NARI was her parents pride and joy, she had gotten through school with the highest grades that she could succeed with. Her teen years were filled with fleeting memories of libraries and museums. By the time it came for college, Nari had been accepted into Seoul National University as an Art major hoping to make her dreams of being the next big artist of Seoul.

With her father's successes in life, he was a CEO of his own company meaning that money wasn't an issue. This created a comfortable life for Nari, she was never one to overspend nor care for the more materialistic aspects of life. Along with that, her mother co-owned two restaurants with her childhood best friends. And so, money was never an issue for Nari and she had an easy life. Until it wasn't.

When Nari was barely twenty-two years old, her father was arrested for Fraud and Embezzlement. It completely rocked the young woman's world, her father had been her rock and role model. It had been during one of their Sunday dinners ─ an organised event to ensure their lives didn't stray ─ when the police had stormed into their home and arrested Ha Wi-joon.

After her father's arrest spread through media outlets, her mother had no other choice but to break her contracts with her childhood friends leaving her restaurants behind. Kim Yuri was left distraught over the loss of her business, the closure of her husbands bank accounts and the dishonor on her family. Yuri's life crumbled and her once pristine nature faded into something toxic and broken.

Nari stepped up and dropped out of college, pushing her art aside in order to work whatever jobs she could in order to give her mother a semblance of the life she lived before. However, her mother's gratitude turned into loathing towards her daughter, now viewing her sweet gesture as an act of mockery. And within time, Yuri had completely changed from the loving mother Nari once adored to a shell of that woman.

By the age of twenty-four, Nari's mother had manipulated Nari into funding her entire life. These acts of gaslighting had led into a hefty debt for Nari, she was beginning to struggle under the weight of the debts which soon led her into the arms of Park Sung-Ja. Sung-ja was the son of a movie director which meant he had history in acting, this created an understanding of art between the two adults in their mid-20s.

It was with Sung-ja's influence that Nari learnt her mother had been manipulating her and taking the young woman for granted. This led to the loss of contact between Nari and Yuri, a heartbreaking time for the young woman who just wanted her parents back. Nari and Sung-ja kept a private relationship but it was one of love and support that Nari hadn't had in a very long time.

Until it all fell apart once again. It was just after Nari had turned twenty-six when she learnt that she was pregnant with Sung-ja's baby. While at first, she had been excited for the next step of their life, believing that Sung-ja would be as happy as she was. But life had been so cruel, she wasn't gonna stop that now. And instead, Sung-ja had been furious to learn of the news and immediately kicked her out claiming her beauty was gone; along with her innocence.

Nari was alone again. However, she had one blessing from the cruelty of the world and that was the little one growing within her stomach. She knew her life wasn't stable enough for a child, but she wouldn't give up nor would she rid herself of the one thing in life she has wanted. However, there are only so many loans one can take before building a debt of over 800 Million Won. She knew it was only a short time before the loan sharks came knocking on her door.

Nari had no home.

So when a kind looking man shows up in her life offering her a chance to clear her debts by playing a few games, she doesn't hesitate to do so. However, Nari was unaware about the deadly nature of these games. Thankfully, she won't be alone as Player 230 seems to have taken a liking to her; they had met before the games and he plans to keep close until long after those games. The real question is; will they survive?

Welcome to my Thanos book. This is essentially an alternative version of Squid Game where the "villains" have something too precious to lose.

So both Thanos and Nam-gyu will change into nicer people throughout the games... but they'll still be dicks to Myung-gi cause dude is a little responsible for their debts (only a little) but they won't flat out try and kill him.

However, I am also altering the time setting a little bit. Basically, rather than six games over six days....

it's gonna be game/vote then break day then game/vote then break day etc... So they'll actually be there for twelve days.
