Jungkook's Pov
Two weeks. I couldn't leave my own penthouse because of my father's orders. Food and other supplies were brought to me, but I was essentially grounded. I told my father that I had to find Moon, but he denied my request, saying I needed to stay put to gain his trust. I spent all my time inside that damn penthouse, mostly in Moon's bedroom, on her bed, hugging some of her clothes. I missed her like crazy. I wanted to call her and talk to her, but I couldn't. My routine was just eating, working out, hugging her clothes to sleep, and repeating the cycle.
Another two weeks passed, making it a whole month. During those weeks, my father made me run errands like inspecting warehouses and attending meetings. The media was another pain. Jimin couldn't reach me because of my father's strict permissions. For Moon, I must have looked like a lost puppy, always trailing behind my father. Now, I was in the courthouse where my father was discussing some of his retirement plans. If I got the title of the Mafia King, I could do anything—bring Moon to Seoul and marry her. I was deep in my thoughts when I heard my name being called.
"Jungkook!" My father's voice snapped me back to reality.
I straightened up and looked at him, trying to mask my inner turmoil. "Yes, Father?"
"Are you paying attention?" he asked, his eyes narrowing.
"Yes, I am," I lied, forcing myself to focus.
My father continued talking about his plans, but my mind drifted back to Moon.
After the meeting, I followed my father out of the courthouse. He glanced at me, suspicion in his eyes. "You better not disappear anywhere," he warned. "I don't trust you. You're not that teenage, reckless Jungkook anymore. You're at the age to get married."
"I understand, Father," I said, bowing my head slightly, ignoring his comment about marriage.
As we walked to the car, I knew I had to find a way to gain his trust. The title of Mafia King was my only chance to take control and protect Moon. I had to play along, bide my time, and prove myself.
My father got into the car first, and I followed. The drive back to the estate was silent, filled with tension. I glanced out the window, my thoughts racing. I had to be careful, but I couldn't let Moon down. She was counting on me, even if she didn't know it.
Back at the penthouse, I headed straight to my room. I needed a plan. I couldn't keep going on like this, a puppet under my father's control. I grabbed my phone and typed a quick message to Jimin.
"Jimin... man, are you in Seoul?"
"No... Daegu... hyung home," he replied, being cautious. If my phone was tracked, it would be very problematic for both of us. I sighed, relieved that he was with her and she was safe.
"Working there? Health okay?" I typed, hoping he would understand my coded message.
"Better..." he replied. I sighed in relief. She was okay. Oh god, she was okay. I stood up from the bed, tears streaming down my face. I was crying, damn it, crying in happiness. She was okay.
I paced the room, unable to contain the mix of emotions swirling inside me. My heart felt lighter than it had in weeks.
I wiped my tears away and sat back down, taking a deep breath to steady myself. Knowing that Moon was safe gave me the strength I needed to keep going, to play my part convincingly until the time was right.
Over the next few days, I threw myself into the tasks my father assigned me, showing him that I was serious about earning his trust. I worked tirelessly, determined to prove my loyalty while keeping Moon's safety in mind.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, I slumped down in the car, exhausted. My mind raced with thoughts of Moon—she was okay, I kept reassuring myself. Lost in my thoughts, I suddenly noticed the car I was in had stopped.
"What's going on?" I demanded of the driver, but he remained silent.
"Get out of the car," he finally said, his voice urgent.
"What the hell—" I started, but froze when the driver turned to look at me—it was Jimin. My heart pounded with panic.
"Go! I've got another car parked nearby. Hurry, Jungkook, there are students around it is crowded now Go!," Jimin urged, scanning the surroundings.
"But Jimin, you'll be in danger—" I began, unable to lose my friend.
"Just go! Daegu, Moon's waiting and crying for you. I'll handle this," he insisted. "I can't stand seeing my sister cry."
I hesitated, unsure. "Are you sure?"
"Jungkook, bro, trust me. Go!" he yelled urgently. "I'll take care of this. But be careful. The Kims are watching."
His words spurred me into action. With a quick glance at the crowd gathering, I sprinted out of the car. Spotting a lone black car nearby, I dashed towards it, tossed my phone away, and jumped in. With adrenaline pumping, I started the engine and sped off. Free at last, heading straight for Daegu.
"I am coming my Love" I whisperd.
