The scene started in a mental hospital, room no301

A new patient had been admitted& was literally creating havoc in the room
The screams were so loud that they were audible in the entire corridor bcz the patient's parents were leaving her in the mental hospital& she wasnt able to digest this news- she had never stayed away from her parents

The doctor who was in charge of her case somehow handled the situation by giving the patient a mild anesthesia

He came out of her room& recollected the conversation he had with her mother, ayesha mehta in his cabin

Ayesha- mr khanna actually avni has completed her school& was preparing herself for the entrance exam of college until that frightful day.....

Avni was returning home after her school farewell 
She was climbing the stairs of our apartment building when suddenly she missed a step& rolled down the stairs, injuring her head miserably

Our neighbors heard her screams& informed us after which we drove to the nearest hospital

Her head was bleeding horribly& we somehow stopped more bleeding until we reached thee hospital also making sure that she doesnt loose conciousness

She was taken to the ICU at once& when the doctors came out, they said that she has lost alot of blood& needs a blood donor at once which we arranged

They also said that 1thing was sure- she wont be having a normal life anymore& will take lot of time in recovering from the mental injuries

And to know the exact situation of her case, they performed MRI &EEG
Unfortunately for us& avni, their assumption came out to be true by the reports

This news swept the floor off our feet
We got our next shock when she recognised us but behaived like a 5yr old, making us numb

It took a week for avni's physical injuries to heel& to get discharged
But as the doctor said- her mental injuries will take lot of time to heal

In last 5yrs we took proper care of her but now we cant do it anymore bcz we need to move abroad &hum avni ko apne sath nahi leja sakte
We will continue to give her hospital fees on time but plz understand that we cant take her responsibility anymore

N-i agree& although i trust all my fellow doctors, we cant trust anyone too blindly- men avni ki responsibility kisi anjaan ko ese hi nahi de sakta bcz god forbid agar avni ke sath kuch bhi galat hua toh usse samaj bhi nahi ayega ke kya hua h
Uski current situation ka koi bhi galat faida utha sakta h

Meri society men security bhi h& vese bhi uska case sirf mene handle karna h so i can treat her from home itself- sirf checkup ya tests ke liye yaha le aunga

After listening to avni's mom, im sure that in past5 yrs, everyone's affection for avni must have reduced to some extent bcz of her medical expenses & almost 24×7 attention she required bcz she cant even perform her daily chores on her own, leading to frustration in family members

Avni might have not noticed it& hence shes highly reluctant to let her parents decision of leaving her in this mental hospital

He somehow consoled her by saying that he will take her away from this hospital& took her to his condo

Neil used to stay alone in his condo
He belongs to a well to do family but they are not in touch with him

Only his grandmother talks to him on video call sometimes

He had employed a maid who only used to clean the house,was utensils, cook food& leave

When avni entered his condo, she had again started crying bcz her parents werent with her
Neil somehow consoled her again

He smiled while avni sank her face in sadness
Neil knew that it wasnt easy for her but he was also determined to bring her original self back- proving to her family that she is not a burden

He had already told the maid to cook porridge
She cooked it& left

When neil kept the bowl in front of avni, she made faces on seeing healthy food& when neil forwarded the spoon towards her mouth, she didnt open her mouth

I kept the spoon back in the bowl of porridge &thought of some way to make her eat it
Thats was when an idea struck my mind

They moved towards the living room &sat on the sofa

Neil switched on the tv& put the cartoon channel of avni's preference

Once she was busy watching the tv, neil fetched the bowl of porridge &slowly moved his hand in front of her mouth

Since she was engrossed in the cartoon, she didnt realize when she opened her mouth &started eating the porridge

Once she finished the porridge, neil fetched a glass of milk for her
He decided to start with a glass of smaller quality bcz he knew that she would just not drink on seeing too much of milk
But even on seeing less quantity, she refused to drink which he had pretty much expected but he has his own tactics

She pouted like a child

N-even i dont like milk
Accha whats your favourite chocolate?

Cadbury fruit &nut

You know i have many of it in my freezer

Avni widened her eyes in happiness

N-but for that, you need to drink this milk

She made annoyed faces but then drank half of it

N-if you dont drink it then i wont give you your favourite chocolate

She again made face but then finished the milk in 2 more sips, again making faces in between

He gave her smaller pack of chocolate& she started munching like a baby- smearing it on her lips

Neil smiled& gently rubbed the area with his thumb, cleaning it off
He made her clean her hands

Her eyes teared up on thinking of her family

Neil's sleep was broken when he heard few sounds coming from avni's room
He immediately got up& moved to her room& saw her shivering& mumbling something in sleep
He immediately sat beside her

It had been a month since avni was living in neil's condo
From morning to night, neil took proper care of avni- from giving her a bath to feeding her meals- he used to do everything

Avni too, had become used to his presence
She used to become very lonely whenever he went to hospital for some urgent reasons
And to pacify her, he used to bring her favourite chocolate

To make sure of her proper safety, he had patiently taught avni to check through the peep hole& not open the door for any stranger in his absence which she had understood, though slowly

The maid had left &avni was playing with her toys when suddenly the doorbell rang

Avni instantly became nervous& dialled neil's no on the landline which neil had made her memorize carefully

Neil was checking a file, trying to finish it quickly when smiled on seeing a call from home
He immediately answered it

He rubbed her back to calm her down

Neil kept the dishes in the sink& came back in the room

They lay in bed& avni shifted her head on neil's chest
He caressed her hair& soon she fell asleep while neil got lost in his thoughts

She does become emotional on remembering her parents but has slowly started accepting that they wont return
