she has all the right to know about the person whom her sister dates, though I can't help it. I didn't want to break my promise.

"I asked him, yet he wants to introduce him by himself with a grand entry" I smiled thinking of his words, he looked promising.

She stayed quiet, lost in her thoughts. Later giving me a warning look she said "Jen be careful. I don't know much about love but when someone is tight-lipped about their love life, it means they have something​ to hide. I don't want you to get hurt, Jen. Please instigate the real reason and investigate about him. I know you trust him but for me think about it, please."

"You mean to say he is not trustworthy because he requested some time from me. C'mon, don't be so judgmental. I know him for a long. If you think he is greedy about our money then that's not the case, otherwise, he would have asked me for it or would have requested me for some business favors knowing our dad's position in the business world. But he never did." I defended him, my heart not ready to listen to anything against him, it behaved too loyal to him.

"I am not telling he is behind our money, maybe he truly loves you but I'm still skeptical about him because I am afraid you don't know anything about his background, his whereabouts, his family & his business. Do you?" She raised her voice exasperatedly, her eyes searching for an answer in my eyes. The rush of nervousness hit me when she asked those important questions as her suspension was right. I never asked him all those questions, he shares​ a few things about his mom but I never met her. And about his whereabouts, I had no clue as each time we met out of the city, my heart thump.

"This is the reason I am worried about you. I still cannot believe you hid such an important thing from me this​ long" she showed her disappointment, I felt guilty​.

"I met him a year ago. We do share the beautiful connection, it's not his fault that I am not aware of the things I should know. I never asked him to take me to his home or introduce me to his family. But you are right, I should know all these things when I am thinking about marriage." I finally realized this.

"Great! At least you come to your senses, I need all the details about him at my next video chat, will be waiting​ desperately for your next call. I will be there very soon, be ready for my revenge." She wanted to sound mean, though her mischievous eyes couldn't hide her smile.

" I am sorry Sis, Come soon." I gave her my best puppy look and blow kisses on the screen which earned me her beautiful laugh.

"Bye take care" she waved her hand.

"You too" line got disconnected. This conversation made me rethink my relationship with Rick. And apparently, I know what to do for our Anniversary.Hello Lovelies!!

Scarlet seems logical person. She gave a right advice to her sister. It would​ be interesting to see how Jen will react on her suggestion 😉😉
