4th Night: To Cross Academy
~Serenity Tsukiyomi~
The sun was slowly starting to rise up into the sky and I was already in bed, trying to fall asleep.
I can't fall asleep... So much has happened tonight and I still can't believe that Kaname and I actually met again, and then this girl comes to the castle claiming to be my cousin... From my understanding, my uncle really didn't believe that I would be able to succeed as the Sora Empire's empress. He even went as far as telling me to leave with him when I came back four years ago, believing that I wasn't capable of become Empress. He can't possibly think highly of me. I sensed that Hina was lying to me about where she truly comes from and what relationship she has with the Tsukiyomi family. I mean, yes I can tell that she is of the Tsukiyomi family as she carries our blood, but I also can smell the blood of a Level A within her as well. It is such a familiar scent, but I can't put my mind to it...
I slowly closed my eyes and fell asleep.
~Yuuki Cross~
As I was making my way to class with Yori-chan, I thought of where Zero left last night. The Sora Empire? There's a completely different world within the world of vampires, is there... A race of vampires that's powers even surpass Kaname-senpai's. That's really scary, to be honest... There was a time that I got scared of Kaname-senpai, I can't imagine what it's like being around a Level S pureblood vampire. And the fact that Zero befriended one is even more surprising. Was Serenity-san that kind and pure that it even went up to the point that a person like Zero got close to her?
"You've been quiet lately, Yuuki. Are you okay?"
"Oh! I'm fine! I'm just not really looking forward to math class today, that's all..." I stated.
"You just have to pay more attention, Yuuki. I know Disciplinary Committee duties are a challenge, but you need to put more effort into your schoolwork as well." Yori said.
"I know I do. I'll try my best to do better!" I cheerfully stated.
The bell signaling that class was about to rang began.
"We're going to be late!" I said in a loud tone.
"Let's hurry! Maybe the teacher might not be in the classroom and we might just be able to get off the hook!" Yori-chan stated, taking me by the hand and running as fast as we can to class.
We ran through the hallways of the school until I opened the doors to the classroom.
"We are safe!" I stated in relief.
"Thank goodness..." Yori-chan stated.
Yori-chan and I both sat down at our seats, catching our breaths.
"Late again, huh... You're lucky enough that the teacher will not be in today, as she is on maternity leave."
"Oh, okay then..." I said with a sigh.
"Then who is going to substitute the class?" Yori asked.
As if on cue, the door opened and two teachers came in. The girls in the classroom immediately began to fangirl like crazy.
Zero sighed quietly. "Really... Why is Kaito and Master here...?" He whispered.
"I'm Toga Yagari. And this boy here is Kaito Takamiya. He will serve as some sort of a teacher in training, so please go easy on him."
Kaito? Isn't that the guy that Zero went with to the Sora Empire? What is he doing here?
"Hello. It is a pleasure to meet you all." Kaito stated.
"Aaa! Takamiya-sensei! Do you have a girlfriend?"
Kaito sighed and scratched his head. "Let's just say I'm interested in someone."
"Ehh... No way..." One of the girls said sadly.
"What about you, Yagari-sensei?"
"Oh great... Now the entire class period is going to be like this..." Yori-chan whispered.
~Zero Kiryu's PoV, after class~
Before leaving for Disciplinary Committee duties, I went up to both Master and Kaito, who were still at the front of the classroom. Yuuki went ahead to make sure the girls did not go out of control. There may be no Night Classes tonight, but we have to make sure the girls don't attempt to sneak in the Moon Dorms.
"What are you two doing here?" I asked, my hands crossed.
"We were ordered by the Association to come here. Did you not listen during the meeting at the Sora Empire? If something happens here at Cross Academy, we take action and evacuate the Day Class students immediately." Kaito stated.
"Kaito, we all know that you are here as a teacher in training at Cross Academy because Serenity Tsukiyomi of the Sora Empire is going to be in the Night Class starting tonight." Yagari stated.
"Shut up... That's not the reason. I was assigned here, remember.." He stated, looking away with a slight blush on his face.
"Oh really? From what I heard, you volunteered to come here when the President was asking for volunteers..." Yagari answered with a smirk.
I then decided to join in as well.
"Ne, Kaito... Do you have a thing for Serenity?" I asked.
Kaito turned around.
"So what if I do? Is that a problem?" He stated with his arms crossed.
"As a matter of fact, yes. She's already married to Kuran, and she is the representative of the Sora Empire. There is no future between you two. I can tell by the way she looks at him. Despite her acting cold towards him, she still loves him." I stated truthfully.
Kaito sighed. "I understand that. She is a butterfly that I will never be able to catch. But even so, I don't want to see her suffer ever again. I want to protect her from anyone that threatens to hurt her."
"You're too old for an 18 year old girl such as Serenity-hime. You're like 22 years old, aren't you Kaito?" Yagari asked.
"Age doesn't matter when it comes to liking someone, Yagari. Plus, I'm only four years older than her." Kaito answered.
"Whatever. I have Disciplinary Committee duties to take care right now. I'll see you two around..." I concluded, leaving the room.
It's going to get a bit rowdy having five Level S pureblood vampires around. More of a hassle when trying to keep Day Class students behind...
~Kaname Kuran~
I decided to bring some paperwork along with me, since it seems that this work is never going to end.. Plus, Serenity has been keeping her distance from me and not speaking a word, so I just decided to get some things done. I had already woken up early, taken a shower, and got dressed in my usual style.
The sun was slowly setting, and Serenity was still sleeping, as I haven't heard her voice or her footsteps pass my room.
It's almost time for her to wake up. I might as well go check on her to see if she has awoken yet. Plus, I need to hand her her Night Class uniform.
I got up from my desk and made my way out from my room and made my way to Serenity's room. I knocked on the door.
"Serenity-denka? Are you awake?"
No response.
I slowly opened the door and found her still fast asleep in her bed. Heh... She looks so innocent. Compared to how she acted so defensive towards me, now she's just so defenseless, despite being a Royal Pureblood.
I slowly made my way over to her bed and sat down on it, by her side. One thing I do know about her is that she is a very heavy sleeper. Once she falls asleep, she wouldn't even be able to sense my presence near her.
You suffered a lot because of me, and now you are hiding all of that sadness with anger, aren't you? You're angry at me... Never have I ever thought I would see you this way, Serenity Tsukiyomi.
Unconsciously, I put my hand on her cheek and gently caressed it.
"I'm so sorry, Serenity... I'm sorry that I forgot you. I'm sorry that I did not come to get you that night. And finally, I'm sorry that never came to see you after everything happened. Even if you were "dead," I should have come to see your grave. Me, more than anyone should have known that you were still alive. Especially when your mark still existed on mine..."
Why are tears even threatening to fall from my eyes? I am the kind of person that never sheds tears, for I consider something like this to be a ridiculous reason for crying. I'm confused... Feelings for Serenity are growing within me... or have these feelings always been with me ever since I was with her as children? Have I always been denying my feelings for her because of Yuuki? And the question that I need to answer is if I truly love Yuuki... Do I love her, or do I feel like I need to protect her to redeem myself for failing to protect Serenity?
I then felt her hand grab my hand that was on her cheek and she forcibly brought me down next to her, holding me like a teddy bear.
"So warm..." She whispered, holding me even tighter.
"Serenity..." I whispered.
I tried to escape, but it failed.
"Don't leave me... Please don't leave me ever again..."
I can easily escape by using my bats, but I just don't want to leave this embrace. This is the only time I seen her this defenseless...
I put my arm around her.
I want to protect you, Serenity... If it is true what Hina-san said about Rido, then I must protect you... as your knight...and possibly even your husband.
"Mm...."
Serenity moved in bed and sat up, looking around as she still held my arm.
"Ehh..?"
She looked at me and that was when she really woke up and opened her eyes.
Her face blushed in a light shade of red, and she quickly let go of my arm, while I ended up falling on the the ground.
"Ow..." I stated, rubbing my head.
"What are you doing in here, Kaname?!" She stated, her arms covering herself, her face blushing.
"I came to wake you up... But you ended up throwing me into bed with you... I was unable to escape. You held on to me so tightly, not wanting to let me go." I stated, standing up, still rubbing my head.
Serenity looked away and it seemed like she was attempting to hold herself back.
"...Sorry, it's my fault. You didn't hear anything weird from me, right?" She asked, attempting to smile while scratching her head.
I smiled. "I did. But you're such a liar, Serenity. You told me that those feelings from the past are over. But you cannot admit that you still have something for me, don't you..." I asked her.
She stayed silent for awhile, then spoke. "Don't misunderstand. I really don't have feelings for you anymore, Kaname Kuran. I'll even talk to my parents to end our marriage. That way, you can live a happy life instead of being chained to me."
"I refuse." I answered her.
Serenity turned around, a confused expression on her face. "What are you talking about? This marriage is now unnecessary. We were married for diplomatic reasons. I can now protect myself, and access my ultimate form if things get to worse. You're free."
She's lying. Her guard is down so much, that I can sense whether she is telling the truth or not. I can sense her feelings. But, I'll play the game.
"Even if you no longer love me, I still want to be by your side. Even if you divorce me, I will continue being by your side, Serenity. Even if it just has to be as your knight. I don't need to be the prince of the Sora Empire just to be with you. You can do as you wish, but ending our marriage doesn't end our relationship. And these words come from me truthfully. It's not because of our blood bond."
Serenity looked surprised at my declaration.
"Kaname, you..."
"I failed to protect you once, but this time I will not back down. No matter what you try to do, the outcome will always be the same. I will stay by your side until you genuinely tell me from the bottom of your heart that you no long want me to be by your side." I stated confidently.
~Serenity Tsukiyomi~
"I failed to protect you once, but this time I will not back down. No matter what you try to do, the outcome will always be the same. I will stay by your side until you genuinely tell me from the bottom of your heart that you no longer want me to be by your side." Kaname stated.
Why is he so hooked up on protecting me now? Isn't his desire to protect Yuuki at all costs now?
Kaname smiled.
"I'll get going so you can get ready. I need to get dressed in my Night Class uniform as well."
"All right." I answered.
Kaname left the room, while I remained standing as if I were frozen in place. He knows part of it, doesn't he... He knows that I don't want him to leave my side. That is why he told me what he just said. That divorcing him isn't going to change anything, that he will remain at my side despite that.
"Serenity-sama. A bath has been prepared for you." A maid stated as she emerged from the bathroom in my room. I forgot she was in there! Did she hear the conversation between Kaname and I?
"All right, thank you."
She bowed and left the room, not saying anything.
She must have ignored it... Anyways, I need to get ready.
I then made my way into the bathroom, slipped off my nightgown, and made my way into the refreshing bath.
"That's much better..." I said with a sigh.
Kaname still wants to be by my side... Does that mean he is willing to be by my side forever? Does he want to take on the role of the Emperor of the Sora Empire and continue being my husband?
How can that even be possible...? He loves Yuuki. Wouldn't he give this up and be with her?
I sighed.
"Kaname's so passionate with you, huh..."
I looked up and found Hina in the tub with me.
"Where the hell did you come from?!" I stated in a surprised tone.
"Hehe... You know how we Royal Purebloods have mysterious powers. I already have my things all set and ready and I figured I would take a bath with you, Serenity!"
"You're such a girl filled with mystery, you know that?"
"I am merely your cousin! Why would you consider to me to be such a mystery?"
"Because I know that you aren't my cousin, Hina. I sense the blood of a Level A within you."
"Of course you do! My mother is a Level A pureblood, if you happen to recall."
I almost forgot that my uncle had married a Level A...
"Serenity, why are you suspecting me so much?" Hina asked me seriously.
"I find it strange that you know what is going to happen. Not even us Royal Purebloods can predict the future..."
"Some things are better off not being said, Serenity. Just be happy that you all are being warned."
"I understand that, but there's just something about your blood that's so familiar to me, that I can't put my mind to it..."
"You yourself shall discover the answer in time. We are family, after all. And our relationship is closer than you think."
After talking with Hina for awhile, the both of us came out from the bathtub, and got dressed in our Night Class uniforms.
As I was brushing my hair, I asked Hina a question that I have been wanting to know.
"How old are you anyways, Hina?" I asked.
"Seventeen."
So she's a year younger than me, huh...
"I honestly really thank my father for giving me this opportunity to be helping you guys. I really want you and Kaname to live more than anything."
I then put my brush down back on my vanity.
"But why...? Why us? Is the reason because he and I are going to inherit the Sora Empire?" I asked.
"It's not just that. I really care about you two...." She stated, looking down to the ground sadly.
"But we just met yesterday..."
"Doesn't matter. I still care about you guys!" She stated, running up to me and giving me a tight embrace.
"Hina..."
She won't let go....
A little time after embracing me, she quickly broke it.
"Sorry about that. We need to get downstairs." Hina stated, making her way before me out from the room.
What was that all about?
I took my suitcases and then made my way out from my room.
"Serenity-sama. I shall carry those things for you." Kimura stated, who was right behind me.
"Oh, sure. Thank you."
"My pleasure." He stated as he took my suitcases.
Looks like I'm not going to be able to see this room until things clear up...
"It's going to be awfully silent without you in the castle, Serenity-sama..."
"You think so?"
"Of course. Without your requests, I'm just going to be around the castle, giving orders to butlers and maids to do and then I wait for the Emperor or Empress to give me any orders."
"Hehe."
"Anyways, changing the subject here, Serenity-sama. I saw Hina-sama pass by me. Honestly, I never knew Kei-sama had a daughter. "
"I don't think any of us knew... Plus she told me she was 17. My uncle met his lover honestly not too long ago. It was about 5 years ago... If they had a child, then their child would be at least 3 years old in human years..." I stated.
"I really don't know who she is. I don't understand why is she hiding her identity? Why can't she just tell us who she is?" Kimura asked.
"That girl must be hiding a very vital secret. There must be a reason why she is hiding her identity. Anyways, Kimura. Please keep watch over the castle and help keep strange things out from this castle." I stated.
"Yes, I will. Please take care as well, Serenity-sama. And also, please do try to mend your relationship with Kaname-sama."
I slightly looked away and stayed silent for a time.
"I'll see how things go... But Kimura, you do realize that I'm acting this way to let him go... But it seems that he doesn't want to leave at all... I don't know what to do anymore... I love Kaname. But I cannot, because I know he loves Yuuki-san. I can't be my usual self around him, or else I'll get even more attached to him."
"Serenity-sama...."
I smiled cheerfully.
"I'll be okay!" I reassured him, walking in front of him.
"If that is what you say, Serenity-sama..."
When I made my way downstairs, Kaname was sitting on the couch, dressed in his Night Class uniform, drinking tea and reading a book, while Hina was sitting next to him, drawing on a notebook.
I smiled.
I don't know why, but I have this desire to protect her as well. Maybe since she's of my family, I have this special connection with her...She like a little sister that I never had. Maybe she feels lonely since she doesn't have an older sister to watch over her.
For the time that she is here with me, I will protect her like an older sister.. I don't know my relationship is with her at the moment, but I can sense that she is our ally. She wants to help us.
Hina looked at me from her notebook and smiled.
"That Night Class uniform looks really nice on you, Serenity!"
"You think so? I do think the skirt is a bit short, though." I stated.
Kaname closed his book and smiled at me.
"It's perfect on you, Serenity." Kaname stated, standing up from the couch.
"Serenity-sama, Kaname-sama, Hina-sama. Your carriage to take you to Cross Academy awaits. The other royals are on their way there as well."
"All right. Shall we get out of here?" I asked.
"Yes. Let's." Hina answered.
"Yes." Kaname answered.
"Serenity." My father called out from behind.
I turned around and both my parents were standing there with smiles.
"We wish you good travels to Cross Academy. Be careful out there, alright?" My mother stated.
"Don't worry, I will." I answered.
"Eiji-sama, Sakura-sama. Don't you worry. I will protect Serenity-denka with my life." Kaname stated confidently.
"We know, Kaname-san. We trust that you will protect our precious daughter." Father answered.
Our bags were brought to the royal family's carriage and we made our way there as well. The three of us said our goodbyes and went inside the Tsukiyomi family's royal carriage. Hina and I sat next to each other, while Kaname sat across from us.
The carriage slowly began to move, making its way to Cross Academy.
There was actually a very awkward silence between the three of us for a time, however, Hina was the first to speak.
"Um.. So you two are married... Why aren't you two acting all lovey-dovey?"
"That's because this is an arranged marriage. Kaname is only my husband because he's my knight and Rido Kuran would have ended up marrying me." I stated with a sigh.
"Really? But you and Kaname look so perfect together."
"Thank you, Hina-san." Kaname answered.
Just watch. By the time we get back to Cross Academy, things are going to be the way they were. Whatever. I'm going there for business, not to have fun. I'll just get this situation with Rido dealt with and return to the Sora Empire.
I sighed and looked out the window of the carriage.
The castle was beginning to hide itself within the mountains and the fog slowly began to surround the Sora Mountains.
See you soon, beautiful and mysterious Sora Empire. I will return.
In the far distance of the woods, I saw a hooded man wearing a blue mask, covering his eyes and the top of his nose watching us with a smile as we departed.
"Kaname, did you see that?" I asked, pointing to where I saw the man.
Kaname looked in suspicion and noticed the man watching us from a distance.
"Do you want me to go take care of him, Serenity-denka?"
"No! Don't hurt him... He's my father. " Hina whispered.
Uncle Kei? That's not possible... From what I remember, Uncle Kei is a bit taller than him. And what creeps me out is that he smiling so gently...
"Why is your father hiding his identity? Everyone in the Sora Empire knows who Kei Tsukiyomi is." Kaname stated.
"B-Because he longer wants to involve himself with the royal family..."
"You sound very unsure of your statement, Hina-san..." Kaname answered with a smirk.
"I'm not unsure! I'm just a bit nervous..."
Kaname looked at her in suspicion and looked out the window.
"He disappeared... Your father is quite a mystery, Hina-san. Are you sure he's not aiding the enemy in secret?" Kaname asked suspiciously.
"No! My father isn't like that! He wants me to help you and Serenity! It was his idea in the first place for me to come to you guys! He really cares about the both of you..."
He's one of those loyalists that want Kaname and I to become the rulers, that's why that man must be doing all of this...
"My uncle is pretty tall, Hina. And if you're telling me that he doesn't want to involve himself with the royal family, then why would he want Kaname and I to become the rulers?"
Before I knew it, Hina had fallen asleep on my lap.
"Serenity, this girl is clearly not your cousin." Kaname stated.
I sighed. "I know... But I don't want to pressure her. There might be a reason why she doesn't want to tell us. Let's play her little game." I stated looking down at her innocent sleeping face as she rested on my lap.
"Yes, you're right... Hey, Serenity. I was thinking that when we get to Cross Academy, I can give you a tour around the school so that you can get to know it."
"There is no reason for me to get to know it. I'm there for a purpose: stay undercover as a student and plan ahead to what is going on. I already can sense that something is going to happen and it's something big. And if what Hina says is true, then I need to take immediate action. And plus, I wouldn't want to get in between you and Yuuki-san." I answered coldly.
"You will never get in between anything, Serenity." Kaname stated.
"I'm going to ask you once again. I can go to my parents and call off our marriage. I'll even free you from your duty as my knight. You'll be happier that way."
"Serenity, you know I would never do that. If you really wanted to, you would have done it right away. You're giving me a choice in this matter, meaning you want things to remain as they are." Kaname stated in a soft tone, putting his hand over my hand that rested on Hina's head.
My heart skipped a beat at the touch of his hand. However, I quickly took his hand and put it on his lap.
"I will wait. It can be decades or even centuries... I will wait until you forgive me, Serenity." He said sadly, looking down with such a sad expression on his face.
Why do I feel such a loneliness emit from him? Why is he speaking to me in such a sad tone. I have to be honest... Just seeing him this way makes me want to get out of this spot and hug him with all the love I have for him... But I cannot. I have to get him to understand how lonely I felt when I was forgotten by the entire vampire race, including him.
~Kaname Kuran~
Just seeing Serenity act this way towards me makes me suffer greatly. I try not to make it as obvious, but I know she can sense it. Seeing Yuuki with Kiryu hurts me greatly, but not as much as seeing Serenity reject me when I try to get closer to her. I want her to forgive me so desperately. Maybe I feel this way because I...
I love her...
These feelings have been within me ever since I was young, but... at that time, I have always thought those feelings were the desire to protect her. But maybe all this time, these feelings were possibly my love for her...
"Serenity, I may have said this before but I am really sorry. But I have never forgotten you, not even once! Like I said, I thought that you have wanted me to move on, but I did not know that what I believed actually hurt you."
Unconsciously, my hands began to tremble while I had my hands tied together.
For a second, Serenity looked at me worriedly.
"Are you alright, Kaname?"
I'm going to tell her my feelings. I want her to at least know how I feel.
"Serenity, I'm confused..."
"Excuse me?"
"I-"
We were then interrupted by the man that was taking us to Cross Academy.
"Serenity-hime, Kaname-sama! T-There are Level E's surrounding the carriage! I cannot get us out."
"I'll take care of it. Stay here, Serenity." I stated, about to leave the carriage.
"No. I'll go. I'm not going to be behind the front lines forever. They are just Level E's. I'll wipe them out in a cinch. Just watch over Hina until I get back, okay?"
I sighed and smiled. "All right then." I switched places with Serenity and rested Hina's head on my lap.
Serenity jumped out from the carriage and quickly slammed the carriage door shut.
I looked out the window and all the Level E's were actually feared by Serenity's presence as they were stepping back in fear.
I then looked at Hina, who had a strained look on her face.
"Mother...Father and I will protect everything you and him worked so hard to achieve... I will make sure things turn out the way they need to be..." She said in in her sleep.
"To achieve what? Just what are you talking about? Who are you?" I whispered.
I looked out the window and Serenity was glowing. Her eyes were glowing gold, and within five seconds, the Level E's surrounding the carriage had disappeared into dust.
Serenity once again stepped inside and sat down across from me.
"Heh. What did I tell you? I told you I can get rid of them just like that." She stated with a smirk on her face.
The carriage began moving and the ride to Cross Academy continued.
~Rido Kuran~
*play the music*
I stood behind a tree watching the confrontation between Serenity-hime and the Level E's. She really is powerful. As expected of a Level S Royal Pureblood... I will make her mine. And I will become the new Emperor of the Sora Empire one way or another...
"She is a powerful one... But calling forth a war is risky, Rido. Especially against Royal Purebloods. They are dangerous." Sara Shirabuki stated, standing behind me.
"Not when we have one on our side. I have that certain Royal Pureblood to thank for reawakening me with their delicious blood... Thanks to them, I've gained more power."
"Heh... I can't wait to see how things unfold. When the four kingdoms and the Sora Empire fall and we, the Level A purebloods take over."
"All I need to do is kill the remaining members of both the Tsukiyomi and Kuran families. With that, the position of the Emperor of the Sora Empire will fall right into my hands..."
"Rido-sama... You know you have our aid as well." Ichio stated, coming out from the shadows.
"You have my thanks, Ichio. We will assure that the Level A purebloods will become the vampires that fall on the top of the triangle. I'll find a way to make Serenity Tsukiyomi fall in love with me..."
"I think I do have a way, Rido-san... But it will take me about a week or so to get the ingredients." A young man called out from the shadows, bringing his hood down.
"Ah, if it isn't Akio Hiroi, the young genius wizard. It's a surprise that you, such a successful wizard is helping me bring my plans into action."
"That's because I want to see those prosperous kingdoms ruled by the Royal Purebloods fall down into shreds and that their race become extinct. It's what I have been wanting for a long time."
"Ah yes, from what I heard, a Royal Pureblood killed someone important to you. If I'm not mistaken, it was someone from the Ryuzaki family if I am not mistaken..."
"I wish to not talk about it. I'm here to help you out. Anyways, I can concoct a potion that can make someone see the person they love in another person. For example, Serenity Tsukiyomi will see you as Kaname Kuran, and the real Kaname as yourself. It messes with their brain a bit. If you give the potion to the princess of the Sora Empire, then your plan can go more smoothly. But as I stated previously, it will take awhile for me to find the ingredients, so you must wait patiently."
I cackled. "Really... If you can do that, it will be perfect! The only thing that needs to happen is that Kaname and Serenity's relationship gets mended as soon as possible... And when that happens, my plan will start going in motion!"
~Serenity Tsukiyomi~
In the far distance, I see Cross Academy. Just from a distance, the school itself is massive.
"We're almost there! I can't wait!" Hina, who recently woke up from her nap, stated excitedly as she looked out the window.
I sensed that Kaname's eyes were on me for a time. He told me that he was confused. That must mean he's confused on whether he truly loves Yuuki-san or me. From what Kaname told me throughout most of the ride, he told me that Yuuki has no memories whatsoever of when she was a vampire. She's now just an ordinary human girl.
I will continue acting this way until his true feelings are brought to light. It sounds selfish of me, but it is something that must be done...
I'm sorry, Kaname....
Once we made it to the school's entrance, Kaname stepped out first and elegantly held his hand out. I took it and helped me down. He did the same with Hina, while the man that conducted the carriage took out our luggage. In front of us stood Cross Academy's main gate accompanied by a few flights of stairs.
"Why don't we save the trouble of going up all these stairs?" I stated, taking both Kaname and Hina's hand and transported us to the main gate.
At the main gate, stood two familiar faces.
Zero Kiryu and Yuuki Kuran... Or better known now as Yuuki Cross, adopted daughter of Kaien Cross, the headmaster of this academy.
Behind them stood Rina and Satsuki, who had seem to arrive before us. They were dressed in their Night Class attire as well.
"Hey, Serenity! Looking really cute in that uniform!" Rina said cheerfully.
Satsuki looked at me with a smile. "You really do." He responded in agreement.
"Welcome to Cross Academy, Serenity." Zero said with a smile.
I smiled and Zero then looked over to Yuuki.
She cut her hair? Well, I'll be... She looked much prettier with her long hair. Wonder why she decided to make a change.
Noticing that I was staring at her for a time, she looked down.
She's scared of me? Heh. That's good to know. She then bowed and introduced herself.
"I-It's nice to meet you, Serenity Tsukiyomi-hime. I-I'm Yuuki Cross. Zero and I are what make the the Disciplinary Committee of this school."
So they did mention me to her. She realizes that Satsuki, Rina, and I are the most powerful vampires known to existence. I guess she can tell by simply just looking at us.
I forced myself a smile. "It's nice to make your acquaintance, Yuuki-san. I'm sure someone must have explained to you who I am. Many people thought I was killed. But surprise, surprise... I've been alive ever since the Sora Empire was attacked ten years ago."
Her eyes widened.
Yes. Ten years ago, the same time Kaname saved you from that vampire.
"Are you alright, Yuuki-san?" I asked, pretending to be worried.
"I-I'm fine." She answered.
Kaname put his hand on my shoulder and spoke to me telepathically.
"Serenity, please do not mention to her what happened to you ten years ago. It's better off she doesn't know anything."
"Whatever." I answered coldly.
I noticed that he was wearing the wedding ring that showed that we are married. He's wearing it, huh... I'm only wearing mine for show, but I never knew he was going to wear his...
A few minutes later, Aiko and Azusa arrived.
"Wow. It is as what they say! Cross Academy is massive!" Azusa stated, looking at the school in awe.
"Yes, it is quite huge." Aiko responded.
"Well, now that all of you are here, we are to escort you to the Headmaster's office." Zero stated in a annoyed tone.
Once the others arrived, Zero went back to his usual self. That's right. In general, he hates us vampires. But since I spent six years with him, he got to know me.
"If you have any questions, you can ask me, Serenity." Kaname reassured me in his usual gentle tone with a smile.
Yuuki turned around and looked over at Kaname and I. I saw her blush and then turn around once again.
"Ne, Serenity... Did you see Yuuki Cross? She looks a bit jealous..." Hina whispered.
I softly giggled.
Even if she doesn't remember, she's the same Yuuki Kuran I remember from when I first met her.
And with that, all of us made our way to the Headmaster's office to introduce ourselves.
