Knowing the truth

Jungkook was in a dilemma right now. He paced back and forth outside Sarang's office. He glanced at the wooden signboard on the wall beside the opaque glass door with the name "CEO Kim Sarang" written in beautiful cursive writing.

He was contemplating if he should go inside and get answers to all his questions or not. He chewed his fingernails as he continued to walk while staring at the door.

Jimin was sitting on a bench placed outside the office as he looked at Jungkook with an I'm-so-done-with-him face.

He was trying to make him understand that they should leave, but Jungkook was acting like a stubborn brat right now. Hence, he let him be.

Within five minutes, Namjoon was passing through there. He noticed Jungkook walking outside Sarang's office with a tense face. He approached him with a chuckle.

"Fancy seeing you here, Mister Jeon," Namjoon spoke amusingly with a wide smile.

Jungkook couldn't help but blush. He had no idea why he was blushing like a high-school girl, but he didn't even mind showing his emotions. Lately, he had been doing bizarre things anyway.

"Drop the formalities, hyung. You can call me Jungkook." He spoke politely with a smile. Namjoon nodded and glanced at the door and Jungkook simultaneously.

"So, do you want to see her?" Namjoon inquired, wiggling his brows playfully. Jungkook nodded and then looked down with a sigh. He was feeling guilty for behaving like that with Ara. "Well, she must have gone home," Namjoon informed.

"Oh, okay then! We shall take a leave." Jungkook spoke with a heavy heart, signaling Jimin to stand up and take leave with him. The two bowed before turning around.

"Ummm... If you want to know anything about her, I can let you know. I'm her cousin after all."

Again, Jungkook was left shocked by the sudden confession. How wrong had he taken Ara?! He was judging the girl because of one heartbreak in the past. He could have talked with her to clear everything up, but sadly he got his heart broken, as well as Ara's.

"Sure!" Jungkook said meekly, following Namjoon to his office with Jimin following them closely.

Once they took a seat inside, he noticed an office desk name plate where it was written PA Kim Namjoon. His eyes were glued on it for a bit longer than he expected. "Oh, right! You must be confused. I was interim CEO because Mister Kim couldn't decide who he should make the next CEO. And that was the reason why I was avoiding you at those parties all these months. I was advised to not schedule meetings or take up new projects." Now it made sense why Namjoon avoided Jimin and him all this time.

Jungkook nodded lightly and then stared at Namjoon with hopeful eyes as if he was waiting to listen to Ara's story. Why did she take up that job and how did she become Sarang? Namjoon saw through his curious gaze, and so he decided to share his cousin's story without beating around the bush.

Namjoon wasn't in a place to reveal all this to Jungkook. But he had to do this, because he could see the both of them struggling, and that too because of the misunderstandings.

(Note: The below story in italics is in Namjoon's POV, just so you all don't get confused.)

Mister Kim, who is my uncle, had married my aunt while he was struggling with his new business. They loved each other a lot and they were ready to sacrifice anything and everything for each other. That was the reason why my aunt never shared her passion for acting. She let go of her dreams since my uncle needed her support at that time.

After Taehyung was born, uncle's business began growing nicely. He didn't have to struggle after that. And since my aunt's responsibilities had reduced, she had developed a habit of sharing everything with little Taehyung. He hardly understood anything at that time, but he would listen to everything intently his mother would share.

When Taehyung was two-years-old, my aunt noticed him throwing tantrums often. And once he would get something that he wanted, his expression would change completely. He wasn't like a normal kid of his age, who would watch cartoons. Instead, he enjoyed watching movies since the time he was small. And that made my aunt happy. It made her feel that if she couldn't fulfill her dream of becoming an actor, her son would do that. Because he would act all the time and no one would see through him. He was a great actor.

When Taehyung was five-years-old, my uncle had set up this company pretty well and he was successful by then. His business flourished and everyone wanted to work with him. When he learned about my aunt's second pregnancy, he was content. My aunt didn't want another child, but my uncle continued to pester her and so she decided to not abort and give birth to the second child. When they got to know that it was a baby girl, they were really happy. Their family was going to be complete in the future. They had already decided to name her "Sarang" because they imagined the baby to bring love and happiness into their lives.

Taehyung became really protective of his mother and baby sister that was growing in his mother's womb. Since the time he began feeling his sister in his mother's tummy, he had promised to take care of her and shower her with love.

However, there were complications while giving birth to Sarang and the doctor couldn't save my aunt.

The day when Sarang was born, was the worst day for my uncle. He was shattered to learn that because of his stubbornness, he lost his wife. And so, he couldn't bring himself to accept Sarang. He never hated her or ill-treated her. But he couldn't love her either. All this made Taehyung really protective of her.

Taehyung grew up with the same dream as my aunt. But he never revealed to his father that he wanted to pursue acting. His father continued to ask him to get trained under him before he was made the next CEO. But Taehyung continued to ask for more time.

When Taehyung was sixteen, he became a model. He struggled a lot but he wanted to take out his sister from their father's house. He wanted to give her a better life, enroll her in the best architecture university and make his father accept Sarang.

However, since the time Sarang left her father's house, she took up her mother's name "Kang Ara." She felt burdened to keep the name that her father gave her, especially when he never accepted her as his daughter. And since then her new journey began as Ara.

She took up this "Rental girlfriend" job so that she could stay connected with the business circle and save money for her brother. She wanted to help him achieve his dreams too, but she never let Taehyung know of this reason. I had helped her in getting this job because my wife was once my "Rental girlfriend" too and I fell in love with her. So I developed good relations with the head of that agency.

Jin, the head, decided to help us when I told him the whole story about Sarang. She did this job wholeheartedly till the time Taehyung convinced his father.

When you had taken her on the first private date, at that time my uncle and Taehyung had heard her saying that she was an orphan. It broke Tae's heart. He decided to fight for her and within the next two months, he could convince his father. He agreed to transfer the responsibility of his company to his "deserving daughter" and let Taehyung pursue acting, just like his wife wanted.

One more thing, she didn't leave the job because her father accepted her. She decided to leave the job when she noticed that she had fallen in love with you. And that was against the rule. On that day when you guys fought, she paid Jin and left the job right away. And then she took her original name back, taking over the company.

When Namjoon finished sharing Sarang's whole story, he noticed Jungkook crying. Tears continued to flow through his eyes.

Jungkook couldn't believe the girl had to face so much, and still, he called her names and ill-treated her. He loved her, and so he should have heard her side of the story and supported her. But he only cared about his feelings, hurting the girl in the process.

Jimin was sad as well when he got to learn about the whole truth. He felt bad to judge her as Jungkook did. He was an empathetic person, but he still believed in Jungkook and ended up judging Sarang. He quickly hugged Jungkook, patting his back gently because his heart broke to see the younger one crying.

Namjoon couldn't help but question, "I have a question though. How could you conclude that Tae and Sarang were dating? Why would you even feel so?"

Jungkook was hiccupping by now as he was breathing heavily because of crying too much. He couldn't even speak a word. Hence, Jimin decided to answer on behalf of the younger.

"Well, the first time Jungkook rented her for Mister Choi's party, he noticed her absence for almost thirty minutes. When he went to search for her, he noticed the two of them standing outside a room and they were holding hands. And then the next time he rented her to take her to the club. When we went to drop her off, she had forgotten her purse in the car and so Jungkook decided to give that. At that time, he saw her kissing Taehyung. "

"But how could they kiss? Did you see them kissing? Like... lip kiss? Or smooching?" Namjoon questioned back immediately; his gaze fixed on Jungkook.

Jungkook shook his head. "I... Her b-back w-was face- facing me. So... I a-assumed." He shuttered between his sniffles as he cried his eyes and his nose had turned red by now.

"Silly man! You could have asked her. The two of them love each other a lot. They even share a bed when either of them has a bad day. It is common between siblings, silly. That was the reason why she asked Tae to make a coffee that morning because that was their ritual every morning. Taehyung would wake her up lovingly and would hug her till she wouldn't feel sleepy and then he would give her coffee in the bed so she could start her day happily. They grew up like that and let me tell you, Sarang was brought up just by Taehyung. So, he tried to give her the love of both parents." Namjoon spoke with a weak smile and it made Jungkook feel really pathetic.

Namjoon sighed and walked over to the crying male, giving him a glass of water.

Once his cries died down, Jungkook asked, "Will she forgive me? I can do anything that she wants. But I want her back, I really love her! Please help me get her back. I'll love her forever. Please, hyung!"

Namjoon felt so bad when he noticed Jungkook pleading with teary eyes. He held Namjoon's hands in a tight grip as if he was trying to convince him. He could see remorse in his teary-doe eyes.

Namjoon quickly drew the vulnerable male into his embrace. "She will! She loves you too! She is just hurt. Give her some time and try to convince her with your actions. She is a kind girl. I'm sure she will forgive you."

Jungkook closed his eyes in Namjoon's embrace as he felt hopeful with those words. He would ask for her forgiveness and would bring her back into his life.

He loved her and he was ready to prove his love with everything he had. He promised himself to be patient with her and win her heart again. He won't repeat his mistakes again.

[Moral: I felt so sad for Jungkook. He might have done something bad, but he was hurt as well. We can't just blame him for everything.

We believe in what we see, and each one of us does that. So, he did that only. It is said that "once you are betrayed, you start being cautious." And there is nothing wrong with being cautious.

Please don't hate Jungkook! Put yourself in his shoes and you all will feel like you would have done the same if you were in his place. However, the lesson we learn from this is to let go of your insecurities and not doubt someone all the time. You might lose good people from your life because of your insecurities. So learn to let go of your insecurities and move on from your past traumas, to lead a better life, a better future.]
