Jungkook's Point of View
I sighed, a thousand thoughts racing through my mind as I glanced at Moon, who was fast asleep beside me. Her presence was a fragile comfort amidst the chaos swirling around us.
"How much longer?" I asked Jimin, who was visibly sweating with anxiety.
Jimin leaned forward, his face serious and tense. "Taehyung and Seokjin aren't playing around. They want something from you. "
"Jungkook..." Jimin started, his voice nervous.
"What is it?" I asked, sensing his unease.
"There's something wrong," he began.
"Wrong like?" I asked, irritation creeping into my tone.
"They would have killed you on the spot if they wanted to, but they want to take you somewhere," Jimin explained, his eyes darting to Moon. "But they want to take you with them... Jungkook, Kim Taehyung is not someone who gives slow deaths, and his patience has always been thin. If they had a grudge against you for taking their sister, they would have killed you right there and taken control in Seoul, but they didn't do anything."
As we walked toward the main entrance of the Jeon mansion, Jimin murmured, "We can't let a war break out."
Moon followed silently behind us. When we entered, Kim Jae Jin and his wife were waiting. I couldn't help but chuckle and shake my head. "Did you really bait your own daughter with my father?" I asked, a hint of disbelief in my voice.
"Jungkook," my father said, rising from the couch.
I turned to him, my face a mask of mixed emotions. "I brought her up," I said, my voice steady but my expression softening as I glanced at Moon, standing there with confusion written all over her face. I forced a smile. "Did you really think I'd bring you back just to pamper you?" I asked, making sure only Jimin and Moon could hear.
Moon's face crumpled with hurt and betrayal as she absorbed my words. I added coldly, "My crown is the only thing that matters to me." With that, I turned and walked toward my father, leaving Moon to grapple with the sting of my words.
"Father," I said, bowing with a weighty heart.
My father's face softened with pride. "See? I told you my son could handle it! Even if he was alone, he would have brought her here safely from the Qins. They've spread their spies throughout the whole city, Jae Jin."
Qin... the Chinese mafia. They're threatening to start a war with Korea, which would lead to a terrible bloodbath, involving countless innocent lives. The Qin mafia is notorious for their brutality, sex trafficking, and other heinous crimes. Their heir wanted Moon as his bride, a fate no parents would wish upon their daughter. The Qins are known for their multiple marriages, and Moon, just two years old at the time, became a target for the fifteen-year-old Qin heir after he saw her at a party.
When the Qins sought to secure land and peace agreements with Busan, including attempts to claim the Busan mafia princess, the situation escalated into a vicious war. This conflict damaged Seoul as well, which is why my father had to station guards against the Busan Mafia were Kim.
Before I fully grasped the extent of the Qin spies' infiltration, they had already spread across the area where Moon and I were earlier that day. This morning, when I went down to speak with the patrolling guards, they were tight-lipped about the spies. It became clear that we had moles everywhere.
When the Kim brothers broke in, I felt a sense of relief, thinking they would take Moon away safely. But they ended up taking me as well. On the way, when our cars were hijacked, it was the work of the spies. The Qins have a distinctive method for hijacking cars, unlike us Jeons or the Kims, who would simply shoot out the tires. The hijacking was a clear signature of the Chinese.
The men who were with the Kims were also moles. However, when they attempted to harm us, Jimin alerted the guards stationed secretly in the area. The Kim brothers, despite their initial betrayal, were now working to protect us.
"So, with the initial damages and the exchange of guards for our daughter's safety, we had something more..." Kim Jae Jin began, his eyes drifting to his daughter standing silently by the couch, her head bowed in distress.
"We want peace with you, Hyun," he continued, his voice earnest. "We seek peace with Busan and Seoul. If you require guards, landmines, or control over seaports, I am willing to negotiate. But please, I can't—"
He trailed off, his expression a mix of desperation and sincerity as he struggled to find the right words.
I know my father is a greedy man.
"Don't worry Jae-jin...my son will marry your daughter and impregnate her before those Chinese rats can get her...but " my father said with his egoistic voice. I do want this hell yes.
