The Brilliance
Thomas POV
I finished my food and took a quick nap. When I woke up, I saw I was dark outside. Show time. I stood up and pressed a button on my desk. My desk shook a bit, then lowered into a dark part of the basement. My lab that I had built with only a small fraction of my money. I owned a multi-billion dollar business. I was the richest man in the city, and with that, came beggars to my door every day to ask for me to support their business or help them. It got annoying, but as I always said, do it for the publicity. Publicity was my only companion at this point. This all ran through my mind as I walked around my lab, the machines around me changing my outfit into my villain attire. "Publish," I called to my AI assistant, "what are Whirlwind and Split planning?" I asked. Publish automatically scanned the city for them and zoomed in on one of my robotic cats that was watching them.
"So, you've got the plan ready?" Whirlwind asked, raising her head to her sidekick, Split. He nodded, silent as ever. She smiled and they walked off, leaving a large paper on a table. "Publish, zoom into the paper." I commanded. They complied and I carefully examined their plan. "Alright." I said, my genius mind schemed with plans to defeat them.
Once I found where they were, I emerged from the shadows to face them. Whirlwind automatically launched at me and attacked me, throwing small tornadoes at me. I swiftly dodged and kicked her in the stomach, throwing her back. Split caught her and then took his turn to attack. His arm became a black slime-like material, and he slung at me. I took a large sheet of metal, and the slime splattered on it. I took out a small tablet with buttons on it.
A detonator.
They froze. "I wouldn't make another move if I were you." I threatened. Whirlwind shivered, "Please, you don't need to do this!" She begged. I smiled, "Leave. This battle is over." I said, laughing under my breath. "If you don't, instead of the children singing that the London Bridges are falling, they'll be singing about this city falling." I laughed in a threatening tone. Split turned to his partner and nodded. Whirlwind sighed, defeated. "Alright, we'll leave, but you don't dare press that detonator." She said. I nodded, "I keep my word, Whirlwind."
They left, and I leaned on a leg of the water tower. I threw the detonator to the side. "Hah...
I didn't have time to plant bombs...
They're so gullible."
