2nd Night: The Sora Princess Returns
~Serenity Tsukiyomi~
The sun was slowly rising and Rina decided to go to her room and get ready for bed, as tomorrow evening was the big night. As for me, I had to stay awake and wait for Satsuki, Aiko, and Azusa, who were on their way here. Things are actually currently hectic here in Sora Castle as things are being prepared for tomorrow's ceremony.
I am making my way to my room, while all of a sudden Kimura calls out to me.
"Serenity-sama!"
I turned around and smiled.
"Kimura, welcome back! How did things go with Zero?"
"Everything is good with him. I handed him the letter that you had sent to him."
I sighed. "That's good. I can't wait to see him tomorrow! I hope he has been doing well!"
"I don't know about that, Your Highness. Zero looked...very thirsty for blood."
"It has been four years. The effects of my blood lasted for a long time."
"What?"
"That night when the Kiryu residence was attacked... I offered Zero my blood, as he was bit by Shizuka Hio."
"Y-you what?!"
"I did not want him to suffer of blood thirst for a few years, so I gave him my blood. It seems like the effects of my blood are wearing off..."
"Serenity-sama... You know you are not allowed to give your blood to a Level D vampire! It is a taboo!"
I sighed. "It was only once... It wasn't like I was continuously giving it to him. I gave it to him once and that was the end of it. Plus, that was four years ago. It's okay." I reassured him with a smile.
"As long as you haven't done it again... That is fine with me. Your family's bloodline has become extremely rare. Your family is just as rare as the Kuran family has become. The only people that remain from them are Yuuki-sama, Kaname-sama, and Rido-sama. And in this family only remains your parents, your grandmother, and yourself."
"I understand those circumstances just fine. The only reason I can shed my blood is to either heal someone or give it to my husband."
"Correct. That is what your parents have told you, remember? The only person you can give your blood to is the one you have the blood bond with, which is your husband, Kaname Kuran-sama."
"Yes, I know..." I then touched my neck and felt something faintly glow on my neck. The symbol of a red rose glowed for a short time, then disappeared.
I can still feel his blood run through my veins after all of these years...
"Serenity-denka! They have arrived!" A servant called out.
"All right, I'll be right down!" I called out.
"I need to get downstairs. Go and see if Rina needs anything." I ordered Kimura.
"Yes, Serenity-sama."
I turned around and walked back the direction I came from.
As soon as I made it to the castle's entrance, Satsuki, Aiko, and Azusa had arrived.
"Hey guys! It's been a while."
"It really has been, my dear...." Satsuki, the prince of the Hi Kingdom said, giving me a kiss on the hand.
"Satsuki, you know you should not be doing that to a married woman!" Azusa, the prince of the Mizu Kingdom stated, getting in between us.
"Married woman? Her marriage to Kaname Kuran is nothing but an arranged marriage. Plus, Serenity deserves to be truthfully happy."
I sighed.
When I was young, my parents were supposedly going to set me up with Satsuki Ryuzaki, but then they declined because they didn't want our family to form an alliance with the Ryuzaki family because they were a family that didn't really agree with the standards of how the Level S purebloods should interact with the other members of the vampire race. They believe that we, the Level S purebloods have the right to do as we please and not give mercy to anyone.
"Arranged marriage or not, Kaname is still my husband and I carry his last name." I said, after staying silent for awhile.
Plus, I have no interest in being with Satsuki either. He's a little...rough around the edges.
"Anyways, sorry we are late! Certain things were holding us up." Aiko stated, attempting to change the subject.
"What things?" I asked curiously.
"Well tomorrow, after the ceremony and such, the Sora Empire and its four kingdoms are going to be holding a very important meeting. Well, that is what I heard from my parents." Azusa stated.
"A meeting for what?"
"Your parents didn't tell you? Someone from the Kuran family is threatening the Tsukiyomi family. The nerve...To mess with a Level S pureblood family, they really are looking for their death. Reasons why I hate Level A's..." Satsuki stated in an angry tone.
It can't be Kaname.... Legally, he is still my husband. I do not see the reason for him to be doing this. That means the only one that I can think of is....
...Rido Kuran.
But he disappeared 10 years ago and he hasn't been heard from ever since he attacked the Sora Empire.
"It's not Kaname..." I said softly.
"What makes you say that, Serenity? Is it because you still cling to him?" Azusa stated casually.
"...No. I don't love him anymore. That love I had for him 10 years ago faded away a long time ago."
It's not true.... I just promised myself that from now on, I am going to keep my feelings to myself.
"Then divorce him. Why keep that disgusting, useless Level A by your side when you can marry another Level S pureblood vampire?" Satsuki stated with a smirk on his face.
"Satsuki. Do not speak that way about Kaname-san. As of now, he is Serenity's husband. Treat him with a bit of respect."
"Tch, ridiculous. I'm getting ready for bed. It's been a long evening. Can you guys bring my bags to my room and prepare me a bath? Make it really warm." Satsuki ordered the one of the castle's butler and maid.
"At once, sir." Once of the maids said.
A butler then took Satsuki's bags and both he and the maid rushed upstairs.
"Serenity, if you are truly over him, then you should consider being with me. I won't ever hurt you like he did." He said in a low tone, slowly making his way up the stairs.
I looked down.
Kaname left me, and did not even care about searching for me. Why am I even thinking about him if I no longer exist in his world?
"Are you okay, Serenity?" Aiko asked in a concerned tone.
I then got out of my trance and smiled.
"Yes, I was just out of it for a bit. Why don't we go in the open-air bath in my room? It's really awesome. And I do want to tell you something as well." I stated.
"Sure."
"Can I join you guys?" Azusa said with a smirk.
Aiko glared at Azusa and used her telekinesis to throw him against the wall.
"Pervert. And sure, let us go, Serenity." Aiko stated, making her way up the stairs.
I looked over at Azusa and he had his thumb up, showing that he was okay. I then followed Aiko who was already going upstairs.
"I was just joking!" He called out.
"Well, I personally do not like jokes like that." Aiko said.
We made our way to the open air hot spring that was located in my room and got dressed in my swimsuit, which was a pink bikini. Aiko was wearing the same, only her color was yellow.
We made our way inside, and the warm water calmed me down a bit.
"Ahh, this feels good after a long trip here. So, what did you want to talk with me about, Serenity?"
"Aiko... I still love Kaname. I don't know what to do. I know that I am going to come face to face tomorrow with him during that ceremony... Father already sent him the invitation!"
"Huh... Tomorrow evening's gonna be big. And since he's your husband, it's obvious that he is going to be attending the meeting as well. Here's what you can do. Act cold towards him."
"That is what I had in mind... But I don't know if I can do that."
"That is what you are going to have to do to give him the message, Serenity."
I looked up at the sky, which was reaching dawn.
Kaname... I love you. And I always will. But I know that I am not what you want. You want Yuuki. And if that is what you want, I understand. But just know that for me to be able to move on, I will have to act cold towards you.
"I think this is for the best. For me to be able to at least try and move on...." I whispered, looking up to the sky.
"Maybe that is when he'll understand what it feels like to be forgotten by someone who was once so close to you...." Aiko stated, looking up as well.
~Kaname Kuran~
I was sitting at my desk, finishing up some paperwork. I then opened the drawer to my right and saw the case where the golden ring was stored.
"Serenity-denka... I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you when you needed me the most. If I was able to find you before you died... I could have saved you..." I said to myself, picking up the ring.
That day she died, she told me she loved me truthfully. I didn't even know how to respond to it... It all came so suddenly, I do not even know what to think to this day.
Her innocent, happy and encouraging smile comes to my mind. Ever since I was given this invitation, I've noticed that the person that has been in my mind lately is Serenity-denka. I picture how she would look like now... She would have grown to be an eighteen year old girl with beautiful long white hair, and shining blue eyes. She would currently be the Sora Empire's representative, and she could have been her in the Night Class with me... But all of that was taken away from her because she was killed or even devoured.
What is troubling me now is how Kiryu has a relationship with Serenity-denka. I will not buy into that pathetic excuse that he came up with. Is he behind Serenity-denka's death? Because if he is, I will personally deal with him. Anyways, I guess I'll find out the truth when I ask Emperor Eiji or Empress Sakura tomorrow evening. Well, I better get some rest. I have this feeling that tomorrow evening is going to be very nostalgic.
~Zero Kiryu~
I'm currently in the horse stables, just laying down on the haystack and looking at the invitation from the Sora Empire.
Serenity... I wonder how have you been. It's been four years since I have last seen you. She lived with me for six years after the Sora Empire was attacked and she waited for Kuran to come and get her. But he never did, and that pissed me off so much that I just wanted to kill him right there that first time I saw him again at the Headmaster's residence. Serenity is the first and only pureblood vampire that I befriended and ever got close to. However, she changed after my family was attacked. She was calm and hid her emotions from that day I last saw her. For the six years she stayed at the Kiryu residence, she always sat in front of the window during the evenings, just waiting for him to appear. But he never did. And then during the days while she slept, I would pass by her room and I would hear her silently cry his name in her room.
"Serenity..." I whispered to myself.
"Zero! Are you here?" Yuuki's voice called out loudly.
I sighed and put the invitation in my pocket.
"What do you want?" I said in a bothered tone.
"C'mon! We are going to be late for class, Zero! Why are you dozing off here?" She said, poking her head in.
I stood up and walked ahead of her.
"Wait, Zero!" She called out, catching up to me.
Yuuki and I made our way to class, and just barely, we made it on time.
~the next evening, Serenity Tsukiyomi's PoV~
Tonight was a very busy night at the castle. Maids and butlers were running around making sure that everything was beautifully decorated. The ceremony is to be held outside in the castle's front massive balcony, and the only people that were invited to this ceremony was the head of the senate, both Level A and other Level S purebloods, and certain aristocrats that accompanied the Level A's that they served.
Meanwhile, I am currently sitting in my room while the maids were fixing my hair for today's ceremony. I was wearing a long white kimono with a flower pattern on it. The obi was silver with an encrusted ruby on it.
My hair was being done in a style that is a bit complicated for me to explain, but basically they were keeping a part of my hair down, and then putting some up to make it resemble a hair bun. My bangs were moved to the side as well.
My heart cannot stop beating quickly at the thought that I was going to face the world once again. The good thing about this is, I'm finally going to be able to leave the castle.
"Serenity-sama, I cannot wait to see your reunion with Kaname-sama! The connection you two had as children was inseparable!"
"Yeah, I guess so..." I said with a laugh.
My reunion, huh... I wonder how he's going to act when he sees me alive like this.
One thing is for sure: I am not the Serenity Tsukiyomi he knew from 10 years ago...
With that ingrained in my mind, I continued preparing myself mentally for the revelation the entire vampire race was about to find out.
That Serenity Tsukiyomi, the only pureblood princess of the Sora Empire did not die on that night 10 years ago and that I was raised with the Kiryu family for six years, staying in hiding. But in truth, I was just waiting for Kaname to come and find me to bring me home. Honestly I think back to it now, and I believe it to be ridiculous.
But something as simple as that hurt me deeply. It stung my heart so painfully that I would cry my eyes out every day because I felt so empty without him. Is this what loneliness truly feels? Because if that is it, it truly is something painful...
"You're all set, Serenity-sama!" The maid said cheerfully.
I slowly stood up from my seat and made my way to the mirror. I smiled at my appearance.
"It has been a very long time since I've dressed like this... The last time I dressed like this was when I was only 8 years old..."
"It really has, Serenity-sama. But now your life from this point forward is going to be a happy one! You will get to be with Kaname-sama again!"
I stayed silent and smiled at the maids.
"Thank you, everyone. I will be on my way now." I stated, leaving the room.
The thing is, I won't be with Kaname. Kaname loves Yuuki. He thought of me as nothing as his mistress...
"Serenity!" Rina called out to me.
I turned around and she and Aiko were walking up to me, dressed up in their kimonos.
"You look so beautiful, Serenity!" Rina stated cheerfully.
"You do as well, guys!" I said with a happy smile.
"In less than a few hours, we'll soon be officially announced to everyone as our kingdom's representatives, huh..."
"Yeah. Though I am a bit nervous."
"Don't worry, Serenity! The people will be really happy to find out that you are alive!"
"Yeah, you're right..."
...Or maybe they'll be relieved to find out that the only heiress to the throne is still alive.
"Hello there, ladies. You three are looking very beautiful tonight." Azusa stated, dressed in his finest.
"Thank you." Rina stated elegantly with a smile.
"Serenity, you remind me so much of Kaguya-hime..." Satsuki said, his eyes looking upon me.
*For those of you who don't know, Princess Kaguya is a girl who was born on the Moon and was found on a shining stalk of bamboo as a baby by Taketori no Okina (an old bamboo cutter) and he took her in. She was known to all as a beautiful and fair lady and five princes approached her to take her hand in marriage.*
"Really? I wouldn't go as far as that..."
"No. You are. You look precious."
"Well, thanks for the compliment." I stated with a smile.
"Serenity-sama, everyone! It is time to rehearse for the ceremony!" Kimura called out to us.
"All right, ready guys?" I asked.
They all nodded their heads and we followed Kimura outside.
~Kaname Kuran~
I stood in front of the mirror, fixing my red tie and making final adjustments before going to the Sora Empire. I then looked at the golden ring that glistened on my desk. I took it from my desk and slipped it on my ring finger. The citizens of the Sora Empire probably may still see me as their prince. Even after her death, for some reason the Emperor and Empress didn't say anything on what to do with my marriage with Serenity.
I will be going to Sora Empire accompanied by Seiren, Ichijo, and Ichio. It bothers me a little that Ichio is going, but he is only going to maintain some sort of relationship with the Level S purebloods and he will be attending the meeting as well...
*knock knock*
"Kaname-sama? May I enter?" Seiren called from behind the door.
"Yes. Come in."
"The limo awaits outside. Whenever you are ready."
"All right. I will be right out."
She bowed and made her way out.
I then stepped out of my room and went into the hallway. I'll make a visit to Serenity-denka's grave. I do have a few things to say to her. How I'm sorry that I didn't find her when I had the chance. Because if I had found her earlier, she wouldn't have died. But Yuuki was in danger. I chose Yuuki's life over Serenity-denka's. I let Serenity-denka down as her protector...
...and her husband. I wasn't there when she needed me the most.
As I went down the stairs, I saw the others downstairs in the living room. Ichijo was already dressed in his suit and green tie.
"Kaname-sama, I wish you good travels to the Sora Empire." Aido stated with a bow.
"Thank you. I will."
"How long are you going to be there, Kaname-sama?" Ruka asked.
"I don't know how long they are going to keep me there. There is supposedly a meeting after the ceremony and they want me to attend. So I do not know how long they are going to keep me there. Until then, I ask that all Night Class students remain in the Moon Dorms until Ichijo or I return."
"All right." Ruka stated.
"Take care, everyone." I said.
"See you around, everyone!" Ichijo said in his usual cheerful voice.
The three of us then made our way out of the Moon Dorms and out to the front of the academy, where a limo awaited us.
"I wonder... Are there going to be a great deal of people there?" Ichijo asked.
"Of course there is. They are going to publicly announce who the representatives of the 5 Level S monarchy families are." I answered.
The both of us then made our way into the limo and we made our way to the Sora Empire.
"To think... That Serenity Tsukiyomi-sama, the princess of the almighty Sora Empire was your wife. I have to say she really suited you. The princess of an almighty empire that is feared by many with a prince that is feared by all vampires that's level is that of an aristocrat or lower."
"Even if she was the princess of a kingdom that was feared by the entire vampire race, she did not have that aura around her. She was so gentle, so kind, and very determined. She was on the verge of using her ultimate power when she had to face that thing. Her power can wipe out not just her opponent, but also the people that surround her. She has the power to destroy an entire kingdom with her anger. That is why I always told her in the past to smile always. Her smile always made me smile back. It made my evenings and made me get through my challenges." I stated, looking out the window.
"Can I ask you something, Kaname?" Ichijo asked.
"What is it?"
"Did you...love her?"
"That question...I cannot answer as of now. I myself do not understand these feelings deep within my heart." I answered.
I have my feelings for Yuuki. Serenity-denka is dead. She is gone from this world. I'm sure that she would want me to be happy right now...
~Zero Kiryu~
I was already all dressed up and I had gotten ready to leave until Yuuki and the Headmaster found me at the front door.
"Zero!~ You look really handsome!" The headmaster had said, coming up to me.
Yuuki looked a bit confused, as she did not quite understand what was going on.
"Where are you going, Zero?" She asked.
I sighed in annoyance and answered her.
"...To the Sora Empire."
"Sora Empire? What is that?" Yuuki asked curiously.
"The Sora Empire is an empire hidden within the mountains that is ruled by Level S pureblood vampires. They are not controlled by the Senate, and their political system is a monarchy."
"Level S?"
I sighed.
"They are the highest in the pyramid. They are at the tip of the pyramid, making them the most powerful." I answered.
"So they are more powerful than Kaname-senpai?!"
"Yes, that is correct. We try not to get too involved with them, but Zero here had a very close relationship with the Sora Emperor's daughter and he had received an invitation from the Sora Empire."
"Wow.... That's cool! Then have fun, Zero!" Yuuki stated with a smile.
Why is she forcing a smile upon herself? I can tell that she is slightly bothered by the fact that I had a relationship with Serenity.
"I'll be going. Kaito's waiting for me outside."
"Kaito Takamiya, as in the vampire hunter?" The headmaster questioned.
It's been awhile since I last saw him, and since he was really close to Serenity in the past, I thought I'd tell him the truth.
Note: Kaito Takamiya appears only in the VK manga, and he is a vampire hunter that used to train with Zero and Ichiru with Yagari as their master.
"Yeah. He's going to be taking me there and accompanying me as well."
"It's been a while since I've seen Kaito..." The headmaster stated.
"Yeah. I saw him yesterday at the Association, and I figured he might want to accompany me. Plus, he knew Serenity as well. He always was close to her when we were children..."
"Really... How interesting. Maybe Serenity-san warmed up his frozen heart?" He said with a laugh.
"Who knows... Well, I'm outta here. I should be back by dawn." I stated, making my way out from the door.
I made my way out of the Headmaster's residence, making my way out from Cross Academy.
As I exited from the Academy, I saw that Kaito was waiting for me outside.
"Took you awhile, Zero."
"I'm here now, aren't I? Let's go." I stated.
The both of us got into the car, and with that, we made our way to the Sora Empire.
~Serenity Tsukiyomi~
The rehearsal concluded and I decided to make my way to the gardens to relax myself.
"Serenity!"
"Yes, Father?"
"Please forgive Kaname."
"Dad, I..."
"I know it's been a long time, and you believed that he broke your heart. But please do not miscalculate that he threw you away and abandoned you. He did his best to protect you that night. Kaname went searching for you, but his sister Yuuki was in danger. He had no choice. He did not want to lose her."
"Heh. I see. So he didn't care if I disappeared, huh..."
My father stayed silent, but later changed the subject.
"You should get ready. The guests are arriving."
"Yes." I answered.
I then made my way near the balcony until Kimura called out to me.
"Serenity-sama, I have brought them here."
Up came someone that I haven't seen in such a long time...
"Zero! Oh my goodness, it's been so long!" I said, giving him a strong embrace.
"It really has been, Serenity...." He said, putting his arms around me.
"...Serenity. You really are alive.." Another voice called out to me.
I looked behind Zero and couldn't believe who was standing before me.
"Kaito!" I called out to him, clasping both my hands with his.
During Zero and Ichiru's vampire hunter training, their master Yagari did bring in a new student. That student was Kaito Takamiya. At that time, I was 11 years old and he was 15. One day, I was crying and I couldn't fall asleep...
*flashback*
"Kaname.... where are you? I miss you so much..." I whispered to myself.
Tears fell from my eyes as I tried to cry myself to sleep.
For some reason, I can't sense his presence near me. Is it because I can't concentrate because of my emotions?
"Hey, miss. Are you alright?"
I quickly wiped my tears and I quickly sat up and smiled.
"I'm fine! Just, uh... allergies, is all!"
"...Level S Purebloods don't have allergies. Are you sure you're okay?"
I looked away.
I then heard footsteps come closer and he ended up sitting next to me.
"I'm Kaito Takamiya. What's your name?"
"I'm Serenity Tsukiyomi..."
"Serenity... What a very unique and beautiful name. So you are the princess of the Sora Empire. Why aren't you there?"
"..."
Just thinking of the Sora Empire itself reminds me of Kaname...
"...I'm waiting for someone."
"Who?" He asked.
I stayed quiet and looked away with a sad expression.
"Stop it." He stated with a slightly angry face.
"Stop what?" I asked.
"Stop being so sad and lonely like that. It's really contagious you know." Kaito stated.
"Really..."
"A smile always fits a beautiful girl like you. So smile for us. You are worrying both Zero and Ichiru, and now you have me involved as well..."
"Kaito-san..."
"I will make you smile again. But for now, I'm going to stay here until you fall asleep. Stop crying, alright?"
Why is he being so nice to him after we just met? If I'm not mistaken, he's Kaito Takamiya, a vampire hunter. He was forced to kill his brother, who had just become a Level E. Why is he sympathizing with me?
"...Why are you being so kind to me?"
"Because you don't seem like a merciless Pureblood."
"Don't judge a book by its cover. I am a monster, Kaito-san. A beast in human form. I can kill you right now if I wanted to just by looking at you..."
"You don't seem the kind of person to just take lives away when you feel like it. I don't really understand either, but you're so pure..."
"Kaito-san..."
I thought he hated purebloods...
"Now rest, Serenity. Sweet dreams..." Kaito stated, laying me to bed.
I slowly closed my eyes as I felt his warm hand touching my head.
"Thank you.." I whispered.
*Flashback end*
I then felt a warm embrace around me.
"I'm so happy to see you again, after these four years..." Kaito whispered.
I then felt someone pushing us apart.
"All right Kaito that's enough." Zero stated.
"You're still so annoying, Zero." Kaito stated with a smirk.
"And you still cling to Serenity, don't you?" Zero answered.
I laughed. "You guys don't change at all."
"It's time, Serenity!" Rina called over to me with the other 3 behind her.
I nodded.
"Well, I guess it's time. You two should get outside. Kimura, can you escort them outside?" I stated with a smile.
"Right away, Serenity-sama."
"We'll see you outside, Serenity-denka." Zero said with a smirk.
I giggled. "See you out there, Zero."
"Hey, Serenity. I saw your husband within the audience." Azusa stated.
Kaname is here...?
I took a deep breath and slowly breathed out. Everything is going to be fine. I just have to act cold towards him. My relationship with him is just going to be business-related.
"Level A's, aristocrats, and even vampire hunters. I would like to welcome you all to this ceremony. Tonight, we are going to reveal the representatives of the five Level S kingdoms. These 5 will be the only ones that will be able to leave their kingdoms and represent their respective kingdoms in meetings outside of the kingdoms. As the Emperor of the Sora Empire, it is my pleasure to reveal to you all these representatives. They have prepared themselves for this day and have worked hard..."
My father did say he would let me mentally prepare for this, so they will announce the Sora Empire's representative last.
"Please welcome the new representative of the Mizu Kingdom, Prince Azusa Shinji Kuroki, the crowned prince of the Mizu Kingdom!"
"See you out there, guys!" Azusa stated, waving his hand up and making his way to the balcony.
Applause echoed around the area.
"Next, we have the new representative of the Kaze Kingdom, Princess Rina Etsuko Shiraishi, the second princess of the Kaze Kingdom!"
"See you soon, Serenity, everyone!" She said cheerfully, running out to the balcony.
"I'm a bit nervous, guys... I haven't been outside for so long..." I stated in a bit of a nervous tone.
"It's going to be okay. You have us by your side." Satsuki reassured me with a smile.
"That's right. You're going to be okay." Aiko reassured me as well.
"Next we have the new representative of the Tsuchi Kingdom, Princess Aiko Kaori Reizei, the crowned princess of the Tsuchi Kingdom!"
"Remember, Serenity. Just take a few breaths and everything is going to be okay!" Aiko smiled cheerfully, making her way out as well.
The remaining ones were Satsuki and I.
"Don't worry about this. After tonight, everyone will know of your existence and everything will be better."
I sighed. "I guess so..."
"Next, we have the new representative of the Hi Kingdom, Prince Satsuki Naoki Ryuzaki, the second prince of the Hi Kingdom!"
"I'll see you out there, Serenity-denka." He said putting his hand on my shoulder.
I nervously began playing with the wedding ring on my finger. You can do this, Serenity. You are the princess of the Sora Empire. Have some confidence and go forward. I need to do what must be done for my own sake. So that I don't feel the pain that I have felt for these past 10 years...
"And finally....you all might be thinking just who will be the Sora Empire's representative. Well, I would like to tell you all that it will not be my mother, the former queen, Reina Tsukiyomi. We have someone with the blood of the Tsukiyomi family that will succeed her as the new representative of the Sora Empire."
The crowd began chattering, talking about their opinions on who will be the Sora Empire's representative.
I have made my resolve. I will become a representative that will help the Sora Empire to continue thriving.
I then noticed my grandmother was standing by my side.
"I'll see you there, Serenity. I know you will do well for the Sora Empire." She stated with a smile.
I smiled and embraced her tightly. "Thank you..."
She then put her arms around me.
"Now I will be on my way. So that when you go out there, I can give you the medal that the Sora Empire's representative wears on the the day of the ceremony." She said in a gentle voice, breaking the embrace.
"Okay..."
My grandmother then made her way outside.
Here I go...
"I am honored to announce the representative of the Sora Empire, my daughter, Princess Serenity Airi Tsukiyomi Kuran, the crowned princess of the Sora Empire, and my one and only daughter."
Cameras were flashing rapidly once I showed myself.
I slowly made my way out to the balcony and once everyone saw my face, all their eyes widened. Zero and Kaito were smiling at me, but the one that was the most surprised of all was Kaname.
My grandmother put the medal around me and smiled. "Do your best, Representative Tsukiyomi." She stated.
"I will." I stated confidently.
The five of us stood proudly upon the balcony.
"Please give another round of applause for our five representatives!" My father stated.
~play the music~
I looked over at Kaname, who had his eyes on me the entire time.
"Of course, we need to call him here up as well! My daughter's protector and husband, Kaname Kuran! Come on up here!"
No...please. Just don't.
The crowd made a path for him. As he walked here, he had his eyes on me the entire time.
The next thing I knew, I felt his arms around me.
"Serenity-denka..." He whispered.
Oh, how long has it been since I last heard him say that to me...?
But I cannot be like this! He...he left me! And he thinks he can get away with this?! For now, just for the sake of publicity, I'll let him do this... for now.
"Kaname-sama..." I whispered, putting my arms around him.
