Continuing from the previous part:-

Mahi's P.O.V :

My eyes fell on Adhvait who looks again expressionless which means he again wore this facade to cope up with situation or is it even a facade ?

At this point I don't know what is true and what is lie .

"Hey Addy how's things going for you ? Look i found your 'FRIEND' but she seems to be in hurry to get away from mansion but i wonder why ? Did you misbehaved with her or does she broke your heart?"  Prithvi taunt us and my blood boiled in anger but surprisingly Adhvait is standing with straight face as if he didn't care .

"Prithvi what are you doing here ?" comes Pari's voice and looking at her clears that she isn't happy seeing here .

Prithvi's face hardened in annoyance and he corrected her  "Prithvi bhaiya(big brother) you should pay me respect as I'm your older brother ., have you become this brat that you don't know how to talk with elders" .

Okay this is something new as I never witnessed Prithvi talking with Pari in this way ., Pari was always very pampered by her family as in her parents and Adhvait and all of her relatives too never pinpointed any of her mistakes or bad behaviour but today Prithvi ordering her around that's kind of unbelievable for me .

I look towards Pari who is fuming in anger but Prithvi causally walks in mansion without giving any heed to her .

"Go away from here"  is the only thing Adhvait said before following Prithvi and Pari too marched behind her brothers leaving me in pool of questions.

With disappointed I decided to go to hospital cause this is not the right time to ask for my dues from Randhawa family in fact if i knew  about Balwant's sir untimely death news beforehand i never come here in first place but alas.

Thinking all this i reach hospital and deposit bills .

We bring Manu back home as it's expensive for us to kept him in hospital ., doctors assured us that he'll come out of coma in six-eight months but till then we need to take proper care of him .

As usual baba is drown in alcohol and his gambling Maa took up some night shift housekeeping job at near by hostel area and i too took up housekeeping job in morning in a school , we try to never leave Manu alone like if i go to work Maa stayed with him and when she goes to work i stayed like this 1 month passed and we are hoping for some improvements in Manu's condition.

In this past month my mind kept wondering about Adhvait how he is and does he still see me as a culprit but i shut these thoughts saying he never really loved me it was all a drama maybe he wanted to sleep with me that's why put on that fake drama or maybe something else like he wants to insult my love again in front of his friends or something(stuff showed in movies and shows) 'Mahi he never loved you' I repeated in my head to convince myself but this stupid heart of mine kept denying it .

One night i kept on waiting for Maa to come back but instead i received a call from nearby police station that they arrested Maa in some stealing case ., what nonsense Maa can never do something like that there must be some confusion i look towards Manu who i have to left alone but what can i do taking Maa out of jail is also very important so i rushed towards police station.

"Inspector sir that watchman is laying my mother can never do such thing please try to understand sir" i try to explain it inspector besides why would Maa steal from hostel anything when she just got job and it pays enough.

Inspector said while going through some files "I can understands it kid but we found stolen stuff from your mother's bag also watchman confirmed it that he saw her stealing those things i think you should get some money to get a lawyer as your mother's case will go in court on Monday there only judge can decide what to do next" .

What court ! means they kept maa here for 2 days ! how Maa survive here !

"Mahi I didn't stole anything that watchman is laying trust me beta" maa said with tears in her weak eyes .

"Maa I trust you and don't worry I try to do something to get you out of this mess" I cupped her face to assure her that I'm here for her but lady jailer told me to go as it's passed meeting time so I had to come out of police station.

My mind is not working where to go for help what to do to get maa out of police custody !

"Mahi come here" baba's voice came from our house window and i panicked thinking about Manu .

I rushed in our house only to find Jaggi sitting in with baba . What is he doing here ?

They both seemed to heard my mind so they talking and I cursed my life after hearing them .

Baba who is sitting near his legs said "Mahi I heard about your mother's arrest and as i know you don't have money or any idea to save her i proposed an option for you to take her out of jail" .

Confused by it i looks on and he shamelessly uttered "Jaggi sir here comes with an proposal that if you agreed to marry him he'll tell that watchman to take back his statement and your mother's case be cleared also he is going to give 5 lakhs in exchange of marriage" .

My world shattered proposing such thing to me he even smiling like he told me such wonderful idea or giving me an fairytale life is he even a father or broker !

Jaggi smiled arrogantly as if he won something which cleared everything for me so it was his plan to framed Maa to get me weak and made me ready for marriage.

"Baba i can't say anything to him because he is nobody to me but you ! how can you bait your own daughter for money you didn't even spared your wife who kept giving you everything from years how can you be so shameless!" I try to confront my father huh father he is anything but a father for us(her and her brother) still there is this very tiny hope in me that maybe hearing these things he get back into his senses.

But showed me his alcohol bottle along with a bundle of money and said "look Mahi you have to marry someday right and there won't be any prince charming coming to marry you so why do this drama besides do it as an favour to your mother and Manu as you know 5 lakhs is a decent amount I'll give 1 lakh for manu's treatment., if you can be useful for your family then why to question me after all you always wanted to do things for your maa and brother then do it opportunity is in front of you" .

He throw that bundle towards me and I for final time asked him "baba tell me if at my place your mother standing would you sell her too for money! Tell me do you become like this under the influence of alcohol or are you born as a motherf*cking pimp" .

And in an instant he stood up slapping me hard on my face as my words hurt his ego which is ironic as he here selling me and expect me to respect him .

"You—- but Jaggi came in between him and me stopping him to beat me further

"Stop it I don't want any marks on my bride's face in wedding photos" saying this Jaggi pushed my father away from me and turned to me asking "look Mahi I don't have time to see family drama just tell me do you accept my offer or not ? I can guarantee to treat you as a queen after marriage or are you willing to see your mother rotting in jail and your brother bedridden!"

My self esteem won't agreeing for it but the situations didn't left any choice for me after all it's my mistake...it's my mistake to be born as a poor person and a poor person doesn't have any choice in life .

So with heavy heart and crushing my self esteem I agreed for his proposal at least by doing this I can save maa and get money for manu's treatment...

Five days later :-

I'm sitting in my room wear this red salwar kameez as it's my wedding dress. People around me gossiping among themselves about how I'm marrying with a man who is as old as my father just for money but i care less about it as i understood one thing the one has money has all the power to do whatever he/she wants just like how Jaggi is doing what he wants.

Maa is sitting beside me and silently crying on my fate but i kept on assuring her that everything will be alright .. huh if only i can assure the same to myself.

Jaggi fulfilled his promise as he get maa out of jail and cleared that case too filed by that hostel owner and watchman., Manu is also admitted back in hospital for proper treatment so it's time for me to fulfil my promise.

Baba told me to wait in room and come out when he called as this wedding is like an court marriage where i have to sign papers and marriage is done cause Jaggi is already married 2 times with all the traditional rituals so he just marrying me on papers or better say just to have a proof if in future i try to ran away from him .

Gun shoot sound be heard which confused/scared me .

Other ladies present in my room ran out to see what happened along with my maa shouting can be heard too and i too thought to look what happened but before I was to do that comes Adhvait in my room .

He is dressed in all black and he is holding a gun in his hand what a gun ! from where he gets it and what is he doing here ?

I stood up in complete horror and ask him "Adhvait what are you doing here?"

He pulls me towards him and say in deep deadly tone "you told me that you love me and now marrying that old c*nt how unfair it is Mahi" .

With that he took me out of room with him ...
