Brown guilty eyes

___

Jungkook's POV

I was so engrossed in talking and brushing Moon's hair that I didn't process the sudden change until I felt the cold metal of a gun pressing against the back of my head. Moon stiffened beside me. Jimin was still babbling his words, but I was frozen, my heart pounding.

I lost sight of the shadows in the room as I was frozen, Moon beside me, her body language shifting to nervousness and anxiety. A gun was pressed against my head. Dad? Why would he press a gun to me?

"Long time no see, huh, Jeon?" a familiar husky voice said.

Kim Taehyung.

Jimin stopped speaking when he realized I hadn't said a word. I was trying to keep calm because of Moon, but she slowly lifted her head away from me and looked back. Her eyes were watering, and her chin was wobbling.

"J...J...Jungkook?" I heard Jimin's nervous voice, but I chose to stay silent, moving my head down along with the phone, hoping Jimin was smart enough not to hang up.

"Kim," I said, standing up slowly.

I heard the sound of a gun being loaded. As I turned, the first thing I saw was Kim Taehyung pointing his P90 at me. Seokjin was leaning against the wall, and several more guys had their guns aimed at me. I chuckled. "Look, I'm unarmed, and you're all armed."

"Not fair," I muttered, trying to grab Moon, but she was standing a bit away from me. Confused, I looked at her. No... I shouldn't think like that. Is she...? She wasn't looking at me. Both Kim brothers were standing calm and composed. What is happening?

"Moon?" I called out softly, my voice tinged with uncertainty. She glanced at me briefly, then quickly averted her gaze. My heart sank as doubt crept in. Could she have...?

Taehyung smirked, breaking the silence. "Surprised to see us, Jeon? Or are you more surprised by her?" he taunted, nodding toward Moon.

Seokjin stepped forward, his expression unreadable. "Let's make this simple. You come with us quietly, and no one gets hurt. Resist, and..." He left the threat hanging in the air.

I took a deep breath, my mind racing. "What do you want?" I demanded, trying to keep my voice steady.

Taehyung's smirk widened. "Oh, you'll find out soon enough."

Moon finally spoke, her voice trembling. "Jungkook, please... just do as they say."

Her words hit me like a punch to the gut. I looked into her eyes, searching for any sign of reassurance, but all I saw was fear and something else I couldn't quite place. Betrayal? No, it couldn't be. My mind raced, replaying every moment we had shared. Had it all been a lie? Her trembling lips and the way she avoided my gaze gnawed at me.

Was she part of this from the beginning? Did she know what was happening, or was she just as much a pawn in their game as I was? The thought of her betraying me felt like a dagger to my heart. Moon is my safe haven. The idea that she might have deceived me was almost too painful to bear. But her eyes—they told a story of their own, one I couldn't fully understand yet.

"Owww, lover boy, our Romeo," Taehyung grinned. "Out of all the girls in Seoul, you got our sister, huh?" His tone dripped with sarcasm, but I ignored his taunts, my eyes searching desperately for Moon. She stood nearby, looking down and avoiding my gaze. Was all of this a trap? All of—

"Love?," I called out softly, my voice tinged with disbelief and hurt. I hoped for a response, an explanation, but she remained silent, her shoulders tense and her expression unreadable.

Taehyung's grin widened as he reveled in the tension. "You see, Jeon, you've been playing in our territory without even knowing it. And now, it's time to pay."

Seokjin intervened, his voice cutting through the tense atmosphere. "Enough, Taehyung. We have what we came for." He nodded towards me, signaling his men to move in.

I was grabbed roughly by the guards, and pushed forward, but my eyes remained fixed on Moon. Seokjin approached her, opening his overcoat and draping it over her shoulders. She stood there, immobilized, and she didn't protest. Why would she? He was her brother, after all. The realization hit me like a wave—she was part of this, and I hadn't seen it coming. Jimin was in danger because of this, and he had been threatened by my own father. How had I missed all of this? Was everything a lie?

Moon, standing there under her brother's coat, appeared distant yet strangely composed. Had she been coerced into this deception, or was she a willing participant all along? The pain of uncertainty gnawed at me as I replayed moments in my mind, searching for clues I might have missed.

Taehyung's mocking words echoed in my ears, but they were drowned out by the realization that my world had been upended. My trust had been shattered, not just in Moon but in everything I thought I knew. Jimin's warnings, the sudden appearance of the Kims—it all pointed to a meticulously staged plan, and I had unwittingly played my part.

As we approached a waiting vehicle, I stole one last glance at Moon. She met my gaze briefly, and in that fleeting moment, I saw a flash of emotion—was it regret, sadness, or something else entirely?
