When I woke up in the morning, I was so tired that I fell back asleep. I woke up to my mom shaking me.

“Huh?-” I said, sitting up, and rubbing my eyes.

“Get up, you’re gonna be late.”

I looked at my phone and started freaking out.

“SHIT-”

I got dressed in my f/o and ate my f/f with just enough time to get my stuff ready and be out of the door on time.

I met Sal, Riley, and Larry, in the lobby. But there was a brown-haired girl and a red-haired boy with them. I walked over.

"O-Oh- Hello-" I said, waving.

They waved back. Riley introduced the red-haired boy and the brown-haired girl as Ash and Todd. I introduced myself and thought they were pretty nice, but I was getting a weird look from Ash. It seemed like she didn't like me too much. I didn't know why but decided to brush it off as nothing. Then we headed off to school.

On the way, Sal grabbed my hand and snickered.

"Watch this." He whispered, turning around "HEY LOVEBIRDS! HURRY UP!"

We looked back to see Larry blushing and Riley flustered.

"NOT COOL BRO!" Larry yelled at us, "YOU KNOW WE'RE JUST FRIENDS."

"SURE~" He burst out laughing.

I giggled quietly, "Oof. Friend zoned-"

I saw Ash start walking faster like she was in a hurry to get ahead of us or something. Riley had started running up to us, her face still flushed.

"Ooh!~" I laughed, but then I saw her expression grow serious, "I'm dead-"

I started running, Riley chasing after me.

"I'm sorry- I'm sorry- I'm sorry- PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!"

Riley looked like she was contemplating her decision.

"Fine- I won't kill you." She glared at me, "But I'm killing you next time."

I breathed a sigh of relief and decided I'd ask Riley about the feeling I had.

"Hey, Riley?"

"Yeah?"

"I uh- I was wondering...Did something happen at the apartments you haven't told me about?"

"Oh- Uh... N-No of course not! What makes you think something happened?" She asked in a nervous, and shaky tone. I knew she was hiding something.

"Well, I have this unsettling feeling, and you're bad at lying, I know something happened." I gave her a seriously look, and she gave me a what look.

"What are you not telling me?"

"There were murders at the apartments.." She looked at the ground as we continued walking, and the school came into view.

"What-"

"One of the tenants on the fourth floor was murdered by another tenant named Charlie. Then the Holmes family, who lived on the fifth floor was murdered in the apartments too. So the apartments are most likely haunted."

"I see."

"Yeah…" She shook her head sadly.

"Oh look! The school!" I pointed at the large-ish building in front of us, "We're here!"

We waited for the others to catch up with us, while we were waiting I listened to Riley rambling on about Larry.

'I so ship them' I thought to myself, smirking.

Riley was practically daydreaming about Larry when the others finally caught up with us. Riley hadn't noticed, and she was still rambling when Larry finally arrived. Todd, Sal, and I all made Lenny Faces as Larry blushed, and Riley snapped back to reality. She blushed when she realized Larry was there.

"U-Uhm- How much of that did you hear..?" She asked, in the same nervous tone, except she was speaking in a slightly higher pitch, you know, the pitch people speak in when they're trying to cover something up?

Yeah, she was speaking in that sort of tone.

"Enough," Larry replied sternly, before walking passed her and into the school.

Poor Riley looked so defeated, and she ran off.

I ran after her, but she was fast.

"Riley! Wait!"

I managed to finally catch up with her in the bathroom.

"Riley.."

"Stupid…he probably thinks you're weird now..how could you be so stupid!? You ruined any fucking chance you had with him!"

I listened to Riley mumbling, and quietly scolding herself.

"Riley..come on…we have to get to class…"

"Go away…."

I'd finally managed to drag Riley out of the bathroom and to class. And when we went to meet Sal and the others before lunch, we saw Sal and a familiar-looking it was seemed to be giving Sal a hard time.

"HEY, YOU! LEAVE SAL ALONE!"

"Oh yeah?! And what are you gon-" The kid turned around, his eyes widened, "Y-Y/N!?"

"Wait- TRAVIS?!" I ran up to him and hugged him.

"Oh my God!! Y/N!!" He was too stunned to do anything.

"Sorry to ruin the moment, but, how do you know each other?" Sal asleep both of us, very confused.

"Travis is my older brother! Our parents got divorced when we were young, our dad took Travis, and moved away, while I stayed with my mom."

"So let me get this straight- YOU AND TRAVIS ARE SIBLINGS?!" Riley exclaimed.

"One, yes. Two, when did you get here?!"

"I JUST got here!"

"So- uh- you guys are siblings- um-" Sal looked at the floor embarrassed, "T-That's nice, I-I guess…"

"Travis. You better be nice to Sal and my friends."

"Fine," Travis replied in a sarcastic tone, rolling his eyes.

I smiled, and gave him one more hug, then started walking over to Sal.

"Byeeeeeeeeeeeeee-"

"Wait- where are you going?"

"Lunch, duh-"

"Oh yeah-"

I laugh, and head into the cafeteria, with Sal, and Riley. I went to sit down because my mom had packed my lunch today. Sal, Riley, Ash, Todd, Larry, and a kid with green hair who I hadn't met before sat down. Whatever was on their plates looked inedible, and possibly poisoned, or passed expiration. I'm so lucky I hadn't started eating yet because I'd almost thrown up.

"Mm. Meatloaf." The kid with the green hair said, taking a HUGE bite.

I gagged at the sight and immediately looked away from the foul sight. I wondered how anyone could eat that.

Riley laughed, "Gross, right? Also, meet Chug. The kid with an iron stomach."

"I can tell-" I said, trying to take my mind off of what I had just witnessed.

After lunch, the day went by pretty quickly. School ended, and we hung out back at the apartments, then headed back to our apartments when our parents told us it was time for us to head back. I decided to ask my mom about Travis while we were eating dinner.

"Hey-" I took a drink of my f/d, "Mom, I saw Travis at school today."

My mom just laughed, "Oh hubby, you're so funny! You know your father and your brother died in a plane crash the next day. Remember? No one on the plane survived."

"Haha." I said sarcastically, "Very funny Mom. You know I know that's a made-up story trying to cover up the fact you're still heartbroken that Dad left you for another woman."

My mom sighed, "Well..yes. But your father had left the country from what I know, there is no way you saw Travis at your school, Sweetie."

"I'm telling you!! I actually did!"

"Don't raise your voice at me, young lady. Go to your room."

I wanted to protest, but didn't, knowing if I retaliated I'd get in more trouble than I already was, in the first place.

I sighed, deciding to go to sleep. I was exhausted from earlier, running around in PE. So I changed, and got ready for bed, I went to hug my mom but overheard her talking to someone. I listened in on what she was saying.

"Kenneth, Y/N will be allowed around Travis, but you are not to go near her."

Whoever was on the other line sounded angry.

"She is MY daughter, not YOURS. You lost any parental control over her YEARS ago. You know I can tell the police if you try to even lay a finger on her."

I didn't know who she was talking to, but apparently, they knew me. I decided to just go to bed.

I again had a hard time falling asleep again, I was hearing footsteps, things being moved around, and something bumping into things. It was probably 4 in the morning when I finally fell asleep.
