14th Night: Eiji and Shizuka

~Aito Hiroi~

Before me stood a woman that resembled that of a goddess. Her long, silky brown hair had become that of a dark red, and her eyes had become golden. Fear began to run through me, and unconsciously, I began to step back.

"Oh-ho... Now you're scared of me? I should have done this a long time ago..." Hinata had said, stepping closer to me.

That bastard Mitsuru was behind Ichio, threatening to kill him if he made a move.

"Well, I guess since you tried to bring suffering to my family, I guess I'll be doing the same. I'm going to turn you into a Level D... And you are going to go through a great deal of pain...." She said.

"Oh, really? What will you do to me? You really aren't going to hurt your ex-lover, aren't you?"

"Hah. Now you're asking for mercy? But... I guess I can keep you alive. However..."

Hinata walked a bit closer to me.

"You are going to suffer so much, Aito.... You are going to regret the day you decided to mess with a Royal Pureblood... I'm going to make you starve to death, and you will just become a mindless Level E..."

I took out my weapon and prepared to fight her. How was this even possible? I injected her with a serum so that she is unable to use her powers... How could have this happened?

"You really wouldn't hurt me, right Hinata? I love you...And you love me, right ? It doesn't have to end this way... We can have our happy ending. Just please give me another chance and I promise I'll make you happy..."

She kneeled in front of me, causing me to drop my weapon.

"You and I would have never had a happy ending. Your actions deserve punishment... And I'll say it one last time. You never loved me. You were nothing but obsessed with me."

No, no..... I love Hinata. I love her... And if I can't have her, then no one can!

I then got my weapon and was on the verge of stabbing her, however, when her hand touched my weapon, it immediately became pieces of dust. After that, I felt nothing but pain on my neck.

"Fuck, what the hell are you-"

Then I realized that Hinata's intentions were to transform me into a vampire and let me rot away.

"Tch..."

I agonized in pain. At least there is one good thing that comes out of this: I get to be bitten by the woman that I love.

As soon as she retracted her fangs, she looked at me and smirked.

"Your blood is disgusting." She said, standing up as she wiped it away.

I held my neck as I continued to agonize in the pain, and Hinata and Mitsuru both disappeared from my sight.

"Aito, are you alright?" Ichio had asked me.

I could not answer. Not with the pain that is spreading throughout my body. The desire to drink blood had begun to take action and my eyes had glowed red.

"Fuck, how dare she do this..." I said angrily.

~Hinata Kuran~

"Wow, I cannot believe that you actually accessed your true form, Hina!" Mitsuru said in an excited tone as we ran through the hallway of the villas to catch up with the others.

"Well, I'm glad I was able to. It was all about just being calm. I'm glad I was escape from his disgusting clutches."

Mitsuru then stopped and embraced me tightly.

"I'm so happy to see that you're alright, Hina... I was so worried when I found out that you were here, trying to stop those brothers. You should have asked me to come with you..." Mitsuru said in a worried but relieved tone.

"It just happened all of a sudden. I decided to leave with my father to help him regain his memories."

"Please, don't ever worry me again..." Mitsuru whispered.

"I'm sorry. I never intended to." I answered him as the both of us had begun walking to meet with the others.

"So, how's my father? Is he well? Did he regain his memories?" I asked.

"I don't know. I arrived during the night of the ball. I just saw your father briefly, and we really didn't discuss a lot. All of us were more concerned with saving you. Although, you could have escaped just fine..."

I giggled, covering my lips with my hand.

"Although, it would be taxing to have to face Kei, since he and I are of the same power... It would be best if I avoid that disaster." I answered.

As we had made it to the villa's living room, it was already brought apart. Serenity, Kaname, and the others had already brought down the low-level vampires, and the only ones that the stood in the front of Sara, Rido, and Kei.

"Well, well... It seems like we really should have kept you on lockdown, Princess Hinata. How surprising is it that you were able to access your vampire powers, being powerless and all...How sad...Serenity's own daughter can access her powers, while Serenity herself can't even control her powers." Kei said, with a smirk on his face.

Serenity glared at him. "Do you think that I care whether I can access my true form or not? What matters right now protecting my people." She answered.

I then noticed that my father was not in the room at all. However, I can't just ask Serenity where he is in front of our enemies... I'm going to have to concern myself with that later. Right now, we have to take care of these guys.

Then Ichio had arrived, with a passed out Aito.

"Hinata here decided to turn him into a vampire. I have no idea what to do with him." Ichio stated.

Akio looked at me with such an expression of hatred and disgust.

"You little bitch...How dare you!" He said angrily, running up to my with his vampire slayer weapon, which was an axe.

I sighed in annoyance, and pulled his entire body away using telekinesis.

"Please don't stress me out already as I already am, Akio. Your brother got what he deserved."

"Hina... I'm glad to see that you're doing okay." Serenity said with a smile.

"Of course I'm okay! Who do you think I am?"  I said cheerfully.

Kaname chuckled.

"We're outta here." Kei said as he, Sara, Rido, Akio, and Ichio departed as Kei lifted his hand and eventually disappeared from sight.

"Damn it!" Serenity called out in annoyance.

"At least we were able to rescue Hina-san. That is the most important thing that we got out of this." Kaname said.

"Actually, I was able to get a bonus." Azusa said, who had Toma, who he had managed to capture.

"Tch..." Toma answered in an annoyed tone.

"So that is your true form, huh... You look so pretty, Hina!" Aiko stated cheerfully.

"Hehe... Really? Thanks...." I answered, as I scratched the back of my head.

I powered down to my normal form as my hair and eyes reverted back to their normal color, and I was back in the clothing that I was originally wearing.

"Interesting! You managed to catch a part of the trash." Satsuki said, glaring at Toma.

I looked around the room, as I searched for my father.

"Where's my father?" I asked as I looked around the room.

"Outside with the others. He said his head hurt a bit, so he went outside to get fresh air." Rina replied.

My eyes widened. "Could he have remembered....?"

I turned around, and Mitsuru and I both went outside, and as we did, I noticed my father and Zero were having some sort of confrontation. The other aristocrats from Cross Academy were there as well.

"You never change, Kuran! You are as dull as you have always been!" Zero said in an angry tone.

I looked a bit confused. I noticed my father was calmly standing against a tree, having a conversation with Zero.

Zero noticed our presence and stepped away, knowing that Father most likely wanted to speak to Mitsuru and I alone.

"Hinata, Mitsuru. Perfect timing. We must go our separate ways from everyone and search for the Hiroi twins. Everything is going to soon begin. Their next target is Cross Academy."

My eyes widened.

"Cross Academy?"

Father closed his eyes.

"Yes. I remember everything. What happened to me... To Serenity... and we must do what we can to make sure that the future isn't changed. That is the goal of the Hiroi twins. And we must stop them. That was our other reason for coming here, wasn't it?"

"Father...."

"From a distance, we will protect Serenity and myself from the past. And.... they are targeting Serenity as well. The Vampire Hunters and Vampire Slayers, that is. Ichio has teamed up with the Vampire Hunter Association President, and their wish is to kill Serenity."

"Then shouldn't we do something about it? Shouldn't we tell them?" Mitsuru asked.

Father shook his head.

"No. We cannot. Their decisions created the future that exists today. And since we are a part of that future, we cannot interfere with their decisions. However, we can help without affecting their decisions."

"But...are we just going to leave them without saying anything?" I asked.

My father nodded.

"It isn't goodbye. We will see them one last time before we depart back home. Because once we leave this time, they will not remember meeting us. That's just how time works..." My father said with a sigh.

"Kiryu," Father said as he turned around.

"What?"

"Do tell Serenity and the others that we are going separate ways for now. That we apologize that we must leave at a short notice. But all of you must go through this on your own, since you are the ones that created the future that your future selves are going to exist in."

Zero sighed.

"If this is what you all want, I ain't stopping ya. I'll tell the present Kuran and Serenity that you guys left." He replied.

"Hinata, Mitsuru, shall we depart?" Father said.

The three of us then departed as we walked away into the shadows of the night.

~Serenity Tsukiyomi~

I sighed in relief after discovering that Hina was safe and sound. The living room within the villa was a disaster, and the only one that we managed to capture was Toma.

"We'll take him into the Mizu Kingdom for questioning. I'm sure we'll get him to open his mouth, and tell us what their next plan is..." Azusa answered in an angered tone.

Kaname, Aiko, Satsuki, Rina, Azusa, and I, along with a captured Toma, made our way outside of the villa, where we met with the Aristocrats, Zero, and Kaito.

"Hey guys!" I said, calling out to them.

"Hey, Serenity. Took care of the situation in there?" Kaito asked.

I nodded my head. "Yes, they managed to escape, however we managed to get Toma. We're taking him to the Mizu Kingdom for further questioning."

"We're gonna make him tell us everything. And if not, we'll immediately execute him." Azusa replied in a malicious tone, which scared Toma a bit.

I then noticed that Ichijo-san and the other aristocrats from the Night Class were out here as well. As soon as Ichijo-san noticed us, he quickly approached us, making his way over to Aiko.

"Are you alright, Reizei-san?"

"Yes, I'm fine, Ichijo-san. Thank you for worrying." She replied with a smile.

I smiled at the sight of the both of them. Actually, last night, back in the Kaze Castle, Aiko had pulled me out of my room, asking me to have a conversation with her in the castle's balcony.

As we were walking to the nearby Mizu Kingdom, I thought about my conversation with Aiko last night.

~flashback~

Aiko and I stood outside of the Kaze Kingdom's balcony, as the sun slowly began to rise.

"So what brings us out here?" I asked curiously.

"Just wanted to get something out of my chest." Aiko replied.

"Really? It didn't seem like you were hiding anything in the first place."

"It's nothing bad, really... It's just that I-"

"You like someone, am I right?" I asked her with a smirk.

"I don't want to say that... I met him recently..." Aiko said as a small red blush formed on her face.

I giggled. "Love is filled with a great deal of mysterious feelings... I for one, am someone who believes strongly in love at first sight... Look at me. Right from the moment I met Kaname, I did feel something for him. But I was just a child, so I did not know the full meaning of loving someone else but my parents... I just want to ask you. Do you love Takuma?"

"Like you said, love is a strong word. Maybe 'like' is a more appropriate term..." She replied.

"I guess that can be a start. You have that desire for him to be by your side, right?"

"Hehe, I guess so."

"I've noticed that Takuma has had his eye on you, but I just haven't said anything... To be honest, I think the entire Night Class knows that you have a major crush on him. Even Kaito noticed that you two were eyeing each other. " I said with a smirk.

"Ugh, how embarrassing..." Aiko responded as she looked up to the sky.

"If you believe that your feelings are mutual, then spend more time with him. Maybe your relationship with him will grow." I reassured her.

"Hehe... I guess I'll think about it. So I heard..." Aiko said.

"So you heard what?" I asked.

"...You're Shizuka Hio's daughter."

My eyes widened as she had declared that statement.

"How-"

"Actually, Rina knew, and told me only. The Hio family once served the Shiraishi family, after all. They knew everything. They knew that she had feelings for your father, Eiji. And...the fact that you were created to become an heiress to the throne of Sora Empire."

I sighed in response to her statement.

"You know, my parents have always told me that they love me, but that I could never abdicate from the throne since I am the only remaining Tsukiyomi heiress. Even though the Kurans have the opportunity to take the throne should the Tsukiyomi family perish, my father prefers that that should not happen. Plus, my biological mother did terrible things. She killed Zero's family... I can't believe her blood runs through my veins..."

"What I still wonder is what led to your father and Shizuka Hio's relationship... How in the world did they even meet?"

"Huh... Beats me. I wonder why my father never told me any of this. And the question that remains in my mind is if he really loved her..."

"I'm sure Emperor Eiji will tell you when the time is ripe." Aiko replied.

"Yeah, I guess so..."

~end of flashback~

I wonder why Father decided to hide that from me. Sure, Shizuka is a monster. She killed Zero's parents... But I believe that I had the right to know that that monster of a woman is related to me...

For a time I stayed in my thoughts, thinking back to when I was a child. Sakura treated me like I was her daughter. Most likely, Shizuka was my father's mistress, and they conceived me. If my father won't tell me, I'm sure my biological mother will. I'm going to have to confront her when the time comes...

"Anyways, where is Hina? I haven't seen her since we left the villa." I asked curiously.

"She left along with Kuran and Mitsuru. They went their separate ways, and decided to help us from a distance. They stated to us that the decisions that we make create the future that they currently exist in." Kaito responded.

"Oh..."

"But they did say that they were going to come back, so that is something to look forward to!" Takuma replied cheerfully.

"Ridiculous...All of you are idiots.."

"Shut the hell up, or I'll kill you right here. I would give you no mercy." Azusa replied in a disgusted tone.

Toma actually showed fear and shut his mouth.

I noticed that Kaname was in his thoughts, and I was a bit concerned to why exactly he was acting this way, but he hasn't spoken since we left the villa.

"Kaname, are you alright?" I asked him.

"I am fine... Why do you ask?"

"Because you've been quiet for the past 30 minutes we've been walking, that's why?"

"Serenity, Kaname is always quiet. He's the most quiet one!" Takuma answered.

"Really? How interesting, because when he and I are together, he can be quite talkative."

Kaname was quiet in response, however, I had noticed that there was a slight blush on his face.

"Aw, Kaname, you're so cute when you blush~"

"Serenity, don't embarrass me...." He replied in a nervous, but low tone.

The Night Class aristocrats were surprised at Kaname's response, and half of them tried to hold back their laughter.

"Wait until we get somewhere . I'm going to punish you like there is no tomorrow, my dear."

"Eh?!"

The others seemed to notice, since Kaito was the first to point out my blushed cheeks.

"Ohh, you two are flirting using telekinesis, huh... Hah. They are most likely planning what they are going to do later..." Azusa said with a smirk.

"We were certainly no-"

"You guys are pointing out at Kaname and Serenity, but why don't you guys also look at the fact that Ichijo and Reizei are walking a bit of a distance behind from us?" Akatsuki replied.

I turned around and noticed that the both of them were having a conversation. They were smiling, and I had noticed that Aiko had a faint blush on her cheeks. I smiled, as I thought back to yesterday's conversation with Aiko.

"Why don't those two just kiss already?" Rina asked with a sigh.

"They're both shy, I guess." I replied with a giggle.

~Aiko Reizei~

As we were making our way to the Mizu Kingdom, I noticed that Ichijo-kun was quiet, looking up to the beautiful moon up in the sky.

"Beautiful evening, isn't it?" I asked him.

"Y-yes.... It is." He replied.

"Are you alright?" I asked him in a curious tone.

"Reizei-san. No... Aiko." He called out to me.

I blushed when he had called me by my first name.

"When we make it to the Mizu Kingdom and , I want you meet me at the waterfall near the castle. There is something that I want to tell you. But I-I can't tell when everyone else is right here..." He whispered.

"S-Sure...." I replied with a slight blush on my face.

"Anyways, are you sure you are alright?" He asked me.

"Yeah. I am...."

There was a bit of awkward silence between us, and we had heard nothing but everyone's footsteps.

We had soon begun to see the ocean, and covered by the fog within the ocean, we saw the Mizu Kingdom.

"Welcome to the Mizu Kingdom, everyone." Azusa stated.

"I don't see anything." Zero stated in an annoyed tone.

"There is a kingdom here? I see nothing but the ocean." Kaito replied.

"Interesting face about my kingdom here: Only us high-class vampires and the citizens can see the Mizu Kingdom." Azusa stated with a smirk.

"And why is that?" Zero asked.

"Because... We don't want any uninvited guests." Azusa replied with a smirk.

We all then transported to the kingdom, and found ourselves in the town of Auga, the kingdom's capital.

"Wow...Now I haven't been here in such a long time. It's so beautiful.." Serenity said as she looked around excitedly.

The Mizu Kingdom is known to the the most beautiful kingdom of the four kingdoms, since it was a kingdom completely surrounded by crystal clear water. It's basically an island where technology is slowly, but steadily advancing.

Serenity's been locked in a castle for so long, so she really hasn't seen these places in so long... I want her to live a happy life. And I pray that Kaname does everything in his power to make her happy. Within the good times and the bad.

I looked over at her and I noticed how Kaname had his arm around her waist as she smiled happily.

If Serenity is happy with him, then I'll be happy.

I smiled at them.

"I haven't been here in so long either.... The last time I came here, I was with my grandfather..." Ichijo said as he looked around."

"Yo, Ryuzaki. Hold this trash for me." Azusa said, pushing Toma over to him.

"Whatever." Satsuki replied, grabbing the handcuffed Toma.

As we walked through the town of Auga, one thing that I had noticed was the idea that Azusa was being so casual with his people.

"Hey, guys!"

"Prince Azusa! We've got some fresh handpicked fruits for ya to take to the castle!" One of the townspeople said, holding out of basket of fruits to Azusa.

"Aw, thanks man! These look super delicious. I'm sure my parents are going to love them as well!." Azusa replied cheerfully.

"Look! It's Lord Kaname and Princess Serenity!" One of the townspeople called out to them.

"Serenity-denka looks so beautiful..." A male townsperson said as he looked at Serenity and Kaname.

"She and Kaname-sama look so nice together..." Another townsperson replied.

"To think that she has been alive this entire time... I wonder why she decided to keep herself hidden up until now...." Another replied.

"Who knows.... But to be honest, I've never seen Lord Kaname so happy ever since Haruka and Juuri-sama passed away..."

"They are right about that." Ichijo-san said, who was also listening to the conversation.

"About Kaname?"

"Yes. At that time, he lost both of them... And Serenity disappeared. It was so much for him to take in. He hid it from everyone, but I remember seeing him all the time in the library, just reading a book. He was an emotionless shell. He had Yuuki-chan, and that did make him smile way more, but with Serenity, now he's slowly but steadily beginning to be more open towards others." Ichijo-san replied.

"I'm just happy that Serenity is smiling again." I replied.

Ichijo smiled at my reply.

"Yes. Now it's our turn to finally find our very own happiness..." He mumbled.

Despite him trying to say it in a tone that I can barely hear, I heard his words clearly.

"Hm, yeah. You're right, Ichijo-san."

"Aiko, please. You don't have to call me Ichijo-san. Call me Takuma." He reassured me with a smile.

"Um."

"I-If you don't want to, it's fine! It's just that... Since I'm calling you Aiko and all, I just thought that-"

"Takuma..."

As soon as I had said that, I noticed that his cheeks became a light red.

"You..."

"Of course I did, idiot. You just should have said so, and I would have started calling you it before!"

Takuma didn't say a word after, since it was obvious that he was nervous.

I think I have a bit of an idea to what he wants to say to me. And I... I know my answer.

~Kaname Kuran~

As the people of the Mizu Kingdom were greeting us, I think back to the previous night when I had what I considered a nightmare.

I found myself within the Sora Castle's garden, and nothing but fog surrounded the area. The owls were hooting, and the flowers were swaying as the wind gently pulled them.

"I knew I should have never trusted you..." A familiar voice echoed.

I turned around and met with Serenity, who was standing a bit of a distance from me.

"Serenity...?" I called out to her in a questioned tone as I stepped closer to her.

"Keep away from me, liar!"

I was a bit confused by her tone of voice, yet I still continued making my way over to her.

"Serenity, what is wrong? This isn't-"

"You freed Shizuka and caused Zero's family great pain. How can you do that?!"

I stopped in my tracks as my bangs covered my eyes.

"It is a long story. One that you don't need to worry about." I replied.

"Oh, really? Why? Does it have to do with your precious Yuuki?"

I didn't reply.

"I knew it... Honestly, this relationship between us isn't going to work. Just leave, and go with your precious sister."

"Serenity, I thought we had discussed this, I thought-"

"Just disappear from my life, Kaname. Stop making it worse for me. You love Yuuki, and you would do anything for her. You freed Shizuka for her sake. Every sin you committed was for her! Just admit it already and we can happily move on with our lives!"

She turned around.

"You don't have to say anything... Goodbye, Kaname."

"Serenity!"

I woke up, only to find out that it was a dream.

I looked to my side, and noticed that Serenity was not there...

Where is she?! I really hope she did not find this out yet. I have my intentions to tell her, but I believe that now is not the time to be telling her these things.

I noticed that beads of sweat were falling from my forehead.

"Serenity.... Serenity... I'm sorry.. truly, I am. Please don't leave me again."

As if on cue, the door opened, revealing Serenity, who was still in her nightgown, with a jacket over it. She took it off, and noticed that I was awake.

"Kaname, what's wrong? You look a bit paler than you usually do."

I smiled at her. "I thought you had left me...I was a bit worried."

"I never will leave you again, Kaname. What made you think that?" Serenity asked as she came back into bed with me.

I stayed silent.

"It's alright... I'm here, Kaname." She whispered as she got closer to me and got comfortable within my arms.

Serenity....

"Kaname. I sense guilt within your heart. What is the matter?"

"It's nothing. Something of the past that haunts me. Right now.. I just want you in my arms, Serenity."

"Okay...." She whispered as she slowly began to fall asleep.

~End of flashback~

I don't want to lose her again. I love Serenity, and I always will, for all eternity.

I held her hand a bit tighter, and she looked at me and smiled happily with her eyes closed.

You truly are my beloved, Serenity Tsukiyomi...

~Third person PoV~

"Lord Kei, is Aito going to be alright?" Akio asked in a worried tone as he looked at his brother, who was bedridden, with his face all pale.

"He needs blood, immediately. I guess it won't hurt to give him some of mine."

Aito's eyes open as his eyes glow red, gasping.

"Blood... I need it.... Hinata's... now..."

"Princess Hinata isn't here, but my blood will have to suffice. She and I are family, after all." Kei responded, as he sat on the bed next to him.

Kei had unbuttoned his shirt up to his neck and exposed it to Aito. He then pulled Aito over to his neck, giving him access to his blood.

"Brother, please take his blood. You cannot die here. We still have a mission here, after all." Akio stated.

As if in agreement, Aito's fangs had grown and he bit into Kei's neck.

"Now not only do we have a duty to bring down the Hi Kingdom, now I must get my revenge on that despicable Hinata. I don't care if Aito still has his little obsession with her, I want revenge one way or another."

Aito then finished taking Kei's brother, and he spoke in between breaths.

"No...don't kill Hinata....I want....that Mitsuru....gone. Dead....I want her....to....feel the pain that I felt....after she rejected...me."

"You're such an idiot, Brother. That obsession with Hinata gets worse every day. You'll never have her now that she has access to her true form."

"I'm going to take away her confidence.... She's mine... mine! She was mine to begin with, and now that I'm a vampire, she'll be mine eternally."

"How can you know that? She will never give you her blood. She said it herself. She is going to leave you to rot." Akio stated with his arms crossed.

"She is now your master, Aito. If she orders you to do something, instinctually, you will end up following her orders, whether you want to or not. So you do not have any dominance over her." Kei explained.

He smirked. "I'm still bonded to her... I have a connection with her. She knows it as well..."

"This is bad," Kei stated.

"And why is that, Kei-sama?"

"His desire for Hinata will grow even more. Although Hinata can stop him, his feelings will get the best of him, and may affect his abilities."

"Don't you worry, it will not. I want to destroy the Hi Kingdom, and assure that it will not have a future." He said with a smirk.

"If those are still your intentions, then I won't care what you do with Hinata. But don't let that get in the way of our plans." Akio replied in a serious tone.

"It won't." Aito replied as he laid back in bed.

"I'm so freakin' tired.... I'm going back to take a nap." He added as he went closed his eyes and went back to sleep.

Akio sighed. "So what's next?"

"I'm ordering the Hunter Society President to order his Vampire Slayer and followers to go to Cross Academy and kill Serenity."

"Kill Serenity...? Why don't I take care of that?" Shizuka said, as she appeared from the shadows of the room.

"Shizuka Hio.... Serenity's biological mother. You want to kill your child...?" Kei asked with a smirk.

"Yes, I'm cutting off my connections with Eiji one way or another."

"Shizuka, I suggest you think about committing an action like that. Killing your own daughter....? Not even I would even think of doing that to my child if I had one. We'll take care of it."

"I did not raise her, nor was I ever with her." She replied.

"But you gave birth to her, and you had her in your arms, don't you remember? I was there for her birth, after all. I saw how happy you were having her in her arms. Actually, I can speak for everyone that that was the first time in many years that a genuine smile came off of you."

Shizuka smirked. "That was eighteen years ago, Kei. Serenity despises me and wants me dead because I just happened to kill the family of her childhood friend."

"And it just so happens that that vampire male that was imprisoned with you resembled Eiji a great deal. That was why you were so angry when the Kiryus killed him, isn't that correct? You love my brother, and you just can't seem to get over him. That's why you're desperate to kill your own flesh and blood? Your child? I think Serenity really does care about you. If she didn't she could have just killed you on the spot." Kei replied.

Ichiru was standing a bit of a distance from them, listening to the conversation. Ichiru loves Shizuka, but he knows that she does not love him back. She told him the story about Eiji, and how she had given birth to Serenity, who was his child. Once he knew that Serenity, who was the daughter of the one he loves, he made an attempt to give up on Shizuka.

"Serenity has grown up to be a very beautiful young lady. It is unfortunate how things have to turn out for her. However, they all must fall."

"Surely, you have a purpose for all of this, don't you Kei?" Shizuka asked curiously.

"I just believe that we Royal Purebloods should not have the authority simply because we are at the top of the pyramid. There is no reason for the five kingdoms, and I just believe that Purebloods, as our protectors, should protect us by taking leadership of the vampires."

"You're willing to sacrificing anything? Wow. I never knew this part of you, Kei."

"Well, you do now. I ain't gonna stop you if you want to kill Serenity, but she's your child. And whether you like it or not, you cannot kill her like she cannot kill you."

Shizuka sighed.

"Think twice before you end up doing something that you'll regret. You may want to kill your daughter, but you simply cannot when you have the chance. If you want to settle things once and for all, settle them with Eiji. If you want to make her suffer, then help us bring down the the Sora Empire. The Vampire Slayer working within the castle will take care of her life."

"Who is this Vampire Slayer, anyways?"

"An ex-human working for the Tsukiyomi family. I believe he is related to the Hiroi twins. He is their distant grandfather, I presume..."

"I'll help you bring down the Sora Empire, Kei. No matter what, she will suffer and die within her own kingdom. However, I want her to die knowing my relationship with Eiji, and the reason behind her birth."

"Do what you must, mother of Serenity. And you in the back? You seem conflicted, boy. Surprised? That the woman that you love is the mother of your childhood friend?" Kei asked Ichiru.

Ichiru did not respond, because he knew that Kei's statement was on point.

"Your silence must be a yes, but unfortunately, I sense that Shizuka here still has something for my little brother." Kei replied.

A shadow was cast over Shizuka's eyes, and she had already departed the room, leaving Ichiru behind.

Ichiru turned around, and followed behind her from a distance, leaving Kei, Akio, and a sleeping Aito alone.

"That was Hinata's grandmother? I'm surprised. Didn't know she was that conniving."

"Shizuka Hio has been imprisoned since birth because of her rich blood and the fact that her family is known to be the ones that lose control. However, at a certain point, she was freed by the former princess of Kaze Kingdom, who was Rena Shiraishi. About nineteen years ago, the Hio family was the ones in charge of protecting the Shiraishi family. About a year later, everything changed when my brother fell in love with Shizuka. But that's a story that was put away because of what the result was."

Akio wanted to know what exactly had happened, but he was far more worried about his brother than to worry about other people's family problems.

~Serenity Tsukiyomi~

After greeting the King and Queen of the Mizu Kingdom, and explained to them Toma's situation, it was decided by them that his trial would be held tomorrow. Before the trial, he was going to pull information out from him, in case he gets the death sentence.

We were then shown to our rooms and as soon as Kaname and I entered our room, Kaname closed the door, locked it, and kissed me on the lips with desire, then bringing his lips down from my jaw to my neck, where he began kissing different spots on my neck.

"Kaname."

To be honest, I really am not feeling it tonight.

Kaname stopped and looked at me a bit confused.

"Is something wrong, beloved?" He asked as he caressed my cheek.

I gently put my hand over his, which was on my cheek. "Not tonight. I'm a bit tired."

Not really true, it's just the fact that Shizuka Hio is my mother is taking a while to sink in, and there's just so much going on... I really want to know that happened between her and my father...

"I'm sorry, Serenity. There is so much going on, and here I am-"

"No, honestly, if circumstances were different, I would have loved to make love with you right now, but after just finding out that I have a monster for a mother that took the life of Zero's parents."

Kaname gave me a kiss on the forehead.

"Thanks for understanding, Kaname. I am going to go and take a bath."

"All right." He replied.

I had made my way to the adjourned bathroom, and filled up the bathtub with warm water, and then added bubble soap once it was filled up.

Once everything was set, I did a bun on my hair, I slipped out of my dress, bra, and underwear and sat down in the tub.

I have to say, the water here in the Mizu Kingdom works wonders... It feels more refreshing and therapeutic.

I sat back and closed my eyes.

However, a vision showed itself in front of me, and for a time, everything was dark.

~play the song~

My vision adjusted itself and I found myself in front of the gates to Sora Castle.

What? Wasn't I just in the bathtub...?

I then noticed that Queen Rena was walking into the castle along with a familiar face, who was dressed in a kimono. That's Shizuka... She looks so different dressed in that pink kimono...

"Princess Rena...Who's getting married?" Shizuka asked curiously.

"Prince Eiji and Princess Sakura."

"I see." She replied.

"Shizuka, I'm sure you didn't want to come, I apologize. I'll go congratulate them, have some drinks, and we'll be back in the Kaze Kingdom in no time."

"It is fine, Princess Rena. Take your time and enjoy yourself. Do not worry about me."

"You sure?"

"I am nothing but your protector. Go on and enjoy yourself. I'll be at the balcony catching some air."

Whoa.... Shizuka is so obedient... I never knew she was once like this..

"Okay..." She replied as the both of them had entered the castle.

Once they had entered the castle, I saw Mom and Dad, and my grandmother Reina.

Mom was happily greeting the guests, however Dad looked bored and annoyed, and had decided to make his way to the balcony to get some fresh air.

So, Dad never loved Sakura...

"Eiji, please." Grandmother Reina called out to him, as he was approaching the balcony.

"Mother, I'm just going to get some fresh air. Calm down. I'm not running away." Dad said in an annoyed tone. Sakura simply continued smiling and greeting the other guests.

Curiously, I followed Dad outside to the balcony, and there was Shizuka, her arms against the railing as she looked up to the full moon in the sky. The wind had gently pulled her white hair, and to be honest, I do resemble her a bit in when looking at her from this perspective...

"Beautiful moon, isn't it?" Dad asked who walked up to her side, looking up as well.

"Prince Eiji... Should you not be in the castle with Princess Sakura?" Shizuka asked, looking at him with her eyes widened.

He sighed in annoyance. "This is an arranged marriage, I have no feeling whatsoever for my little sister. I'm doing this for my people."

"Really.... It must be tough, being the prince of the Sora Empire and having a great deal of responsibility."

"It's all my brother Kei's fault. If he hadn't abdicated from the throne, he could have been the one to marry Sakura and do everything..."

"But since he was the oldest, he was able to do it before you. He loved another woman, am I right? And he had different beliefs than the rest of the Tsukiyomi family..."

"Correct. Shizuka Hio is your name, correct? You're the Shiraishi family's current protector."

"Yes. But, I wanted to be away from all the hustle and bustle inside the castle. It gets really crowded in there. If anything threatening were to arrive, I would sense it immediately." She replied with in her soft voice.

I then noticed that Dad was actually looking at Shizuka. He looked at her with such kind eyes. It's completely different from what I saw back in the ballroom.

"I know this is too much to ask, but do you mind accompanying me for a walk in Shizukesa? I'll ask Haruka to watch over Rena."

"Me? But why-"

"Because I need a companion. It is quite boring to walk alone."

"Of course then. If that is your desire, then I will abide by it."

Eiji smiled.

I then noticed that he was communicating telepathically with Haruka.

"Haruka, mind watching over Princess Rena? I'm going out for a walk and I'm taking Lady Shizuka with me."

"Prince Eiji... You know you cannot leave your engagement ceremony." Haruka replied in a worried tone.

"Don't worry! That's why I have you to vouch for me! I'll be back when the party is close to ending." He replied in a casual tone.

"Yes, Your Highness. And I'll be sure to keep an eye on Princess Rena." He replied with a sigh.

"Thanks, Haruka. I knew I can count on you."

"Let's go enjoy ourselves for a bit, Lady Shizuka. There's lots to do in the town of Shizukesa during this time!" Dad said excitedly, taking her hand, while the both of them jumped from the balcony.

"Yes..." She replied.

I jumped as well, following them as they hid behind a massive bush.

"But... I don't want people to recognize me, so I'll have to disguise myself..."

"Huh?"

Dad then used his powers to change how he looked. His black hair had become brown, and his eyes were a dark red.

"You resemble the Kurans, Your Highness." Shizuka said with a giggle.

"Well, they are the protectors of the Tsukiyomi family after all, so I guess it is natural. And please, Eiji is fine. No need for formalities." He replied with a smirk.

"All right....Eiji." She replied.

The both of them then left the castle, making their way to the town of Shizukesa.

Goodness... Dad really does have an interest in her... He looks so happy, even after just meeting her. Or did they already know each other?

~Kaname Kuran~

I was sitting in bed reading a book, waiting for Serenity to finish. That's strange... she's been in there for quite a while... Maybe I should go check on her.

But then again, I don't wish to invade her privacy...

I sighed and closed my book as I put it on the nightstand to my left.

It's been really quiet in that bathroom... The water hasn't even made a sound. Maybe I should go check on her, just to get this worry off my chest.

I then got out of bed and knocked on the door.

"Serenity? Are you alright in there? You've been there for a while, I just want to know if you are alright." I asked in a bit of a worried tone.

No response.

"Oh, goodness..." I whispered to myself as I immediately opened the door. I saw Serenity passed out in the bathtub.

"Serenity! Are you alright?!" I asked.

I then noticed that she had fallen asleep once I had approached her.

"Ah, she fell asleep..."

She was sound asleep, and she did not notice my presence at all. She can't sleep in here...

"Beloved, wake up."

She did not respond, and I sighed.

"Looks like I'm going to have to get you out of here myself, my rose."

I then took her out of the tub, dried her up and got her dressed into her nightgown. I'm guessing the bun on her hair is uncomfortable, so I'll just take it off...

After that, I tucked her in bed, and let her rest.

"And here you were, saying that you weren't tired." I said to her in a soft chuckle.

~Third person PoV, unknown place~

Yuuki opened her eyes, finding herself in a cell, chained in both her wrists and ankles.

"Where am I...." She groaned.

"You're finally awake. I thought you were goin' to be sleeping for ages..." A deep voice stated.

"You!"

The man remained in the darkness, not revealing who he is, but Yuuki knew who this man was.

"You are a liar. You lied to Serenity-san, to Kaname-senpai! How could you?!"

"Ugh, Shut up, animal. I hate people like you. Someone who can not shut the hell up when they are told to." He answered in a disgusted tone.

"Dealing with this family for so many years has been quite a pain. Thank goodness it's over. It was a pleasure..." He said with a sigh as he looked to the direction of the barred windows.

"Who are you?"

"My name? You know it."

"That isn't your real name." She replied.

"Haha! For a dumb idiot, you're smart. But for knowing, I'll tell you my initials: A.H. The name that everyone knows me by is my middle name. Idiots. Seriously being a Vampire Slayer is worth it. Finally I get to kill a Royal Pureblood after so long.... My hands are just itching to take out my weapon and kill..."

"You're a monster!"

"And you are a disgusting whore that wants the affection of two men."

"Hey! That's not-"

"Shut the hell up, swine. You are staying here. I am going to lure your precious prince over here to get him away from his princess. Once that is taken care of, I'll kill her." He replied with a smirk.

"You-"

"I was hired to by the Association President after all. But money is money and I could care less what happens to the Sora Empire."

Yuuki was afraid. Afraid of what this man is going to do to her. He had taken Artemis from her, and she had no way to escape. The only thing she can hope for is that someone comes and saves her....
