10th Night: Return to Sora Empire
~Third person PoV, that same evening~
Rina, Satsuki, Aiko, and Azusa, along with the other Aristocrat vampires were all sitting in the living room enjoying a cup of tea with some cookies on the side.
"I wonder if Serenity's okay..." Rina worriedly said.
"I'm sure she is... But that meltdown she had was something that was out of the ordinary... She broke all the windows in the classroom..." Aiko added.
"But Takamiya-sensei went to go check on her... He never came back." Rima stated as she took a bite of a cookie.
"Serenity must be okay. Did you not see that right when she ran out, Kuran went after her?" Satsuki confidently stated.
"Eh, you're right. Serenity's head over heels for that guy." Azusa stated, then take a sip of tea.
"Say... You guys wanna know something..?" Aido stated as he stood against the stairway.
"You seem like you have something that you want to say, Hanabusa." Akatsuki stated, his eyes on him.
"And it has been a while since you were so serious." Ruka added, who also had her eye on him.
"Actually, on the night where everyone was offering their condolences to Haruka and Juuri-sama... I remember Kaname-sama was standing outside, looking up to the sky, as if he was doing some sort of prayer.. I only remember one sentence he said:
"I'm sorry, Haruka and Juuri. I failed to protect Serenity... Any punishment that life offers me, I will take it... I will protect Yuuki in Serenity's place and bring her happiness... This is what I must do."
"I've always thought though... During the time that Serenity was supposedly dead, couldn't he have had some sort of feeling towards Yuuki-san? He did say that he was going to bring her happiness." Aiko stated.
The Royal Purebloods and Takuma knew the truth about Yuuki. That she is a Pureblood vampire and the daughter of Haruka and Juuri. However the Aristocrats did not. They knew that Kaname wanted to keep it a secret so that she can live a peaceful life. So they decided to keep it a secret as well.
"Kaname... has been through so much misery. I've seen it first hand. After what happened, I can understand that he wanted to at least have someone by his side... And when he met Yuuki-chan 10 years ago after the Sora Empire was attacked, he believed that his new purpose was to protect this girl. I had believed that Yuuki-chan was to make him happy. So I guess I can say that, it can go both ways. He wanted to wash away his sin by being with Yuuki-chan, but in that process he started to have some sort of feeling for her. This strong, unwavering desire to protect her..." Takuma stated.
Satsuki's eyes widened.
"Ichijo-san... Are you trying to say that Kuran may still-"
"Feelings are really hard to understand. I can't say where his feelings are, but I know he truly loves Serenity genuinely from the bottom of his heart. He adores her. As for Yuuki-chan, I don't have a clue anymore. Or maybe he knows more than anyone that he and Yuuki-chan weren't destined for each other ever since the beginning.."
"Come to think of it, I've always seen her with that vampire hunter...what was his name again..? Zero Kiryu, I think...?" Azusa questioned.
"Yeah. Kiryu-kun... I've seen them have their moments." Senri answered, who was quiet for a time.
"But come on now... Kaname's feelings are obvious! If he ended up having a daughter with Serenity, then that means he chose her in the end!" Rina stated.
"Huh... You right, Rina-san... Wow. I totally forgot about that." Akatsuki answered.
"And plus, the future Kaname was talking so fondly about Serenity, there's no way he could have chosen Yuuki!" Aido exclaimed.
"But didn't you guys hear? He lost his memories." Rima stated.
"Something must have happened that caused him to lose them."
"That doesn't matter now, though! We need to be concerned! If there is a war that could threaten the existence of us Royal Purebloods, then we have to be on our guard! Since Serenity's uncle is leading it, both sides are equal." Aiko answered.
Satsuki stood up from his seat and looked at everyone.
"We will be victorious, no matter what. We, the Royal Purebloods are the leaders of the vampire society. We need to set an example and show them their place. Even if the Senate is the governing body of our society, we are still the ones that should take action. For Serenity, Rina, Azusa, Aiko, and I... As representatives and future rulers of our respective domains, we will settle things. Whether it's by words or by action."
"I agree with you, Satsuki-kun!" Hina said from the top of the stairwell, with her father behind her.
"Hina-san..."
"I cannot say what future awaits you all, but just know this. Have faith in yourselves, and enjoy your long lives to the fullest! Like in this moment... You're all just sitting down, enjoying a cup of tea and having a conversation... Those are the simple things that bring everyone together! As long as you all fight together as a team, I'm sure that things will be alright!" Hina cheerfully said.
"Just do what you all must do. After all, the decisions you all made created the future that we all now exist in." The Emperor stated.
"Kaname-sama..." Aido said.
"From what I can remember, that confidence of yours Ryuzaki-san, has not changed one bit."
"Heh... How interesting."
"Anyways, I'm going to go look for Kaname right now! He promised me a chess match!" Hina said, going in the direction of Kaname's dorm.
"Hinata, I don't think now is a-"
The Emperor followed Hina, attempting to catch up with her.
"He was slightly blushing.. He probably knew what Kaname and Serenity were up to right now..." Azusa said with a smirk.
"Well, he does remember certain things, after all..." Akatsuki answered.
"Hina-san did say something that is true. We have to live the moment instead of thinking what is to come. Sure...something massive that may affect everyone's future is imminent, but it is always best to live our long lives to the fullest and not think about the negatives. Since a future exists, then that means whatever happens, it will turn out for the best." Aiko stated with a smile.
Everyone then nodded in agreement to Aiko's statement.
"You are absolutely right, Aiko-san! That is exactly what I had in mind." Ichijo answered cheerfully.
Aiko smiled.
Everyone had their resolve to face any obstacle that decides to come their way.
~Vampire Hunter's Association, Third person PoV~
The President was sitting at his desk, listening to Asato Ichijo's request.
"We are asking you for your aid. Of course, there is compensation..."
"Heh... And what kind of compensation may that be, Ichio...?"
"I'll give you the blood of a vampire. Of course, I can see that you like to maintain your...appearance. It would be upsetting if you were to lose that."
"Well... That is true..." He answered.
"If you help us, I can promise you that you'll receive blood that will help maintain your appearance."
The President actually had put some thought into it. He wanted to maintain his feminine appearance and not lose his beauty.
"What is exactly that you want?" He asked curiously.
"We want you to help in killing the princess of the Sora Empire, Serenity Tsukiyomi. She is the only heir to the throne of the Sora Empire. If she dies, then the Sora Empire will no longer have an heir and it could mean trouble for its future. Eiji and Sakura will eventually fall to rest, and Reina Tsukiyomi will already be in eternal rest at that time. If we succeed... There will no longer be a Sora Empire. If there is no Sora Empire, then the other kingdoms will simply perish as well."
"Killing the Princess of the Sora Empire... That indeed will be a tough task."
"Not entirely. We have the former prince, Kei Tsukiyomi. His desire is for the five Royal Pureblood kingdoms to fall. He believes that Purebloods should be the ones doing all of the dirty work, and it shouldn't be based on how powerful one is."
The President stood up from his seat and looked right into Ichio's eyes.
"You want me to put Miss Serenity on the vampire hunter's list. The only thing is... for what reason?"
"The reason? Simple. She is a danger to human lives. She cannot control her own powers, and that makes her dangerous."
"I see.... Alright then. However, I don't have any hunters that are trained to kill Royal Purebloods. The only thing I can do is hire a Vampire Slayer. Those people have experience with killing Royal Purebloods and other high-ranking vampires."
Vampire Slayers are similar to Vampire Hunters, however the only difference is that they kill vampires for their own pleasure. They believe that only humans should be the ones existing in this world.
"However. Take action when I give you the signal. Let us just see how things unfold at the moment. It seems that one of the Hiroi twins have a past with Hina Tsukiyomi."
"I've never heard of there being a Hina Tsukiyomi within the Sora Castle..."
"That's because she is Serenity's daughter from the future."
"D-Daughter?! Ichio... If she had a daughter, that means that obviously she didn't di-"
"No. We will change that one way or another. They aren't the only ones that have an ally from the future, after all. Serenity and all the other Royal Purebloods will perish. When that happens, Purebloods will take over. I know Kaname-sama will end up killing me because I was part of the plan to kill his princess, but... Royal Purebloods cannot exist. Not with the destructive nature that they have."
"I see. Then I will have to secretly set up a meeting with one of my Vampire Slayers, then..." He stated, as he put the fan over his lips, creating a mysterious aura.
"I see that you already have someone?"
"Of course. I need to be prepared when a situation like this comes up."
"Well, that's perfect then. I will take my leave then. It will be a pleasure working with you, Association President. Like I stated previously, wait for my signal to send the Vampire Slayer."
"Of course. I'll be waiting, then. I'll have a hunter accompany you out."
Ichio then walked out of the office, with a confident expression on his face.
~The next morning, Serenity Tsukiyomi's PoV~
As I was enjoying my nice rest, I felt a soft hand move my hair to the side a few times. That feels nice...
I opened my eyes, only to find myself looking into the eyes of my beloved.
I smiled at the sight of him and moved his soft brown hair behind his ear.
"Good morning."
"Good morning, Serenity. How are you feeling?'
"A bit sore, but I'll be fine."
Kaname chuckled. "Seems like I overdid myself..."
"It's okay. You did great." I answered with a slight blush on my cheeks.
"Heh. I can say the same for you, Serenity. It was your first time, and you pulled it off."
I turned my head over to look at the time and it read 6:30 am. Ugh, it is far too early to do this... But oh well, we have to do what we have to do..
"How about taking a shower together?"
My eyes widened as my face turned tomato red again.
"Um... Can you repeat that?"
"Oh, Serenity... I already saw everything. And it's just taking a shower. It will make getting ready even faster. Wouldn't you agree?"
I sighed.
"Kaname, it's still embarrassing...."
He chuckled. "I can never get tired of you. There is always something new that I learn about you everyday. I just love it."
I sat up in bed, covering myself with the blanket.
"You've grown quite bold these days. What happened to my loyal knight that listened to my every wish?"
Kaname sat up as well.
"Well, for one you did tell the entire Night Class to treat you like them. So I know you gave me that liberty as well. However, I forgot the important point as well. You are my wife, which that makes me your equal, right?"
I giggled. "Kaname, I was just joking with you. I never really saw you as my knight or my servant. Nothing. From the moment I met eyes with you in the throne room, I immediately fell in love with you. My intention for making you my knight was because I wanted to get to know you more."
Kaname caressed my cheek and smiled gently.
"That makes me happy. You know, Serenity... I want to be honest with you. I did at one point, love Yuuki. I will not lie to you. If we are going to be together for eternity, there really shouldn't be any secrets between us. I thought you really died. I saw you fall that cliff. I searched for you, but I could not find you... I felt sorrow and regret for failing to protect you. After that, I had made my resolve. I would protect Yuuki, and I would not let the same thing happen to her. Throughout all of that, I started to have feelings for her. However, when I met you again on that ceremony, my feelings started to waver once again... All that time, I realized that you had never left my heart. I believe that my love for Yuuki existed after you had disappeared. I felt lonely... I didn't know what else to do..."
I thought he had forgotten about me because he loved her... But I was wrong. My disappearance caused him a great deal of pain. He wanted to forget the pain to move on, so he protected Yuuki so the same thing would not happen to her...
"Kaname, I really didn't think of it that way..."
He embraced me tightly with both his arms, not wanting to let me go.
"I was devastated, Serenity. When I heard that you had supposedly died, I wanted to leave with you that moment. I had that anti-vampire weapon at my hand at that moment. I was close to taking my own life after finding out your death, that I just wanted to disappear and fade into dust."
He what...? He was going to kill himself that time?
"I'll show you... The day when you disappeared. Take my blood."
"But..."
"Please, I want you to see." He asked me.
"If that is your wish, then..."
I gently moved his hair to the side and slowly made my way to his neck. Without hesitation, I bit his neck, and memories of that evening began to flood in my head. With that, I closed my eyes and watched the events unfold.
The snow was falling down strongly as a younger Kaname was running around, searching for me.
"Serenity-denka, please if you can hear me.... Call out to me, say anything!"
Kaname's facial expression was nothing but worry and sadness.
"I didn't even get to respond to your feelings... Why... Why did you have to tell me that now!" He called in a loud tone.
"Serenity... Please! If you can hear me... Call for me... say my name, anything! It's me, Kaname!"
At that time, Zero and Ichiru had already found me and they had already taken me to their home...
Kaname bent to the ground, clutching the snow.
"Serenity... Are you really gone? You can't be.... You're stronger than anyone I have ever known. You can't be dead... You just cannot..."
Not too far from him, was a vampire hunter's weapon.
"I must punish myself for the sin I've committed. I let this happen to her..."
Kaname reached for the weapon and slowly turned it over to himself.
"If Serenity no longer exists, then there is no reason for me to exist either..."
No this isn't possible.... All this time I blamed him. I ignored him and threw him away whenever he tried talking to me. I'm the cruel one here. I'm the one that made the mistake here. I only had thought about myself when I had made the decision to go in hiding.
The one who hurt him....was me. But despite that.... he still loves me.
"Kaname-sama!"
Kaname quickly shook his head and threw the weapon to the side.
"What is it?"
"Rido-sama.... Rido-sama is approaching the Kuran residence. Haruka and Juuri-sama need you there immediately!"
"I'll be right there." He answered.
The man bowed and disappeared.
"I have no time... Now Yuuki is involved in all of this mess. I refuse to let the same thing happen to her... I'll protect her in Serenity's place... I'll make sure no harm comes to her. I cannot die. Not now. Serenity, wherever you are... I hope that you are alright... I'm sure your probably sitting under a tree on a warm, sunny day just enjoying the nature that surrounds you. That is the kind of girl you are after all. Very simple, and unlike any other girl I've met... As for my answer to your question.... Yes.. I love you too. But I feel such a pain deep within myself, and I cannot make it go away. It hurts too much. But to make it go away, I am going to forget the root of my pain so that I can move on with my life. So I will say it once more, Serenity."
"....I love you."
Serenity.... What have you done? You hurt the feelings of the man you love... I regret it. I regret it all. I wish I never made the decisions I made... I regret rejecting him when I first met him again... His love for Yuuki was real during that period of time that I was gone. He wanted to move on with his life and forget the pain.
I then saw that Kaname disappeared, using his bats, and with that the vision that he wanted to show me had ended.
Constant tears of regret fell from my eyes as I just sat there on the bed feeling nothing but regret.
"Kaname, I'm so, so sorry..."
"Serenity, why are you apologizing?" He had asked, lost.
"This is all my fault... You didn't hurt me, I hurt you. I'm the one who decided to stay in hiding. I'm the one who decided to stay with Zero and Ichiru... I hurt you more... I'm so sorry.." I cried with a whisper as the tears continued falling from my eyes.
"Serenity, don't cry... It isn't your fault..." He answered as he gently wiped away my tears.
"Kaname, please stop being so nice.... It is my fault. Who do you think is the one that decided to stay in hiding? I hurt you without even realizing it...." I cried, as I rested my head on his bare chest.
"It's okay... Really, that was a long time ago. It's over now. We know somewhat the future that awaits us. We are going to have a daughter, and eventually take over as rulers of the Sora Empire... Everything is going to be okay..."
I looked up at him and smiled cheerfully as the last tear fell from my eye.
"You and I are the complete opposite when it comes to forgiving. It takes me a while to forgive someone, but for you, you forgive so fast..."
"I don't forgive someone that fast. I am the same as you. It takes awhile for me forgive someone. But with you, Serenity... You never did anything wrong. And plus, I would never get mad at you. You are my beloved."
He's so kind to me... Yet I.... I hurt him deeply.
"I'm so sorry, Kaname...."
"Don't be sorry...." He whispered, reassuring me with a gentle kiss on my lips.
"Now, why don't we go freshen ourselves up?" Kaname asked.
"Fine." I answered with a pout.
Kaname chuckled, and the both of us got up from bed, making our way to the bathroom to prepare for the class lecture.
~Hinata Kuran~
I opened my eyes, feeling the rays of the sun enter my room. Ugh, I forgot to close the curtains last night... No wonder I woke up so early...
I got up from bed and stretched my arms. I looked at the brooch and smiled as I put my hand over it.
"I wonder how you're doing, Mitsuru...." I whispered to myself.
Mitsuru Yamamoto is my boyfriend and an Aristocrat vampire. Lots of people back home are always telling me things like, "Why are you dating an Aristocrat?" or "Isn't a Pureblood or a Royal Pureblood more suitable for you?" Well, for one he's the son of a family friend, which is Tsukiko Aido, Hanabusa's sister. Ren Yamamoto is his father, who is a Pureblood vampire.
My father and mother's wish is for me to be with someone that can make me happy after all.... They loved each other at such a young age, but they were forced to marry at age 8. That's crazy, if you ask me..
Mitsuru and I have only been dating for a few months... But I'm happier than ever. More happier than when I was with Aito....
I sighed.
"I don't have to teach any lectures today with anyone... What to do now..." I said to myself as I got up from bed and looked out the window.
Oh, wait! Serenity should be awake! She and Kaname are lecturing a class early this morning! Maybe I'll go to Serenity's room to say good morning!
I quickly put something to cover myself and made my way to Serenity's dorm.
I opened the door of my room and I quietly walked through the hallways until I found myself in front of Serenity's room.
*knock knock*
"Serenity! It's Hina! Open up!"
No answer. Could she still be sleeping?
I then twisted the knob from the door of her room and it opened. That's weird... Her bed is still neatly done, and her books are on her desk...
Then I realized where could she have been. That's why Father tried to stop me from looking for Kaname... He and Serenity probably did.... the nasty.
I smirked. Well, obviously I ain't going to bother them now.
"Hey, Hina..." Aido said, as he was already dressed in his Night Class uniform.
"You're lecturing too?" I asked.
"Yes. Akatsuki and I are lecturing a Chemistry class. I'm too tired..."
"Want some of my blood? It should wake you right up!" I stated.
Aido's flushed red at my declaration.
"N-no! I could never take blood from a Royal Pureblood! It's forbidden!"
"It's fine!"
I'll just make sure he can't see into the future through my memories.
"Hinata. Please do not waltz around the dorm, offering others your blood." Father said, who was standing behind me with his arms crossed.
"Hehe.... D-Dad..."
"But Dad, In the Sora Empire we exist in, we can-"
"No excuse. This is the past, not the future. We follow the rules of the time that we are in, Hinata. Aido, I apologize for my daughter's reckless actions. Hinata is generous when it comes to offering blood, but she knows that she's not allowed to offer her blood to anyone but her family or her lover."
I sighed.
"Okay, Dad... Sorry, Aido..." I answered.
"It's fine, Hina... I'm just going to go downstairs for a cup of tea before I go..." Aido said nervously as he went down the stairs.
"Why don't you get ready for tonight if you are awake already? We are leaving to the Sora Empire tonight to witness the ceremony."
"Oh yeah... I forgot about that..."
"Well, if you are wide awake, then you should get ready for tonight, so that you can have everything done beforehand."
"All right then. And what are you going to do?" I asked.
He smiled. "Try to see if I can remember some things.."
That's right... I forgot that Father had lost his memories, but Mother never told me how he lost them.
As Dad began walking back to his room, I called out to him.
"I'm sure you'll remember. I'm positive of it."
"Thank you, Hinata." He kindly said as he turned around, looking at me with his gentle smile.
I smiled back at him. "When this is all over, and when you regain your memories, we can just start fresh when we get back home to our Sora Empire. Put away the past, and focus on the present."
"I will do that." He answered, as he continued walking to his room.
I sighed. "Well, I guess I'll start looking for an outfit for tonight."
I turned around and started making my way back to my room.
~Serenity Tsukiyomi~
"We're going to be late to our lecture, Kaname. And we are the ones who are supposed to provide an example..." I said as I put on my long black socks.
"I couldn't help myself. You were just so alluring, I couldn't hold back..." Kaname answered as he put on his uniform jacket.
"And because of that, we are running late. We are only taking showers together only when we have free time on our schedules." I said with a pout as I slipped on my boots.
"That is fine with me. That lets me look forward to one of our days off." Kaname stated with a smirk.
I sighed. "Let's go, Kaname.." I said as I opened the door.
"Of course." He answered, following me.
As we walked downstairs, Aido and Akatsuki were already sitting on the couch, and Ichijo and Rina were having some sort of conversation.
The others still are probably sleeping, as they are taking care of the lectures in the afternoon.
I'm so exhausted...
"Good morning, Kaname, Serenity! Did you both sleep well?" Ichijo asked with his usual cheerful expression.
"Yeah." Kaname answered.
"Even though I could use some more rest right now..." I said with a yawn, stretching my arms a bit.
"The Headmaster wants us to coexist by lecturing classes. I find that funny..." Aido said, as he took a sip of his tea.
"I'm sure it's not that bad. I think interacting with them is a great path to coexistence." I said cheerfully.
"Serenity, if you don't mind me asking, do Royal Purebloods approve of coexistence with humans?" Ichijo asked curiously.
"Well, the main reason that we split from the other vampire races is because we didn't want to be involved with the other races. However, eventually, the representative system was formed to maintain a connection with the other vampire races, and my father became the first representative when my grandmother was the Empress at the time. My father has always talked about how vampires should coexist with the human race to create a better world, but I'm not so sure about the other kingdoms."
"Speaking for the Kaze Kingdom, I think that my parents would prefer to keep things just the way they are right now. Even if there is a possibility for coexistence with humans, it won't be with us Royal Purebloods. My family still believes that we should remain in the shadows and continue watching things occur from a distance. We wish to not be involved in matters unless they are very important, like this one."
"I think that from my perspective, there is a future that everyone can live together. It can be today, it can be tomorrow, or even years or months... But in order for this to happen, we have to assure that my uncle and his allies are taken care of."
"Of course." Ichijo stated.
"Oh my goodness, the time... Kaname, let's go!" I stated as I took his hand and made our way to the front door.
"Relax. We have ten minutes to get there."
"Not enough for me. I'd rather be there nice and early so we know what we are going to teach!"
"Serenity... Those Day Class students are not going to pay attention to anything we try to teach them. No mater how much we try, they will do nothing but ask personal questions." Kaname said with a sigh.
"So what are we going to do then?"
"We'll let them ask questions. But they have to ask us in French. Then we'll answer back to them in Japanese. That way, they are learning while asking us the questions."
"Wow... I actually had never thought of it that way..."
"Hence why you have your husband here to help you out when you need it." Kaname answered with a smirk.
"Heh...." I answered.
As we were making our way to the academy building, many Day Class students were looking at us. Well, it's not everyday that we are walking around the academy at that same, exact time.
"Look it's Tsukiyomi-senpai and Kuran-senpai!"
"They are lecturing the morning French class today..."
"They are so lucky... I wish they got to teach my French class... But it's fine because Shiraishi-senpai is going to be teaching it along with Kuroki-senpai during the afternoon French class, so it's fine!"
I giggled as we continued to pass by the Day Class students that were looking at us.
When we made it inside the building, Kaname and I continued walking without looking at any of the Day Class students. By not looking at them, they'll keep their distance from us.
"Serenity-chan is so pretty.... I know! Let's nominate her for Midnight Queen!" One of the Day Class boys whispered.
Midnight Queen? What is that...
"Midnight Queen is another of the Headmaster's ridiculous ideas to promote coexistence. The Day Class nominates a male and a female from the Night Class to become "King and Queen of the Night" and they then do a special dance during the Midnight Ball that is going to be held this year."
"Midnight Ball?"
"Yes, it's held at midnight, and only about 100 Day Class students can attend. The reason that there is a limit is because since Kiryu and Yuuki are the only Disciplinary Committee members, the Headmaster wishes to not stress them out."
"That sounds a bit unsafe... Don't we have vampires that sometimes lose control out of bloodthirst?"
"That won't be a problem. I will see to it that everyone has had their blood tablets before setting foot in that ballroom. And if one decides to break the rules, then I'll make sure that they are punished."
"You punish?" I said with a giggle.
"When it is absolutely necessary, yes. There was a day when Aido broke the rules and took blood from a Day Class girl. Her memories of course, were erased."
I giggled. "Do I count in that situation as well?"
"No.... Unless you want me to." He said with a seductive smirk.
"Oh, Kaname... I was just joking. You can't punish a Royal Pureblood!" I said with a laugh.
Since it seemed that all the Day Class students were in their classrooms, Kaname gently pulled me against the wall.
"You must have misunderstood, I wasn't talking about punishing you with pain. I was talking about punishing you with pleasure..." He whispered into my ear.
I felt like my face turned into fifty shades of red. Why is it that everytime he whispers into my ear, he gets me all excited?
"Kaname... we should get to class. Everyone's waiting for us..." I whispered, trying to escape from his eyes that never wavered.
Kaname sighed. "All right...." He answered.
I cleared the dust from my uniform and I had opened the classroom door. Once we entered, everyone's eyes were on us.
"As usual, Serenity-chan is so cool!" One of the Day Class boys sitting in the back said.
"Kuran-senpai is looking as handsome as usual! I'm so voting for them to be the Midnight King and Queen!"
"Really? I know Kuran and Tsukiyomi are together, but for some odd reason, I have always shipped her with Ryuzaki." Another of the Day Class boys said.
"Satsuki Ryuzaki?! Really? Why though?" Another girl said.
"Because....I dunno... they just look perfect together, in my opinion. But one thing I can be confident of is, all the boys here can agree with me. And maybe some of the girls as well..." That same boy said.
Kaname's expression already looked annoyed by everyone's comments, however he maintained his calm.
I had noticed that Yuuki-san was looking at us with a sad smile. I don't like the girl, but sometimes I feel bad for her. I know she likes Kaname a lot... But I can't help it...
"Minna! Quiet, please. Class is about to begin." I called out to the class.
It then got quiet, and everyone's eyes were on us.
"This is how today's class is going to work. Serenity and I know you all have questions to ask, so this is how it will work. You may ask us questions, but you must ask them in French. Then either Serenity or I will answer them to you in French and you're going have to think about what we said. That way, you have your questions answered, and you are all learning at the same time." Kaname stated.
"Ehhhhhh???" Everyone called out in surprise.
They then took out their textbooks, and others began to think to what they were going to say.
"Questions...?" I asked.
"Um... Tsu-Tsukiyomi-senpai?"
I then called out to a girl who was sitting behind Yuuki.
"You in the back, behind Yuuki-san."
"U-Umm..."
She was looking back and forth at her dictionary to come up with a sentence.
"U-Umm...Depuis combien... de temps vous et... Kuran-senpai vous conn...connaissiez-vous?"
(How long have you known Kuran-senpai for?)
I giggled. Well, I met him when I was five years old, so..
"Environ treize ans."
(About thirteen years.)
"Wow! That's a long time!" She answered.
I nodded my head in response.
Then the next to raise their hand was a male who was behind Zero.
"So, Kuran...Comment est-il comme datant de Serenity-chan?"
(So, Kuran...how's it like dating Serenity-chan?)
Kaname smirked at this question, and then answered.
"Serenity est une très gentille et douce jeune fille. Je suis fier d'être celui qui se démarque par son côté. Elle est la seule pour moi." Kaname answered as he looked at me with his gentle eyes.
(She is a very kind and sweet girl. I am proud to be the one that stands by her side. She is the only one for me.)
As Kaname was answering his question, the guy kept flipping over the book to understand Kaname's answer.
I smiled at his answer.
Then I looked over, and to my surprise, Zero had his hand raised.
"Zero? What's your question?"
"Oi, Serenity...Je veux sortir pour certains shio ramen. Envie de retourner à cet endroit pour les anciens temps du ciel?"
(I want go out for some shio ramen. Want to go back to that place for old times' sake?)
I giggled.
"Kiryu.... Serenity est la mienne. N'essayez pas d'emmener loin de moi maintenant." Kaname answered as he glared at Zero.
(Kiryu.... Serenity is mine. Don't try taking her away from me now.)
"Je ne suis pas. Je suis tout simplement lui demander de venir avec moi à un moment donné ont ramen. Et je sais très bien qu'elle t'aime Kuran alors n'allez pas tous à moins possessifs vous voulez vraiment un problème avec moi." Zero answered with a smirk.
(I'm not. I'm simply asking her to come have ramen with me sometime. And I know fully well that she loves you Kuran so don't go all possessive unless you really want a problem with me.)
"W-what are they saying? They are talking too fast!"
It's good that they don't know what they are talking about at the moment...
The Class President then stood up. "What I understood is that Kiryu asked Tsukiyomi on a date!"
Oh, no.... Here comes the miscalculations. No one knows Zero is a childhood friend of mine.
"Next question, please..." I said, attempting to change the subject.
The questions kept going on and some were able to understand the answers, and some were unable to.
~after class~
Kaname and I were walking out of the classroom as classes concluded and there were Day Class males and females who weren't in the class running in our direction.
He took my hand and ran quickly into an empty classroom.
"Serenity, I need to go to the Headmaster's office to tell him we are done. Feel free to go ahead of me. Beware of the Day Class students."
"All right."
Kaname smiled at me and planted a kiss on my forehead.
"See you back in my room? Or your room?"
I blushed. "How about my room this time?" I answered.
"Of course. See you then." He said, walking out from the classroom.
"Serenity-san?" Yuuki called out to me as I exited the classroom.
"Yuuki. Hello."
"Umm... I'll escort you back to the Moon Dormitory so that they don't go after you..."
"Sure. Thank you." I answered.
As we left the building, Yuuki was quiet and nervous as well. I know she's scared of me, and she most likely hates me, but...
"Serenity-san... I can't deny my feelings any longer." Yuuki said as she stopped walking, her bangs casting a shadow over her eyes.
"And?"
"I love Kaname-senpai. I know... I understand that you two are a married couple, but... I just felt like I have to tell you that... And I refuse to give up these feelings."
I smiled, hiding my anger, since it seemed like she was so confident that she doesn't want to give up.
"Yuuki, why don't we have a seat over there at the fountain? Everyone already is in class, so we don't have to worry about getting attention."
"O-Okay...."
We both sat down on the fountain and I looked at her, my eyes not wavering. She looked away, a bit scared of my unwavering eyes.
"Continue."
"Serenity-san... I love him. I know that this is wrong... He's your husband, your special one. You both have known each other for a long time and I can see why you two are together. But... I love him too... He saved me ten years ago... If it wasn't for him then...I could have been..."
My hands formed into fists as they rested on my lap.
I never saw him again that day he saved her... But calm down, Serenity. It's your fault too. Calm down.
"Yuuki, are you sure those feelings are out of love...? Or do you want to repay him because he saved you on that snowy night...?" I asked calmly.
Her eyes widened as soon as I had said that.
"Wait... How do you know that it was a snowy night...?" Yuuki asked.
"That is the night I disappeared from everyone's existence...." I whispered.
"What?"
"Nothing. Anyways, I just know. I am with him, after all."
"Y-Yeah. You're right."
"Yuuki, find your happiness. I know you love Kaname, but I think you need to look back on your true feelings. You are confused. I sense you have feelings for Zero as well. I understand that they both played a big part in your past, but the same is for me. But I know my heart belongs to Kaname."
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"Well, Kaname and I have been married since we were eight years old, so we know each other a great deal. As for Zero, he is a childhood friend of mine. I knew both his parents and his brother. I was there when that woman attacked."
Yuuki gasped. "Then....then if you are the most powerful of the vampire race, then why didn't you kill her? If you did, Zero's family could have been saved!"
"I will not go into detail about that." I said as I stood up.
I wanted to rip her apart for doing what she did to Zero's family, but for some reason, I just couldn't... I just sent her away...
"I need to get back to the dorms. I can keep going on my own from here, Yuuki. You should be getting to your next class."
"O-Of course." She answered.
I then turned around and made my way back to the Moon Dorms.
~Third Person PoV~
In a mansion within the depths of the forest, Aito and Akio were preparing for their departure to Sora Empire.
~play the song~
"Finally... with this serum, Hinata will finally become mine again."
"There goes your obsession with her again.... " Akio stated as he was getting some things together in his backpack.
"You saw it, Akio. She still loves me. Better yet, she is still infatuated with me... That vampire has her entranced, that's all."
"Dude, from what I heard, you almost raped her."
"I did not! I just wanted to reassure her who she belonged with! I had no intention of hurting her in any shape or form."
Akio sighed. "You're just lucky that Empress Serenity was benevolent. She banished us from the Sora Empire."
"Banishing us didn't change anything. We will complete our original goal... and Hinata will be mine once again, one way or another."
Akio sighed.
"Whatever. But just know that Emperor Kaname is here as well."
"Heh, what does he know? He lost most of his memories." Aito said with a smirk.
"He is still dangerous. He is blessed with some of Empress Serenity's powers. You put one hand on Princess Hinata, who knows what is going to happen to you."
"I'll just make sure that he doesn't notice. I'll write a fake letter that is supposedly from her precious Mitsuru, and lure her out. With that, I'll be sure to knock her unconscious and bring her back to Lord Kei so that he can get whatever information that he needs from her. She will become mine, no matter what! Anyone who tries to separate us.... I'll kill them!"
"You need to watch out for her boyfriend, though. "
"Yamamoto doesn't even know that she is here..." Aito answered.
"Empress Serenity could have told him. You know that he always assures her safety."
'i don't even know how the hell he even reached her heart! He's just a stupid Level B Aristocrat!" Aito said angrily as he hit the wall with his fist.
"Aito, what the hell?! Your hand is bleeding!" Akio worriedly said.
"Hinata Kuran is mine.... She's mine.... and no one else's! If I have to, until she fades away, I'll lock her up in a room, tie her up, and make sure to drug her to assure that she does not escape. I'll even put her in a place where no one could find her! Not even sense her presence!" Aito said, a creepy smile beginning to form on his face.
Aito then went to the cabinet to get a piece of cloth to wipe the blood clean.
"Oops... I shouldn't have done that. I'm going to have to wrap this up...." He added, getting the first aid kit from the cabinet.
The two brothers continued to prepare for their trip to the Sora Empire to fulfill their goal.
~hours later, Serenity Tsukiyomi's PoV~
I was in my room, packing a few more things for my trip back home. Of course, since Hina didn't lecture, she was here with me, as she was all ready and dressed up. I, on the other hand was wearing a casual dress with a brown belt. I wore some simple flats, just not to get the attention of the citizens.
"Don't forget these, Serenity." Hina said, handing a bottle of perfume over to me.
"Oh! Thank you. This one is actually Kaname's favorite. He loves the scent of roses." I stated.
"Yeah, I know that. Mother always puts a fresh bouquet of red roses in his office every two weeks. I would see her at the gardens, picking up some flowers."
"I see..." I stated with a smile as I put the perfume in my suitcase.
"All done!" I cheerfully said.
I cannot wait to go and see my family back at the castle!
"You know, I never met my grandparents.... So this will be an excellent opportunity to see them."
Oh yeah... I remember that my parents had told me that once Kaname and I succeed the throne, they fall to rest, so she was unable to have the opportunity to see them...
"Well, you will get to see them. they think that you are my cousin, so you'll be fine. You'll have the opportunity to meet them!" I said cheerfully.
Hina responded with a smile.
"Then I am looking forward to it!"
I finished packing, and looked at the time.
"7pm.... My parents told us to be there by 10, to then start the ceremony at midnight." I answered.
*knock knock*
"Yes?" I called out.
"It's Kaname."
I smiled and made my way to the door, then opening it.
Kaname was dressed up casually as well, as he was wearing a white buttoned shirt with black pants.
"Are you both all ready? Our driver is waiting at the entrance of the academy." Kaname asked.
"Yeah. By the way, where's Father?" Hina asked curiously.
"He is waiting for us in the car, which means we should get going. We do not want to keep him waiting, for he is an impatient man." Kaname stated with a smirk.
"We know the feeling..." Hina and I said in unison.
"And what is that supposed to mean?" Kaname asked.
"Hehe, nothing... Let's go." I stated, taking his hand and making our way past the hallways and down the stairs.
"By the way, where are the others?" I asked curiously.
"You mean Azusa, Rina, Satsuki, and Aiko?" He answered.
I nodded my head.
"They went ahead in another car."
"Then let's get going then. We don't want our guests to wait for us." Hina replied.
The three of us made our way to the car, and entered.
The Emperor was sitting patiently, wearing his cloak, dressed formally in a suit with a golden tie. Wow.... he looks so...majestic. Kaname's gonna look that in the upcoming future....
"You may go." I stated to the driver.
The car pulled forward as we made our way to Sora Castle....
