9th Night: Obsession Isn't Love

~Third person PoV~

Shizuka, in the form of Maria was sitting on a chair, smirking as she saw the events occurring in the classroom.

"Shizuka-sama... I think you overdid it. Serenity was actually scared and angry..." Ichiru stated in a feared voice.

"That is what I want her to feel. Misery. Anger. She deserves every bit of it. That child changed my life."

The vision then changed to Serenity relaxing herself on Kaname's shoulder.

"To think that Serenity actually forgave him. Ridiculous. She is blinded by his love, and he hasn't even told her the truth. The fact that he is the Kuran family's ancestor."

"Shizuka-sama... Out of respect... Even if Kaname-sama told her the truth, I'm sure she wouldn't really care."

"Heh. I guess you are right about that. I'm sure she will find out eventually. However I've made a decision~" Shizuka stated.

"What is it?"

"We are going to Cross Academy as well~" She stated with a resolve.

"Oh... I see." Ichiru stated, looking away,

In the form of Maria, Shizuka turned around and put both of her hands on his cheeks.

"Don't worry. I'm sure that Serenity will be happy to see you! And Zero as well!" She stated cheerfully.

"Zero... I could care less for Zero. If any regret I feel, it's betraying Serenity right in her face..."

"What. Did you have some sort of lingering feelings towards her?" She asked with a hint of curiosity.

"Tch..." He answered, which was a rare reaction that Shizuka would get from him.

Serenity Tsukiyomi warmed the coldness in Ichiru's heart. Ichiru's condition did not allow him to become a vampire hunter, which made him feel like he was Zero's shadow. During their training, despite her loneliness, she stayed by Ichiru's side to keep him company.

"It's okay to care about someone, Ichiru. In the end, you're not the one who's going to be taking action. I will be." She stated with a smirk as she looked out the window with both hands behind her back.

~Serenity Tsukiyomi~

Kaname and I have been sitting in the quiet, moonlit classroom for quite some time. Kaname had his arms wrapped around me as the both of us still sat in the floor against the wall.

This is perfect... This time with just he and I. It's more than perfect for me. I just wish that we can stay like this forever, that we can just run away to some peaceful place where there is no conflict. However... I know that I can't. Because I need to face my uncle and bring that peace to the Sora Empire. As their future Empress, I cannot let them down. Not at this moment.

"Feeling less stressed, Serenity?" Kaname asked in his gentle tone as he tucked a strand of hair behind my ear.

"Yes. Thank you, Kaname." I answered with a smile.

"There is still some class time left. Would you like to go back to class?" Kaname asked.

"Why don't we skip class for the rest of the evening and go for a walk around the academy?" I asked with a smirk.

Kaname stood up and held out his hand. "Of course. Takamiya's lectures are boring anyways." he stated.

I took his hand and stood up, brushing away any dust.

As we walked out from the classroom, It seems like Kaname remembered something.

"Ah, yes... Serenity?"

"What is it?"

"Tomorrow in the morning, we have to teach a French class.. It's such a pain... They don't even listen to the lectures... They do nothing but gawk at us and ask us personal questions. Yuuki and Kiryu have to tell them to ask questions related to the topic. The Headmaster believes that this is another step to coexistence." Kaname stated in an annoyed tone.

"I see... What a pain..." I answered.

"But... I had already talked with the Headmaster. I made sure that we'd be together." He reassured me with a smile.

I giggled. "Of course you would."

"That way, we won't get too much attention from the Day Class students, plus I get to be with you. It's basically killing two birds with one stone."

"Oh you..." I said with a giggle, holding his arm tightly. "But we still will get attention since many people are big fans of ours..."

"They will ask us questions one way or another. However, we can just challenge them. They can ask us questions in French and we'll just answer them in Japanese. That way, they'll learn and have their questions answered."

"Hehe, nice!" I answered.

As Kaname and I made our way out from the building, a familiar voice called out to us.

"Kuran, Serenity. Aren't you two supposed to be in class right now?"

I turned around and the source of the voice was Zero with Yuuki by his side.

"Zero's right... You two aren't supposed to be walking around at this time. You need to be in class..." Yuuki stated nervously.

Kaname put his hand on my shoulder. "Serenity was not feeling well, so we are going back to the Moon Dorms. I put Ichijo in charge of the Night Class."

"Not feeling well? You okay, Serenity?" Zero asked worriedly.

"I'm okay. I think I just need a bit of rest and I'll be as good as new." I reassured him.

Zero put his hand on my head and fluffed my hair. "Don't stress yourself too much, alright? You'll worry me." He stated with a genuine smile.

"Don't worry, I'll be-"

"Serenity!" Another voice called out.

When I turned around, it was Kaito who was coming up to us.

"Are you alright? You worried me back there, I looked everywhere for you!" He asked worriedly.

I smiled. Kaito's always worrying about me... He's always been that way since we were kids. Such an overprotective man.

"Aren't you supposed to be with the class?" I asked with a laugh.

"Yagari took over. I was far too worried for you." He said, looking away with a slight blush on his face.

"Aw, how sweet."

"Takamiya..." Kaname growled.

Hehe, here comes Kaname's jealousy..

"Calm down, Kuran. I was just worried for her, that's all." He stated.

"I'm okay. It was just a...vision that I had."

"Of what?" He asked.

I don't want Zero to know that I'm having visions of that woman.... But if this means her return, then I think he has the right to know...

"Shizuka Hio...." I whispered as my bangs covered my eyes.

It seemed that Zero had froze for a second.

"Zero, are you alright?" Yuuki asked worriedly.

"I just think you had the right to know..."

For some reason, Kaname took my hand and held it tighter than usual.

Zero stayed silent and turned around.

"Thanks for telling me, Serenity... Now I can be truly prepared to kill that woman when the time comes..." He mumbled, walking away to the Sun Dorms with Yuuki in tow.

"Shizuka Hio?! I thought she was imprisoned!"

"Unfortunately, some lowlife decided to free her, and from there on attacked the Kiryu household. If it wasn't for that person, then Zero's family would still be alive right now..." I stated.

"Serenity, we should get back." Kaname stated.

His bangs cast a shadow over his eyes. Is he alright? He was okay like two seconds ago.

"I'll see you around, Kaito!"  I said, waving my hand.

"Take care, Serenity!" He called out.

I smiled at him and then looked up at Kaname, who seemed to be in his own mind since he was quiet as we were walking back to the Moon Dormitory.

"Kaname, are you alright?" I asked.

He looked at me and smiled.

"I'm fine." He answered.

"Looking at you, I don't know about that." I stated.

"Serenity..."

"Serenity-denka, Kaname-sama! There you both are!"

The both of us turned around, seeing Kimura approach us with the Headmaster behind him.

"There you are, Serenity-chan, Kaname-kun...." The Headmaster said, catching his breath.

"Kimura! What brings you here?" I asked curiously.

"Sorry for my sudden appearance, Princess, but your father told me to give you this letter as soon as possible. It is addressed to both you and Kaname-sama."

"Thank you, Kimura. We'll read it when we have the time. Want to stay for a cup of tea?" I asked.

"Oh, no. It is fine Serenity-denka. I must get back to the Sora Empire to make preparations. Thank you for your invitation." He said with a bow, turning around making his departure.

I looked at the letter with curiosity.

It had the golden stamp of the Tsukiyomi family, which was the sakura flower.

This just has to be something important if it has the royal insignia...

We made our way to the fountain and sat ourselves down side by side in the peaceful evening. I opened the letter and read out its contents.

To my daughter Serenity and son-in-law Kaname...

The time has arrived and the both of you must make a decision whether to remain married or not. The people of the Sora Empire have the right to know who will succeed Sakura and I in the coming years. Therefore, I would like you both to come to the Sora Empire tomorrow evening to tell me your decision. If you are to remain married, then I need the both of you to remain here to make a speech to the people.

Sincerely,

Eiji Tsukiyomi

"It seems that the citizens are growing impatient..." I stated.

"It seems so... We have to give them our answer. It's only natural." Kaname answered.

I smiled. "Yeah. We will tell everyone that you and I are to become the successors to the Sora Empire, and that way they will have that peace of mind, and not worry about the future of the Sora Empire."

I sighed.

"What is it, Serenity? Is something worrying you?"

~play the song~

I looked up to the stars in the sky.

"Ever since I was young, everyone was looking forward for me to take the throne of the Sora Empire. I don't know if it's because of my power, or whatnot. Sometimes I even have second thoughts if I should even become Empress..."

"Why is that?" He asked.

"Because we have a power that we need to learn to control. It involves us having to control our emotions when we want to access it. However for me it's an entirely different story." I stated as the wind blew my hair to the side.

A power that I never, ever want to use for as long as I live....

"What is that power?"

"...Astral projection. A power that you must put away all your emotions in order to be able to control it. It is a very dangerous power and I, unfortunately am unable to access it due to my inexperience. It grants us Royal Purebloods divine power. It changes the color of our hair to a glowing red, while our eyes glow golden."

"Why do you say you have inexperience?"

My hands formed into fists as I made sure they didn't stop trembling.

"I cannot control my emotions properly. Sounds ridiculous, huh...."

"You cannot? How is that even possible?"

"Despite our high position in vampire society, many think it's easy for us to just shield our emotions and access it like it's nothing. However, during those four years I was in Sora Castle, something happened that almost brought forth its destruction."

Kaname's eyes widened.

"What happened?" He asked, his curious eyes looking right into mine.

I sighed. "With that power, I almost destroyed the Sora Empire due to myself being unable to control them. A ritual had to be done to calm my powers down... My uncle Kei, my mother, my father, and my grandmother Reina had to use their lightning powers in order to turn me back into my usual form. It was quite a painful process and I almost killed everyone. If it weren't for the four of them, the Empire would be in ruins...."

"How... How did this even happen...? Serenity, were you...?"

"...Shizuka was imprisoned. How the hell did she manage to escape?! Who was the bastard that freed her from her prison?! If it wasn't for them, then nothing would have happened to Zero and his younger twin brother! His family would still be alive and Zero would be happily living as a human being!"

Kaname looked down, and for some reason, he had a guilty look on his face.

I suspiciously looked at him.

"Kaname... Do you know who did this?"

He looked at me.

"No, I do not." He said confidently.

But for a second, he looked somewhat....guilty. Maybe it is just a part of my imagination and I am overthinking things.... I once thought Hina was our enemy but it turned out that she is Kaname and I's daughter in the future. She came to help out to make sure nothing changes the future where she exists in...

"I wonder... Who could have been that monster that warped Zero's life completely... Because I swear, I will be responsible for taking that person's life..."

"Serenity, you would go that fa-"

"Yes, I would. Being with the Kiryu family for a time showed me the warmth of a happy family. My parents...were always busy with royal duties in the castle... My friends... were in their respective kingdoms. And you... you were with Yuuki at the time. You believed that I was dead... I had no one after having to leave the Kiryu residence. But being with Mr. and Mrs. Kiryu, Zero, Ichiru, and Kaito showed me the warmth of a family. It's something that I haven't felt in such a long time... That person that freed Shizuka... ruined the life of a happy family and the future it could have had."

"Yes... They could have had a happy future. I'm sure that person feels a great deal of regret now."

"And why would you say that?" I asked.

"Because when one commits a crime, there is only a matter of time until they will regret it. It happens with everyone." He stated.

I stood up. "Yeah, you're right. I regret what I did. I messed up and let my powers go out of control... I should have never let that happen."

"Serenity... how did you even lose control?"

"You know... This and that."

I can't tell him that it was because of my loneliness and regret that triggered it...

"Can you tell me that they were?" He asked, standing up as well.

"I don't think it is that big of a concern." I stated.

"If it wasn't that big of a concern, then you wouldn't have lost control of your powers." He stated.

"I was 12 years old, and I decided to sneak out from the Sora Empire to explore the world that I once was when I lived with Zero... I went to the town and I saw a young girl. That girl was Yuuki. I recognized her only because I remember her from the time I saw her at the Sora Castle... I noticed that a vampire was approaching her. I was about to stop him and save her, until I saw a familiar face. That...that was you..."

The memories of the past came flooding back into my head.

~flashback, six years ago~

Looking at a map of the town, I was searching for this really nice sweets shop that everyone in the castle was talking about. I luckily managed to leave the castle without anyone noticing me. I managed to hide my Royal Pureblood status and mask it into that of a human's, since no one really noticed. As I was walking, I spotted a familiar figure stand in the streets. That's Yuuki Kuran... Why is she standing there?

I then noticed that a blond vampire was approaching her. Ugh... as much as I hate this girl, I can't let her get hurt. She's someone that Kaname really cares about. As I was about to show my Royal Pureblood identity, I noticed that Kaname was behind her, so I quickly went behind the pole again.

Wow... He's grown so much. He looks so handsome... The vampire bowed and left.

I looked at Kaname and Yuuki. His eyes look so sincere towards her... Could it be... that he's forgotten about me and moved on...?

Kaname embraced her tightly and I noticed Yuuki's happiness with him. She loves him, he loves her... I knew it. I knew that once I was out of the picture, he would return with her...

Tears were falling down from my eyes as they walked away.

"I love him... I love him so much. Yet he doesn't. He never thought of me as something more. Why... why her? How could you have never realized my feelings? I was always by your side..."

"Kaname...." I whispered.

"....Come back...."

I turned away and ran back the way I came. I shouldn't have seen that. That felt like a vampire hunter's weapon stabbed my chest...

As tears fell, I felt my eyes glowing gold... No... I can't let my feelings take over and accidentally activate my powers....

I should have killed Shizuka Hio right there at that time... Why didn't I do it? I could have provoked many other things from not happening. I'm so stupid...

My hair color changed into a bright red and my speed became inhumane as I ran back to the Sora Empire.

All of a sudden, I transformed into my true form without realizing it.

"Kaname... why..? Why did you have to forget me?! WHY?!"

I couldn't no longer control my movements. My feelings immediately took over.

~Third person PoV~

Eiji and Sakura were calling out to their daughter, who had lost control of their powers.

"Serenity, snap out of it!" Eiji called out.

"We have to take her back without anyone noticing!" Sakura answered, bringing her hand forward, transporting them to Sora Castle's throne room.

"We have to notify Kei and Mother as well! We must conduct the ritual immediately before the Sora Empire and what surrounds it is destroyed!" Eiji stated.

Lightning surrounded Serenity, and she screamed as if she was in pain.

"Why? Why?! Everything.. Everything is my fault! I should have killed her when I had the chance!"  Serenity screamed in a pained voice.

"Serenity! What happened to her?!" Reina surprisingly stated, who saw her granddaughter out of control.

"No time for that! Help us here!" Sakura responded, struggling to hold back Serenity's powers.

Kei and Reina threw lightning at Serenity as well.

"No! Kaname! Please....please don't leave with her...!"

Reina: leniret hoc solum...
(calm this lonely soul...)

Kei:animae est in potentia fulgur...
(with the power of lightning...)

Eiji: princeps vero ea ad formam
(return this gallant princess back to...)

Sakura: forma normalis eius!
(her normal form!)

Different colors of lightning hit Serenity and she ended up screaming in agony.

"Stop!!! STOP!!!!" She screamed.

"Sweetheart, calm down! Please! It's okay! It is certainly not your fault... Come back to your senses, Serenity..." Sakura called out to her.

Tears continuously kept falling from Serenity's glowing eyes as she looked at her mother.

"It's okay... We are here, Serenity. Everything is going to be alright...." Eiji stated.

"Dad...." She stated, her eyes turning back to her normal blue color as she descended, her hair turning back to its silver color.

Serenity passed out on the ground.

"She is not fit to become an Empress. She should return to the countryside with Ayame and I."

"The Sora Empire needs an heir to the throne. When Mother ruled the Sora Empire, as the eldest son, you were supposed to be next. But you decided to abdicate, and everything was pushed onto me! You don't understand how much stress it was cleaning after your mess. Now, we need an heir. Sakura and I are the current rulers. The only one that can succeed to the throne is Serenity. There is no one else." Eiji stated in an angered tone.

"Her powers are out of control, Eiji! She cannot even control herself when she's in her true form! What makes you think she can succeed as Empress?!"

"We can make this work. Serenity will eventually learn to control them." He answered.

"Mother, tell them! Serenity cannot succeed the throne!" Kei stated, trying to get Reina to understand.

"Eiji is correct, Kei. Serenity is the only one. If you haven't abdicated, then we wouldn't be in this situation at this moment. But now, we need an heir to continue our family's generation. Serenity is the only one that can."

"This is all just ridiculous! This is why having a monarchy ruling the vampire race is ridiculous. No wonder the former Kuran king decided to step down. We should have never split from the other vampires!" Kei stated angrily, storming off from the throne room.

~End of flashback, Serenity Tsukiyomi's PoV~

"That was...quite a story you told me."

I looked away. "Yes... But now I know to never use those powers when I am feeling some sort of negative emotion. At that time... I felt that power start to burn up within me, and I just let it go..."

"I'm sorry that I did this to you, Serenity. It's my fault."

"No, it's not. Don't blame yourself. You had no idea that I was alive and I made such a big fuss about it. To be honest, I'm not really good at understanding others. If anything, at that time I saw you two I was more jealous than anything and that might have activated my sadness and rage, bringing forth that power."

"Well, at least I'm now here with you. But to be honest, you still didn't forgive me when I saw you again... I had already believed that you already hated me..."

"Hate you? That can never be possible. I love you far too much to hate you. Maybe I was just a bit... envious of your relationship with Yuuki Cross."

He chuckled.

"Oh, Serenity... I love you so much, my precious princess...." Kaname softly said, his lips touching mine.

"Mm...."

My heart feels so warm..... It hasn't felt like this for so long.

What am I? Am I really someone that desperate for love? No... Not just anyone's love. His love. Kaname's love. Something that I always have been yearning for since I was young...

We then parted from our embrace and Kaname smiled at me.

"I'll always be with you, Serenity. From what I can see, we have a bright future ahead of us, after all."

I smiled. "Yeah, I guess you're right!"

I stopped there because I just did not want to continue with this conversation. I just want to start afresh and forget about what happened. I didn't end up losing control of my powers only because of Kaname.  It was also guilt for failing to protect Zero when he needed it the most. If I had killed Shizuka right when she had arrived, then I could have killed her right there. Why was I unable to kill her? It is still a question that lingers throughout my mind....

But there's always something that comes to my mind. When I had Kaname by my side, he would usually mention Yuuki a few times and he would usually look to the distance... But I should no longer be worrying about that. After all, he and I are officially together and are to announce ourselves as the heirs to the thrones to the Sora Empire. He decided to spend eternity with me. So why am I having second thoughts to what he said? He sounded very sincere, and I didn't sense that he was lying... Could it have been something else?

"Is everything alright?" Kaname asked.

"Yeah." I answered.

"As you say, then. But don't keep so much bottled up within you. If you feel like you want to let something out, I'm all ears."

"Thank you." I answered him with a smile.

A cold wind then blew as I heard someone's footsteps.

"Princess....Or should I just call you the future Empress Serenity?"

I stopped and looked around.

A small knife flew in my direction and I caught it, blood dripping from the palm of my hand.

"What a nice way to greet me, Akio Hiroi." I stated, looking at him coldly.

"How did you manage to get into Cross Academy, I wonder.." Kaname stated with an emotionless expression on his face.

"Simple. I am just a human, after all. No one would ever suspect my intentions." He stated with an evil smirk.

"You're not human. Not with the kind of heart you have. You are a Vampire Slayer. You kill our kind just for fun. Who in their right mind would even think about doing that?"

"We do. Even though your uncle's intentions are slightly different from ours. However, I see the Emperor decided to fill you in on who we are and what our purpose is. But yes. This world was created for humans. Not for filthy bloodsucking creatures like you. You all do nothing but take their lives. This world has no hope for coexistence, especially with how things are right now."

"You should know better. You've seen the future."

"Yes, I have. And I don't like it. That's why I'm here to help kill you, Kaname, and everyone that played a big part to what became our future."

I sighed.

"...Give your brother Aito and your other allies a message. As long as I stand here, I will not let the future change." I stated, making lightning hit him, transporting him out from the academy.

"Nice one, Serenity. For a split second, I sensed his fear before your transported him away." Kaname stated.

"Well...I guess that even Vampire Slayers themselves can be scared of their own enemies as well." I said with a laugh.

As we made our way back to the Moon Dorms, Kaname held my hand tightly as we walked back.

"Want to sleep in my dorm tonight?" He whispered.

"Of course." I answered with a whisper as well.

~Unknown location, Third person PoV~

With a spark of lightning, Akio fell down with a big thud.

"Ugh, that bitch of a princess.... How dare she."

"Seems like Serenity-hime didn't go easy on you at all..." Aito stated with a smirk on his face.

"Of course she didn't. We are her enemies after all. Didn't see Hinata-denka though." Akio responded.

Aito laughed. "Ridiculous. Hinata is attending the class that the Emperor and Empress once attended. Seems like she wants to see the life her parents lived. Why waste keeping the future the way it is? When she can just return to me, her precious Aito-kun?"

"A miserable one, of course. Sure they had their sweet and romantic moments, however-"

"Let's stop talking about the future now and focus on the matter at hand. Aito, this is for you." Kei stated, handing Aito some sort of serum.

"What is this?" Aito asked curiously.

"You want Hinata Kuran to submit to you? Use this. it will paralyze her for 24 hours."

Aito's expression then became that of excitement.

"Really?"

"Yes. You see, the Inheritance Ceremony is coming up to announce Kaname and Serenity as the future heirs to the throne. Obviously, their precious daughter will be in attendance. While everyone is focused on the ceremony, you can take Hinata with you. But be aware of Emperor Kaname. He will give you no mercy if he discovers you taking his daughter."

"Don't worry. I have a great deal of experience with being in the shadows. He will not even notice. I'll think of something." Aito stated with a smirk.

"But don't forget your reasoning for being here. You can be with Hinata, but she may end up fading away in the process if Kaname or Serenity dies in this time." Kei stated.

"As long as I have the opportunity to have her for this short amount of time, then so be it." Aito answered.

"That desperate to be with a woman, Aito?" Kei asked.

"Not just any woman. I want Hina, no matter what. My precious princess. She is the only Royal Pureblood that I would not even think to kill."

"I just cannot believe that Hinata-denka did fall for you at some point in her life. But it's probably because she didn't realize that you were a Vampire Slayer."

"She did eventually find out and she wanted to leave me, despite the fact that she still had feelings for me.  However, I wasn't going to let her go for sure. She was and still is mine and mine only. If anything, I'll kill her lover if he continues to threaten my relationship with her."

"Obsessive as always, aren't you Aito Hiroi?" Rido stated as he entered the room.

"That is my proof of undying love to her."

"Obsession isn't love as I believe it." Sara stated.

"You all can say whatever you want, but I personally find it to be love."

Akio sighed. "We shouldn't even be focusing on Hinata because of Aito's desire for her. We should be killing the Hi Kingdom's King in this time."

"Now, now. Akio. This isn't some easy-peasy task. Please do remember that you are targeting a Royal Pureblood and defeating one is not a walk in the park. Especially when we access our true form and that makes the situation even more complicated. Let Aito have his fun until we can formulate a formidable plan."

Akio sighed.

"All right, whatever."

~Serenity Tsukiyomi~

After I had already taken a shower, I opened the windows that were behind his long velvet couch so that some fresh air can come in. I was dressed in one of his black buttoned shirts, which went up to my knees. It is a bit embarrassing, because the only thing I have under is my bra and underwear. I was going to go to my dorm to get my sleepwear, but Kaname had told me that it was not necessary. Kaname's room was dark, and the only thing that gave it light was a candle that was lit up on his desk filled with paperwork, and the moonlight that entered when I had opened the windows.

I sighed as I looked up to the sky.

"I really need to think of something. I have to defeat my uncle and his allies one way or another. If I don't, the future may cease to exist. What should I do...?"

"Someone's been in their thoughts. Is it something that I can help you with?" Kaname asked as he emerged from the bathroom.

I turned around, and Kaname was shirtless. He was wearing white pants, and he had a towel around his neck.

Oh no... What is this feeling I'm having? I feel as if there was butterflies in my stomach, and my heart...it's beating faster than usual. No, Serenity! This isn't the time to be thinking these kind of things. I need to focus on the matter at hand.

"It's just the situation at hand. I don't understand what my uncle's intention is with doing all of this, but honestly it's stressing me up to the point to which I can't really gather my thoughts to what he is going to do next. I should have brought my violin. Playing it usually helps me get my thoughts together." I stated as I stood against the window.

Kaname walked up to where I was standing and looked outside.

"It's true that we do not know what is to happen next. And we don't exactly know what move they are going to make next. We just need to be ready for anything. So for now, the best advice that I can give you is to not worry. When the time comes, it comes. But right now, there is peace and quiet..."

"Yes, I guess so." I answered.

"So..."

He gently put his hand on my cheek and turned my head around, his eyes looking deep into mine. I was pressed against him, and because of my slight nervousness, I looked away.

I can smell the fresh scent of soap coming from him and the drips of water falling from his usual soft dark brown hair.

"Are you nervous?"

"Can't say I'm not..." I answered.

I then looked up at him and he smiled ever so gently at me. He caressed my cheek so softly, as if he was handling such a delicate porcelain doll. He traced my lips as his face was approaching mine.

The wind blew and put out the candle that was lit on Kaname's desk. I instinctively closed my eyes. His soft lips made contact with mine and we shared a slow, but loving kiss.

I feel such a warmth spreading throughout my entire body... It's like I'm melting from his gentle touch.

After about a minute or two of making out, our lips parted.

~Lemon Time! Read at your own risk! If you wish to skip it, scroll down until you find "end of lemon"~

"Serenity, I want to make love with you. I want to show my feelings for you. Is that alright?" He asked me, his eyes unwavering.

Becoming one with Kaname... Now that is something that I never thought would happen. I wouldn't mind doing it with him, but the only thing is... I've never done it before. Being in the Sora Castle for so long, believing to be dead kept me from having a lover. But also I have always loved Kaname. I could never think of making love with or even love anyone else but him...

Unable to give him my answer with words, I shyly nodded my head.

Before I knew it, Kaname had thrown the towel that was on his neck to the side and brought me into his arms, making his way to the king-sized bed.

He gently laid me on the silky sheets and hovered over me.

I can't say I'm not nervous.... This is something that is completely new to me. I've never gotten this intimate with another man before.

"I see why you're all nervous... You haven't done this before, haven't you?" Kaname asked as he sat up.

"N-no..." I answered nervously as I sat up next to him.

"I see...."

"But I still want to make love with you. You're the only one that I would let touch me...."

"Are you sure? I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable."

"It's you, Kaname. I don't feel uncomfortable with you." I answered as I caressed his cheek.

"Then if you'll have me...."

He brought me down into bed once again and hovered over me. His bed was obviously covered in his scent, which for some reason made me desire him more then usual.

"I'll make your first time a night to remember... I'll be very gentle. If you need me to stop, I'll stop."

I nodded my head.

As Kaname was tasting my lips with his, his hand slowly crept up from my feet up to my legs.

I was already feeling a pleasure that I've never felt before. It wasn't the pleasure when you would eat a piece of chocolate mousse cake or some other kind of tasty dessert that you would really like, but the kind of pleasure that you feel when your sharing a special moment with your other half.

My hands moved throughout his chest down to his hips as he continued to passionately kiss me.

"...Mm!"

His lips then moved to my neck as he began to slowly unbutton the long black shirt that I was wearing.

I felt some sort of a cool breeze as he took off the shirt completely.

Out of embarrassment, I covered myself and looked away.

Kaname chuckled in amusement.

"You're so cute when you do that... But you don't have to hide yourself like that from me. Don't be shy. I want to see all of you. Both body and soul." He whispered, giving me a reassuring kiss.

I put both my hands down and looked up at him with a blush.

"So beautiful. But what you don't realize is that you're not the only one whos heart is beating so rapidly..."

Kaname then put my hand on his chest.

And he was right. It was beating faster than usual as well.

Once I realized that, all of my nervousness slowly began to fade away. Both of us are feeling the same. I shouldn't be making this hard for him either...

I smiled. "I can see that."

He kissed me again, but this time so passionately that I can barely breathe. The noise that came from our lips echoed throughout the room.

Kaname's hand reached for the clips of my white-laced bra, unclipping it which exposed my breasts.

"Wow... To think that I finally have the opportunity to see you like this. This is such an experience..." He whispered with a chuckle as he kissed down from my neck, down to in between my breasts, to my tummy.

"Kaname...." I moaned.

"You smell like rose petals, Serenity... Did you know that roses are my favorite kind of flower?" He asked.

"Of course I know. You would never stop gazing at them when we were kids..."

"You really are one of a kind, my love..." He whispered, kissing my lips as I began to unzip his pants and boxers down.

His length stood out proudly. How in the world is that even going to fit in?

Blushing at its sight, I continued giving him sweet little kisses while I put both my arms around him.

"For a virgin, you are becoming pretty bold, Serenity. I like it..." He whispered between kisses.

"Mm... I guess it's thanks to you. Your boldness must have caught onto me." I answered.

"No matter what happens from here on out, I want you to know that I'll always be with you. As your knight to protect you, and as your husband to love and cherish you for always... I love you."

I smiled and caressed his perfect face. "I love you, too..."

He gave me a quick kiss on the lips.

I want more of him.... I don't care if it's painful or whatnot, I just want to feel that I'm one with him. That he is entirely mine. But I have no idea how to tell him that... It's embarrassing just to ask him just like that...

"....I know what you want, Serenity.. You're embarrassed to ask me."

Silence was my answer. He got it right on the mark...

"I just want to make sure if you want this. "

"Yes. I want you, Kaname. You're the only one that can do these kinds of things to me. No one else..." I answered with a whisper.

"You always make me feel like this... My love and desire for you will never change..." He stated, sliding the last piece of clothing off from my body.

Before I knew, I felt him sliding himself within me.

"Ugh..." He moaned.

It hurts, yet at the same time... it feels strange. I have finally become one with the man that I love...

I gripped the sheets tightly.

"Ow..."

"Should I stop?" He worriedly asked.

"No.... Please don't. This pain is temporary, right? It's okay... I trust in you." I whispered.

All of a sudden, a painful thirst hit my throat as the mark on my neck and my eyes glowed. The same happened to Kaname. Both the mark and his eyes were glowing as he looked down at me with his alluring eyes.

"Kaname... I need..."

"I know how you feel.... I- I want the same as well. I want your....."

"Blood...." The both of us said in unison.

Like two magnets coming together, the both of us bit into each other's necks.

A rush of pleasure ran throughout my body. A bittersweet pleasure that I could not even explain...

His blood ran down my mouth as I enjoyed the taste of it.

"Please...please start moving..." I thought to myself.

He seemed to understand, because he began to move at a fair pace.

I moaned in pleasure as I continue to take his blood.

One of Kaname's memories appeared before me. I saw a door deep underground with the Kuran family's insignia, and when it was about to open, the vision stopped.

I then retracted my fangs as he did the same and indulged in the pleasure as he was moving himself within me. I'll ask him about it tomorrow evening...

"Kaname...please go even faster!"

He then began to move himself at a speed beyond what humans can do and I was about to scream in pleasure until he covered my mouth.

"We don't want anyone hearing us now don't we? They should be making their way back here by now..."

About five minutes later, before I knew it, the both of us came and Kaname rested himself on me for awhile while catching our breaths.

~end of lemon~

"You did great for a first-timer..."

I blushed and looked away.

"Shut up..." I said with a pout.

He chuckled.

"Kaname! Where are you? Did you forget we had a chess match? Huh. You seem soo scared that you're not even coming out from your room!" Hina said from outside the doors, calling for Kaname.

"Hinata. Leave him be. He's probably with Serenity. Why don't you save this for another day and you and I can play a chess match? He and I are obviously the same person..."

"You two may look exactly the same, but that doesn't change the fact that you're still old!"

"Heh. I've improved a great deal, so be prepared."

"All right then, it's on!"

The noise of their footsteps distanced as they had gotten further from the room.

Kaname then moved from atop of me and laid next to me in bed, bringing the sheets over us.

"Looks like we are going to have a pretty confident daughter... But I can see where she gets that from."

"Hah... It's not just me. You are just the same, Kaname Kuran. And her love for chess comes from you as well."

He smirked. "Wonder if she can play the violin..."

"Should we ask her?"

"I guess we can. We should get going to bed. It is still evening, but we have to be up bright and early to teach a French class in the morning."

"Yeah..."

I then cuddled up to him and rested myself on him.

"You're so warm..."

He caressed my cheek as he looked at me with his beautiful, non-wavering red-brown eyes.

"I can say the same for you." He softly said, giving me a quick kiss on the lips.

I closed my eyes and slowly began to fall into a deep sleep.

"Good night, Serenity..." His voice echoed.

In response, I smiled and fell asleep. However, I heard a woman's voice call out to me in the darkness.

"I'll be seeing you very soon, my sweet Serenity... Be prepared. Because there are still things that you don't know, and those hidden secrets that eventually will be revealed will break you apart emotionally...Your life will soon become a living hell after you find out what your true purpose is...."

That voice.... it's Shizuka Hio...

Hidden secrets? What the hell is she talking about? And how would she know...?
