His Locked Heart!~Chp 2~ On the verge of breaking down.
Chapter two
On the verge of breaking down.
Once in the building, the cool air, probably coming from the air conditions brushed through my face and made my long brown hair fly. Oh my God this place is crowded with lots of Chanels, Versaces and louboutins. By the way these kids were dressed I knew that this was where the higher upper class studied.
I walked through the corridors, not knowing where the main office was so that I could collect my schedule. I needed to ask someone, But Who?
There were a group of guys standing at the end of the corridor. They looked quite snobbish and spoiled as they were staring everyone down, and so I decided that asking them for help would probably be the worst idea.
But looked like they didn't think the same way as I did 'cause as I walked passed them, "You knew here?" someone called from beside me. I turned to see a guy probably a little older than me like eighteen or nineteen. I was seventeen by the way. I saw his white-blonde hair were messy but stylish, his blue eyes were passing nothing but shots at me, shots of flirting.
I suddenly remembered that he'd asked me something but what was it?
" A'You talking to me?" I answered him with a question.
"Yeah beautiful I am talking to you." I was going to frown at his boldness but didn't because I was used to of these type of guys, they never really stop trying their luck. Ah! Guys. I passed him a fake smile.
"Yeah actually I was looking for the main office." I knew I shouldn't be asking him for help and had decided against it earlier, but I think it was too late now. I wished it wouldn't cause me any harm. I really didn't want to get in the way of these kinda boys today.
"Oh cool, I was actually headed there," I don't know if he was lying or what, or he'd probably gotten into trouble, that was my guess. "I can walk you there." He said randomly and started walking beside me.
"This way," he directed, with a mischievous smile.
"So, Did you get into trouble or something?" I asked after a while. Because he was helping me, I had to make conversation. I hoped I wouldn't be regretting this decision later on.
He chuckled at my comment and nodded. His laugh was quite fake though, I hated fake people. He stole a glance at me and kept his eyes on my face for a while and then said; "I had some paper work in there." He smiled, which gave me an idea of what kind of paper work.
"Detention?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. He grinned and nodded.
"I am not quite fond of the bald guy!" he stated.
"So, Now I know that the principal's bald." I said and he chuckled again, Was I that funny? I managed a light smile.
Either he couldn't help being fake, which was 'Rich people influence' or he was trying really hard to impress me. It is what guys do, I have heard. They laugh at your jokes if they liked you.
I have grown up with rich people and have always hated the fake (I loves you)'s, the fake (I miss you)'s. It was all too artificial to me this world of ours. Too Fake!
"Are you from around here?" He questioned, looking at me.
"Umm no, we moved here a couple of weeks ago from Miami." I told him as we walked through the second corridor.
"We?" He observed.
"My dad and me." I replied. I knew what he was going to ask now and I really didn't want to talk about my mom with him.
"I see, Brandon Cooper here." He introduced himself and reached for my hand. I shook his hand and "Marissa Austen." I told him. He sounded pleased with a playful smile on his lips.
We both entered the office together, but then went to our different ways. I went up to talk to a very old but kind lady, who handed me some slips and my schedule. My first class was English, cool. I hoped it wouldn't be as bad as I thought it'd be.
Following the directions the lady had given me while receiving lots of curious stares from the kids here, I finally reached my first class. The teacher hadn't come yet so I decided to take a seat, ignoring yet again the gawking students. The class was mostly full only two seats on the right were empty, so I had no option but to make myself comfortable or at least try.
I was busy checking out my schedule and my new books when I didn't notice someone 'A girl' who came and sat next to me. I looked up at her, she passed me a gentle smile. I don't remember if I returned it or not. She put her stuff down, making her long blonde hair fall to the sides and then looked at me with her dark blue eyes;
"That's my friends seat." She said. Oh so was I supposed to get up now??
When she saw the puzzled look on my face she added; "Oh no you don't have to get up 'cause she isn't here today, actually she and her family moved away so she's never gonna sit next to me ever again." A sad look appeared on her face.
"Best friend?" I asked.
"Yeah ever since Kinder Garden but now..." She wasn't able to finish because the teacher walked in and ordered the class. A nameplate on the table identified her as 'Mrs. Dean.' She sat on her chair, looking at her students and didn't stop up until her eyes fell upon me.
"Ahhh." Her eyes lit up. "A new student!" She pointed her hand towards me and smiled "Would you like to introduce yourself?" Ohh no, I'd rather not.
"Marissa Austen." I said, surprising myself with the higher tone and confidence that had suddenly boosted in me. The smile broadened on her full lips.
"Welcome Marissa, so you seem to be new in this town. Haven't seen you before." She stated.
"Yes, my family and I moved here from Miami a couple of weeks ago." I replied, managing a smile on my lips not making it too big or too unnecessary.
Some guys in the class oohed and aahed at the 'Miami' word. Someone even said 'Hot' in a not so decent manner. He was a guy with brown hair and blue eyes. I shot him a glare so did Mrs. Dean.
"Great," said the teacher, "It's nice to have you here." She rubbed her hands together, readying herself to get back to business.
When the introduction was over I sat back on my seat. The blonde girl sitting next to me offered me her hand. "Serena Carter." She said.
"Marissa Austen." I told her.
"Yeah I already heard." She grinned. We then talked at any chance we got, well it was mostly her. I was still struggling to get used to of this new school and new friends thing. But Serena was nice, she kinda reminded me of my best friend in Miami...Katie, My true best friend. This girl was easy to talk to and also the whole their best-friends-moving-out story kinda made their lives similar.
Like everybody else here Serenas clothes screamed 'Money' too, but she seemed to be a down to earth girl. Or wait I shouldn't be this quick in judging them.
I sat next to the window in the cafeteria, alone. Taking swigs of my orange juice, I had lost my appetite, don't know why. Oh or perhaps the reason was pretty clear to everyone. A few guys tried talking to me but because of my not so good mood I acted rude and they were gone. Girls would just glare at me as if I had committed a crime by coming here. This was depressing me for some odd reason. I hoped that Serena, The girl I saw earlier would show up but she didn't and so I was left there alone and on the verge of getting depressed.
Unfortunately my last class was just a cherry on top of the cake. I walked in and sat next to a very geekish looking guy. He didn't look up at my approach and had buried his face in a very thick book. That was actually good 'cause I wasn't in a mood of getting social today.
A guy who I had seen earlier in the cafeteria, who'd tried talking to me, walked in the class room and gave me a wicked grin. He was the kind of guy who would always have that expression that said, 'Believe me I am so cool.'
I looked away from him trying my level best to ignore him but looked like he didn't want me to. Because he just threw something at my direction. I caught it and noticed that it was a crumpled paper ball, which hadn't been directed at me but for the guy sitting next to me.
Some of the guys side-kicks oohed when I had caught the paper ball. And that was when FINALLY the guy sitting next to me noticed that something was wrong and looked up. The 'Mr cool' looked puzzled and glared at me, I think I don't like him. AT ALL.
"Oh, So the new hottie in town saves 'Percy the old geek'," he said, some of his friends laughed, making the situation even more dramatic. I decided to ignore them, mainly because I didn't want trouble on the first day of school.
And that was when the teacher walked in and the class fell silent. Everyone sat back at their seats. Percy for the first time looked up to me with his brown eyes and muttered a 'Thanks.' As an answer I introduced myself. Throughout the class I noticed that the guy was incredibly good with numbers. So just to be nice I complimented him with a 'WOW' when he answered one of the teachers questions. The teacher just like me was surprised too. This gave him a little confidence and so he to my astonishment asked a few questions and inquired about my background.
But apparently 'Mr. Cool' wasn't done with his jackassness yet. Right when the class was over he walked passed me and said; "When you're done with him, don't forget you can always try me." That was 'IT' for me. I jumped up from my seat and glared at him, which he seemed to enjoy.
"Not really, you're not my type." I said coolly. Percy seemed to be really uncomfortable throughout this whole thing, whereas the jerk in front of me grinned evilly.
"Alright then what is your type?" he asked glancing back at his friends.
"Whatever it may be but believe me it's nothing like you." I spat. The class was empty, nearly all the students had gone out to get home and I was stuck here with some overconfident he-ass.
"I hope you change your mind and when you do, you know where to find me." He said winking as he took a couple steps backwards.
"In your dreams." I rolled my eyes.
"A loyal chick, never mind. So what gift would you and your latest crush want for your wedding?" he asked, his smile widening.
"Your corpse." Was what I told him and strode out of the room, but I was sure I heard him chuckle behind me. Jerk!
~Okay so this is where the sec chp ends.
