Chapter 1

Taehyung stared at the little plus sign on the pregnancy test, fingers shaking as he struggled to absorb what he was seeing.  'How could this happen? What am I going to do??' Tears filled his eyes and he lowered himself to the toilet seat, his knees too weak to hold himself up.  Eyes flicking to his phone, he shook away the urge to call his brother or Jimin. He had one person who needed to know first.

He and Jungkook had been in a relationship for a year.  They'd met at a restaurant when Taehyung was out with his manager and several executives from Chanel. He'd recently done a photoshoot for them, and they were elated with the results. His manager had insisted he needed to go celebrate, but he'd been bored and faking a smile the whole night-until he met dark eyes across the restaurant.

The intimidating figure had stood and immediately approached. When the others at the table had seen him, they'd quickly stood and offered handshakes.

"Mr. Jeon! So good to see you!"

The raven-haired man had nodded and politely shook hands before turning his dark gaze on Taehyung. "I'm Jeon Jungkook. May I have the pleasure of your name?"

Taehyung felt his heart race at the smooth tone, and he almost blushed. How silly would that look?? He, a world famous super model made to blush so easily! A warm smile graced his features as he offered his hand, "Of course, I'm Min Vante."

Before Tae knew it, Jungkook was sweeping him off his feet.  Late night talks on the deck of his yacht, visits to private beaches, surprise trips on his private jet to far-off destinations...Jungkook spared no effort nor expense in his pursuit of the beautiful younger man.  The two had been sharing their expensive penthouse suite for six months. Despite all this, they were each careful never to discuss the future.  Jeon Jungkook was the heir to an old, established family, and Taehyung suspected that eventually would leave him to marry someone his family deemed "suitable".

Meanwhile, Taehyung was considered one of the most desirable super models in the world.  He'd graced catwalks in Paris, Milan, London, New York, Tokyo, and Seoul.  He was constantly on the move for shoots, and had even been approached for acting roles.  Of course, all of this was under his stage name, "Min Vante...aka V".  His platinum locks, icy blue eyes, and symmetrical features had been on the cover of every major fashion magazine.  There was just one little problem: Jungkook only knew him as Min Vante.

The younger had begun his career using a carefully constructed stage persona, and was determined never to have his public life invade his private one.  In the beginning, he hadn't wanted his fling with Jeon Jungkook to cross that line.  The results would have been disastrous.  But as time went on, he found himself longing to hear the older call him by his real name.  But how to explain that he had a separate identity?  Not to mention that despite living together, the two of them each still treated their relationship as temporary.  Neither ever discussed meeting family, or plans for the future.  It was as if they each knew they needed to hold that last bit back and simply live in the moment.

All of this meant nothing in the face of the little positive sign on the pregnancy test in the model's slender fingers.

The musical notes drifting from his phone tear the shaken man from his panicked thoughts.  Looking at the screen, he feels his heart in his throat.

~Kookie~

Taking a deep breath, he answers the call, trying to force a light tone to his voice.  "Kookie! How's Seoul?"

The soft chuckle tugs at his heart as the older responds.  "Hello Angel.  Seoul is fine.  I'm actually leaving early though.  I'll be able to see you tomorrow."

Tae sits up straighter, teeth digging into his soft lips.  "Oh really?  That's wonderful!  I've missed you!"

"Baby, I've only been gone 4 days.  How'd you like to meet up at your favorite cafe for lunch tomorrow?"

The model drags his fingers through his hair.  How is he going to tell Jungkook??  "Um, yeah, that sounds great."

There's a pause, before the other's concerned voice returns, "Angel, is everything alright?  Have you recovered from that stomach bug that was bothering you?"

The bizarre urge to laugh strikes the younger, but his voice when he answers is light.  "Everything's fine.  I'm looking forward to seeing you."

This time, he can hear the smile in Jungkook's voice when he answers, "I'm looking forward to seeing you as well Angel.  I have to get going so I can finish up some last details.  See you tomorrow."

After hanging up, the beautiful man runs his hand lightly over his abdomen.  "What am I going to do with you?", he muses, "Your daddy thinks you're just a bug.  What's he going to say tomorrow?"  Standing and running a shaky hand over his platinum curls, he takes a deep breath before looking in the mirror.  Tomorrow would decide whether or not their relationship would continue.

Time Skip

Sipping at his hot chocolate, Tae attempts to maintain an outward appearance of calm as he waits for Jungkook.  This cafe was in a high-fashion area of Paris, and he didn't want to deal with the tabloids questioning why the model appeared stressed when meeting his paramour.  After what feels like ages, but was likely only a few minutes, he looks up to see the familiar raven haired man striding across the cafe.  Smiling brightly, Tae rises gracefully to his feet and embraces the elder, pressing his lips against the man's cheek in a chaste kiss.  As they sit, he allows his eyes to take in his  silky, ink-black hair, pink lips, and well-muscled figure, wrapped in an expensive grey suit.

"I missed you Kookie", he blurts out, before chewing at his lip again.  Privately, he allowed himself to recognize that yes, he had fallen deeply in love with the other man.

A bunny-like smile flashes across Jungkook's face, "How was your shoot in Greece?"

Waving it away, Taehyung sighs, "Just like any other.  The photographer and my manager seemed pleased."

Nodding, the elder turned his head as the server approached.  Knowing exactly what the model preferred, he ordered for them both before turning his attention back to the younger.  "So, you're feeling better?"

Tae swallowed and smiled, giving a brief nod.  "Did you accomplish what you needed to do in Seoul?"

A serious look flashes across Jungkook's face as he glances away.  "In a way, yes, I suppose."  Clearing his throat, he sits up straighter, taking a deep breath as he returns his gaze to the other man.  "Actually, I need to talk to you about something important that came up while I was in Seoul."

Feeling a sense of dread, Taehyung nods, "Alright.  Go on."

There's a long pause, before the ravenette speaks again, "I'm engaged."

The words take a second to sink in, before the model flinches back, eyes going wide.  "You're...engaged?  As in, you're getting married?"

"Yes.  My parents feel it is time I settle down and get married, and they selected a bride for me."

Staring mutely at the other, the model shakes his head, "And you accepted?"

"Yes.  I know it might come as a bit of a shock, but I'm sure we both knew it would happen eventually."

Laughing bitterly, Taehyung takes a sip of water before taking a deep breath.  "I'm pregnant."

Jungkook blinks, apparently surprised at the blunt declaration.  Frowning, he sighs and rubs at his forehead, "Vante, don't do this.  I don't want to end our relationship with lies and drama."

Scoffing, the younger reaches into his bag and withdraws the pregnancy test before sliding it across the table.  The older man stares at the slender, white piece of plastic for a long moment before glaring across at the other.  "And whose is it?  Who exactly have you been cheating on me with?"

Gaping, Tae feels the urge to throw his water glass at the other man before restraining himself and angrily hissing, "What the fuck?!  It's yours, you prick!  I haven't been with anyone else at all since we've been together!"

"It's impossible for it to be mine, Vante.  We haven't had sex in two months, and you've had your period since."  Jungkook's voice is icy, his expression now filled anger.

"That's actually pretty common Jungkook," he snaps back, "Lots of people, both mpregs and women, get a period the first few months of pregnancy."

The other scoffs, "Look, I had hoped we could end our relationship still friends, but clearly that's not going to be the case.  I thought you were better than this, but apparently you're just another predator after my bank account and family name."  Taking a drink, he stands to leave, glowering at the younger, "I'll give you two weeks to vacate the penthouse."

Standing to his own feet, Taehyung steps forward, his voice resolute despite the crushing pain in his chest, "I will leave the penthouse in two weeks Jungkook.  And if you don't come talk to me before that time, you will never see me again."

Walking away from the younger, Jungkook doesn't look back even once.

Over the next two weeks, Taehyung paces the apartment, anxiety a constant companion.  He packs what few belongings he brought, refusing to pack any of the clothing, jewelry, or other gifts which Jungkook had purchased for him.  Precisely two weeks to the day after their cafe meeting, a sharp knock comes from the front door.  Answering, Tae is met with a well-dressed, greying gentleman.  "Good afternoon Mr. Min, I have been instructed by Mr. Jeon to assist you with relocating out of the suite."

What little hope the model had held crumbled, the urge to cry almost overpowering.  But he would be damned if he would allow this man to report back to Jungkook that he'd been a weak and blubbery mess.  Perfecting a cool and unaffected air, he shook his head, "No assistance is needed.  I just need to do one last thing and I'll be out."

Walking to the bedroom, he looked at the bed they'd shared for months.  Pulling the pregnancy test out of his bag, his placed the small white stick in the middle of the red, sating duvet.  Leaving the room, he picked up his two bags and walked to the door.

"Um, Mr. Min, are you sure that's all you're taking?  Mr. Jeon gave the instructions that you were to take everything."  The man looked nervous and guilty, as if he hated to be placed in the middle.

"No, I don't want anything of his."  Giving a last glance around the apartment where he'd been so happy, he swallowed before pulling his shoulders back.  "I have to be going, I have a flight to catch".

On the plane ride to Tokyo, he allowed himself to cry, tears streaming down the pretty male's face.  Resting his hand on his belly, he murmured, "I guess it's just us now little bug."  Arriving at the airport, he quickly shed his Min Vante persona.  A talented friend had helped him craft the identity, and not even his manager knew his private identity.  Taking out the icy blue contacts, he blinked his deep brown eyes.  A beanie over his hair would do until he could get to his hyung's house and dye it back to his natural light brown. That, paired with the ripped jeans, t-shirt, and thick-framed glasses helped transform him from "V-the supermodel", to "Kim Taehyung-the college drop-out".

A second very long plane ride, this time in economy so he would blend in, and he landed in L.A.  Stretching his limbs, he grumbled to himself as he strode off the plane.  The sneaking around was uncomfortable at the best of times, but now that he was pregnant it was miserable.  Sadly, it was necessary if he wanted to keep his private life out of the spotlight.  A quick Uber ride later, and he was standing outside the gates of a large mansion in Beverly Hills.  A loud buzz sounded as he pressed the intercom.  "Who is it?"

Looking up at the camera, he gives a quick wave, "Hi Hyung, it's me."  The gates immediately begin to swing open, and he strides up the long driveway to the front door.  Before he can knock, the door swings open and he's wrapped in a tight embrace.  "Taehyung!!  What are you doing here?!  Why didn't you tell us you were coming??  Does Hoseok know your here?  Did you tell Yoongi??  I swear, if he knew and didn't tell me and let you take an Uber from the airport I'm gonna smack him!"

"Chim!  Take a breath!  Nobody knows, I didn't call anyone.  And can you let me get some air, please?"

Jimin finally releases his tight hug, taking a step back to look at his best friend and soulmate.  "Come in!  I'll get your room readied for you."  Pulling the taller man inside, he frowns as he shuts the door.  Crossing his arms over his chest, he adopts a stern tone, "Alright, now out with it.  What brings you to my door with no warning at all, and why do you look so pale and tired?"

As if the concerned gaze of his life-long friend is the last straw, Taehyung finally breaks.  Crumpling to the ground, his shoulders shake as he sobs into his hands, exhaustion and pain overwhelming the younger.  Frozen in shock for only a second, Jimin quickly sinks to the ground as well and wraps the weeping boy in his arms.

Elsewhere

Jeon Jungkook takes a deep breath as he enters the penthouse suite, his assistant quiet behind him.  Walking around the space, he frowns as he sees that Vante had left almost everything behind.  "Didn't you tell him he could have everything?"

The older man nods, "Yes sir, I did.  He refused."

Confused, he continues towards the bedroom, "Did he say why?"

There's a hesitant pause, before the man coughs, "He said he didn't want anything of yours, sir."

Freezing for a moment, emotion briefly flickers in the ravenette's eyes before he nods and opens the bedroom door.  Striding in, he comes to a halt when something small catches his eye.  It's odd how fast he sees it, given its small size against the large bed.  But the small, white piece of plastic is instantly recognizable to him.  Carefully, he steps forward and picks up the test, again seeing the little plus sign.  There's roaring in his head as he recognizes exactly what it was Vante was telling him by leaving the test behind.  Yelling out in rage and frustration, he punches the wall, feeling the plaster crumble around his fist.  Turning to the startled assistant in the doorway, he bites out a furious order.  "Find Min Vante. NOW!"

AN: *waves* Hi babies!  I've had this idea in my head for more than a year.  It's loosely inspired by a book I read years ago, although I'm making a lot of changes to fit my vision for it.
