13th Night: The Power Within

Note: This is "Season 2" of His Princess, and this is where things are really going to happen :D

New opening song: To the Beginning by Kalafina

Will one last miracle come to pass?

A gentle voice paints a twisted future

For the sake of a world where nobody will cry

Before reaching the crimson-stained sky

My cries and prayers fade and disappear

I can go on, abandoning all consolation

The beautiful moonlight shines towards the beginning and vanishes

into the distance

I'll continue to reach out as my eyes are gradually closed

I believe in your sorrow....

~Kaname Kuran~

Our group had made it to the Kaze Kingdom, and we were immediately welcomed by the people within the town. We took the horses to the castle's stables and I had already realized that Serenity was sleeping soundly on my back, resting.

It was been a long ride... We were on these horses for two hours without stopping. I took the sleeping Serenity in my arms and she moved a bit, slowly opening her eyes.

"Kaname?"

I smiled.

"We've arrived at the Kaze Kingdom."

"Oh, I must have dozed off on the ride here..."

I let Serenity down and she looked around curiously.

"Everyone, I hereby welcome you all to the Kaze Kingdom!" Rina said cheerfully.

The Kaze Kingdom is the neighboring kingdom of the Sora Empire. Two hours away from the town of Shizukesa, the Kaze Kingdom is within the woods. Tall trees keep the town of Hana secluded while Kaze Castle was not too distant from the town itself. The citizens of Kaze Kingdom rely on nature, and here, the royal Shiraishi family is more involved with the people.

"Rina-denka has returned!" One of the villagers called out.

"And there are many others with her as well! And look! It's the Lightning Princess!"

"In person, she's so pretty... And look, Kaname-sama is by her side as well!"

"I wonder how he felt when he found out that his wife was alive..." Another said.

Many of the villagers were looking at us, their  eyes never wavering. Most of them were looking at Serenity. She had a majestic appearance, despite the casual clothing that she was wearing.

But the truth is... I believed that she was gone. I thought she was dead. But something deep inside of me always yearned for her.

Her love, her touch... Every single aspect.

I have to admit, ever since Serenity and I have reconciled and become a true married couple, I realized that my desire for her has grown a great deal.

It's not just her body, but her soul as well. To be honest, ever since I found out that Hina was our daughter from the future, I was filled with a great deal of happiness.

I looked at Serenity, and she was smiling happily, waving her hand to the villagers.

The town had become lively after our appearance, and we had eventually passed the gates that let us into Kaze Castle.

~Serenity Tsukiyomi~

"Serenity~!" Rina's mother, Rena, had cheerfully called out to us as she and the King, Natsume, were waiting for us at the front doors of the castle.

The Kaze Castle was a bit smaller than the grand Sora Castle, but it was overall, still a beautiful castle. Rena Shiraishi is a very cheerful and open-minded Queen. Basically it's where Rina inherited her personality from, I guess... As for Kaze Kingdom's King, he was a very fair and just ruler who believed in justice. I find that to be the perfect combination to a very successful kingdom.

The Shiraishi family is a family that follows ancient traditions. Since their ancestors are known to follow the Japanese tradition, they wear the traditional noble Japanese clothing.

"Why don't you all come inside and have a seat? It has been a long journey, and I am sure you would all like to get some rest." Natsume stated.

"Yes. Thank you very much, Natsume-sama." Kaname said with a bow.

"Kaname! There is no need for you to be so formal! Or have you forgotten that we are equals now?" King Natsume said in a carefree tone.

"I guess I keep forgetting that I am the prince of a major empire..." Kaname said, scratching his head.

Rena giggled. "Don't worry. We made sure to have a special room for you both."

I slightly blushed at her declaration.

"And there she goes again..." Aiko said with a giggle.

"Every time someone talks about them being alone, Serenity's face turns into different shades of red." Satsuki said with a smirk.

"Hey! No I-"

Kaito then put a hand on my shoulder.

"It's okay, Serenity. They just don't understand what it feels like to be in love." Kaito said cheerfully.

"Heh. Says the one who's holding a torch for her." Zero stated with a smirk on his face.

"Shut up! You were all over her when we were training back in the day! Even Yagari-sensei noticed it."

"You were, as well!" Zero spat.

Kaito and Zero.... had feelings for me?

Kaname's voice then echoed in my head, meaning that he was communicating with me telepathically.

"Sometimes, you can be such a scatterbrain, my dear. I've noticed that Takamiya has feelings for you ever since we had class with him. While he was teaching, I noticed he always had his eye on you. But he knows his limits. As for Kiryu, I had no idea to be honest. I had believed Kiryu had feelings for Yuuki. But I am guessing that that is in the past, since he really does treat you like a friend. I must watch out for Takamiya, however."

I smiled at his statement.

"You know that you are the only one for me, Kaname. I can't love anyone else but you."

"I know that. The same goes for me."  He answered, putting his hand over mine, grasping it tightly, looking at me with a gentle but passionate expression.

"Ahem. We are right here, you know. Save that for when you two find yourselves a room." Azusa said in an annoyed tone.

"Yes, why don't you all come inside and make yourselves comfortable?" Queen Rena said, stepping to the side, motioning us to come in.

Hina, hang in there... We are coming really soon.

~Sora Castle, Third Person PoV~

Sakura had not returned to Eiji's side since their little confrontation, and Eiji had sat on his throne in solitude.

"I don't understand why she is being this way... What happened years ago happened, yet she continues to be bothered by it... This was of course, for the sake of the Sora Empire..."

"Are you entirely sure about that, Eiji...?"

From the shadows of the throne room, entered Maria Kurenai, who was being controlled by Shizuka.

"Why are you still here? I had told you to leave."

"And why must you be so cruel? You were so kind to me once upon a time. You gave me the feeling of love for the first time." She said with a smirk.

"That was...."

"It's over, anyways. You have your wife to worry about. She looked a bit angry when she saw me, after all."

Eiji sighed.

"It's understandable, after all. Serenity isn't her biological daughter, after all. I was in love with you, after all."

Shizuka sighed in response. "You are an utter fool, Eiji. Sakura couldn't have children, meaning that there was no heir to the Sora Empire. You wanted to conceive a child, so you searched for a pureblood or a royal pureblood. Lucky for you, on that night of that ball, you found me, and played with my feelings. A shame. I really loved you, Eiji. It's sad that now I have such a desire to make Serenity suffer."

"I never played with your feelings, Shizuka. That love was real. And why would you think of doing something so...unspeakable?! She's your daughter!"

"Yes, she is. But since she was taken away from me right after I gave birth to her, well, I really did not have the chance to bond with her as much. So, I feel nothing for her....or you, for any matter."

"I...I said those things to you only because I didn't want you to die... I loved you as well, Shizuka. But let's face it. From the start, we knew that this relationship between us was not going to work."

"Really... It wasn't going to work? How so?"

"I was already engaged to Sakura... Everything was already set in stone. I couldn't change anything. Plus, the former Emperor expected me to marry-"

"Hahaha! Really... That is your reason, Eiji? Because of your people, you couldn't change anything? If you truly had loved me, you would give up everything. But.. it seems like you did not. I figured that after I gave birth to Serenity and they had already imprisoned me."

"Really... I didn't love you, huh... You say that, but at least I didn't sentence you to death after giving birth to our daughter.  If I didn't care for you, as you are telling me right now, then I would have told them to kill you. But no. I didn't want you to be killed. I wanted you to at least survive, and move on from me. But I guess that sounds cruel, huh...."

"It's not like I care anymore, Eiji. When I was imprisoned, I found a new love. He was a human, but he always was concerned for me. However, as bad luck seems to follow me, he was killed by vampire hunters, which was Zero Kiryu's parents. You know, your son-in-law isn't what he says he is. He has his secrets as well, so I wouldn't trust him if I were you. "

"Kaname has protected and thought about Serenity's well-being! He loves her unconditionally, and will do anything for her. He has gained every single aspect of both my trust, and Sakura's as well."

"Everyone always pretends to be something that they are not. Kaname Kuran is just another one of them."

"Meaning?"

"He is the one who freed me. After that, I did what I did. If it weren't for the Kuran boy, then I wouldn't have been able to escape."

Eiji looked at her suspiciously.

"You know I would never lie to someone that was once very special to me." She said in a very convincing tone.

She turned around to the exit.

"You can believe me, or not. I'm just telling you so that you know. Now you do."

As Shizuka made her way to exit, Eiji had called out to her.

"If I wasn't engaged to Sakura, how would have things been between us? Could you and I... along with Serenity, have..."

"Forget it. Our relationship is now in the past, Eiji. Or don't tell me that you still have some sort of lingering feelings towards me."

Eiji did not answer.

"You never loved Sakura, did you? You did this for the sake of your people.... But haven't you ever thought about her feelings?'

"I....haven't."

"Hmph. I can see it in your eyes. You never loved her, did you... She did, but you did not. You see her as nothing more than your sister."

Eiji looked away.

"Just as I suspected. You do not. This has all been for the sake of the Sora Empire, and you threw me away for the Sora Empire. What will Serenity think when she finds out that I am her mother, and that she was born to simply become the Sora Empire's successor...?"

"She was born for that purpose, but Sakura and I loved her despite that!"

"You love her, but you had always told me you wanted an heir to succeed the throne. So that night, did you sleep with me with the intention of producing an heir?"

"Shizuka, I..."

"Enough. I am leaving, Eiji. Just think about what I had said previously. Do not trust Kaname Kuran. He is hiding important things about himself from you and your family..." Shizuka concluded as she finally exited the throne room.

"I see why you invited her now.... Your ex-mistress is possessing the body of Maria Kurenai." Sakura said, stepping out from behind a pillar.

"I see that you heard everything." Eiji said with a sigh.

"Yes, I've known for a while that you really didn't have feelings for me. Every since that evening when we had the ball, you seemed to be so fond of Shizuka. You even went as far as sparing her when our parents were going to sentence her to death... Just admit it, Eiji. You still love Shizuka. You had a child with her, for goodness sakes!"

"A great deal of things has happened, even before Serenity's birth, from the point our engagement was set, to the evening we found out you could not have children, so much did happen. But I want things between us to improve. So that this Empire can continue to prosper. You were the one that has always watched over Serenity. You are her mother, despite the fact that you didn't give birth to her."'

"That doesn't change the fact that you slept with Shizuka."

"I did. Because I loved her. I was forced into a marriage with you. And I resented it, speaking honestly. You see, I see you as my little sister. I never saw you as anything more. I never was into sibling marriages. To be honest, I find it disgusting. That's why I went into a secret relationship with her. I fell in love with her, and it was real... But you, you are my little sister, Sakura. I never believed in marrying my sister, and I never will. This between us was all to make sure Serenity lives the life she deserves."

"I never had to involve myself with her, you know?"

"What?"

"But I chose to, because she deserves all the happiness in the world. Serenity is the daughter I wish I gave birth to. She is kind, gentle, and takes responsibility when she needs to. I understand you married me for the sake of the Sora Empire, but I had once believed that you really loved me. But when I saw you with her, you looked like the happiest man alive...I guess, for the sake of the Sora Empire, and for her, I will remain by your side until the time comes when we step down from the thrones, and pass them on to Kaname and Serenity."

"I'm sorry I had never told you this, but I wanted what was best for the Sora Empire. But after Kei stepped down, I felt like I had no other choice. I was the only one remaining and our parents had pushed all the responsibility of Emperor over to me. I had to do what needed to be done." Eiji said.

"I understand, Eiji. Look, I already decided to move to a different room within the castle. I knew, ever since the beginning the our relationship was never going to work. So if you still have some sort of feelings towards Shizuka Hio, then you should tell her the truth." Sakura said, as she had began making her way towards the exit.

"I'm grateful that you have become a part of Serenity's life. Thank you for always being there for her when she needs you."

"And I will continue to be a part of her life. Daughter or not, Serenity is my niece, after all. When she is going through the rough times,  I'll be there for her to bring her right up."

"Thank you, Sakura."

"You don't need to thank me for anything. I love Serenity, and she will always have a motherly figure to look upon when she needs it." She had concluded, exiting the throne room.

Eiji sighed, as he sat on his throne once again.

"I finally got the truth out of my chest... She knows. And my feelings for Shizuka are still intact, no matter how much I wish to forget her and move on...." Eiji said to himself.

~In a hidden villa near the border of the Mizu Kingdom~

The group was having some sort of a meeting in the living room. To refresh, the ones that were plotting against the Royal Purebloods are Sara Shirabuki, Ichio, Toma, Kei Tsukiyomi, Aito, Akio, and many other vampires that wanted a change in the vampire system. However, those six were the ones that were currently sitting, planning what their next move will be.

"I had a discussion with the Association President. He said that he will be having a chat with a Vampire Slayer, and will make his move once we give the order." Ichio reported.

"Perfect. And what about Princess Hinata?" Kei asked.

"Oh, my dear Hina is doing fine. Still resisting, but I'm sure she'll soon open her pretty little mouth once she falls in love with me."

"Not to rain on your parade, but the princess isn't going to love you anytime soon. She is far too infatuated with Mitsuru." Akio answered him.

"She is going to have to be electrocuted once more. She is going to die either way. Once Serenity is killed, she will fade from existence." Kei answered with a smirk.

"Yes, unfortunately..." Aito said as he looked away.

"Brother, you'll eventually find someone else. Hinata cannot be the only one that you see. There's plenty of other women to choose from." Akio said as he placed a hand on Aito's shoulder.

"Like, what do you even see in her? I swear, her facial structure is far too similar to Kaname's. And her never-wavering eyes remind me of Serenity so much... And both Kaname and Serenity are both a disgusting sight in my eyes." Sara stated in an annoyed tone.

"Within the crowd of monstrous vampires that exist in this world, Hinata is the only vampire that I never really saw as a monster. She seemed be more human to me, and she is someone that I don't ever want anyone else to have. She is far too special to me, and anyone that decides to touch her, I will kill them..."

"So scary...." Rido sarcastically said.

Kei simply smirked at Aito's statement.

"Well, you say all these kind things about her, but you almost raped the girl a few months ago in the future. That was not being a gentleman, and that is not true love. I may have intentions to destroy the Royal Pureblood race, but I cherish my wife and treat her the way she deserves to be treated. You, on the other hand, do not love her. You simply have an obsession to make her yours." Kei stated.

Everyone looked at Kei in surprise.

"What are you all looking at me for? Of course, I show affection towards my loved ones as well."

However, Rido completely changed the subject.

"You all have a plan to kill Serenity. However, didn't I tell you all that I would take her and make her mine? With her, I can become the new Emperor of the Sora Empire."

"There is no need for you to marry anyone of the Tsukiyomi family, Rido. The Sora Empire will fall, along with the remaining members of the Tsukiyomi family. You can do as you please when you rebuild it. Of course, that's how the deal always was. When there came a time that the Tsukiyomi family would become extinct, then the Kuran family would naturally take over as the rulers should something like this ever happen."

"But you, Lord Kei..."

"I abdicated from the throne.  I am no longer eligible to take the throne of the Sora Empire, therefore, if Serenity dies, there is no successor."

"However, what you said.... You said that the Kuran family can take over the throne should the Tsukiyomi family become extinct. Kaname Kuran is Serenity's husband. He still would be the Emperor of the Sora Empire."

"Then he must die as well. The last one standing must be you, Rido."

"I guess then the both of them will have to die, then... Heh. It's still cute, though. They will die together." Toma said with a smirk.

"The next order of action we need to take is to attack Cross Academy. That is their base of operations, after all."

"Agreed. But when shall we conduct this deed?"

"Soon. Rido and Sara should make the preparations. We are going there for one thing: to kill Kaname and Serenity both. It will not be an easy task, however, if it becomes a challenge, then I will step in myself." Kei stated as he looked at each and every person that was in the room.

"And after Kaname and Serenity is dealt with?"

"We must deal with the other kingdoms as well. They are Royal Purebloods with a great deal of power. If we are going to put away the Royal Purebloods forever, then we must destroy the other kingdoms as well. That is when you two come in. You both have a grudge against the Ryuzaki family for killing your parents, right?" Kei said, looking over to Akio and Aito.

"Yes, we have been waiting for this ever since we had come to this time."

"You two will in charge of bringing the Hi Kingdom down. Rido and I will be in charge of bringing down the Sora Empire and Kaze Kingdom. Sara, you and Toma will bring down the Tsuchi Kingdom. Ichio, you will bring down the Mizu Kingdom with a group of vampires."

Everyone nodded to Kei's statement.

~Hinata Kuran~

My head hurts so much.... I need blood and now. How will I manage to access my true form in this state?

I'm currently laying in bed. I've been in this room all the time, since everything in here is at my disposal. There was a bathroom, so I could take a bath or do my business, and plus there was a wardrobe filled with different kinds of outfits.  I could also call for a maid in case I was hungry.

I can't take it anymore...

I bit into my wrist and took blood from there. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the delicious, metallic taste that it had.

I then retracted my fangs and realized that my wound had healed. No way... Am I starting to get my powers back?

To test it out, I tried to make the cup levitate. Unfortunately, it did not.

"Damn it...."

I have been making sure to concentrate and relax to make sure I can access these powers. I think I'll try it tonight. If my wound healed, that means that there may be a small amount of power that is deep within me.

The knob of the door turned and opened, revealing Aito.

"Tch, don't you ever get tired?" I asked him in an annoyed tone, turning my body the opposite direction.

It's day right now, however, he was awake almost all night. Doesn't this guy get any sleep at all?

"I'm going to take a nap right now. After all, the war is going to begin soon... I must make you mine before you fade away from existence."

I sat up. "Excuse me?!"

Aito sat by my side, and caressed my cheek.

"I don't have to repeat myself twice, love." He said in a "loving" tone.

"You will most certainly not! The man I love is Mitsuru!"

"Hah. Mitsuru? You have always been mine. You simply just decided to run away from me. Why... why can't you understand that I love you, Hinata?!"

"I told you, you don't love me! You are completely obsessed with me! Even when I loved you, you always told me that you didn't want to see me with other men. That alone showed that you had no faith in me! A man who loves his partner has complete faith and trust in them. You even raised your voice at me when I was talking to a friend of mine! That was the moment when I truly realized that you weren't worth my time. You're trash."

He raised his hand at me, as if he were going to slap me but he did not.

"Hitting you isn't even worth my time. I'll punish you tonight." He said, making his way to the couch, closing his eyes to take a nap.

Maybe... Maybe I can kill him now and get out of here... It was an idiot move for him to fall asleep in the same room as me...

I looked to the desk and saw that there was some stationary in a cup. I waited about five minutes until I finally heard Aito's snoring.

"Ugh, he never changes in that aspect." I whispered as I mustered some strength and quietly got up from bed, making my way to the desk where it had a pair of scissors within the cup.

I'll kill you... Threatening me and my family... Wanting to bring down the five kingdoms that watch over the vampire race...  It is unforgivable. I will never forgive him.

I don't regret choosing to come to this time... If it means protecting the future and the ones that I love, then I have absolutely no problem. I will not let them kill my mother and father.

I grabbed the scissors and slowly began making my way over to him.

You monster... Making me his. In his dreams. A human saying that to a Royal Pureblood... I will kill him. I cannot rely on the others to rescue me. I'm Hinata Kuran. I don't wait for anyone to come and rescue me.

A flashback to when I was five years old then comes to mind.

~beginning of flashback~

My mother, Takuma, and I were in the mausoleum of Sora Castle, where my father rested and where all the members of the Tsukiyomi family slept.

"Hinata, that is your father, Kaname Kuran." My mother said in a gentle tone as she had her hand on my shoulder.

"Otou-san?" I asked as I looked curiously upon at my father, who was encased in ice.

"Yes, he's resting right now. But I promise, my dear, someday he will wake up and be by your side."

I didn't say a thing, I got closer to him, touching the ice which separated him from us.

"Otou-san... So you aren't dead after all..." I said, my voice cracking up a bit.

I had no idea that tears were falling from my eyes as I looked upon my father, who was sleeping peacefully.

"Ne... Can you wake up, Otou-san? Please... It's me, Hinata. I'm your daughter..."

Obviously, there was no response from him.

I crouched to the ground, holding my tears back.

"Hina, I promise you. Your daddy's going to be okay. Mommy will do everything she can to wake him up, okay? But for now, I want you to be strong." She reassured me with a smile.

I noticed however, that deep down inside, she was in pain. She held back her tears and her pain to make sure that I remain smiling...

"It'll be okay, Hina-chan. Your father's strong. I'm sure he'll wake up soon and you'll be in his arms before you know it."

I wiped my tears and smiled at Takuma. At the time, he's always been the father figure to me, and he's been protecting my dad.

I stood up and looked once again at my father.

"I'll be waiting, Otou-san. No matter how long it takes, I'll wait. I love you..."  I said one last time before turning around along with my mother.

"Thanks for your hard work, Takuma. Keep up the good work."

"Of course, Empress Serenity." He said with a bow.

The both of them of exited the underground mausoleum, and they went back up to the castle.

"Alright, Hinata. You can go and play with your dolls now. Mommy needs to go back to her office and do some work."

"Yeah, okay..." I answered.

My mother then went up the stairs up to her room and I secretly followed her. She had went into her office and left the door slightly open.

About a minute or two later, I heard quiet sobbing.

"Kaname... Please come back. I miss your love and your hugs... I miss having you here by my side. Hinata needs you. Wake up, please..."

Her head was was on her desk, and I had heard her crying for Father. I realized that she was being strong for me. So I need to be strong for her. I walked away to my room, my decision made.

I will be strong: for my mother and for the future of my father.

~end of flashback~

For the future of my mother and father, I will kill this man that threatens my family.

I was about to stab him on the chest, until a hand stopped me and took the scissors from my hand and threw them to the side.

"I can't believe you really are going this far, Hinata.... It really hurts me to see you doing this to me..."

He then pushed me over him.

"Hey-"

"Don't make things worse, Hinata. Or your punishment is going to be far more severe than it already is." His eyes were looking straight into mine, but I showed no fear once again.

"I'm not scared of you. I don't regret nothing. It would have been an honor to kill you." I responded.

"You... You truly hate me, don't you Hinata...?"

"You want to kill my family. That alone makes me hate you."

"Heh, I see. Then I have no choice, do I?"

Aito pulled me from the couch and back into the bed, cuffing me.

"You will stay here until you die. That is how things will remain. You belong to me and no one else. You will accept your fate, Hina. But I promise you, before you die, you will become mine. I will make sure of it."

"If you truly love me, then you will let me go." I stated.

"I love you, but I will not let you go." He answered.

I sighed in annoyance.

"Whatever." I answered.

I guess I will have to go with my usual plan, then...

"Get some rest, Hinata." He whispered, walking back to the long couch.

After he said that, there was nothing but silence in the room.

I sighed.

I guess I'll continue practicing my concentration skills, then...

~Serenity Tsukiyomi~

Kaname and I were showed to our room, which was a beautiful room with a very nice balcony that had a beautiful view of the town of Hana.

As soon as the both of us had gotten into the room, we got comfortable and immediately went to bed.

I'm really worried for Hina... I can't even sleep because who knows what Aito or my uncle could be doing to her...

"Cannot sleep either?" Kaname asked.

His eyes met with mine, as he looked a bit worried as well.

"No... I'm still worried for Hina."

"I am as well, but I was thinking how we should not stress ourselves too much. Hina may not have her powers, but there is a possibility that she can access her true form. Could I be right?"

I sighed. "Yeah. That is the only way Hina can defend herself should they try to threaten her. But Mitsuru had already told us that she has never had access to her true form before." I answered him.

Kaname then gently brought me into his arms for an embrace.

"I think this will calm the both of us down a bit."

I giggled.

"Yes, cuddling with you always makes me feel so relaxed... I know we'll find her." I answered.

About a minute later, I heard steady breathing.

Kaname had already fallen asleep, still with his arms around me. I smiled and closed my eyes as well. Before I knew it, I ended up falling asleep in his warm embrace, and went into the world of dreams.

~dream~

I found myself walking in a dark forest. There were no leaves in the trees, and there was nothing but but my footsteps as I walked, trying to find my way out of the forest.

"Mother, help me!" A very familiar voice called out.

In front of me, appeared Hina, who was reaching her hand out to me.

"Hina!"

"What a nuisance you are, cute little Serenity. So this is your daughter, huh. Well, from the future that is. I find you too young to have children."

Behind Hina, was Shizuka Hio. Someone who I did not want to see for as long as I live.

"What do you want?"

"Oh please. You know what I want. For you to suffer. I will take everything that is important to you. The one you love, everything. It is unfortunate, however, that your father hasn't told you the truth, or the reason of your birth." She answered, as Hina disappeared from sight.

My eyes glowed gold as I prepared to attack her with the lightning bolts that had transformed into a golden sword, that was in the shape of a lightning bolt.

"I can kill you so easily, you know that? I can paralyze you for a short time and kill you. You are, after all, just a Pureblood."

Shizuka chuckled, completely unfazed by my statement.

"What's so funny? I can, right now." I said, pointing the sword at her.

"Kill me then. I'm pretty sure you don't even have the guts, dear."

Rage began to consume me, and I quickly made my way over to her, aiming for her chest.

"You will pay for what you did to Zero's family! I will-"

Once again, that feeling came to me. The feeling to not kill her.

"What the hell... Why.... Why is this happening?!"

"Like I said, you cannot kill me, my dear. You and I have a very special connection..."

"Never. I would never have a connection with a monster like you."

"What if I told you that you are my child, and not Sakura's? What if I told you that I had fallen in love with your father once upon a time...?"

"Hah. Trying to get yourself away from death? Well, too bad."

"You think I am lying? I am most certainly not. You are my biological daughter, Serenity. Don't you see? Your blood satisfied Zero's thirst for a time."

"That is because I'm a Royal Pureblood. Our blood-"

"No. That's not how it works, child. Whoever bites the human is automatically their master. The only thing that could satisfy his thirst is only my blood. No one else's. It just so happens that you decided to give him your blood, which satisfied his thirst for a few years."

"No... You're lying to me... You are not my mother!"

"You can believe or not. The fact is you have my blood running through your veins. That may be likely the reason to why you have second thoughts on killing me."

I bent down to the ground. "I'm the child of the woman who killed his parents.... I lived with his family... This cannot be true. You're just saying these things because you want to-"

"Look, if I wanted to die, I could have taken my own life. There is no reason to kill myself. I am telling you the truth. I guess I'll just have to show you, but now is not the time. I have, prior things to attend to."

"Are you helping the enemy?" I asked curiously.

"Well, I'm sure you'll find out once we meet in person again." She said with a smirk.

Her figure faded, and with that, everything became dark again.

~Kaname Kuran~

I had opened my eyes, slightly groaning as I was still a bit drowsy. I looked to the side, only to see my beloved Serenity sleeping soundly in my arms.

I smiled at the sight and moved her bangs to the side.

Her eyes slowly opened, and she looked around the room. I had noticed that her hands were trembling, and she was holding back tears.

"Serenity? What is the matter, my beloved?"

She didn't answer, however stood up from bed and made her way to the balcony. Her actions confused and worried me a bit, so I got up from bed as well and followed her to the balcony.

It was the late afternoon, and we were to leave for the Mizu Kingdom's border in a few hours. She should be getting some rest. It's going to be a very long evening..

"Serenity."

"I might be the child of a monster..." She stated in a quiet tone.

Still confused, I approached her and brought my arms around her from behind.

"What is the matter, Serenity? Did you have a bad dream?"

"Not particularly... More like, I talked with someone in my dreams that just felt so real... No, to be honest, not felt. It was real. It was Shizuka Hio...."

Shizuka...? What does Shizuka have to do with Serenity? Wait.... she just said that she is the child of a monster? And she couldn't have told Serenity about what I did. What I did the past was for Yuuki's sake... Now, there was absolutely no reason for it.

"What about Shizuka?" I asked.

"Kaname, that woman might be my biological mother...."

My eyes widened. Serenity...is Shizuka's daughter?

"Eiji is still my father, but Sakura is not my mother... Why would my father keep this from me?" She said in a tone that was breaking up a bit, as if she were on the verge of crying.

"Maybe she could be lying to you."

"Yeah, that's what I first thought, however that time that I let Zero bite me, his thirst was quenched for a time. One's thirst can only be quenched by their master... I managed to quench it only because I may have her blood... And if that is the case, I truly am the child of a monster.."

"Do not say those things. If it does turn out that you are her daughter, just know that you are not like her. You are different. You are kind, and you are unlike her in every aspect, you hear me?"

"Yeah, I guess... Hold back when I almost destroyed the entire Sora Empire with my powers..." Serenity said with a sigh as she looked to the distance.

I then turned Serenity around, making her face me as she ended up against the railing.

Come to think of it, she does have some of Shizuka's features. Her hair color, and the shape of her eyes are what make her resemble her.

"You were not in control. Don't blame yourself for anything. So what if you are Shizuka's daughter? You are still Serenity Tsukiyomi, and nothing will change."

"Zero will despise me. He will never talk to me ever again...."

Now that I think about it,  she was raised along with Kiryu for a time. If Kiryu were to find out that Serenity is that woman's daughter, then there would be a great deal of problems, and Serenity will hurt. Kiryu hates Shizuka, and will take away her life if he had the opportunity. Kiryu would then blame Serenity for the loss of his parents, which is truly not her fault, as it is mine....

"If he knows who you truly are, then he shouldn't hate you..."

Her eyes widened in surprise.

"Kaname..."

"Kiryu hates the woman who made him that way. He has no reason to hate you. Shizuka had her own personal reasons to why she attacked the Kiryu residence.  You are certainly not to blame for anything."

Serenity smiled. "Yeah, I guess you're right. What could I have been thinking? Even though, knowing Zero, I'm sure he is going to resent me in some sort of way."

I brought my face closer to her face, my eyes looking deep into hers.

"He will not. I'll make sure of it. Now, why don't we stop talking about other men?" I said with a smirk.

She looked at the opposite direction, her face turning red.

"Zero is just a childhood-"

I then turned her head over to make her look at me once again.

"Yes. He is your childhood friend. But you know how I easily get jealous when you talk about other men."

"I-I-"

I then interrupted her words with a kiss.

"Mmph-"

She eventually gave into my all of a sudden passionate kiss, and brought her arms around my neck.

After about a minute of kissing, I kept my hand on her cheek and smiled.

"I don't ever want other you talk low about yourself ever again." I reassured her.

Serenity smiled. "Alright, I won't...."

I chuckled and brought our lips together once again for a slow and sweet kiss.

"I wish you had your violin so that you can play me a song." I said.

"I left it back at Cross Academy.... I'll play a song just for you once we get back there." She answered with a smile.

"I would really like that a great deal. Now, we really should get back inside and get some rest. Tonight is going to be filled with a great deal of obstacles that we are going to have to face. I'll make sure to comfort you to make sure that you don't get any more bad dreams." I told her.

"I would appreciate that a lot." She answered with a smile.

I put my arm around her waist and the both of us made our way back into our room to get the rest we need to go and rescue Hina.

~Takuma Ichijo~

I was in my room, just relaxing and reading a manga, when Aido just barged into Shiki and I's dorm.

"Ichijo!"

"Aido, what brings you here?" I asked him with my usual smile.

"Serenity-sama and Kaname-sama... They aren't at the Sora Empire!"

"And why does that concern you?" I asked as I turned the page.

"I'm worried about them! And.... aren't you a bit worried about Aiko-sama?"

Aiko...

"She is a Royal Pureblood! She will be alright!" I answered.

"Oh, give me a break.  I've noticed that you've developed some sort of little crush on her ever since she arrived here. You are worried about her!"

"When have I- I have never."

"Oh, really....? That time when you were talking about your similarities? About your desire to protect Kaname-sama's feelings, and she said the same thing about Serenity as well?" Shiki said as he was still half asleep.

"Shiki....! I told you not to say anything!"

"I see... Love at first sight, isn't it?" Aido asked with a smirk.

"No.... She is a princess. She shouldn't be with someone of my class..."

"Who cares about that? It seems that she's really fond of you as well."

"Fond of me...? No..." I said with a nervous laugh.

"Oh yes she is. Actually as a matter of fact, she was looking at you throughout class the other evening, I just didn't say anything." He answered me with a smirk.

I blushed.

"Shut up."

"You like Princess Aiko, don't you..." Aido asked me with a smirk.

"I-I don't! I mean I like her as a-a friend, but-"

I can't say that I have feelings for someone that I just met...

"Save it, Ichijo-san." Shiki said as he got up from bed. "Let's go to wherever Kaname-sama and the others are. I'm sure they need us." He added, getting out of bed.

"What...?"

"Let's go. I'll ask Rima and the others and see if they would like to go. Which I am most likely certain that they may want to go. So... let's go. So that you can protect your loved one." Aido said.

I sighed. "Looks like it settled then." I said, closing my manga.

~Hinata Kuran~

After a few hours, night slowly began to fall. I slowly opened my eyes, only to find Aito over me.

"I've been waiting this for a long, long time..." He said in a lustful tone.

"So making me yours is basically..."

"Yes. Continuing here we left off before that asshole Mitsuru interrupted us a few months ago."

"I'm sorry, but that isn't going to happen. I will say it once more. I don't love you. I love Mitsuru."

"Why, you... "

I closed my eyes and breathed in slowly.

I opened my eyes and they glowed gold.

"W-what...?"

I sat up and looked at him with such cold eyes.

"By the order of the Sora Empire, I hereby ask you to leave my presence, now."

Aito then levitated and I pushed him against the wall.

"Aggggh-!"

My hair went from brown to a dark red. My outfit had turned into a battle outfit that was to my liking.

(This is the outfit that Hina wears when in her true form.)

"Now... Prepare for your death, Aito Hiroi."

He sighed in annoyance. "I knew I shouldn't have left you alone."

Lightning emitted from my hand and I threw it at him.

"Aaaaa!"

"For everything you've done to me, you will pay... All of you will. For threatening to kill my family, and for threatening my parents..."

"Miss Hinata. You are outnumbered. Surrender now." Ichio said.

I laughed uncontrollably, bringing fear to some of the vampires within the room.

"She is not outnumbered. I suggest you all back off. The others are taking care of your allies."

Behind him was Mitsuru.

"Mitsuru...." I called out to him, trying not to let out my emotions.

"Let's take care of this, Hinata."

I nodded my head confidently.

"Yes. Aito Hiroi, I will be the one to bestow judgement on you." I said confidently.

"Tch," He answered with a grunt, trying to stand up.

He was paralyzed, but he was giving it all he had to try to get up.

"I'll make you suffer...." I stated in a cold tone.
