Chapter Eight- Dating

The following day, I woke up to the house being silent. I got out of bed and went to the living where Bradley had spent the night. He was on the couch asleep. I then went to the kitchen to start making my lunch and meal prepping. I tried to be quiet and careful so Bradley wouldn't wake up. I then heard Bradley get off the couch and go to the bathroom. A few minutes later, he came out and washed his hands beside me. "Good morning. Sorry if I woke up." I said.

"It's fine. I have to go to work anyway." He explained. "What are you making?" He asked me, looking over my shoulder. "I'm making my lunch and meal prepping. I meant to do it yesterday, but I forgot." I explained. "Why do you meal prep?" He asked. "For lunches. You don't pack a lunch?" I asked him. "Not really," He replied. "Do you want me to?"I asked him. "No, thank you," He said.

I continued to cut up the fruit and put it in their containers. Bradley stood beside in on the left, watching my every movement. "Bradley? Why are you staring  at me like that?" I asked. "No reason," He said. He went up to me and lightly grabbed my arm. I turned to him, and he was staring me in the eyes. "Will you go on a date with me tonight, Heather?" He asked me. "Yes," I replied.

"Do you want me to take you to work now, and you can pick up your car later?" I asked him. "No, thank you. I appreciate you letting me stay here." He said, "You're welcome," I replied. I finished meal prepping and packing my lunch.  We then left my apartment. I drove him to the park where his car was. I watched Bradley drive away and then drove to work.

After work, I drove home, and Bradley agreed to meet me there. Once I got home. I unpacked my lunch and did the dishes. I then went to take a shower. After I got out of the shower, I was wrapping my body in a towel when I heard a noise from the kitchen. I went to investigate and saw Bradley standing In the doorway. "What the hell are you doing here!" I yelled, gripping my towel.

"I let myself in. I hope that's not a problem." He said. "It's okay, but you can't walk in whenever!" I yelled. "The door was unlocked. Sorry if I scared you." He said. I walked to my bedroom to get dressed. I started to get dressed when I heard a soft knock at the door. "Who is it?" I asked. "It's Bradley," I heard him say. I finished putting on my shirt and then told him he can come in. I sat on the side of the bed before he walked in.

Bradley opened the door slowly and stood there. "You can come in," I said. He then walked into the room. "Look, I'm sorry for walking in like that." He applied once again. "It's fine," I replied. "So, this is your room?" He asked curiously. "Yes," I replied. I began looking around the room looking at everything.

He then sat next to me. Bradley was dressed nicely. I didn't notice before because I was more worried about him walking in. He smelled good. He smelt like cologne and cigarettes. He sat close to me. So close I could smell his breath. I began to get nervous. My hands were starting to sweat, and I started to fidget with my hands.

"Are you okay?" He asked. Before I got a chance to speak, he spoke for me. "Nervous, aren't you?" He asked. "Yes," I replied. "Don't be," He said. He softly grabbed my face and we matched eyes. We stared at the eyes of each other for a few seconds. "Heather, I like you." He said. I didn't reply. I just sat there again In silence. He then let go, got up, and left the room. He came back a few seconds later. "I'll let you get ready,"  He said and walked away.

Felt confused. He was sending me all these mixed feelings. I got ready and did my hair and makeup. About an hour later, I was done. I walked out of my room feeling good about myself. I walked into the living room, and Bradley was sitting on the couch on her phone. He then slowly looked up. "Oh, Heather! You look so good!" He said, getting up and walking over to me.

"Thank you. Are you ready?" I asked. "Yes, let's go," He said. We then my apartment, and I got to put any place I wanted to eat. I didn't want to put anything expensive, so I picked a normal restaurant for us to eat at.

The night went great. We talked and had lots of laughs. It was the most fun I had with a guy in years. After we had eaten, we went back to my apartment. We walked through the door and took off my heels. They had hurt me throughout the night. I noticed that Bradley had gone away once again. I walked down the hall, looking for him. He was standing in my bedroom looking at the walls.

"Bradley?" I said. He jumped and whipped his head around. He looked nervous standing there. "What's up? Why are you standing here?" I asked. "Heather? I have something to ask you." He said. "Yeah, what's up?" I asked him. He turned his whole body to face mine. "Heather, will you be my girlfriend?" He asked me.

I felt shocked. I didn't expect him to ask so fast. I didn't know what to say at the moment. I wanted to yes. We stood there making eye contact for a few seconds in silence. "Heather?" He asked. "Yes," I replied. He then gave me the biggest hug ever. He also smiled, which he barely did.

Our hug got interrupted by a phone call. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and saw it was Mila. I answered the phone. She started to talk so fast and so loud that I couldn't understand what she was saying. I then made out she was coming over and asked if it could only be us two. I figured it was something about Henry.

I then hung up the phone and looked up at Bradley. "What was that about?" He asked. "I don't even know. " I replied with a loud sigh. "Mila will be, Mila," I said. "I'm sorry, Bradley, but you have to leave," I explained. "Thank you for this," I said, hugging him again.

Bradley soon left. A few minutes after he left, Mila came busting through the door. "Mila, what's your problem?" I asked annoyed."Heather, you need to stop seeing Bradley." She said. I was tired of Mila saying crazy stuff about Bradley.

I felt no fear around him. "Not this again," I said walking to my room. "Heather, please listen!" She yelled while following me. Mila walked into the room with tears in her eyes. "Mila, you're drunk again! Go home!" I yelled. "This is nonsense! This has to stop, Mila! You're confusing me! First, you want me to meet a man. I meet this amazing guy, and now I'm happy, and you're ruining it all!" I explained. I hadn't been so mad in a long time. I was out of breath from speaking so fast. "There is nothing wrong with Bradley, and that's the end!" I yelled.

"Fine. When something happens, don't come back crying to me. You should stop being so naive, Heather." She said in a serious tone. She then walked out the front door and left. After a long day, I finally went to bed.
