AvNeil were sleeping peacefully- avni had rested her head on neil's chest &he had wrapped his left arm from below her back

Suddenly avni started to mumble in sleep
The afternoon incident had still not left her mind

A-no...no...no...plz...plz dont kill me
Plz dont harm neilu
No plz dont...do this
No!!!

Avni woke up with a jolt, breathing heavily
Her sudden movement broke neil sleep too

N-avu
Baby kya hua

A-neilu tum theek ho na
She started to check his chest for any injuries

Avni had again rested her head on neil's chest but he pulled her totally over himself &avni rested her arms on either side of neil

He started to stroke her head
Slowly avni slept

N(to himself)-i never thought that a mere fictional horror show can cause so much fear inside her heart

But i love her care for me
The way she was nervous about me getting injured speaks alot about her pure heart

He kissed her hair& soon sleep took over him

Next day-

Neil was working from home while avni was busy watching cartoon
Neil decided to take a break so he got up& sat beside her

Avni automatically lay down& rested her head in his lap
Neil was caressing her hair when a wild idea struck his mind& he started to tickle her, making avni laugh at once

A-neilu stop tickling me(while laughing)
To save herself, avni got up& started running in the hall
But neil was no less- he caught her by her arm, lifted her by her lower back& twirled her in the same pose while avni smiled widely

N-my baby loves to play tom& jerry huh?

A-yes

Neil smiled while avni giggled

Same evening-

AvNeil were sitting on the bed cum sofa
Avni was in his lap& was playing with the button of his t shirt& he was playing with her long locks of hair

Avni broke the silence

A-neilu

N-hmmm

A-where is your family?

Neil became silent
A tear slowly slipped down his eye which fell on avni's hand
She became nervous

A-im sorry neilu
I made you cry
If you dont want to share its ok-i will never ask you this question again

Flashback-

When i was in college, me& one of my female classmate became friend
We didnt realize when we fell in love

Our mbbs was almost over when my parents got to know about our relationship

They were really angry with me that i hid this truth from them
Nevertheless, she visited my house few times& my parents understood her mindset pretty soon

They could clearly see that she was the play girl type- the moment she would find someone better, she would simply ditch the guy she was dating toh shaadi manage karna toh door ki baat thi
They rejected her right away

But i was blind in her love& couldnt see her real face
She had made a full proof plan to convince my parents& i simply complied

We acted that we broke up
But once we completed our college &got jobs, we ran away& got married in temple

We knew that although my parents would be angry with me, we will eventually win their heart

But when we entered the house after marriage, we got a big shock- my family was sitting in the hall, with guests& it clearly looked like a marriage proposal

On seeing me already married, my parents faced lot of insult from the other family after which they disowned me

We purchased a small house on rent& managed with whatever we had bcz we didnt have much income at that time

But after few months, i started to see her true colors- the house she used to love, had suddenly turned suffocating for her
She started to throw tantrums on even the smallest problems

And then came the day when i got the biggest shock of my life-
After my duties at thd hospital, i returned home in the evening (while she had taken an off)

I entered our room& the sight in front of me swept the floor off my feet-
I saw her in the arms of another man
Then i understood why she took an off

I confronted her& she accepted her deeds
Soon we got divorced
And as i had assumed, my parents refused to forgive me
I worked hard& gained promotion so that i could leave that place& the bitter memories

I purchased a flat in this society but in past so many yrs, my parents never came to visit me
Since then, ive been living here- all alone

Flashback over

Avni's eyes became blurry on hearing his story
She looked up to face him& wiped his tears with her tiny thumbs

A-im sorry i freshened your wounds

She kissed his cheek, leaving him shocked

She snuggled into his chest while neil caressed the area where avni kissed him
This was the first time she had kissed him, even if in flow of the moment
He smiled shyly& scratched the back of his neck

Time flew by& avni's medical condition started to improve
Neil too, had become really used to her presence
Neil's care& affection made avni forget the pain she went through when her parents disowned her

Her smile used to make him happy& her tears used to prick his heart

Neil was sure that he loved her but didnt confess bcz he was scared- not of rejection but he feared that she might leave him or their relationship wont remain what it is right now- the closeness &trust she has on him wont remain the same as before

Random afternoon, hospital-

DD& neil were discussing a case when DD diverted their discussion

DD- neil tuje nahi lagta that avni should continue her studies?

N-of course she should continue
But i feel that shes not so independent rn
Ab wo apne daily jobs& meals khud kar leti h- ab muje usse khana nahi khilana padta

But studies resume karne ke liye usse pehle jesa mature hona padega- jesi wo school ke dinon men thi

Mene check kia h- uska studies men utna bura haal nahi h
She remembers most of the stuff she learnt till 12th
Bas refresh karra raha hu taki wo ye samaj paye ke uska interest kis field men h
Kyuki compulsory thodi h ke jo stream aapne 12th men li thi ussi se related job lo

Ye uss time ki baat h jab avni ko mere ghar men aaye nearly 1month ho chuka tha

Usse tab bhi apne parents ki kafi yaad aati thi toh uska mood change karne ke liye men usse drive pe le aya tha

Hum ek stuff toys ki shop ko cross karne wale they jab mene usse pucha tha ke usse koi toys toh nahi chahiye
Tab usne mana kar diya& kaha ke men hi uska stuff toy hu

Flashback over

DD-hmmm
Aur tu uski emotional improvement bhi chahta h par darta h ke kahi iss chakkar men wo apni innocence na kho de

N(sighing)-haa yaar
Par tuje kese pta?

DD-abe saalo se jaanta hu tuje
Tu duniya ke saamne ye sach chupa sakta h par mujse nahi

N-kesa sach?

DD-yahi ke tuje avni se pyaar hogya h
Aur ye aaj ki baat nahi h- ye pyaar bohot pehle shuru hogya tha

Neil got up from his chair& moved towards the window

N-haa yaar
Par ye pyaar ek tarfa h
Mene kaha tha na- wo abhi bhi emotionally weak h- ye sab uske liye greek& latin ke baraabar h

DD-chal mana ke tu aaj usse apne dil ki baat nahi batana chahta kyuki wo shayad iski seriousness ko samaj na paye
Par zyada delay bhi mat karna- kahi der na hojaye

N-hmmm

They finished off the file& neil went home

Same night-

Avni had slept off in neil's arms but neil was wide awake- he was stroking her hair& was lost in his thoughts

N(to himself)- i think i should give another try to counselling session for avni- unlike earlier, she has improved alot in past few months- especially mentally

She should now try to understand what she wants to do in future- especially about education &career
Im sure that she wont take much time now& by the time she will give entrance exams, she will be mature enough- mentally as well as emotionally

I had tried to hold these counseling classes earlier as well, when her case had come to me for first time so that she tries to open up about the emotional problems she was going through& the level of knowledge she remembers

But it didnt work& she again lost her temper in front of the counselor& escaped the room while i was waiting outside
She came& clung to me in extreme fear

The counselor also understood that she was still not in the state to talk about all these things- especially to a stranger so we kept this aside for the time being

I will talk to her tomorrow itself

Next morning-

Neil was preparing breakfast while avni was sitting on the slab with her legs hanging off it

Neil broke the silence

N-avu

A-haa neilu

N-tum meri ek baat manogi?

A-depend karta h

She immediately got off the slab& clung to neil- she started to shiver in fear bcz she was still not comfortable with meeting strangers, especially if neil wasnt with her

A-neilu i will consume as much medicines& milk you say but plz i dont want to go there

N-baby its for your benefit- taki tum decide kar pao ke tumhe konse course men interest h

A-then you plz be with me
Wo phirse mujse mumma dadda related question puchenge
I was anyway a burden on them& isiliye muje ab mumma dadda ki itni yaad nahi aati

She literally started to sob

They got ready, had breakfast& left for the counselor office

(Im skipping the part about what they discuss in sessions- every problem has its different topics& i will have to do lot of research)
I know im lazy sometimes😅😅😅

With neil being beside her, avni didnt fear much during the session
The counselor also didnt discuss about avni's family or parents bcz neil had already informed her about it
The session went well
