chapter one

"alpha's" my fathers delta yelled panting heavily the stench of his fear filled the room

"what is it" I found myself asking quickly and he spoke in a trembling voice

"r-rouges have breached our boarders and surrounded our lands"

I bearly saw my father move before he was across the room I followed close on his heels until he turned back to growl at me

"you'll stay here" my wolf revolted there was no way we were leaving him to face this alone and with my twin brother in his mate lands i was his only child here

"no" I said and he growled even lower

"shane" his tone was warning and low my wolf scratched at the surface and it showed in my eyes, he always treated me like glass, all because i was the runt of the litter

born first but something went wrong

"we don't have time for this" his delta growled out snapping us out of our trance my father sighed continuing his walking journey

"just don't do anything stupid" he grumbled "and stay by me"

it was an eerily quiet night as we walked in human form towards the boarder an army of warriors following after us some shifted some human like us but we didn't even make it towards the boarder before the first set of red eyes locked onto us

they pushed through the trees and my father pushed me back the alpha in me growled wanting to stand next to him by my wolf submitted and I sighed

"at least act strong"i told him and he whimpered

"but we should listen to the one in power" my wolf fin whined

I blocked him out as more wolves began showing themselves all shifted unlike us

bar one

a she wolf stepped forwards and she said nothing silently looking us all over I felt a tugging sensation in my chest as her eyes danced over everyone finally resting on me

my pack growled at her pack who didn't growl back she stood there staring at me and I stared back her scent filled the air around me and I stepped forwards

"shane" my father said stopping his growls I ignored him and let my wolf lead

"alpha?" The man next to the women who I now know to be the alpha asked she ignored him also

the growls around us began to die down and I moved forwards and watched as she took careful steps towards me eyeing me curiously

"shane get back over here" my father growled in his alpha tone, and for the first time we ignored our superior
