The young girl was anxious every day, anticipating when Wooyoung was going to ask her out again. Now, she was ready. She always smiled brightly when he approached her, but he acted like that night on his birthday didn't exist. It didn't seem like he would ask her out soon as the weather turned colder. Her heart started sinking and whenever she saw him, she tried to not let her hopes get too high. But that's when he attacked.

It was the 6th of October and Yoojin was working at the café on a quiet Sunday, taking people's orders at the register. Luckily, she had an early shift and would finish at 3pm. She had about 20 minutes left. Just when it seemed like it couldn't get any more boring, Wooyoung waltzed into the nearly empty café wearing their blue 'FML' hoodie and black pants.

He was also carrying a bouquet of pure white camellias and a box of chocolates. Yoojin's eyes widened. But the boy just smiled at her as he came to the counter.

"What are you doing here?" Yoojin was flabbergasted but blushing, nonetheless.

Wooyoung grinned. "You once complained that this time on Sundays were always the most boring because it was too quiet. So, I thought I'd spice it up for you."

"Did you just pick a random date?"

"Well, the 6th reminded me of you."

And now, it was a random date that he made special for them – for their 2.0 anniversary.

"Are those for me?" she glanced down at the flowers.

Wooyoung nodded, pretending that there was no one else here. "Because you are my flower."

The only four customers in the café turned to watch excitedly. Everyone could feel the speech coming. Yoojin didn't completely like the attention. The main reason why she enjoyed these kinds of things was that Wooyoung hated speaking in public, so it showed how much he really liked her and as a bonus, it was funny to watch.

"We've always had a special connection and we were always there for each other. When I just needed someone by my side, you were there. And when we broke up, it felt like half of me was gone. That made me focus on the half of me that I had. And so I realised that I'm a horrible person. But you make me want to be a better person. I can't live without you."

Behind the counter, Yoojin couldn't stop the grin on her face. It felt like she was dreaming. Though the customers not hiding their stares reminded her that it was real. That Wooyoung cared for her as much as she cared for him.

Wooyoung took a deep breath and continued. "So, these past few months, I learnt a lot. I learnt to put us first instead of violence because fighting isn't always the answer, and doing the right thing is always the right thing."

"And?" Yoojin joked.

"And that FML stands for 'Fuck My Life' and you're my life so I should fuck –"

"Don't," Yoojin blurted loudly with wide eyes before lowering her voice. "you dare finish that sentence."

She wanted to fan her face, but her hands didn't know how to move. Her heart was on another level.

Then, Yoojin burst into laughter from how serious Wooyoung was. Her cheek muscles were sore. She eventually covered her mouth and stopped laughing. The boy just grinned at her with a glint in his eye.

"Jeon Yoojin, will you go out with me again?" Wooyoung finally asked the question.

Yoojin sucked in a breath. All the other people in the café gushed about how romantic this was, chanting for her to accept him. And he was proud that he managed to stun her in public by just speaking his thoughts.

"Yes," Yoojin replied, already knowing her answer. "You've shown me how much you've changed, and I trust you. I can't stop my feelings anymore; I love you."

At a time like this, they would probably kiss each other. It sounded like the perfect full stop to the sweet event but sadly, the thick café counter stood in their way.

"I'll just wait for you to finish your shift," Wooyoung whispered, taking a seat nearby.

Yoojin nodded with a giggle and went back to work, which was extremely boring since no one else entered. So, she did a lot of cleaning. As she wiped the bench, she met Wooyoung's eyes. He smiled, slightly waving at her with the bouquet. Her heart fluttered and she probably cleaned that same spot for more than five minutes.

When her shift finally ended, she threw off her apron and carried a tray of food to her waiting boyfriend. She set the berry tart and grape ade in front of her seat and placed the lemon meringue tart and mint chocolate frappe at Wooyoung's spot. Then, she finally enveloped him in a big hug, which he reciprocated warmly. He passed her the bouquet of white flowers, and she breathed in the fresh scent. They were absolutely beautiful, and she felt as if she was holding the Number 1 Art trophy.

"You know, I still can't believe you're wearing the hoodie," Yoojin commented.

"Why? It's comfortable," Wooyoung shrugged before whispering, "And it's our couple item."

He asked her if she wore it out. Twirling her hair, Yoojin pretended to be invested in her tart. Wooyoung cleared his throat expectedly.

"Well, I have worn it at home," Yoojin admitted. "But I haven't worn it outside yet. Next time I go out, I promise I'll wear it."

She couldn't help it; she was a sappy romantic and the hoodie just felt like them but they weren't a 'them' half an hour ago or so.

As they shared the box of chocolates and other treats all together, they chatted about recent and upcoming things. Most noticeably, the final exams for the year were steadily approaching and then the holidays would relieve them after. Their first year of high school was nearly over.

"My teacher at the art academy encouraged me to apply for Seoul Art School, so I did. I passed the first round, which is apparently hard to pass, and now I'm just waiting for the second round," Yoojin told Wooyoung.

Her voice was cautious, and she wasn't smiling.

"That's great news," her boyfriend congratulated her. "You should be so proud of yourself. Why aren't you happier?"

Yoojin bit her lip. "Because then I'll be at a different school next year and I won't see you as much."

"That's not going to change anything. We didn't even know if we would go to the same high school or not, but we were lucky that we did. This is going to be such an amazing opportunity if you go. You'll make so many friends, learn from cool people and get more inspiration which you love."

She smiled softly, taking a sip of his frappe. Wooyoung was always very persuasive, and she believed him.

It was good that Wooyoung reassured her because a week later when she passed the second round, she was officially accepted into Seoul Art School and would be attending there next year. While she was nervous, she was very thrilled. Taehwan was even excited for her even though he didn't apply. Their friendship even managed to climb back to steady ground, except for skinship that was too touchy.

The weeks were more entertaining, and the couple told Youngbin and Huiyeon that they were back together. Youngbin took it alright, if you count 'threatening to chop off Wooyoung's thing if he hurt Yoojin' alright. Huiyeon kept begging Yoojin to go on a double date together, but she refused. It would be too weird; like going on a date with your dad. Gross.

Everyone studied diligently for the finals and were in full concentration mode. When they were over, celebrations were in the air. Yoojin and her brother were off to Youngbin's usual club with Wooyoung, Huiyeon and Eunhye. She was happy that she got to catch up with Eunhye – giving her faith that she'll still be close with all her friends next year when she's at a different school.

The club was more crowded than usual since it was the end of the year, making it hotter and louder. While they kept to their usual spot on the couches, the flashing lights and blaring music was still quite intense.

"Yoojin, hi. It's been a while," someone said as they sat opposite the girl.

It was Youngyi, who looked the same as she did months ago. Her pitch-black hair dropped to her shoulders, and she still had that perfectly straight fringe. Yoojin smiled back at her, immediately giving her a hug before sitting back down.

"Youngyi!" Yoojin exclaimed. "I missed you so much! How dare you ghost me for so long."

The other girl's lip quivered, glad that Yoojin wasn't furious with her. At the same time, Seokdae entered and greeted the guys. Yoojin had seen him occasionally but not as often as usual.

"I'm sorry," Youngyi said. "I just felt responsible for what happened to Sooho."

"Why? Don't be sorry; it's not your fault."

"It was. That's what Beomseok said. Everything was fine until I came, and I just didn't fit in with him. I ruined their friendship."

"I became friends with them practically at the same time as you. Then it's my fault too. But in the end, we shouldn't be negative and blame anyone. Beomseok had inferiority issues and just wanted to feel included. He didn't handle things the way he should've but we shouldn't blame him because he was struggling with life too," Yoojin comforted the other girl.

Youngyi felt a bit better.

"Come on, it was months ago. It's no good to dwell on the past. We live in the present with people who matter," Yoojin instructed lightly. "So I want you to still be my friend."

Youngyi nodded and lifted her glass of vodka. "Cheers to that."

"Promise me you won't avoid me again."

"I promise."

"Cheers to that," Yoojin grinned as she lifted her glass.

They both took a sip, Yoojin cringing at the aftertaste of her vodka sunrise. The other two girls next to them shared a drink while they talked amongst themselves and Huiyeon laughed in a drunken state.

"So, are you dating Seokdae yet?" Yoojin asked Youngyi with a wiggle of her thick eyebrows.

Youngyi choked. "What, what about you and Wooyoung?"

"Hey, no changing the subject."

Youngyi sighed but then smiled, glancing over at the big boy. Seokdae's hair was tied in a ponytail, and he was chuckling as he talked with the guys on the other couch.

"Kind of," Youngyi admitted. "It's not official yet but we've kissed and talked about it. Now, what about you?"

"Yeah, Wooyoung and I got back together a few weeks ago," Yoojin shared with a blush.

"Congratulations."

Then Youngyi went off to dance and Seokdae followed her. The other two boys came and sat with the girls. Wooyoung squished next to Yoojin, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. Huiyeon kissed Youngbin on the cheek and Eunhye pretended to vomit.

"I feel like such a fifth wheel," Eunhye sulked.

Huiyeon stuck her tongue out at her, but then gestured to the club. "Any hot guys here? I'll be your wing woman."

They looked out to the sea of men and women. Eunhye shuddered at all the tipsy dancers.

"No thanks."

"Then let's just go and dance. Just us girls."

Huiyeon pulled them up and strutted over to the dancing mass. Singing to the song, they all let loose and moved to the beat while the boys watched from their seats. Huiyeon's wavy hair flew everywhere, and she shimmied close to Eunhye, who sucked in a breath and turned red from their proximity.

The night was endless. Everyone was in holiday spirits as it got closer to the end of the year.
