F O R T Y S I X

*The day when jungkook come to Daegu *

I came out of the shower, dressed in a sundress, feeling unusually nervous today. As I walked towards the balcony, I could see half of the neighborhood; this side didn't have much other than the low wooden fence. The cars parked along the street were visible just beyond the fence.

Just then, I saw a car park in a hurry a bit away from the house. My heart raced as the blurry figure stepped out of the car. The figure crossed the road, and it was Jungkook. I wanted to cry out in happiness that he was okay, but my joy quickly turned into dread when I remembered I had called Taehyung.

My hands trembled as I gripped the railing, watching Jungkook approach. He looked tired but determined, his eyes scanning the area. I hurriedly came inside the room and paced forward in thoughts. What if Jungkook is unarmed and Taehyung would hurt him?

Taehyung had a knack for creating bloodbaths, something I read about all the time in articles. They never mentioned names, but I knew who was behind it. I quickly grabbed the phone from the mattress and dialed Taehyung's number.

Within two or three rings, he picked up. "Wh—"

"He is here," I said, and then the line went dead. I sighed shakily. I was required to inform him if Jungkook showed up, but I was terrified of what Taehyung might do to him. With many prayers, I walked out of the room to the hallway.

I woke up with a snap, my hand moving around the bed to find Jungkook, but his place was cold. Adrenaline rushed through me as I quickly sat up, clutching the sheet to my naked chest. My body ached, crumbling with cramps—he had been wild, very wild. I didn't regret a minute of it; my confession and his were real, not fake. I had confessed in a rush of emotion, fearing I might never get the chance again if something happened to him.

As I got up, limping, my sore body burned with every move. I hurriedly put on the first things I found—undergarments and a silk robe. Walking out of the room, I saw him sitting on the couch, talking to someone on the phone. I approached him and rested my head on his shoulder. His hand brushed my hair, and I sighed in peace.

But then, I heard footsteps and the door creaking open. Jungkook didn't seem to notice at first, his focus on me and his call, but then he too realized someone had entered the room. My mind raced with a thousand thoughts—what was going to happen? What did they want from Jungkook?

_____

Everything happened so fast that I could barely process it. Jungkook's eyes locked onto mine, filled with a hurt that screamed betrayal. Had I really betrayed him? My thoughts were interrupted as a warm coat was draped over my shoulders. I turned to see Seokjin beside me. "You have to come with us. Anything can happen at any time," he said, his voice almost pleading.

I nodded in defense, knowing I had to stay close to them to find out what they wanted with Jungkook. As I followed Seokjin, my mind was a whirlwind of confusion and fear. The urgency in his voice told me that whatever was happening was serious.

I found myself in a car with Taehyung, who sat with a satisfied smile on his face. I looked down, feeling a wave of shame wash over me. "What are you going to do to him?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

Taehyung's smile widened slightly, his eyes glinting with a mix of amusement and something darker. "Don't worry," he said, his tone mockingly reassuring. "We're just going to have a little chat. Jungkook has been... misbehaving, and we need to remind him of his place."

A shiver ran down my spine. "But why involve me?" I demanded, my voice trembling. "I don't understand any of this."

Taehyung's smile faded, replaced by a more serious expression. "You see, Moon," he began, leaning closer, "Jungkook's actions have consequences that affect everyone around him. You were just collateral damage. But now that you're here, you might as well play your part."

I felt a knot of dread tighten in my stomach. The man I loved was in danger, and I was powerless to help him. My thoughts raced as I tried to come up with a plan, anything that could get us both out of this mess. But for now, all I could do was play along and hope for an opportunity to turn the tide in our favor.
