The evening came, and I had to give my speech. I started pacing back and forth, nervous as Hell. My speech was only in an hour, and there were around 3,000 people in that crowd. Rosa was with me in the waiting room they gave us, and was trying to calm me down. "You're a great speaker, Sir. You'll be fine." She assured me. I stopped pacing and nodded. After any hour, they told me I had to go on. I nodded and took out the papers that held my speech. Rosa smiled sweetly and gave me thumbs up. I smiled slightly and nodded. I was escorted to the stand and was introduced as, 'The Man Who Made This Possible.'

I gave my speech, a sentimental message, hoping to help the rescued children, and hoping for the future. The crowd started cheering as I gave an off-comment joke about possibly adopting a child, but I didn't think much of it. I hoped they wouldn't either. But as I was about to close my speech, I was interrupted my an excited scream. The woman who had asked for donation and founded the business ran onto the stage. "300!" She yelled. "300! 300!" She said happily. "We've rescued out 300th child!" She exclaimed. They crowd cheered loudly. The people with microphones and cameras ran over to the front of the stage. I assumed they were the press. "Mr. Malway! Mr. Malway!" One of the men called. I looked over to the press, a foggy cloud of daze surrounding me. "Y-yes...?" I asked, holding onto the stand to hold myself up. The camera flashing and shouting made me dizzy, they always had. He continued; "As the man who made this all possible, will you adopt the 300th child?" He asked, ineffably excited. The woman looked up from a paper, "Audrey Slice! That's her name." She announced. The crowd erupted in cheers again. "So will you? Will you adopt Audrey?" They kept asking, over and over. My heart was thundering now. I was in such a daze that I hardly paid attention to what came out of my mouth next. I didn't think of the lasting consequences of what would happen next. It was like I couldn't control what came out of my mouth next.
